Authors Note- Hey there! I hope everyone has been having a good week and if not, then I hope it one day gets better and just know I feel your damn pain, 100%. Some people have asked if I will have Ellie in AEW, and to be honest with you, I really don't know about that. I rather focus on all the years I have to catch up to right now. Not to mention to work my way back to where I originally ended things. So we shall cross that AEW bridge in the future, we are some time away from that.

I'm glad I picked to write the story from here as it helps a lot more with story lines and explains where the hate for some really began. Not to mention I get to make the matches better!

Straight Edge Sister

Pharya laughs talking to Joe by the black suburban.

"So where the hell is the chick that used to slap me around the ring?" Jonathan Good hits the corner. "I didn't get a chance to see her all day, where is she."

Pharya holds out her arms. "Mox!"

"Get in here, kid." Jon hugs her tight, rocking her side to side. He puts her in a head lock making Pharya scream. "I did not forget about that kick to my spine last time. What were you trying to do woman? Kill me?"

"Ah-I said I was sorry!" Pharya tries to fight but with no luck. "You hit me first that day!"

"Duh, that was the point of the match, Pharya." Jon reminds her.

Pharya stops fighting. "Mox, you got five seconds before I remember what parts on you hurt the most."

Jon drops his hold. "No thank you. I like my parts."

"Thank you," Pharya fixes her hair. "Now," She holds out her arms. "Lets try this again."

Jon chuckles giving her a real hug. "Good to see you, Phar."

"You to." Pharya pulls back. "I met your girlfriend Renee by the way, nice to see you settled down."

"It was time, you know." Jon shrugs. "And she's...different."

"Awww." Pharya pouts her smiling lips, nudging him.

Jon nods. "Okay, shut up."

Pharya laughs. "What? It's cute to know, dude. You must be forgetting I knew you when you were at your most annoying."

"This is true." Jon nods, he looks to Joe. "First time I met her I thought she was one of those ring rats. Told her that to her face."

Joe eyes widened. "What happened?"

"She smacked the damn taste out of my mouth." Jon says calmly.

Joe laughs.

Pharya scoffs. "Well, we all learned good lessons. Jon learned to watch himself, and I learned smacking people with a cold hand, out in the cold, causes a lot more pain to you then them." Jon snickers. "I grown to love you after that though."

"Feelings mutual." Jon agrees. "I was psyched when I found out they were trying to get you here. I just know this is going to be crazy, especially if we meet out there."

"Best ring chemistry as frenemies." Pharya low fived him. "Can't think of a better one."

"My bad for me being late," Colby comes over. "Hold on. How'd you two even beat me here?" He looks to Jon and Joe.

"Your slow." Jon points out.

Pharya laughs. "Agreed."

"Haha," Colby fake laughs. "That's why your driving this time."

Jon sucks his teeth grabbing the keys. "Make Pharya drive, she's the one new."

Pharya jaw dropped. "I beg your pardon."

"It's begged." Colby takes her suitcase, smirking.

Pharya rolls her eyes playfully. "And how come your not driving with Renee, Jon?"

"Told me she wanted to drive with the Bellas," Jon watched Pharya's brow raise, and shoots his hands up in defense. "I did not want to argue with her as to why."

"I see." Pharya opens the door. "Well, I call back seat."

"No one calls that." Colby chuckles.

"Hey, don't be a back seat hater, Colby. Seriously." Pharya gets in.

"Yeah," Jon opens the door. "What you got against the back seats man? I made some of my best memories in back seats."

Pharya snaps her head to Jon laughing. "What?"

Jon shows her the number of times with his hands. "Your disgusting!" She cracks up.

"What? I couldn't help it back then."

"Ridiculous." Pharya laughs. "Was one Lena?"

"Dragon Gate?" Jon points. Joe head tilts, his brows pulling together at how well he remembered. Jon catches this and double takes. "She had nice um, nice hair."

