Charlies POV
Mrs Ichinose had just assigned me to look after this 'Ushio Okazaki', according to my teacher, she is delinquent and a bit of a troublemaker, is it me or is the school making me babysit a troublemaker
After classes I went home to see my step-mother making food and my father and Molly playing together.
"Hey evreyone, im home" I said
"Oh hey Charlie, Dinner will be ready in 10 Minutes" said Lil
"Oh Hi C, how was your day" said My father
"It was good, although the school have asked me to mentor someone" I said
"Oh who is it" said My father
"A person named Ushio Okazaki, She got expelled from her last school and Ive got to make sure she doesnt get to trouble" I said
"Ah cool, I did that sort of thing when I was at school" said My father
"Really" I said
"Yeah it was a kid named Morty Pangborn, yeah he was a right annoyance, but I put him in his place" said My father
"Only after he removed your sherpa hat" said Lil overhearing our conversation
"Yeah, but no one touches my hat" said my father still wearing his old sherpa hat on his head
Me, Lil and Molly chuckled
"Yeah look to see why is Ushio girl is acting the way she is and help her" said Lil as she put our food on the table
"Thanks Lil, thats some good advice" I said
"Your very welcome, heres your food, good ole Burger and fries" said Lil giving us all food
I pick up the burger and took a bite, it was delcious, Lil had a talent for cooking, although not as good as her twin brother Phil (He was a top rated chef after all) Lil could pull off a great dish, much better than my dads Beef and Jello
"So when does Ushio come to your school" said My father
"Next week, according to my teacher, she is going to be staying with her for rest of her academical career" I said
"If she needs anything or a place to stay, we can help" said My father
"I will keep that in mind" I said
"Isnt it summer holidays in two weeks" said Lil
"Yeah, but Ive apprantly got to hang out with Ushio and introduce her to my friends" I said
"Thats really good of you to look after someones wellbeing and keeping them out of trouble" said My father
"Yeah I guess" I said
We keep talking about what Ushio is going to be like and how evreyone has been, then dinner had finished and I was about to leave the table when
"Charlie, I need to speak to you, just me you and Lil" said My father
I sit down, my father had a very quiet look to him, while Lil had a warm sort of smile
"What is it you need to speak about" I said
"You are going to Japan in August" said Lil
"What" I said
"I got calls from your mother for the past few weeks about you going over there to see her" said my father
"Really after all these years" I said
"Yes its true" said Lil
I was quite excited, I hadnt met my mother in years, only stories about her from my father and photos and of course the note
"I want you prepared for the month long holiday, you can even take a friend if you need to, your about to meet someone more crazier than me" said my father starting more serious before crackling a joke
"How crazy" I said
"Lets say very protective about music and her friends and her family and can be as bossy as Aunt Angelica" said Dil
"That should be alright" I said
"Dil, can I speak to Charlie in private" said Lil
"Sure" said Dil
Dil left the room
"Truthfully your mother has been texting me for years, she wanted to know how you had been and how you were growing up" said Lil
"Then why didnt she call or message me" I said
"Because she was very shy about it, she felt awful for what she did to you and it had been weighing down on her for years" said Lil
"How were you able to contact her" I said
"I found her on the Japanese yellow pages website and gave it a ring, thats when we started talking" said Lil
"What was my mother like as a person" I said curious
"She was very kind and very loud, she was also quite tempestrous and smug at times when confident ,she was also very sensitive as well, she was constantly wanting to know more about you and there were alot of similaties between you and her" said Lil
"Such as" I said
"You look a lot like her, you can be a bit tempestuous at times and you enjoy pastries, you have some of her mannerisms and a similer accent as well" said Lil
"Wow thats amazing, how did she ask you that she wanted to meet me" I said
"Well" said Lil
Lils flashback
Lils POV
I had just woke up at around 2pm, I had been on my trucker job the night before and I felt like going downstairs to make lunch and watch TV.
As I had started making a Grilled Toastie, my phone was beginning to ring
It was Kaori Miyazono, Charlie's mother
"Hello Kaori, this is Lil speaking" I said
"Hello Lil, how are you" said Kaori tiredly
"Im doing good, you sound tired" I said hearing Kaori yawn through the phone
"Oh sorry its 3am in Japan, I needed to call you though" said Kaori
"What did you need to call me about" I said
"I want to meet Charlie" said Kaori
"Are you sure" I said
"Yes Im really sure, I really want to see him again" said Kaori
"When do you want to see him" I said
"August" said Kaori
"Yeah that would be during Charlies summer break, yeah he would be available to see you" I said
"Yayy, Thanks Lil" said Kaori
"Anytime Kaori, how have you been" I said
"A little tired, I am peforming my final music tours due the physical strain there starting to put on me before becoming a music teacher in September, but I have been having the same flashback or nightmare in my dreams" said Kaori
"What is that" I said
"The day I left Charlie to go back to Japan" said Kaori starting to cry
"Kaori, Kaori, dont cry, you will see him again, he doesn't hate you, in fact he wants to see you again, Your happy now with Kousei and your son Chopin, Charlie is happy with me, Dil and Molly, Look at this way, Charlie is like a mini version of you and Dil except not being the keenest musican" I said
"Yeah I guess your right, I cant wait to meet him again" said Kaori
"Thats the sprit girl" I said
"I need to go back to sleep, after all I got work in the middle of the day" said Kaori clearly yawning
"Ok Kaori, get some rest and If you need anything else, text me" I said
"Sure will, Goodbye Lil" said Kaori
"Goodbye Kaori" I said
End of Flashback and Lils POV
Charlies POV
"And thats how your mother asked me" said Lil
"Im looking foward to it" I said
Afterwards we watched TV for the rest of the day and the weekend was spent with my friends as we all went to the mall
The next week
Today was the day that I was to meet Ushio, I had walked into the school gates talking to my friends about me going on holiday to Japan which honestly I was both excited and nervous about, excited about meeting my mother again, nervous because I dont know how to react to seeing her again.
I enter into class and take my seat when Mrs Ichinose enters with a girl around my height, she had brown hair and big brown eyes
"Hello class, this is your new student from Japan Ushio Okazaki, Ushio take a seat next to Charlie there" said Mrs Ichinose
