Chapter 16 A Weapon Worthy of God

The month before the time of my weapon creation passed by in a blur. Research and practice took a lot of my time, but I made sure to visit the hearth every night, even when I had no plans to sleep. Every night, without exception, Hestia would greet me and we'd either spend time talking or simply in comfortable silence.

Except searching for the golden fleece, I also observed the difference my spirit could make in terms of my skills power.

My lightning bolt for instance. Before the monster battle, my most powerful skill, divine lightning bolt, was destructive enough to utterly destroy multiple concrete buildings. Now? My divine lightning bolt was destructive enough to ruin an entire mountain. The bolt dug deep inside the ground while sending shockwaves across the whole camp, even through the magical barriers that guarded us from attacks. I was of course reprimanded for my reckless experiment, as the council of cloven elders themselves had to come and repair the damages, but my research was complete.

And while my spirit stat showed raw power, the skills level showed my control over it. At the current level, I still needed atleast 4 seconds of concentration before I could summon a divine lightning bolt. Which unfortunately meant I couldn't just slam divine bolts upon all of my enemies, even though I had enough divine power for it.

The day when my weapon was finally finished, I left the camp with Chiron's permission and made my way for the empire State building. By flying of course. Though this time I took the normal elevator.

Hephaestus's forge was still as conjusted as ever, but this time my attention didn't even go around the room.

"So, it's done?" I asked giddily.

The Smith god glanced at me from the corner of his eyes. "Not here, lad. I don't keep masterpieces with rest of the trash. Follow me."

We moved from the filled up room and towards the back, a new door appeared. The god pushed open the door none too gently and we entered a room completely different from the first. This was the room worthy of a god; a high ceiling formed with white granite and large pillars supporting the room. It was beautiful. Elegant.

The numerous tools that stood there were kept in a systematic manner. And upon a large table, with two wooden stacks supporting it, there rested a white glove, shining brightly like snow with glowing blue designs on its back.

I was shocked because the colour combination wasn't something I specified. How did Hephaestus know what my favourite colour was?

Curious, I observed the thing as soon as we entered the room.

[Unnamed Weapon (Divine)]

Holy fuck. Divine tier directly? As far as I knew, the tier for weapons and equipment went like this: Common, Rare, Unique, Legendary, Divine. The same as achievements really.

This was a peak tier weapon.

"This here, is my newest creation." The gruff god roughly waved his hand upon the glowing glove. "And to tell you the truth? This was even more fun than crafting bows for the twins."

He slowly picked the white glove carefully with a cloth, making sure to not touch a single part of it directly. And then, he extended it towards me.

"One of my greatest creations in the right hands, and I've got a feeling your hands will suffice."

Instead of picking it up, I directly wore it Thanos style, and the size adjusted according to my left hand instantly. The pure white glove fit snuggly and comfortably around my hands as I closed my fist slowly. All of the glowing blue markings brightened at once, almost to blinding levels. And yet, I did not feel uncomfortable at all. Instead, I felt...accepted.

[Unnamed Divine Weapon Bound]

"The binding is done, you can summon your weapon from anywhere you want. But the fun part comes now; The Testing. Come, lad." The god beckoned me towards another door.

I felt a strange mix of anticipation and nervousness. I've never even touched anything more than a rare weapon before, let alone a divine weapon.

When I first requested my father for a weapon, I'd hoped for a unique class one, like Thalia's electric spear or something. Of course there was also a part of me that wished for a legendary weapon like Thalia's shield but even a rare one would have sufficed.

But now, in my hands, I actually held a divine weapon. My own divine weapon. Something that will be staying with me forever, if I had my way.

I was dying to check it out.

We arrived in yet another different room, but this one was like an observatory. We stood behind thick glass panes, and in front of us was one of the most massive ground I've ever seen. Bigger than a football field, hell bigger than a whole stadium. And utterly utterly empty.

"Now this is basic stuff, listen carefully. The weapon's got three forms. Spear, sword, and bow. You kinda just have to...think, I guess? It's instinctive, you'll understand."

I concentrated on my weapon and instinctively knew the three forms. With but a thought, I released it's spear form.

The white soft glove suddenly elongated. The fingers grew long, before all five of them coalesced together and started changing right before my eyes. They formed a bright white handle first before it's tips got sharper and sharper until it was the metallic head of a spear. I took a moment to simply feel my spear softly, running my hands up and down. The grip felt snug and comfortable, and the body strong and powerful. All 6 feets of it.