Pharya snickers. "Right, that's why you remember her."

"It's one."

Pharya laughed. "Again. Disgusting."

Colby shakes his head. "Maybe it was bad letting them be together again."

Joe pats his back, helping him with the luggage.

After getting the car packed up, Colby took the backseat with Pharya as Joe sat with Jon in the front.

Driving out of the arena had been a calm and talkative ride as they all filled Joe in about old times. He spent most of the drive learning about Pharya and how she met the other two men, also the stories she had about them.

"Oh, man." Pharya sits up. "Mox, did I tell you I found that old MP3 player, my blue one. All of the old songs on there."

"Your joking?" Jon looks back and forth between the road and her. "Did you write them down?"

"Downloaded them to my phone." Pharya waves it. "I found it going through my moms basement while we helped her move out last year."

"I need that phone." Jon nods.

"I second that need." Colby raises a hand.

Pharya giggles. "It's all you guys."

"I don't like too many others taste in music but you," Jon wags his finger. "You get it."

Pharya chuckles. "You guys, Nick, and Allen turned me on to some things. I honestly just love any music that sounds good. Don't think I have a certain genre anymore."

"Same." Joe agrees.

Jon nods. "I heard you don't drink anymore Brooks, that true?"

"Living my brothers straight edge style." Pharya nods.

"Still weird, knowing your his sister." Joe mentions.

"They act the same." Colby nods.

"We do not!" Pharya defends. "Phil is in an ass twenty four seven. I'm only one, when I'm upset." Colby chuckles. "But yes, I no longer drink."

"To think the girl who could out drink me, and used to be in the most bar fights, stopped." Jon nods. "Got to respect it."

"You?" Joe looks back amused.

"I told you, she was a trouble maker." Colby says.

"I grew up since then, give me a break. Those were my young adult years. Also, in my defense." Pharya points. "Those women started it that night after our event in Dallas, Mox."

Jon makes a face. "And the bottle over that one guy?"

"He got to close to Matt who had his back turned." Pharya shrugs. "I don't like a sneak hitter on my boys. Can you believe that guy pressed charges on me?"

"Yes." Joe and Colby nod.

Pharya sucks her teeth. "No one told him to walk over."

Joe head tilts. "I'm starting to think your ring character, isn't a character."

Colby shakes his head. "It's not."

"Hush." Pharya waves him off.

Jon smiles. "What made you go straight?"

Pharya lets the question dance in her mind. Colby glances over and notices that silence and certain gaze like earlier return, just like when he mentioned Ross around her.

"I didn't like the path it was leading me down..." Pharya found it in her to say, a look to Jon. "I was going through a lot back then, and I started to use it as a crutch or a thing to numb pain. I never want to do that to myself again. So I took a better approach and learned to quit all together."

Joe looks back. "You know it takes guts to do that."

"Thank you," Pharya smiles.

"No problem." Joe tells her. "People admitting they have problems is harder than others think. Especially when the person doesn't think they have one."

"One of my problems that I had back then." Pharya points.

"I'm happy you found a new way to cope with what was going on." Colby says.

"I did." Pharya smiles. "Therapy, a lot of support and focusing back on my love for wrestling. It saved me more than I thought."

"Therapy didn't change that violence you got in you." Colby points out.

Pharya laughs. "It only comes out when pushed."

Jon pulls up to a Royal Farms gas station.

"Alright. You guys got five minutes." Jon unbuckles his belt. "Next stop is the hotel. So no liquids..."

Jon and Colby look to Pharya.

"What?" Pharya looks back and forth. "I didn't know the sparkling water would send me that quick! Granted we didn't get to far on the road."

"Food only." Jon warns.

"Since when are you a responsible person." Pharya gets out, slamming the door.

"Hey, hey, don't slam doors on this vehicle young lady!"

"Young lady?" Pharya laughs. "Please. You as a father. I'll never picture it."

"Me either." Jon admits, getting out.

