It was February and Charlie was on his way to see his mother, this was the first instance without his girlfriend Ushio as she remained in the USA and had planned to go to Japan in Easter, Charlie arrived in Japan after an long flight to find his mother and Kousei holding a sign with his name, after spotting Charlie, Kaori ran to give him an massive hug.
"Its good to see you Charlie" said Kaori
"Good to see you mom and you Kousei" said Charlie as Kousei had caught up to Kaori
They all went to Kousei's car and headed back to Kaori's house.
"Where's Chopin" said Charlie
"He's at his Grandpa Takahiko's" said Kaori
"I swear Takahiko's space agency is starting to compete with my dads Research Insitute" said Charlie
"Yeah your not wrong, although Takahiko has marketed its new Titans Space Agency as an space police force" said Kousei
"I see, guess what I brought" said Charlie as he reveals the pink violin case
"You brought it with you, can you play it" said Kaori excitingly
"I'll try" said Charlie as he brought the violin out of its case
Charlie then began playing one of the very few songs he remembered off by heart, It was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
He started the piece well, it wasn't dead on perfect to the composers intent, but the recognisable tune was there.
Kaori began singing whilst moving her hands impersonating an composer
"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, How I wonder what you are, up above the world so high, like a diamond..." the song stopped, Charlie froze up, his hands shaking.
"Why did you stop" said Kaori
"I froze up, I can play for a brief moment and then I freeze up, like I can barely gather the notes together" said Charlie
Kaori just sat there slient, but wide eyed, it was kinda her fault from what Dil told her at the Christmas Party that Charlie could freeze up very quickly during an performance.
"Kousei, can you go get me and Charlie some hot chocolates (Kaori clicked her fingers)" said Kaori
"Yes m'lady" said Kousei doing his best Parker impression as he went into the kitchen.
"What did you think" said Charlie
"Until you stopped, you were getting on the right track" said Kaori
"Do you think I need help with freezing mid-way through" said Charlie
"You need an sandblaster in terms of how much help you need in terms of getting the music right" said Kaori
"Like perfect" said Charlie
"Not totally perfect to the composers intent, you don't want to end up like the Human Metronome over there" said Kaori
"I heard that" said Kousei as Charlie and Kaori laughed
"You've got many elements of my style, even elements of your fathers style, although he played guitar" said Kaori
"What was my father like as an guitar player" said Charlie
"Well, he was an bit of an oddball in terms of style, he was good with an regular guitar in an duet, but could only peform solo with an electric guitar, he was kinda like me when it came to disregarding composers intent unless it was an song by Jimi Hendrix" said Kaori
"My father loves Jimi Hendrix to this day as well as he listens to mostly AC/DC and Kiss, although I seen him listen to Maniac by Michael Sembello from time to time" said Charlie
Kaori chuckled "What is your music taste"
"Good question, I like all sorts of music, I've been listening to alot of 90's electronic music like 8pm Till I Come by ATB and Children by Robert Miles, also started listening to Tupac and Biggie Smalls as well as some 80s music" said Charlie
Kousei came in with two hot chocolates (for Kaori and Charlie) and 1 Coffee (for himself)
"Thanks Kousei, see you have an varied music taste, mine is classical, although I do listen to 80s music, Alexa play Self Control by Laura Branigan" said Kaori as her Alexa began playing 80s music
"Thank you Kousei, so mom will you help me overcome my musical freeze" said Charlie
"Definitly, although you must now refer to me as Music Sensai" said Kaori
"Sure thing" said Charlie
Over the next two days, an Rocky esque montage saw Kaori start teaching Charlie, Kaori was nowhere near as harsh as she was to Kousei when she brought him back to the world of music, but she did push Charlie to where he was able to play music in whole.
Charlie, Kousei and Kaori sat down two days after in the living room
"Are you ready to perform" said Kaori
Charlie nodded before he brought his violin out of its case and began playing some Rondo Caprisico to which he played efficiently, he had ignored the composers intent slightly, but them again was less wild than his mothers style.
"That was excellent, you may still need a little refinement, but that will come under time" said Kaori
"Ah, thanks well I kept looking up, thats the secret of life, you know" said Charlie
Kaori smiled "You've been reading Peanuts, how much of it did you read"
"Most of it" said Charlie
"Have you seen any of the TV adaptions, thats the next step" said Kaori
"I've seen the Christmas special which I think everyone has seen, apart from that not much else" said Charlie
"Well you've got a lot of catching up to do" said Kaori
Suddently the door knocked in which Kaori answered it
It was Tsubaki and Watari as well as their two children Lionel and Tsubasa
"Tsubaki, Watari, a welcome surprise" said Kaori
"We came to visit, how are you" said Watari
"I'm doing great, come in" said Kaori as she summoned the two in.
"Hi Kousei how are you doing , Ah Charlie hows it been, good to see you" said Watari
"I'm doing good Riyota, what about you" said Charlie
"Yeah doing great, Charlie meet Tsubasa, she was born in November" said Watari
"Awww she looks adorable, good to see you too Tsubaki" said Charlie
"Good to see you, Charlie" said Tsubaki tiredly
"Don't mind Tsubaki's tiredness, Tsubasa kept us up virtually all night" said Watari
"Kaori's been teaching Charlie how to play violin" said Kousei
"Ah not surprised, wouldn't be long before Kaori would start teaching Charlie how to play, I wanna hear" said Watari
Charlie picked up the violin, this time playing Beethoven, he played it well which saw the small crowd begin to cheer
"Way to go Charlie" said Watari
"Well done Charlie" said Tsubaki
"An improvement over your last piece, there is still work to be done, but well done" said Kaori
"Where's Chopin" said Lionel abruptly
"He's at his Grandpa Takahiko's work, Takahiko promised Chopin to show him the new robot suits, he won't be back for another week" said Kaori
"How is Takahiko's space agency going" said Charlie
"It is going well, the Snoopy has been fully developed as well as the Hizack and Barzam being upgraded" said Kousei
"So what does he actually want to achieve out of this Titans space force" said Charlie
"Basically a space police force, ARI and the Intergalactic Research Organisation tried to police other dimensions, but sometimes they can be out for themselves, this new Titans force will protect our dimension from out of dimesnion occurrences and soon our country will be able to compete with the Dangos and ARI in terms of research with the developments the Titans are making" said Watari
"Yet there are multiple local space alien police forces out there" said Charlie
"But its our planet that needs protecting from outside invaders" said Watari
"Guys, guys, we don't want this conversation to dwell into politics, Watari, Charlie both of you come from differing perspectives" said Kaori sternly
Meanwhile
James was waiting for his mother to pick him up to take him to go and watch Blue Jays spring training
"I wonder how long until she will be here" said James
"Not sure, its definitely not the fault of the transporter, its working perfectly" said Dil
Stu appeared behind Dil and James and said "Hey Guys, how are things"
"Fine, James is waiting for his mother to pick him up via transporter, I definitely don't think its the transporter fault, I made sure it was working perfectly" said Dil as he hands the transporter to Stu
Stu examined the transporter before saying to Dil "Dil, the transporter has transported Haman, but not here"
"Were the co-ordinates correct" said Dil
"Yeah, but the transporter transferred to an emergency location" said Stu
Dil got worried and said "What sort of emergency location"
"Ill find out for you" said Stu as he went into his office and connected the transporter to his computer before summoning only Dil into his office
"It appears she at an hospital, she got injured from an attack with some faction named the Titans" said Stu