And then my eyes fell on its blade. The blade was long for a spearhead, almost a foot in length.

But the balance was so good that I didn't care. It was gold in colour, unlike the handle. The weapon was too similar with my mother's spear for it to be coincidence.

The only difference came when the blade finally stopped forming, and a bluish electric current ran down from the tip of the blade, curving along the whole body of the spear in the form of intricate designs. It took almost 10 milliseconds for the spear to form completely, which was a lot in battle, but I didn't care. It was beautiful, and it was powerful. That's all I cared about.

Except the fact that it was too much like the spear than my mother made for me.

"So, why white and gold?" I asked casually, hoping he didn't hear any suspiciousness in my voice.

"It's not white, lad. It's translucent white." The god corrected irritatedly. "This is the natural colour of adamantine, a metal that is known to be nigh indestructible. Tempered under the Mount Etna and cooled inside the river Styx, your weapon is very much indestructible rest assured. But Adamantine in itself isn't a magical metal, and is same as any other mortal metal when it comes to fighting monsters. Which is why the sharp blade of your weapon is coated with Celestial Bronze to retrieve it's ability to send monsters down to tartarus in a single blow. Hence, white and gold. Well, it was supposed to be bronze but father said to turn it gold for some reason."

Ah, that explains it.

"Why?" He asked gruffly, finished with his explanation. "You don't like that?"

"Oh, I love it." I replied honestly. "This weapon is everything I've ever dreamt about."

"Get on with it, you. We've got two more forms to go after that." The god snapped impatiently, but his words had no bite in them.

They were proud and pleased, and I knew he enjoyed my reaction.

Then he pushed me towards the glass. "Go on then, lad. Show me what you can do."

I opened the glass door and walked towards the free ground.

"I'm gonna release some targets. Still standing ones for now." The god's voice came out distorted from a couple of invisible speakers.

I observed the spear's specifications as I walked upon the open ground.

[Unnamed Divine Weapon]–

30 to Spirit, 10 to Strength, Speed, and Dexterity.

Just...Wow. This was so much more than what I was expecting.

I spun the spear in my grasp, and felt a smile forming on my face from how absolutely perfect it felt in my hands, making sound of crackling thunder and blowing wind as it moved.

Focusing ahead, I saw two robotic dummies forming a couple dozen feets away from me.

Perfect.

With no announcement or preamble, I ran towards them, my new shiny spear spinning under my fingers. I took a basic thrusting form, ducking slightly before stabbing one of the dummies in the eyes, before continuing my momentum to spin in place and slash the other one's head off in a single smooth move.

I straightened up to see my handy work. One dummy had a hole in its face, while the other one was missing it completely. My strikes were fast as lightning, and I was sure that not even luke would be able to react quickly enough before my spear beheaded him.

"Excellent skills boy. But we are here to see what the spear could do for you. Not how good you are with a spear." The god interrupted my giddiness.

But he didn't understand. I wouldn't have been able to move at the same speed and precision with any other spear. It was enough to send me to the moon.

The god wasn't satisfied though, cause two more targets propped up, and this time they were moving. "Channel your lightning now, boy. The weapon enhances your power and control over your energies in all the three forms. You should feel the difference after you test it."

I didn't need to test the spear to know that my spirit has increased by 30. But I was just as excited as the god to see it in practice so I didn't complain.

I once again spun my spear in my grasp dramatically, and let electric discharge coat the weapon. The whole spear actually showed electricity leaping around it visibly. More than that, I had an excellent control over the electricity that flowed around my weapon.

"Yeah, you understand now. Those blue designs ain't for show, lad. They are runes; every single one crafted by my own hands. Go on, launch a bolt or something."

Excited, I let the current build up in the tip of my spear and launched a simple electric bolt towards the moving enemies.

The bolt leapt out from my spear and blasted into my targets, both at the same time, and with such speed that their movements had no effect on its aim.

I hadn't bothered to aim my spear properly, though I was absently wising for a head shot. To my slight surprise the bolts actually shifted mid-air and hit the heads of both the dummies.

More amazingly? Their power. Both the metallic heads had melted a part of their skull with a clear hole in the middle.

The laughter of the god broke through my shock. "Oh boy, now that's the stuff. Those things are durable as hell, I doubt any of your cousins could even scratch them."

The god gave another excited giggle. "And did you see the range, lad!? Last time, your electricity could only aim at melee or close opponents. But with the spear you could target even further for mid ranged opponents. Not long ranged yeah, but you've got the bow form for that."