Joe stretches his legs, getting out of the car. He walks and talks to Pharya as the two of them head inside.

Colby closes up the door as he used this time for some air and to stretch.

"I missed little Brooks." Jon says to him. "Forgot how much trouble we all were." Colby adjust his baseball cap down. "Then I also forgot how much of an ass I use to be back then."

"We all tried to tell you that." Colby smirks.

Jon waves him off. "It shocked me that she doesn't drink anymore."

"Yeah," Colby agrees. "You know I asked her about Ross..."

Jon frowns, rolling his eyes. "Years later and I still don't like the bastard. Remember he came to that show back in 2014?"

"Yeah," Colby scoffs, he leans back on the car. "Apparently they aren't dating anymore."

"Explains why Pharya wasn't with him at the show when we did see him." Jon nods. "Good for her. The girl dodged a bullet." He shakes his head. "I recognize idiots and he was one. Pharya could have done better back then, in my honest opinion."

"I will never argue with that."

"I know he hated your guts the most though." Jon laughs. "I watched the man turn a new shade of red. You always got under his skin."

"Still to this day I don't know why." Colby says. Jon smirks, looking off but his friend catches this. "What? What's that look?"

"Your not that slow, come on." Jon head tilts back, his brows soon pull together. "Are you this slow?"

"I didn't do anything to him." Colby hands went up in defense.

"Didn't have to." Jon shakes his head. "You had the eye of his girlfriend."

"I did not have her eyes." Colby denies. "Me and Pharya were friends."

"Uh-huh," Jon nods.

Colby faces him. "We were. You know that, everyone knows that. They had that on and off again thing going on and they probably still do."

"Yeah I doubt it. If it's been this long." Jon shrugs. "All I do know, is that you can't hide a connection between someone if it's there. Are you willing to look me in my face and tell me back then, if she wasn't with him, you wouldn't have tried?"

"I never said that."

"See." Jon points.

"That was back then." Colby slaps his finger down. "Pharya was a great girl, she still is. Hell a lot of people wanted her."

"I was one of those guys until she smacked me silly." Jon admits. "Then one wrestling match, and beer later, she became one of the best girls to talk to in a wrestling locker room. Which was rare back then." He adds in.

Colby smiles. "It was. We all had some good times back then. I still fail to see how he hated me because of Pharya and her so called eyes. Even that time we saw him a few years ago, he still looked at me like that. Those feelings was a long time ago,"

Jon agrees. "Yeah it was, but time doesn't change everything brother."

"Since when are you the voice of sense, huh?" Colby asks to Jon's laughter. "I'm with Zarah now, and things are going well."

Jon thinks. "Yeah you are," Colby eyes him from the way Jon looks at him with an amused smirk. "Speaking of her. You know, the more I think about it and now that I see Pharya. I can't help but notice something."

Colby folds his arms over his chest. "Oh this should be good. What?"

"You my friend, you have always had a thing for girls with black hair." Jon casually points out.

"So?"

"Pharya has black hair." Jon continues. "Then you also go after the ones with black hair and tattoos."

"Okay, what are you getting at over there?"

"I don't know man." Jon sighs. "It just seems because of the one girl you met, you still have that type. At least one feature leads back to Pharya. They always have black hair, some have tattoos. If they love wrestling it's a plus."

Colby shakes it off. "It's just a coincidence."

"Could be, I have been known to reach a few times." Jon laughs, putting the pump away. "I'm going to get something. You want anything?"

Colby shakes his head. "Naw, I'm alright."

Watching his friend go, Colby found himself thinking back to Jon's words. He did always have a type but he never paid attention to who they almost resembled.

It could have been the reason none of them never worked out, or why he lost interest after a while. None of them were really her, nobody was. They just had certain traits or looks that reminded him of one person that he felt like he missed out with the first time.

However, that was then and this is now. He had who he wanted and Pharya was just his friend and he never wanted to do anything to mess that up.

