Charlie was rushing around preparing for the date, he was nervous as it was his first date. Charlie had earlier in the week bought chocolates to give to Ushio for the date. Lil had told him to not worry and that Ushio likes him for who he is rather than just what he looks like. Charlie also called his father who reiterated what Lil was saying as well as telling Charlie to be himself.
Charlie's POV
I exited my house to head to the car as Lil was driving me to the date, I had brought with me the Dango chocolates that I figured Ushio would like, I was still quite nervous as it was my first date, but also excited as I had a crush on Ushio and she had asked me out after dinner with me, her and Mrs Ichinose.
After 10 minutes we arrived at the restaraunt, Lil turned to me and said "Good luck Charlie, I bet she will love the chocalates" before smiling.
"Thanks Lil and see you later" I said
I hopped out of the car with the chocalates in hand and looked at my phone to find a message from Ushio:
"Will meet you outside the restaraunt in 10 minutes"
I waited for around 12 minutes before a car appeared nearby, although Ushio was late, I couldn't fault her for it.
Ushio left what I presume is Mrs Ichinose's car and she looked beautiful, she had done up her hair with a Dango hairpin and a black sparkly dress with Black high heels.
"You look beautiful, Ushio" I said
"Awww thanks Charlie" said Ushio blushing
"I also got you these" I said as I hand Ushio the box of chocalates
"You got me a present, thats really thoughtful of you Charlie, I didn't you get you a present though" said Ushio
"You didn't have to get me anything, look inside the box" I said
Ushio opened the box to find the Dango shaped chocalates.
"Charlie this is beautiful, How did you get the Dango look to the chocalates" said Ushio
"I went to a chocalate shop where you could design your own box of chocalates" I said
"I love it" said Ushio before kissing me on the cheek, making me blush quite a bit
"Shall we go inside" I suggested
"Sure" said Ushio as she took my hand and held it as we went into the restaraunt
As we head to the waiting area, a waiter greeted us and said "looks like you two are on a date tonight, you two are on Table 3" as he pointed us to our table
Both of us blushed a little bit before taking our seats.
"Hows your day been" said Ushio
"Its been good, mostly preparing for tonight as well as finishing a computer game" I said
"Wow, I went to the hair stylists to get my hair done as well as calling my parents" said Ushio
"How did the call with your parents go" I said
"Yeah it went well, my mother is out of hospital and my father seemed jolly on the phone, I think its because he got a big promotion recently" said Ushio
"Wow thats amazing, what is his new role now" I said
"Its some sort of Electrical Manager role in the city which is about an hour and a half away" said Ushio
"By city, you mean Tokyo, the place my mother is from" I said
"Yeah, he got a job in the outskirts of Tokyo, according to my father, its got good transport links to Hikarizaka and it apprantly pays well" said Ushio
"Thats cool, my father is still on his Alien Research trip" I said
"I thought it was only going to last a month" said Ushio
"Yeah until I found out from Lil that it got extended by another month, according to Lil its a very important matter" I said
"I wonder what it could be" said Ushio
"I'm not sure, I asked my father about what it is, but he said that I will find out after I come back from Japan" I said
"It must be important then, whats your favourite video game Charlie" said Ushio
"in terms of what i'm playing now or of all time" I said
"like of all time" said Ushio
"Thats a tough one, If I have to say, most likely some of the more recent Just Cause games" I said
"odd choice, but a fair one, I'm suprised you didn't go with a classic video games like Mario, Sonic or Final Fantasy" said Ushio
"Don't get me wrong I love the classics, but I also like newer games as well, what about you, whats your favourite video game" I said
"I love games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, but I would say the newest Forza game at the moment" said Ushio
"Big fan of racing games, I see" I said
"Yeah I am, do you prefer Jordan's or Air Force's" said Ushio
"Tough to answer, but I would say Jordan's as they have a better colour scheme" I said
"Yeah your not wrong, although Air Force's are more customizable" said Ushio
"Yeah, but you can get Jordan's in mulitple colours" I said