I was satisfied. More than satisfied. Fuck, I was ecstatic. But I couldn't understand what exactly differentiated it from a legendary weapon, and gave it the divine status. Was it because it enhanced my power? Must be. The lightning bolt, trident, and helm of darkness were all said to enhance the three god's powers.

"Now boy, one last test. Try to keep your power usage to a minimum, we are testing your spear afterall."

At his words, four black warriors formed on the ground, one with sword, one with spear, one with an axe and one with a bow.

"These are the stuff Ares uses when he's bored and wants to break something but still pose a challenge. Defeat all four of these and I'd say you are more than worthy of carrying the weapon in your hands. You can use the sword or bow too, if you want."

[Challenge Received: Defeat the mechanical warriors]

Rewards: 2 to all Combat Skills]

Oh, fuck yes.

"Now, begin!"

But then the first sword warrior burst into action with such insane speed and agility, that I instantly knew I was in trouble.

Multiple large booms of sound barrier breaking reached my ears as the being moved atleast over Mach 30-35. My wings were unleashed instantly, granting me a timely boost of speed and strength, just as the sword warrior came at me with a swing to the neck.

My own spear leapt to action faster than I've ever reacted before, the spear's blade deflecting the sword to the side even as I stepped backwards to maintain my distance.

I remembered one of the most basic tactics for this situations. When fighting a sword with a spear, one just needed to keep their distance and take advantage of the longer reach of the spear, and any sword user would be a goner.

The metallic warrior was no doubt superior to me physically, and Hephaestus said not to use my powers, so it came down to spear fighting.

That was fine, I was quite a good spear-wielder if I do say so myself.

The warrior tried it's best to close the 7-8 feets gap between us, doing feints to enter past my guard, but the spear was a bad match up for it.

Especially a Lvl 4 Spear-Master. My footwork was impeccable as I kept our distance. Any feints that I fell for, I made sure to cover up my guard quickly and push back to keep it from coming closer. Even being more faster and stronger than me, the warrior simply couldn't close the gap.

And then I started attacking, performing multiple simultaneous thrusts to keep the metallic swordsman at bay without leaving any kinks in my defense.

I feinted a thrust to it's face before changing my path in a smooth move and slashing at its chest. The warrior shifted to a side, but instead of counterattacking me, it actually clutched my spear at the side of his stomach, before trapping it with his own sword. It then tugged my spear towards itself, trying to unbalance me.

Instead of trying to fight it's clearly superior strength, I gave into his tug and voluntarily closed the gap between us, driving a vicious kick to its chest.

The warrior did not move. Not one inch.

'...It was a bait. Fuck.'

And then started one of the most fastest exchange of strikes that I've ever participated in.

I retrieved my spear just in time to meet its counterattacks. Its blade continuously slashed at me, never letting off, even as I did my best to dodge and deflect, and repay in kind. We exchanged multiple moves in just a millisecond.

But I never managed to create the earlier gap between us again. There were only 5 feets between us, not enough for me to perfectly balance between attack and defence. It was in my guard, and I was now being pushed back.

I barely dodged a slash to my shoulder (I've learned not to fully block someone stronger than me), before I counterattacked with my own spear thrust that the warrior smoothly rolled out off.

The other warriors were approaching much more slowly, content to give me time which I was truly grateful for.

Because I knew with full certainty, that I would definitely not last long if they ganged up on me. Not without the help of my skills atleast.

Even though I wanted to push back, there was simply nothing I could do due to how strong and fast the mechanical swordsman was. I was barely hanging on in a stalemate due to my upper wings acting as 2nd pair of hands that tried to parry any strikes too fast for me to dodge or deflect completely.

I had a longer reach with my spear but my body was a 9 year olds, while my opponent was a 6 foot giant. I was already at a disadvantage due to not being able to target his head everytime. And now, without proper distance between us to make use of my long spear, I was experiencing this disadvantage in height quiet thoroughly.

So I tried something different.

When the next attack came in the form of an upper head swing, instead of ducking, i blocked the attack. Naturally, I experienced a massive force bearing down on me, but using that momentum, I started quickly backstepping, trying to retreat so I can take to the air.

But the warrior followed, too fast for me to keep running without getting slashed in my back. And I was forced to re-engage.

The swordsman arrived in front of me in a burst of speed it didn't show before, and attacked with a quick swing at my neck.

