Author's Note: While trying to sleep earlier this week I was listening to the soundtrack for BLOOD+ when this along with a few other poems popped into my head and refused to leave. This is the first in a collection of poems also called The Haji Series. All of them are told from Haji's point of view. For me it's easier to express his thoughts and feelings this way.

This particular poem was inspired by Haji's words in the final episode regarding Saya's smile. However it would fit in before then.

Disclaimer: I do not own BLOOD+ or any of its characters.

I see you smiling, But know it is not for me. That smile…
How long I have waited to see it.
Return it.
In the end
It was the one thing I couldn't give you.
Instead you gave me your tears,
The pain
You refused to show anyone else.
You let me hold you,
Comfort you
Wipe away your tears.
The front you put up for others
Is gone before me.
I'm the only one
You let in,
You let see how exhausting
This burden wears on you.
They may want to,
But they could not understand.
I know you better than them.
Still it was them to bring back your smile.
End Note: Et viola. Also for anyone who read my other story, Kissing Booboos, I had stated that I'd be coming out with another story however I'm in a bit of a dilemna. I'm at a crossroads concerning it. There are two possible paths it can take:
1) Purely romance.
2) Or with more of a plot with action/drama while still a lot of it being romance.
Please let me know what it is you'd like to read either through a review or also e-mail me. I love to hear from people.
