Charlies POV
(Phone Rings)
I wake up at 5am to find my phone going off, someone is trying to ring me. I rubbed my eyes before taking the phone and then I see the name calling me:
Mom (Kaori)
I then after seeing the name on the caller ID immediately answer the phone:
"Hello" I said
"Is this Charlie Miyazono Pickles" said my mother
"Yeah it is" I said
The phone went quiet a little bit before my mother responded
"Sorry for the long wait, Its just been a long time since I last spoke to you, how have you been after all these years" said my mother
"I've done good, I'm a good computer programming student, looking like I can get good grades and have lots of good friends" I said
"Thats good to hear, I heard your pretty smart, do you know what you want to do after school" said my mother
"I dont know, maybe go into video game or software development" I said
"Go with what you believe in and you can achieve anything, do you play music" said my mother
I knew my mother would ask that sort of question
"No I dont play music, just don't enjoy it as much as other things like softball or computers, is that a problem " I said
"No, no, no problem with that at all, you should be passionate in the things that make you happy, i'm just surprised, are you looking foward to seeing me in August" said my mother
"Yeah I am, I looking to meeting you after all these years, are you looking forward to meeting me" I said
"Of course, your my son and I always wanted to meet up with you again, but lack of available time due to performances and my own health really prevented me from reaching out to you and i'm sorry if you feel like I didn't care, but truthfully I've always had you in my mind ever since I last saw you" my mother said
That was a really nice thing to say
"Thats okay, how are you doing health wise" I asked
"Well I had a heart attack a year ago, however other than that I'm doing good and well, one of the reasons I went to the States was because I had a previously unknown disease that a lot thought to be Fredreichs Ataxia or ALS, but it was neither and as a result, my parents faked my own death and doctors discovered that I had a rare heart condition where it can beat too hard as well as occasional paralysis of the muscles and joints that can cause the heart to beat fast to try and support them. I still have to visit the doctors once a fortnight and take special medication, I also had to be careful with food, meaning i couldn't eat canales very often, however meeting with you again as well as a co-owner of my families bakery and teaching music has made me feel better than ever" said my mother
"thats good, do you miss performing" I asked
"Definitely, I love music and peforming it, I like my performance to have life to it and make people happy, also music led to me meeting Kousei and Dil giving me two sons in you and Chopin and although my health became a obstacle in terms of performing, I still love teaching music" said my mother
"Ahh, Heres a question, whats it like to work at a bakery" I asked
"Well its pretty exhausting, your grandfather runs the bakery along with your grandmother and now me. My job is to serve people at the till and we had a busy period recently when we debut our new donut style bread. Its hard work, but rewarding" my mother answered.
"Charlie, hows your father been" my mother added
"Hes been good, hes married to Lil who I know you've become friends with, he's also working hard at his scientist job as well as taking Holly, my other half-sibling to watch the goober movie" I replied
"Good, look I got to go as its getting quite late here in Japan, If you need to speak to me about anything, give me a ring" said my mother
"Sure thing, bye mom" I said
"Goodbye Charlie, see you in August" said my mother