My spear leapt to deflect the blade so I can follow up with a counter, but it was a feint, and in my surprise at it's speed, I missed it. The sword went from my neck to my stomach so fast that I couldn't do more than put my wings between us.

The sword was blunt thankfully, but the force behind them was strong enough that I felt my wings twist inwards with a crunch.

Pain burst in me and I instantly retreated, staggering backwards.

I focused myself as best I could, but thankfully my opponent did not follow. Instead, it's allies started getting active.

I jerked to the side, letting an arrow fly past me, and with a flap of wings, took off to the air, barely dodging a charged attack by the spear warrior. My wings still hurt a little, but there wasn't a problem in my flying atleast.

'Yeah, I've had enough of this. These simply aren't the type of opponents that I could hold back against. Plus, the quest was just to defeat the opponents. Nowhere did it say that I can't use my skills.'

I touched the well of power inside of me, letting electricity dance on the tip of my spear. I had to marvel at my new control over my powers though, cause it really was a huge difference.

I powered a huge bolt of electric discharge and sent it hurling down the ground. My aim was true, and it struck the annoyingly overpowered swordsman directly in the chest, but I was shocked to note that it only gave a single twitch before becoming normal.

A single moment where it stopped moving before going back to completely normal. What the fuck.

'Did Hephaestus overestimate me? Or did he set me up to fail, giving me a tier 6 opponent?'

My mind was leaning towards the latter. Perhaps to teach me some stupid lesson or something. But I couldn't lose. 2 to all combat skills was too much for me to pass.

So I came up to a simple conclusion. Avoid the overpowered sword warrior, who seemed content to stand down and let his brethren deal with me.

But I had to quickly flap away as multiple arrows flew towards me, courtesy of the Archer who was becoming increasingly annoying.

In just a fractional second, I quickly devised a plan. The sword warrior was mostly likely their leader and the most powerful out of all. If my electricity stuns him for less than a millisecond, how long will it stun one of these guys?

I decided to find out.

So with electricity coursing through my spear, I arrived on top of the spear warrior and jumped down, swinging my spear with all my might while keeping the being between me and the archer.

The bolts of electric discharge leapt at the warrior even as it deflected my spear swing, turning it away with it's own spear before readying to counterattack.

But my electricity shocked it for just a moment, giving me enough time to thrust my spear again, hitting its head directly. My spear lodged itself in its eyes, cutting into it's metallic armour like butter, before I sent a huge discharge of electricity from my spear directly into its skull, which popped open like a watermelon.

'Finally!'

I was quite satisfied with the knowledge that I still had a chance to win this challenge.

'So an ordinary warrior gets stunned for atleast a full millisecond.' My mind absently mused. 'Good to know.'

I slipped past another swing from behind, an axe this time, before retreating back into the air again.

Instincts screamed at me as an arrow suddenly came out of nowhere, but I'd just taken to air and couldn't respond properly, resulting in a hit against one of my four wings. The blunt arrow wasn't able to pierce my wing but the force was almost as high as a strike from that swordsman, making me snarl in irritation at the pain it caused.

Though I endured, of course. I could only imagine how painful it would be without my Resistance.

I took a quick glance at my strongest opponent, who was just standing in its place, a sword in its grasp, not moving an inch even at the sight of it's dead ally.

With a flap of wings I shifted in the air, striking down another arrow heading towards my chest.

We were under clear sky so I should be able to summon a divine Lightning bolt if I was given a couple of seconds. The Archer wasn't willing to give those to me though. Plus, Hephaestus said to keep my power usage to minimum.

Still, the Archer was becoming a nuisance.

So first I needed to deal with it.

Dodging the next stream of arrows, I made my way towards the lone archer standing in the corner. The axe warrior started to follow, but with my wind and wings boosting me, I was faster in air than on ground. And I quickly left it behind.

Dodging another hail of arrows, I leapt down at the Archer, intending to use the same strategy as before.

Instead of engaging me though, the Archer suddenly turned around and started running.

And it was fast.

"Oh, didn't I tell you, lad? They are one collective mind. They learn from each others mistakes." Hephaestus laughed down at me, but the amusement in them was fake.

Even in the middle of a fight, I could sense that. The god was surprised. From what though, I didn't know.

And I didn't have the time to either, as the axe warrior was already in range, too close for me to take off into the air.

So I swung my spear with one hand, launching multiple electric discharges alongside it again. With my other hand, I formed the demonic barrier.

