Life of Charlie Miyazono Pickles Fanfiction Part 10
Charlie's POV
Today was the day that I would finally see my mother after 14 years, I had packed all of my belongings and was excited to see her.
I woke up at 4am which was an early start and I would be complaining under different circumstances, but this time was different I was brimming with alot of energy and was smiling constantly as I was getting ready.
After getting ready, me and Lil got into the car and then we drove to Kotomi's house to pick up Ushio and then we drove to the airport.
Once we got there, we showed staff our passports and visa's before eating at the restaraunt at the airport, Ushio said that the food was nowhere near as good as her parents bakery, but it was passable considering the time and day, at 6am we got seated on the plane and then it took off.
"Hey Charlie, are you looking forward to reuniting with your mother" said Ushio
"Yeah definitley, its been a long time" I said
"I wonder what your mother would be doing right now" said Ushio
"My mother would most likely be at home after a shift at the bakery" I said
"Your mother works at a bakery" said Ushio
"Yeah her parents and my grandparents run a bakery known as Ma Fille, she used to peform full time until her heart attack and she is waiting until september when she starts her job as an music teacher" I said
"Wow, what's the plan when we land" said Ushio
"Well after we land, my grandparents will hold a sign with our names on it and they will drive us to my mothers place" I said
"Cool, when are we going to Hikarizaka" said Ushio
"I need to speak to my mother about it, but should be after a few days" I said
"Ah good, I'm nervous about going back home to Hikarizaka" said Ushio
"What are you nervous about" I said
"Just being the first time, seeing my parents after the falling out with them that caused me to move to the United States" said Ushio
"You will be fine, there probably looking foward to seeing you" I said
"Well actually, they don't know I'm coming back to Japan, Kotomi wanted it to be suprise" said Ushio
"I'm sure they will appreciate seeing you again, I wonder how they will react to me" I said
Ushio smiled and chuckled a bit before answering "You'll get along with my mother and grandmother easily as they are really meek and kind, as for my father and grandfather" Ushio gave me a grin
"What are they both like" I said
"Do you know how to play baseball" said Ushio
"Well I do play softball, but how is that relevant" I said
"Lets say my grandfather Akio is a bit of an oddball, kinda of similer to your father, although whatever you do, don't call him grandpa, it makes him feel old" said Ushio chuckling
"What about your father, what is he like" I said
"Has his similarities to Akio, only a bit more stern as well as being pessimistic at times, However both of them do have a heart of gold though" said Ushio
"Well thats a relief, what were your friends like when you lived in Hikarizaka" I said
"Well there was Yanako Takasu who was kind and helpful, she had two brothers the same age as she was a triplet and they are both nice although we were part of different friendship groups as well as her younger brother Leo who would take advice from us and Yanako's two brothers, I heard Yanako and her family are moving to California in September as her parents Ryujji and Taiga found well paying jobs in the States, there is also Yuji Tanako who was charismatic and helpful and also a family friend in Fuko Ibuki who was always kind to me" said Ushio
"I bet it feel great to know that your friend is moving to the same area as us" I said
"Yeah it is" said Ushio
"Do you miss Hikarizaka" I said
"Mostly yes, it was small, but the people there were mostly kind, my parents had a lot of friends from there as well as the food from my parents bakery was the most tastiest things ever apart from my grandma Sanae's bread, oh yeah whatever you do make sure you pretend to like her bread otherwise she might get upset" said Ushio
"Why, isn't her bread good" I said
"Well no, but we have to choke it down sometimes to avoid her getting upset, usually its my grandfather or mother who makes the bread" said Ushio
"Oh, isn't it strange that our parents have bakeries, yours being Furukawa Bakery and my mothers being Ma Fille" I said
"Yeah it pretty hilarious, its like we're rivals as our parents do the same thing" said Ushio as she playfully punched my arm and smiled
"Yeah apart from being in different areas and communties" I said
"True" said Ushio
End of Charlie's POV
The flight was long and was tiring and as a result Charlie and Ushio were tired coming off the plane, it was 10am Japanese Time and was actually the next day given the large time difference between California and Tokyo,
Charlie and Ushio would gather their luggage and then had their passports checked before heading outside to find Charlie's grandparents.
Return to Charlie's POV
The plane had just arrived at Tokyo, Ushio was asleep until she was woken up by the plane landing on the runway, I was tired as I couldn't get much sleep on the plane, but the excitement hadn't died out in any way, in fact it was amplified now that I was in Japan.
I had gathered my luggage as well as having mine and Ushio's passports checked before heading outside which is where people were holding signs.