Pharya walks out the store, she raises a brow—slowing her walk up to the car.

"You alright there Lopez?"

"Huh?" Colby looks down to see her staring up at him. Curious and curiosity flickering in those hazel eyes of hers. "Yeah," Colby snaps out of it. "Yeah I'm good. I just blanked out thinking about something."

"Yeah?" Pharya smiles, lifting her brows. "What you thinking about?"

"Just the past, you know." Colby shrugs. "How much we all grown up from where we are."

"Did we," Pharya scoffs. "All worked out for the best huh? We all got our second chances at life when we thought we messed up."

Colby watches her. "Yeah we do get those second chances."

Pharya head tilts from his words, that curiosity of hers trying to figure him out as he stared at her.

The phone on his side ringing had pulled both of them from their stares.

Colby pulled out the phone to see Zhara's name on the screen.

Pharya sees the name for herself and smiles. "You should get that,"

"Yeah," Colby eyes travel back to her own.

Pharya broke their eye contact to walk away and get into the backseat.

Closing the door, she takes a deep breath for herself.

Eyes traveling to the window as she watched Colby talk on the phone, she shakes away her thoughts and gets comfortable back in her seat.

Second chances.

That didn't apply to everything, though she wished it did...

Joe got in the car, he takes a look to the back seats and notice Pharya in her own world.

"You good?"

"Yes," Pharya smiles up at him. "Thank you," Joe gives her a friendly smile and turns back in his seat. Pharya eyes cast down to her hands, fooling with the string on her pullover sweatshirt.

Jon and Colby get back in the truck.

"Alright. Let the embarrassing Pharya stories continue." Jon says.

"Whoa, now." Pharya shows a hand. "I thought we agreed some things go to the grave."

"You did." Jon scoffs.

Pharya laughs at him.

Later...

Pulling up to the hotel late,

Jon parked in the front, and popped the trunk for the bell hops to take out the bags.

"Alright, we are-" He looks back.

Colby texted on his phone as Pharya practically used him as a pillow while she was kocked out sleep.

"Aww," Jon pouts. "She's lucky I don't have a marker like last time."

Colby eyes him. "Your ridiculous."

Jon snickers. "Come on, Brooks girl, get up." He gets out with Joe. "We made it one piece."

Colby shakes his head with a smile and looks down to Pharya. Somewhere along the ride they all took power naps. When he woke back up, Pharya was using his shoulder as a rest. Legs curled up in the seat and rested on top of his own.

Not that he minded, she was comfortable and looked to be at peace to finally get some sleep.

He gently shakes her leg. "Phar,"

A wince in her expression as she opens her eyes up and stretches. "What I do?" Her voice low from sleep.

"Nothing," Colby chuckles. "Were here."

"Oh!" Pharya snaps her attention around, when she noticed how close she was to him, her face showed the embarrassment. "I am so sorry!"

"Don't worry about it." Colby waves off.

"If I made you uncomfortable, you were more than welcome to throw me off. Seriously." Pharya tells him. "I'm so used to using Nick or Matt as a damn pillow when I took the backseat with them. It's going to take time to get used to."

"Didn't I tell you to stop stressing about it?" Colby tells her, a bit amused. "You just drooled a bit, so."

Pharya gave a light whack to his shoulder when he smirked.

"I did not."

"Honestly, it is okay." Colby gets in her eyesight. "Okay?" Pharya eyes him before nodding slow. "You don't have to apologize for sleeping. Not my first time as a pillow." This made her giggle. "You looked peaceful and I didn't want to bother you."

"Thanks." Pharya nods. "I mean it."

Colby smiles. "I know."

Pharya grabs her bags and gets out of the car with him.

"You got everything?" Jon asks.

Pharya looks at all her bags. "Think I do. Rebecca has our room key, and she's still up so I'm good to part ways."

"I'll ride and karaoke with you anytime." Joe fives her.