The warrior tried to dodge the discharged bolt this time, indeed learning from their mistakes.

But it made no difference, the electricity was too fast for it to dodge from close range. It halted for just a tiny millisecond, and my spear lodged itself into its head like hot knife in butter, even as I raised my demonic barrier to block the arrows heading my way.

Again, I sent a huge flow of electricity through the spear, and the divine weapon enhanced my electricity further to make the warrior's head explode.

I looked up just in time to see the swordman suddenly moving again. It picked up the fallen spear of its ally and in a single motion, launched it at me.

The sword and spear combo leapt to cut me but I was already on the retreat, absently blocking a stream of arrows with my demonic barrier.

With a flap of my wings, I too to the air before heading towards the Archer in a burst of speed.

I didn't dodge his arrows this time, letting my demonic barrier block them, though it did start cracking under the onslaught.

The Archer tried to aim past the barrier, but my spear to struck down any such attempts with precise hits.

Just as I reached it, it once again turned around to run but I had no intention of getting down on the ground this time

I let my barrier dissipate and formed holy spears, launching them with such speed and accuracy that the Archer was the one dodging projectiles this time.

Ever since I got another set of wings, I was able to form two spears of light at the same time, and it was enough to pin down the Archer.

Holy spears were pure energy projectiles that could melt down a dark creature easily. Or any other living creature for that matter, even if they weren't dark, though to a lesser extent.

But they weren't that effective against these metallic warrior, and I knew my Holy spears won't do more than stall the Archer.

But that was exactly what I wanted. The spears gave me enough time to close the distance and launch a web of electricity at it.

Again, it stopped just for a fraction of a second, and my spear cut into its neck, slicing through the strong metal like paper.

The Archer's decapitated head fell upon the ground with a ringing thud.

Smiling, I whirled my spear with a satisfied hum.

There was only the single Swordman remaining now, but I knew it could defeat me in a fair physical fight unless I used my powers.

I shouldn't take any risks. Really, I should just fly away and blast it with a divine bolt of lightning.

But a part of me knew I would never get the chance to fight an opponent like that back in the camp. The warrior was clearly very high level in swordsmanship, probably even above my Spear-wielding. Around Lvl 5 or 6 in master realm maybe. It could teach me a lot.

Not with my spear, but with my sword. Plus, I wouldn't have to hold back my physical might like I had to do with Luke nowadays.

I closed my eyes, still hanging in the air, and instinctively knew what to do. I Willed the change to happen, and waited for my spear to change into its sword form.

But I knew it wasn't a sword before I even opened my eyes. I had an intimate connection with the weapon and I could feel that it was back in its base glove form, and the glove looked like it was trying to separate into two.

The weapon was asking me to...touch it?

A little uncertain, I glanced at the glass panel where Hephaestus stood.

"Touch the glove, boy! With the other hand I mean!" The god bellowed, confirming what my instincts were saying.

I did as was instructed, and with surprising fluidity, ths glove divided into two parts, covering both of my hands. I thought about wanting a sword, and this time both the gloves started to change together.

Again, the colour remained the same; Twin snow white handles, looking like they were made out of the whitest piece of bone.

As for the blades, they glowed with a golden aura, the Celestial Bronze looking more like an extremely expensive and purest form of gold. The lightning-bolt shaped runes further enhanced the swords beauty by twinkling in a bluish hue.

They were majestic short swords and their balance was light and absolutely perfect to be wielded with one hand.

But of course, they were twin blades. I was proficient in using them, but not as good as I was with a single sword.

Instantly, the swords started melting again, with the golden blades suddenly gravitating towards each other, and I instinctively knew to touch them together.

Both the blades melted into each other, and coalesced together to form a similar looking white and gold sword, except it was more heavier, and clearly a long sword.

I glanced appreciatively at Hephaestus. The god truly outdid himself in making my weapon.

I decided to fight with the twin blades this time. I was happy to know it had both options, but I was trying to increase my swordsmanship here. And two swords were better than one in capable hands.

The sword warrior had thrown the spear aside when it saw me coming down with swords of my own. Maybe it wanted a good fight too.

Who knows.

The moment my feets touched the ground, the being was upon me with a strong horizontal slash of it's Greatsword.

I jumped backwards, not wanting to even deflect such a heavy strike, before closing the distance again and unleashing a quick stab to the head.

Of course, the warrior simply tilted slightly before striking at my extended arm. But my other sword deflected it's strike while I tried to kick my opponent back. The hit didn't connect, because the being backed off on it's own.