After reading a bunch of signs, I finally found a sign that read my name and me and Ushio approached
"Grandpa Miyazono, its good to meet you, I'm Charlie and this is my girlfriend Ushio" I said we hugged and shook hands
"Good to meet you too Charlie, its so good to finally see you and good to meet you too Ushio, hope you've been treating Charlie well" said Grandpa Miyazono
"Good to meet you too, Grandpa Miyazono" said Ushio
"Where's Grandma Miyazono" I said '
"She is in the car, we played a game of go fish and winner got to hold the sign and first meet you guys and I won" said Grandpa Miyazono clearly overjoyed as we all started heading towards the car.
"How is my mother doing" I said
"She and Kousei is excited to meet you" said Grandpa Miyazono
As we got to the car, Grandma Miyazono appeared to greet us and immediatly ran up and hugged me
"So good to meet you Charlie, its been so long" said Grandma Miyazono
"Good to meet you too Grandma" I said
After we broke from the hug, we entered the car where we headed to my mothers place.
"So how long have you two been running your bakery for" said Ushio
"We've been running it now since Charlie's mother was 5 years old, so a pretty long time" said Grandpa Miyazono
"Why did you call it Ma Fille" I said
"Its French for 'my girl', the name was inspired by Charlie's mother" said Grandma Miyazono
After reacting with aww's with Ushio, there was a burning question I wanted to ask
"I've got a question to ask" I said
"What is it" said Grandpa Miyazono
"What was you two's reaction to finding out that I existed" I said
There was a slight slience before Grandma Miyazono responded
"Well Kaori gathered me and your grandfather together as well as Kousei in Ma Fille not long after she had been released from hospital from her heart attack, Kousei seemed to know what the topic was about already and..." said Grandma Miyazono
Flashback
Kaori had gathered evreyone together for her welcome home party after being discharged from the hospital following her heart attack, there was her, Kousei, Chopin, her parents Yoshiyuki and Ryouko, Riyota Watari and his wife Tsubaki, Emi and Takashi as well as Takashi's sister Nagi and Hiroko Seto and her daughter Koharu.
After evreyone had a good time, Kaori gathered Kousei, Yoshiyuki, Ryouko, Tsubaki and Watari together as she wanted to speak to all of them in private.
"I like to make an revelation" said Kaori
"What is it Kaori" said Yoshiyuki
"Remember when I was in Amercia for a couple of years and went to university there" said Kaori
"Yeah, go on" said Riyota Watari
Kaori went slient for a bit in embrassment before answering
"When I was in Amercia, I had a son" said Kaori looking down
Evreyone execpt for Kousei (whom Kaori had told back when she was in hospital) gasped in shock.
"When was he born" said Tsubaki
"When I was at University" said Kaori
Yoshiyuki glared at Kaori before answering "Ok, Kaori i've got three questions to ask you, one who is he, two who is his father and three why haven't you contacted him or told us about him"
Kaori took a deep breath and answered "His name is Charlie Miyazono Pickles and he lives in California, I dated his father when I was at university when I was in Amercia and his name is Dil Pickles and I felt it would be awkward to tell evreyone about a son I had in Amercia when I was reconnecting with evreyone here"
"Kaori as great as it is for you to be here, you should reconnect with your long lost son" said Tsubaki
"Well I have been in contact with his stepmother to see on how he was doing, but I have been too shy to contact him" said Kaori
"Why shy" said Ryouko
"He might hate me for not being in his life for most of his life" said Kaori
"Kaori, he's your son, he's most likely not going to hate you, he probably misses you" said Ryouko
"Ok, I will try and bring him over to Japan" said Kaori
End of Flashback
"and thats how I and your Grandpa found out about you" said Grandma Miyazono
"Ahh how far are we now" said Charlie
"we are almost about there" said Grandpa Miyazono
We pull up on a driveway on what appears to be a very nice looking house, my mother and stepfather must of been good musicans
I stepped out of the car and I felt nervous as soon as I left the car as I was excited to see my mother after so long, I kinda froze up until Ushio punched my arm to bring me back into the moment.
The door opened to find a man with jet black hair and glassess which was Kousei.
"Hi Charlie, its finally good to meet you, your mother is in the living room" said Kousei
I rushed in to find my mother sitting on a sofa before she saw me in which she stood up to give me a hug.
