Tatooine. A desert planet located in the Outer Rim-some have spoken over the years about how the planet was home to the Skywalker family, who have helped shape galactic history. It had a binary system which Asana called beautiful in color because of the pink, the bright orange and yellow mix when the twin suns set across the desert sands which makes for the most beautiful scene on the whole planet to her. But it was thanks to those scorching suns that the planet lacks surface water to maintain their large population which results in many Moisture farms getting dewdrops from the atmosphere.
Asana brown boots hit the sand the moment she walked from the metal ramp of her starship and into the desert. The female took a deep breath into her nose and hot, heated air from the planet, entered it. This made the woman remember she was not made for desert life because the heat made the atmosphere hard to breathe. It felt like she was breathing heat into her lungs which baked the organs as a thin layer of sweat dripped down her neck and onto her clothes.
The female Bounty Hunter had to remind herself that the only reason she return to such a dust ball wasteland of a planet was to see if the rumors about Boba Fett being alive were real and nothing more. Plus, Han Solo wanted Asana to find out if Fett would come after old smuggler seeking revenge in the years to come. Only she didn't owe Solo anything. Lando and Han, after the defeat of the Empire, went to follow the laws and rules of the galaxy under the new Republic. This act caused many in the underworld to no longer respect the males anymore.
The wind picked up as sand traveled within the air in tiny pieces of dance that danced across her skin and clothes, the small black cloak she wore rippled within the wind. Her blue eyes stared straight ahead at the building of Jabba the Hutt's palace.
If Boba is really alive. He'll be in there. Asana reasoned.
Then the female began to move over the many rocks on the sandy surface. Following the paths created by the movement of the sands to safely travel the paths without getting lost. The female didn't wish to die until she figured out the truth.
Past
The first time Asana had stepped a signal booted foot on the sandy planet of Tatooine was a few years ago after the first Death Star was destroyed. Darth Vader ordered Boba Fett and herself to find out the name of the male that blew up the Superweapon, rumor has it that the weapon could've destroy planets, and bring the male in alive. Within only a matter of minutes, once stepping foot on the planet, the two searched all over the desert for answers.
They questioned anyone.
Boba didn't even bother holding many punches or blaster bolts when it came to the information he very much wanted from the people living on the planet.
It took a few days until they got the answers. Boba was beating a male on a wooden table as Asana watched from the far side of the room.
"His name is Luke Skywalker." The male spoke, gasping for air with wide eyes. He clearly didn't want to die because for something Skywalker had done. Always a foolish and reckless boy that one has been for many years. Now Luke was getting mixed up with the Empire and Bounty Hunters. "He's the one you're looking for. I …swear."
The name meant nothing to Boba Fett and Asana. Neither Hunter heard about this boy before.
But the name Skywalker did sound familiar.
Right. The holonets during the Clone Wars. They always talked about the team of Skywalker and Kenobi. Those two names have been echoed across the galaxy a lot during that time. Only the phrases of Skywalker and Kenobi were like a signal word. Those names were everywhere. Holonet features of their operations against the Separatist enemy have made them the most famous of the Jedi's in the galaxy.
Everywhere Asana went during the Clone Wars children across the galaxy seemed to always talk about those two names, know everything about them, following their exploits like those Jedi were sport heroes and not warriors fighting a war across the galaxy. Not even grownups were immune to the whole event about Kenobi and Skywalker. Asking their kids that did foolish spectacularly about which high-spirited were they; so which were you supposed to be, Kenobi or Skywalker?
Kenobi would rather talk than fight, but when there is a fight to be done, few can match him within skill. Skywalker is the master of audacity; his intensity, boldness, and sheer jaw-dropping luck are the perfect complement to Kenobi's deliberate, balanced steadiness. Together. Those two Jedi made up something called; The Jedi Hammer, which has crushed many separatist infestations on scores of worlds.
Only those two Jedi were killed with many of the other Jedi Knights. In real-life Kenobi and Skywalker had just been human beings, after all. Even if those two had been everything the legends say they are.
"Who is he?" Boba asks, losing his steel grip on the man's neck.
"Moisture farmer and a bush pilot. Lives with his aunt and uncle, used to hang out at Toschie Station with Biggs and...We called him...called him 'Wormie'. Please don't hurt me anymore." The man begged after giving the information to the hunters.
"You called him; Wormie. No wonder why the kid left." Asana spoke, a grimace on her lips.
"I saw him in Mos Eisley with old Ben Kenobi. Heard they were trying to get off the world. All Luke wanted was to get off this Sandpile. Just like the rest of us. I only wanted a drink. One drink. Please..." The male begged, still pressed against the wooden table with the cantina, as many aliens and humans went about their own business. "I told you all I know. Can I go now? Mr. Fett?"
