Ok everyone, this is a chapter but one that will take place in the past. After the events of the last part of the fight against Luffy and Kaido, I need to give some hints about Luffy fruit and knowing the Justice League they would be a bit curious on how a boy that can use rubber can do all those kind of tricks. This is not much, next chapter we will be back with the heroes.
A few days ago
A few hours before going to Wano
The Justice League members that were going towards Wano were preparing everything. Flash was making sure his ring was with him, Green Arrow seeing if he had arrows enough, Green Lantern grabbing some snacks etc.
''Ok guys, we will be out in sea in a few hours. We have some areas on the ship that can make you all feel comfortable.'' Said Nami.
''Thank you Nami.'' Said Flash
Superman later saw Luffy just playing with some huge gears that were left behind by some droids that were there to help fix the ship. While Superman liked how gentle and strong Luffy was, he felt a bit nervous leaving a rescue mission in the hand of a 19-year-old who had show to not be the smartest guy in the crew, despite being put as the captain.
''Luffy can I ask you something?" Asked Superman.
''Yes, what is it supes?" Asked Luffy
''Are you sure that you want to lead this whole operation?" Asked Sueprman.
''What do you mean?" Asked Luffy with a raised eyebrow.
''I mean this is sounds like really big operation. The liberation of a country, look I am not doubting you but I think we can handle it better and do a more stealthy operation. You will still fight Kaido but we can do most of the heavy lifters.'' Said Superman.
Luffy now was not liking this and made an angry face.
''Look I appreciate you being worried but I made a promised. I promised to beat Kaido and free Wano. I promised Kinemon and Momo to avenge Oden, I will do whatever it takes to fight back. I appreciate you guys coming along but I will be the one to fight Kaido no matter.'' Said Luffy super serious, that act even made Superman a bit shocked.
''Are you that serious?" Asked Superman still shocked.
''I might be not that smart, but I know what is important enough for me to get my concentration.'' Said Luffy.
The Superhero decided to change the subject. He felt that he hit a nerve and didn't want to cause any problem with Luffy. if he wanted to be good friends with luffy he need it to talk about something that Luffy likes it.
''So about this Straw Hat? Is your most precious treasure?" Asked Superman.
''Yes, Shanks gave it to me when I was a kid. On that day I promised to be a pirate and be as cool as him.'' Said Luffy.
''Sound like he is an interesting person.'' Said Superman.
''Yes, when I was a kid I tried to go with him, but he made me realized that I need it to get stronger and make sure nothing bad ever happen t someone I care.'' Said Luffy
''Why?' Asked Superman
''I made him lost an arm. After that and some other things in my life I promised my self to get stronger, to protect my nakamas and my friends like you.'' Said Luffy
The kryptonian was surprised someone telling him that he would protect him. Even thought he was almost invincible, it was sweet to see someone caring for him so much that he would protect him.
''Ok, Luffy this is very sweet of you but we need to discuss battle strategy and take a look of our options.'' Said Superman
''I don't care right now. We haven't got to Wano yet, so why the rush?" Asked Luffy
Superman looked at Nami with a bit-tired expression.
''So this is how you all operate?" Asked Superman.
''Yeah, its not the best way. We are a really unique crew but trust me he is our captain no matter what.'' Said Nami.
''Yeah, Luffy it's the best captain that anyone could ever ask!' Said Chopper
''Ok, if you all say so.'' Said Superman.
While Superman was seeing if they had enough materials and supplies for the trip he saw Batman near a corner with shadows.
''Huh?" Asked Superman.
He then saw the Dark Knight using sign language to make a message.
''Come here. Now!'' Said Batman with sign language.
The Man of steel nodded it and came up with an excuse.
''Excuse me guys, I need to go somewhere.'' Said Superman.
''Where does Superman need to go?" Asked Carrot.
''I don't know.'' Said Nami.
''Maybe he is off to buy some super snacks. How can we feed someone like him?' Asked Brook
''Well I can cook something really good. Cooking for a super heroes, now that's is a good challenge.'' Said Sanji.
''Does he need to poop. I mean does he uses his cape as toilet paper?" Asked Luffy
''don't put that image on our heads!' Scream Nami and Sanji beating Luffy while some of the Justice League members just watch.
''This is going to be a long trip.'' Said Green Arrow.
While the navigator and chef beat up their captain, Superman was now with Batman and Wonder Woman. For what appear to be an exclusive trinity talk.
''What is it?" Asked Superman
''We were talking about the straw Hats, but one topic kept repeating between us that we agreed on.'' Said Wonder Woman
''Which is?" Asked Superman
''Luffy devil fruit makes no sense.'' Said Batman.