"True, but you can customise Air Force's such as the new Dango Custom" said Ushio
"They've made a Dango version of them" I said suprised
"Yeah they have and there are even MLB versions of Air Force's as well" said Ushio
"Is there any Dodgers ones" I said
"Theres got to be, considering how well they've been peforming these past years" said Ushio
"I might consider having a look at them" I said
"Are you planning on going to college Charlie, after you graduate" said Ushio
"I'm looking at it at the moment, seeing if its needed for me to go to college to get the degree I need for the jobs I may pursue" I said
"What do you want to be" said Ushio
"Not sure yet, I would like a technical computer job in some big company, my father has offered me a job at the Alien Research Insitute If I don't go to college, so i'm still weighing my options at the moment" I said
"very nice, I still don't know what I want to do after graduation, I might look into college, its just what I want to get out of it as well as the costs of it" said Ushio
"Is there anything you dream of doing" I said
"I'm not entirely sure, I love to write so maybe a journalist or a author" said Ushio
"Have you written anything" I said
"I've written fanfiction for the Big Dango Family as well as try and write small novels" said Ushio
"Thats awesome, hows that going" I said
"Well the novels are still not well filled and as for the fanfiction, well I'm halfway through writing it" said Ushio
"Wow halfway is still more than I could write in terms of books, its probably why I prefer programming action or simple games rather than RPG's or Visual Novels" I said
"Don't programmers have to be good writers as well" said Ushio
"Well good at writing code rather than writing stories, If I were to programme an RPG, I would have to hire a writer to help me" I said
"I could help you if you need anything on your projects" said Ushio
"Thanks Ushio, at the moment I'm creating other types of software such as diagnostic software to help fix bugs and issues on computers" I said
"Wow thats complicated, I wish I was that smart" said Ushio
"Maybe you are smart, just in different fields, writing and programming require alot of skill" I said
"Do you really think so" said Ushio
"Yeah you are smart" I said
"Thats kind of you, Charlie, I've got a question to ask you" said Ushio
"What is it, Ushio" I said
"Will you go out with me, Charlie" said Ushio
It was something that I was both not expecting and expecting at the same time, on one hand it was a date and that me and Ushio had been talking for some time, but then again doesn't it usually take a few dates before the man/woman asks each other out.
However then again I did have a crush on her and we had similer intrests and things in common, so after a considerable wait, I gave her my answer
"Yes I will go out with you" I answered
Ushio's face brightend before holding my hand and kissing me on the lips, it felt like the perfect moment, her lips were soft, we had just asked each other out and we were having a good dinner together.
After we were finished kissing, Ushio said "Charlie, your elbow"
I looked to find that I had food stains from when me and Ushio held hands, my elbow must of landed on my plate when we held hands.
After talking more trivial stuff and eating dessert, the date ended with me and Ushio now a couple
End of Charlie's POV
Charlie went outside to find Kotomi and Lil waiting for them, Charlie had told Lil via text message that him and Ushio were now a couple and by the looks of things, she may have told Kotomi about it.
"Hey Charlie, can I have a minute" said Kotomi
"Sure" said Charlie
Charlie and Kotomi moved to the side of the restaraunt to talk
"I heard the good news, you and Ushio are now a couple" said Kotomi
"Yeah it is" said Charlie smiling
"I've got a favor to ask" said Kotomi
"What is it" said Charlie
"Me and Lil have been talking and I have allowed Ushio to go to Japan with you" said Kotomi
"Wow, really" said Charlie
"Yeah, after you reunite with your mother Charlie, can you take Ushio to Hikarizaka so that she can make up with her parents face-to-face" said Kotomi
"Sure thing, I think Lil might talk to Kaori about it" said Charlie
"Yeah I suppose" said Kotomi
After returning to Lil, Charlie went home and started packing for his trip to Japan, ready to reunite with his mother.
The next chapter will be Charlie returning to Japan with Ushio to reunite with Kaori.