"Yes." Boba whispered, before taking out a blaster and shooting the male, who fell back onto the table. "Let's go to Asana." He already knew where to go. The one thorn in Jabba the Hutt's side for many years on the planet was the one called Ben Kenobi, the Hutt always sent any Bounty Hunter that disappointed him after the man and they never returned.
"Of course." She agreed.
The aliens watched them leave the cantina in silence and out into the dark night of the desert.
It wasn't until a few hours later. Before the two Bounty Hunters come across a hut with the lights on. A blond male was inside with a droid going through some old things. Boba Fett was always taking out a Thermal Detonator and threw the object into the house. It exploded and sent the droid and the boy inside flying backwards.
Boba Fett walked up to the doorway. Smoke blowing out of the hut's doorway.
"Artoo? What happened?" The male screamed-Luke, Asana had to remain herself. "I can't see!"
"That's good. It will make this so much easier for us." Asana mused toward the young blonde haired male.
"What's happened...are you?" Only for Luke to feel the end of a blaster hit him in his head, causing him to let out a loud and painful groan.
"That was the Butt of the Rifle that's now pointed at your head." Boba explained to the boy, almost surprised that someone this young was on Darth Vader's list. "Stay down," he warned because Fett wouldn't mind killing a kid but the only downfall of killing Skywalker was that Vader wanted the boy alive. "Skywalker."
"Sky-who." Luke asked, confused. Trying to play dumb in hopes of catching them off guard before throwing a punch at Fett, which hit the armor and made Luke give off a small yell of surprise. His hand hurt, like his bones hit metal. "Arrghh!" He mumbled, cradling his hand.
"Don't waste my time." Boba Fett warned, annoyed.
"Armor, what are Stormtroopers doing in the Dune Sea?" Luke wondered, still not able to see.
"We're not Stormtroopers." Asana spoke, staying by the doorway.
"You'd have to ask the Stormtroopers. Don't move." Fett warned, taking out the cuffs Vader gave them. These were special cuffs to make sure Skywalker wouldn't be able to use this strange ability called the Force on them. Fett had seen Jedi in action before because one killed his father.
"Why can't I see? What was that, a flash grenade?"
"I said don't move." Fett warned once again, patience running low.
"If you two were gonna kill me, you'd have done it already." Luke reasoned with the male and female voices he was hearing. "Who hired you? Where are you planning on taking-" Boba gave the young man a small kick to the face, making Skywalker cry out in pain.
"You could've walked. But I can just as easily carry you to my ship." Boba wished they had done this the easy way for once, but nothing has ever been easy. Not in this life. Not in this galaxy. It was a cruel galaxy everyone had to live in for the rest of their lives.
Luke took out something made of metal from his belt and pushed a button as a bright blue beam of energy shot out of it. The light danced across the ceiling. All Asana could do was watch and stare in awe and shock like it was the most amazing thing she had ever seen in her lifetime. It was the first time in many years that either Bounty Hunter has seen a lightsaber flare in the darkness of the night on the desert of Tatooine.
Luke stood up straight, blue eyes looking in their direction regardless of the male not being able to see the two hunters. "I'm not going anywhere with you."
"You can't fight the two of us blind. You couldn't fight us even if you could see." Boba remained the young Jedi Knight. Or Skywalker was a pretender. It wouldn't be the first time someone has used a Jedi weapon and not even have any force abilities.
"A Jedi doesn't need eyes." Luke remained the Hunter.
"Maybe. But you're no Jedi."
Asana gave a small smirk. "You have the weapon, yes. But do you have the skills and training? I find it adorable that someone like you is pretending to be like the Knights of myths and legend."
"You're right. I'm not a Jedi. But I knew one once and this was his home." Luke was not Ben Kenobi. He was no Darth Vader that would turn to the Dark Side of the Force for an easy way out. Luke wanted to be like his father before him-a Jedi Knight. "The two of you should've never come here." He wasn't going to let them do anymore damage to Old Ben's house.
Luke moved forward with his lightsaber and slashed, hoping to hit something. He knew the lightsaber hit the metal of the male close to him. Only the male-Fett-moved backwards and hit a button on the gauntlet, trying to large a wire to wrap around Skywalker. Only for the lightsaber to cut through and Luke used his elbow to shove Fett away, which caused the Hunter to trip over R2-D2.
"You're armor is noise." Luke remarked, he could hear it which made a fight between the hunters and himself easily.
Fett glared from underneath his helmet. "So is your mouth." He stated before activated his jetpack.
Within seconds a battle began.
The fight had raged on between the three of them. Asana has launched forward a few times when Luke was more focused on Fett, and gave the young Jedi a few cuts with her knife. The idea was to make the male weaker as the fight went on so the two hunters could being the kid to Vader.
Fett finally got a good hit across the side of Luke's jacket, drawing blood as well.
"You're running out of options, and blood, put down the lightsaber." Fett explained to the boy because everyone within the house of Ben Kenobi knew that Skywalker might end up bleeding to death.