''I am sorry what was that?' Asked Superman
''A fruit that gives the user the ability, from what Luffy show us right now he is telling the truth. However, there is one thing that makes sense.'' Said Batman.
''What do you mean?'' Asked Superman.
''There is something off about this so called ´´Rubber powers´´. In the memories we saw that Luffy was able to do things way beyond rubber. I know he mentioned this Awakened form and combing his fruit with haki, but there is something off. I don't like this.'' Said Batman nervous
''Do you think there is much more that we don't know?'' Asked Superman
''I think is more that he doesn't know.'' Said Batman
They look at Luffy who was just having a good talk with his crewmates, nothing about him screamed evil, but there was still a ton that made no sense.
''What are you theories?" Asked Superman
''I feel that Luffy can be a huge threat not just for the mission but for us.'' Said Batman
''What? You think that for everyone. Do you think this is all a game and they want to trap us?' Asked Superman.
''No, he is not evil in heart, but he is someone that we can't follow our rules. He is a rebellious force. I won't try to attack him, but it would be good to make sure he doesn't do anything that can ruin this mission.'' Said Batman.
''I guess this is a good idea. He is a person with a pure heart, but they way we saw the memories briefly and what the others told us he is someone that charges battle at first opportunity. That is the worst decision to be done by any leader.'' Said Wonder Woman.
Batman just keep looking at Luffy with a determined stare. Almost like he was his next target, in which some cases he was.
''If something happens we need to make sure he stays alive. He is stubborn but we are worst, whatever it takes he will follow our rules if he wants our aim.'' Said Batman.
''Alright Bruce.' Said Superman.
''Do you want Luffy to be someone you can control?" Asked Wonder Woman.
''I want to keep this mission in perfect mode. I don't want us to be found and have things all messed up because of him.'' Said Batman.
''Well we are not in the most stealthy of boats. Someone is going to notice us, but at least they have friends already there.'' Said Superman looking at Sunny.
''Bruce keep calm, we will do the mission in perfect timing. Just trust Luffy.'' Said Wonder Woman.
''I still don't trust him. Despite all this I don't like to be with someone doesn't even know how to user their powers. I will keep a great watch on him during this entire trip.'' Said Batman
Superman just saw Batman leaving the corner to go to the Thousand Sunny.
''By Zeus, I might admire him but that paranoia is not healthy.'' Said Wonder Woman.
''You know him, he won't stop until he knows everything about everyone.'' Said Superman.
The Dark Knight soon was near the entrance of the Sunny, he just wanted to put some bugs and hidden cameras on the ship so the Batman computer could save it and he could make some notes.
''Hey Batman! Do you need more space for your gadgets? We have more rooms in the ship.'' Said Luffy.
''Yes, I need to check every room. Is that good for you?' Asked Batman
''Sure, take your time.'' Said Luffy
Batman just look that in odd, Luffy just let him set foot on his ship and inspect each room alone. He was one the dumbest ´´leaders´´ he ever saw, he just hoped that nothing happen while they were in Wano.
''naïve kid.'' Thought Batman as he went to put more bugs in the ship.
Yes, this is kind a retcon chapter. The reason of this is to put Batman theory that he never understood the Gomu Gomu no mi, like it can make the user become rubber, but it was doing things that rubber wasn't able to do. While Luffy isn't at the level of Plastic Man, he can do things that not even that lovable goof ball can.
Some things I wanted to put here is that Superman still after seeing Luffy memories didn't feel safe having him around because he was not the best leader, Batman also but later they would fully understand why the Straw hats follow Luffy.
I have more chapters in the oven. I have two almost done to deliver to you all.
Also I just want to take this out of my chest. What do you guys think of DC vs Vampire? I mean I thought this was the new Dceased but it turned out to be a bit more convoluted. I mean the twists are great and really make me wanting more. I am glad that team is not going to milk and turn this into a franchise, once this series and the miniseries is over is over. I really want them to kill Nightwing because the bastards is one of those main villains that all he has is charisma and an army, really we see that even in death the superheroes maintain their powers but hey it was written by a writer who loves Batman so of course its going to be a member of the Batfamily. At least they are presenting to be a series with a happy ending, once the vampires are death its over. Its just annoying that we have to wait a lot to get to see the ending, but hey what can we do?
One last thing, for those who are wondering who I structure a chapter I took inspiration of 2 to 3 chapters of the One Piece manga for one chapter here. Well thank you all and good night.