"Same here," Pharya smiles. "Nice getting to know you, and re-knowing you two fools."

Jon smirks. "You got no choice. Especially now that your going to be here."

"This is true." Pharya laughs. "Well I will see you guys tomorrow. Good night."

"Night Pharya," Colby nods to her.

A smile to him as she waves back at the guys.

Taking the elevator up to the right floor, she gave the room door a good loud knock.

"Coming!" Rebecca opens it up. "Well about time, do you have any idea what time it is?"

Pharya drags in her stuff with a playful eye roll.

"Hello to you to, Rebecca."

Closing up the door, she laughs.

"We just got in like two hours before you." Rebecca flops on her bed. "How was the drive with the guys? You did tell them I'm stealing you back. This was the only day."

"I made it known." Pharya chuckles. "It was great. Got to know a lot about Joe and his family, he showed me the cutest photos of his daughter."

"Adorable. Especially when she comes to visit us backstage." Rebecca mentions. "How about Rollins and Ambrose?"

"Same as always." Pharya sighs, having a seat on the bed. "Well, Colby not so much."

"Good or bad way?"

"Good way." Pharya nods. "Not the same kind of arrogant guy back then. He grew up, a lot."

"Told you," Rebecca points.

Pharya eyes flicker down to the floor when she thought about him. "I really hope he's happy."

Rebecca scoffs. "Please, with the girl he chose. I doubt it."

"Rebecca."

"Just saying." Hands up in defense. "I met her down in NXT, and truthfully? Not a fan. Cheap version of well, you," Pharya laughs. "I'm serious and I don't like her attitude very much. Or at all."

"You will forever speak your mind huh?"

"Yeah," Rebecca nods. "I know he had a crush on someone,"

Pharya chuckles. "No he didn't. It was the other way around but," taking it in, she smiles. "I am happy to know he found someone despite his bull crap that he pulled with the fiancé he had. Everyone deserves a second chance."

"What about you?"

"Not about me." Pharya shakes her head. "He's happy and I'm going to be happy for him as his friend. Just like he was for me when I was dating Ross."

"That's a person I wouldn't ever mind running over." Rebecca grumbles.

"Now that, I agree with." Pharya stands up.

Rebecca sighs, looking back. "You know just letting it be known how you felt one day might make you feel better."

"Nah." Pharya waves it off. "It'll only confuse things if I were to bring it up. I will just keep my distance and respect his relationship. And you will say nothing or I will dye your hair blue."

"Lips are sealed." Rebecca locks her lips shut. "Don't you see Devitt this week?"

"I do." Pharya smiles. "He's going to be at Smackdown."

Rebecca chuckles. "Now that's a reunion I can't wait to see. I'm glad you two were able to stay friends, even after everything you two been through."

"Wasn't easy," Pharya shakes her head. "Devitt is just one of those people I guess," she shrugs. "one I want in my life no matter what. Same works for him, and strangely, Colby Lopez now fits in that category to.."

"You and Devitt make better best friends," Rebecca admits. "It was a good call to do."

"I ran from a lot of it, but I do think it was a better way to go." Pharya says. "He was my first best friend. Always will be."

"Yeah but who's the best?" Rebecca asks. "I know I'm neck and neck with him. Right?" Pharya laughs going into the bathroom. "Your not helping my confidence about it!"

Closing the door behind her.

Pharya looked in the mirror.

Ross had always been a work in progress of her past that she tried to move on from. If it wasn't for the great men she met in her life, he would have scared her from them beyond repair.

Moving on had to happen and in order to do that she had to leave all those feelings of the past alone.

Not thinking on feelings of something that could have been but not a guarantee. Or bringing up old memories and events that could have caused her to lose one of her best friends.

A fear she never needed again. Playing her role and focusing on her life now is all that mattered...

That's it for this chapter! I decided to start it this way so that people could see why things turn out the way they do during Colby's injury.

Leave a review and I'll see you guys soon!
