"Kai, we need to talk," Katyusha rushed behind her mate. They had retreated to their house. The other members have retired in the outdoor lounge, whereas Tyson and Maxxie left to clean up in her room.

She had practically pulled Kai away from the gathering to talk to him, but he didn't even bother looking her way.

Kai walked into his room, leaving the door open. He was willing to talk. At least for now. She pushed herself inside her room. The physical energy of her body had vigorously drained out. She had no control over herself at this point.

Kai faced her as she slammed the door shut behind them. The atmosphere had never been tenser between them. Not even when Kai had fought more unmanageable teams than he was. Never.

"Care to explain?" Kai asked, his eyebrows up. She pushed forward, closing the gap between them. Her gaze found his out of habit. She had gotten so used to a person who she shouldn't even look in the eyes. He is worse than foe for her. Or at least should be.

"I am just as confused as you are. Trust me with that bit of information." She said, not able to answer his doubts. "It has been eight years, Kai. For eight years, I haven't felt the control of the phoenix. "

He hadn't softened any bit but she wasn't suspecting either one of them too right now. "Everything feels foreign right now."

"Cut the crap, Katyusha. Get to the point."

"You need to leave me as soon as possible," she stated. It was a confirmation she gave. He had no other choice.

His eyes caught the rage once more. "Not even in the name of heaven, am I leaving you alone. Try me if you want. I ain't leaving."

He pushed his way past her to get the door behind them. Katyusha caught him before he could step out.

"I am not done."

"Nor am I," he said, turning back to her.

Her grip tightened on his arms, pulling him back to face her. The grip tingled between them. The overwhelming feeling returned once more. It was for a short period but her body gave up.

She hit the ground on knees, her hands bleeding from his touch. She felt his hands around her.

Her feeling couldn't have been more precise before. She felt every cell of her skin light up at the contact. Bumps layered her body in a split second. He had barely touched her, but every part of her body yearned for more. She felt lowly disgusted by her feelings. How could she leave her body out of her control? Why did she have to fall in love with that one person who she wasn't supposed to fall for? Why?

Tears of frustrations stung her eyes. She could name the emotion of every part of her. It felt like someone had pasted detailed information of every possible feeling left in her body in her subconscious mind. She flinched.

Kai retreated to her original position, his eyes unreadable. If she felt, so did he. Katyusha didn't want him to know the pain of this curse. She never wanted him to be involved. He needs to leave before it is too late for them to return to how they were before.

"You need to leave, Kai Hiwatari. For your own sake."

His eyes, once unreadable, were now as clear. It showed his answer. It hadn't changed.

"No. I am going to understand this situation, from top to bottom before leaving the game. I am going to finish this off."

"Destroy everything, huh?" she protested, challenging every bit of him to go after what he had spoken of. "I'm the root, Hiwatari. Destroy me. End it here. You will be freer than ever. You are willing to sacrifice everything on your way, right? One word and I will be gone. You give me one word, I will depart now. You have my words."

"If it was like that from the start, why did you stay with me?" he attacked back. She was speechless. But she isn't going to go down anytime sooner.

"You are indifferent to the presence of the group. Now when I am allowing you to leave me, a person who has never been more than a burden to you alone, why aren't you doing it?"

"It's your habit to leave the situation and flee Katyusha. Not mine. I ain't a coward like you."

"That doesn't answer my question, does it? Why are you still staying behind? I know for one thing that you ain't going to blindly follow someone to just find them."

"How are you so sure about it, Katyusha. Since I doubt I had another prior reason other than the fact that the most annoyingly clingy person possibly living just left. Without a word, without a lead. What might have brought such a huge change in someone in one night is the question here. State the reason you left, and I will depart not only from here but from life as well. But you ain't doing that."

The words hit the core. While speaking he had closed the distance between us. Even though he stood just some centimetres above her but the superiority this guy radiated was of a person-way out of anyone's league. It didn't at all help her nervousness around this fellow. He just seemed to know what he was doing because this damn dude didn't stop closing in on her.