"No. Ben..." Luke spoke, not wanting to give up because Ben Kenobi would never give up on a fight. It remained the younger male about when he watched the Jedi Master fight against Vader. "Ben would never..." Give up.
Asana frowned. "It's kind of sad that you look to the dead for advice."
"Kenobi's dead. He can't help you." Fett remained the kid. The old man that had been a thorn in Jabba's side had been dead-killed by Vader were the rumors-the man was long gone and couldn't help the kid. Just like Jango Fett was long gone and couldn't help Boba Fett anymore.
"He..." Luke spoke, standing up from the ground, blood dripping down the side of his cheek and onto his clothes. He holds the blue lightsaber out in front of him. "He already has."
"What?" Asana asked, confused.
Only nothing happened.
Then a blaster bolt was fired into Skywalker's shoulder by Fett, causing the boy to stumble backwards across the hut. The boy moved his hand upward to clinch his shoulder that was smoking.
Asana looked at Fett, bewildered. "What are you doing?" We need him alive. Sometimes Fett did go overboard. He was known for killing many of his targets.
"We're supposed to bring you in alive." Boba Fett admits, quietly within his mask, his eyes staying locked on Skywalker's movements. "But alive just means breathing." In Fett's book that was all that mattered when it came to the Bounty.
Luke regained some strength and straighten his body, holding the blue lightsaber high into the air. "A Jedi..." he breathed in pain, letting out a few small groans of pain, "Can feel the Force... flowing through him."
Boba Fett was having enough of this foolishness. "Feel this," he said, firing his blaster.
The red laser bolt went straight toward the male, the lightsaber reflected the bolt, sending the red energy flying backwards and into a metal box which caused an even larger explosion. Sending both Asana and Fett flying, only Boba activated his jetpack and sent himself flying into Skywalker's direction.
Both Skywalker and Fett landed on the ground.
The droid- R2-D2-started to beep.
Asana landed on the ground, winded, she turned her blues eyes in the direction of Fett and found him on top of Luke. Blue lightsaber in between the two.
Either one could die now.
The droid came to the rescue of the two males. Flipped a metal box over, which hit Fett in the head and sent the male onto the floor near the other side of Skywalker, unconscious.
Well, none of this went according to plan. Asana realized as she laid on the ground and beginning to blackout. Because neither hunter remembered the droid.
Present
The Imposing Citadel known as Jabba the Hutt's palace is so sprawling and well suited to its ruthless surroundings that it has become the most prominent features of Tatooine's Northern Dune Sea. While inhabited by its original builders, the inscrutable order of B'omarr monks, who were thought to have built the citadel centuries before colonists arrived on Tatooine. When a monk reached the ultimate stage of illumination, his or her brain was removed and placed in a nutrient-filled jar, which could be carried on droid legs. For a long time, it became the property of a fearless bandit and rogue, Alkhara, who added the nine-story tower, the battlements, and the dungeons. When the Hutt crime Lord, Jabba, moved his base of operations to the planet, he seized control of the citadel, taking over the cold and damp lower levels and reinforcing the exterior against enemy air strikes.
Now with Jabba dead his second in command Bib Fortuna, who originally survived as Jabba's chief of staff and Majordomo, who served as a chief steward of the great household served to run interference with local officials and flatter others in power on behalf of their master, but held little authority of their own. The role was a precarious one, and most lasted only a few months before being ousted. Their terms frequently ended in death, often due to taking bribes, being double-crossed, execution or even murder, after drawing the ire of the Hutt master. Only one has ever fully survived by the name of Thurible-Asana didn't know much about the being in question only that they were a rarity that survived.
In 9ABY, Bib Fortuna took full control of the Palace. Who has many slaves and has become a crime lord across the desert alongside a few others that rules over the planet.
Asana arrived at the metal gate and discovered it was already opened.
It was odd.
Only the female headed in to take a look around.
The Bounty Hunter continued down the pathways which lead to the throne room. She could smell the blaster fire and realized a fight had taken place inside the building. She moved along the shadows and tried to keep out of the line of sight. Encase someone chose to shoot at her. The female stopped at the throne room doorway and peeking inside.
"So I guess the rumors were true." Asana spoke, once she saw around the corner and saw Boba Fett sitting on the throne with a female dressed like a Bounty Hunter beside him. Her eyes watched the two only for Boba turn her way, having heard the female's words.
Fett turned. "As you can see the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."
Asana gave a smirk his way. Glad to see he was alive.
"Yeah. I see that they were."
The flashback scene was from star wars comics. It's from the 6th issue. The Anakin and Obi-Wan being brought up in this chapter is from the Revenge of the Sith novel when the two Jedi we're talked about in the first chapter of the book. So yes, Asana has heard of both those names before. The female ever knows about Luke and who Vader-Anakin-was.
Plus, Asana and Boba Fett meet again after a few years.