"Hello Charlie, its been so long" said my mother
"Hi Mom, good to see you after all these years" I said
"I'm so sorry that I haven't contacted or seen you for many years" said my mother
"Its okay, at least I'm here, (Ushio and Kousei walk in), this is my girlfriend Ushio, Ushio this my mother Kaori" I said
"Nice to meet you Kaori" said Ushio
"Good to meet you Ushio, Charlie you never said you had a girlfriend" said my mother
"We only offically got together not long before we came here" I said
"I see, looks like we got alot of catching up to do" said Kaori smiling
"We do" I said
We all sat down on the living room sofa's and began talking
"So Charlie, have you ever read Peanuts" said my mother asking one of the most random questions ever
"Is that Charlie Brown and Snoopy" I said
"Yeah" said my mother
"Not really that much" I said
My mother smiled and said "I better educate you when it comes to the adventures of Charlie Brown, in fact I named you after him" said my Mother
"Really" I said
"Yeah, your mother loves Charlie Brown and the Peanuts comics" said Kousei who chuckled slightly along with Ushio and my grandparents
"So Charlie, how are you finding Japan" said my mother
"So far, it hasn't been that bad, jet lag hasn't really affected me so far" I said
"Thats good, how is the computer programming going" said my mother
"Its going good, built some small programmes as well as do computer repair work" I said
"wow that sounds so smart, have you planned on a career in it" said my mother
"Maybe, weighing my options at the moment" I said
"Hey Charlie, is it me or do you and your mother look like twins" said Ushio making evreyone laugh
"Yeah they look so much alike" said Grandpa Miyazono
"Yeah, they got similer hair colour, eyes and grin" said Kousei
Well my father was right, I did look alot like my mother
"Well we do look alike, although I'm better at music" said my mother
"Thats true, although I'm not really a former full-time musican though" I said
"Do you play music, Charlie" said Grandma Miyazono
"Not really, no although I do have mom's orignial violin though" I said
"You still have it" said my mother
"Yeah, although I left it in the States in my room, yeah never been the keenist musician" I said
"That's suprising considering how obssessed your mother is with music" said Grandpa Miyazono chuckling
"Yeah, want to see videos of Kaori's first music recital" said Grandma Miyazono
"or Kaori on her first christmas" said Grandpa Miyazono
"No, no, no, stop embarassing me in front of my son" said my mother cringing, me and Ushio laughed
"Nonsense, Charlie hasn't seen you in years, he should know evreything about you" said Grandpa Miyazono
"I will tell him evreything if he asks anything" said my mother
"Actually I would love to see my mom's first violin recital" I said smiling at my mother
"Quiet you, otherwise I will show evreyone your baby pictures" said my mother
"You still have them" I said suprised
"Yep, of course I do, so no trying to embrass each other" said my mother
While all this went on, Kousei and Ushio couldn't stop laughing
"You know, you lot all goofing around reminds me of my parents and grandparents" said Ushio
"Oh yeah, your visiting your parents as well, in fact this weekend" said my mother
"Do they know I'm coming over" said Ushio
"Nope, Kotomi wanted it to be suprise so only me, you, Lil, Charlie and Kotomi know about it" said my mother
Ushio looked down, she knew that she had to apologize to her parents for actions before she left for the States, but Ushio was still feeling the guilt of her actions.
"Relax Ushio, i'm sure they will be happy to see you" said my mother
"Haven't we all got to go to the bakery" said Kousei
"What do you mean, oh of course" said my mother as she winked at Kousei
"What is it" I said
"You'll have to wait and see, Charlie, its a suprise" said my mother
My mother then went to near the stairs before yelling "Chopin"
Soon a door opened upstairs and a guy with a headset on came out and said "What"
"First of all you haven't come downstairs to say hello to your half-brother Charlie and second we are all about to go to the bakery, so turn your console off and get downstairs now" yelled my mother
Chopin went back to his room slamming the door before opening it again and walking downstairs
Chopin looked a lot like Kousei, both of them had jet black hair, although Chopin's was slightly shorter and unlike Kousei he didn't have glasses
"Charlie, this is your half-brother Chopin and Chopin this is your half-brother Charlie and his girlfriend Ushio" said my mother
"Hi Chopin, good to meet you" I said
"Hi Charlie, Hi Ushio" said Chopin as he headed stright for the car
"Yeah Chopin likes his video games, sometimes too much" said my mother
"Its okay" I said as we all went into the car heading for Ma Fille bakery
At Ma Fille
We got out of the car to enter the bakery to find a lot of food and drink at the bakery.
"As a gift to you from us Charlie, we got you all these treats and no Kaori, you cannot eat Charlie's Canaeles" said Grandpa Miyazono smiling
Ah another thing me and my mother have in common, we both love Canales
"Mom if you want some Caneles, we can share, Ushio, Chopin probably might need you two to help me finishing all these treats" I said chuckling
My mother lit up and Ushio and Chopin both smiled at me before we started eating all the food.
Next Chapter will focus on Ushio's return to Hikarizaka as well as the first week of Charlie's adventures in Japan.