She held her ground nevertheless. Whatever reason which is keeping him grounded, she will figure out with time. For now, she had made her decision.

" I might be a coward, but I am not illogical. I know what I am doing. You don't."

"Then tell me. What did you get as the most logical output of your several doubts and calculations," he snapped back.

She got up, still wobbly-legged but still could keep her stand. The emotions haven't left her yet. She highly doubted it would go any time sooner.

"I don't know, Kai. For the first time, the results are empty." She showed her palms up at him. He studied her before turning away from her.

"What could be the reason for whatever is happening to return?" Kai asked, gesturing to her and her hand.

"Only in the conditions of major emergency conditions, does this come back. Nothing much has happened recently to indicate any crisis has arrived yet. Even the presence of the Black Bond can indicate the same happenings."

"The Psykicks?" Kai inquired. She gave him a nod as a response.

"The only options left. The Psykicks reintroduced the powers. It has to be related to them."

He didn't say much but it was never the words that were shared between them. It was much beyond words.

Now, with the problems in hand, she still couldn't ignore the fact her sentiments have puzzled her a lot more than she had predicted. Her feelings were open in front of her like a detailed map. She got her answer. She was in love with Kai Hiwatari.

Katyusha stepped back, creating distance between them. She didn't trust herself with such emotions.

Kai didn't even seem to notice this. He stood lost in his aloofness.

His stillness allowed her to openly look at her partner. He had always been uncannily handsome. His younger days' soft touch had turned into harsh lines of beybattles. The paint covering his face spoke for his past. His eyes caught the sunshine with the gleam. He made everything around him seem like they were solely made to support his beauty.

Her heart ached at the sight of him. Every part of her body lit up with such intensity, Katyusha felt herself coil inwards. She needs to get out of this room.

Katyusha left the room. The small distance seemed huge. The explanation going on in her head made next to no sense. But she knew what she needed to do next. The need to work on the main reason behind her leaving the Bladebreaker's side needs to come to an end for Kai to leave her side. Temporarily or Permanently.

Before she knew what was happened, the door in front of the room she had exited from blasted open. A wet haired Tyson appeared right in front of her, tripping over someone's legs before falling right on Katyusha. His sudden bodyweight made her lose her footing, slamming against the wall behind her. One hand skirted across Tyson's shoulder, getting a firm grip on him. The other hand got the pillar right behind her. Tyson pulled away, composing himself in an upright position.

Now she could see the person who he toppled over. Hilary looked petrified due to what happened. Her eyes bulged out, swallowing the scene. She rushed forward without wasting a minute. Her hands gripped Tyson, pulling him towards her.

"You okay? Did you get hurt?" Hilary inquired, looking thoroughly over and over again, just in case of missing any unseen bruise.

"No, Hils. I am very fine. Luckily, Katyusha came in the line. Otherwise, I was sure gonna have a good headache today."

"What was happening here?" Katyusha asked, looking between the couple. His hair was still dripping wet, leaving the floor trailing with water. They got a good explanation to get away from this.

"Well..," Hilary started. Tyson and she shared a known look before longingly looking in each other's eyes. Katyusha grimace. A grunt broke the scene.

Kai elbowed past the couples and Katyusha, pushing them to opposite sides of the hallway before making way down the stairs. Katyusha kept her eyes locked on his back until he disappeared into the room below. A sigh escaped her before she knew.

Her nerves were seriously playing tricks on her. But more than that was Kai's expressions. For a person who doesn't even let a flicker of emotion slide over him, he had a very effectual side crossing his subconsciousness throughout the day.

She had first noticed it when her band members had gathered around. His expression which usually conveyed utter boredom looked startling clear. The kind of desperation crossed his face more than once. At the time, she had stopped the trail of thoughts before she read any more in the scene. But now looking at the way the expression crossed his face again, she couldn't help but wonder.

Is he jealous?