And then the duel restarted in ernest.

It came at me with a right feint before going left, and I shifted my position and guard accordingly, but the swordsman again abandoned it's attack mid-strike, changing the direction of it's strike from my shoulder to my head, and I barely managed to lower myself as the sword zoomed past over me. It's elbow suddenly struck down and managed to graze my head slightly, forcing me to leap away in retreat, feeling just a little dizzy.

The being was better than me. Much much better. And also more stronger. But that's why I was still fighting it, wasn't it? Even Luke couldn't give me a proper challenge now due to the huge difference in our physical stats. This right here, was a golden opportunity for me.

Or so I said to convince myself to not just give up in the middle and blast the thing off in a gust of stormy winds.

I initiated the bout this time, charging with a feint of my own as I stabbed my sword to its right knee before swinging outwards at its head.

It dodged both the strikes with little to no trouble. Even the feint.

But I kept up the pressure, wanting to keep a close gap between us this time so that my short height and lower range wouldn't work against me.

I stabbed at it's head once again, while my other sword deflected the blade that was going to block the head strike.

The being jerked back its head in time to let my blade pass through before launching a rough kick and I was forced to stop pressing my advantage in favor of dodging. Normally I would've tanked the kick to my stomach, and took the opportunity to press ahead.

But this being was too strong for me to perform such risky moves.

[Skill Leveled Up: Swordsmanship] Lvl 9

And the effects were already showing itself. Nice.

We re-engaged again, and this time the warrior wasn't playing around. It closed in with two consecutive feints, both of which I recognised and didn't fell for, before slicing at my thigh. I managed to deflected the blade to a side, but it spun around using the deflection to launch a spinning kick at me while bringing it's sword swinging back at my throat simultaneously.

It spun so fast that I didn't have time to take advantage of what would normally be a stupid move. In return however, it's strikes picked up a solid amount of momentum and power.

I managed to deflect the blade, barely but surely, before sending electric discharge coursing down my sword as I dodged back to avoid the kick. The slight shock that it's body experienced, for less than a millisecond, was enough for me to dodge out of the way as the ground cracked under its kick.

I decided to stop the training time and go all out. I already got a level, no need to get my bones broken by being greedy.

And thus, I summoned the lightning storm around me. And it formed almost instantly. My divine weapon actually helped me control the entire storm precisely.

This was a skill that I could perform anywhere I wanted, sort of like my new bread and butter technique. It was like creating my own domain where I was the god.

Flashes of lightning glowed around me in a vortex even as the wind whipped the dust in a tornado. And now, with the help of my weapon, I can create it incredibly easily.

When the being met me again, I knew which of its strikes were feints and which were the true ones with barely a trouble.

While the storm wasn't very successful in slowing or deflecting the being's strikes by themselves (I suspected the bastard's spirit was atleast 400, to remain so unaffected), they still constantly produced electricity that shocked the warrior every few seconds.

It recovered too quickly, but I still got opportunities to strike and damage it, before finally, after a particularly challenging exchange of slashes, thrusts, parries and blocks, I managed to create a fabulous opportunity and thrust one of my swords in its skull. My meter long blade slid inside the metal like it were made of wax, and the sight sent shivers of jubilation down my spine.

My weapon was op.

[Skill Leveled Up: Swordsmanship] Lvl 10

Wait what? Two level ups in combat skill from a single battle? This was a first for sure.

[Challenge Complete: Defeat the mechanical warriors]

Rewards: 2 to all Combat Skills

Bonus Reward [First Challenge]–

1 Level

Oooh yes, baby. Plus a free level? Sweet generous system, I would never badmouth you again, even in my mind. Promise.

"Well done, lad. Now come back here." The god announced, sounding annoyed.

With a satisfied smile, I flew towards him, entering the glass panel. "That was harder than I thought it would be, but not as hard as I thought it could've been after my first exchange with that super strong metallic swordsman."

The god huffed, shaking his head. "It was supposed to be impossible, boy. You weren't supposed to defeat them, they are Ares' toys. Guess those wings give a much larger boost than I first thought, huh. And what was that sphere of power that you created? You fought like a god inside that thing."

"I call it the lightning storm." I responded absently, raising my swords to stare at them.

They were just too beautiful, and deserved all the fawning they could get. "And why did you give a task you thought I'd fail anyway?"

"Well, it was supposed to be a lesson." The god replied with a frown, confirming my suspicions. "That no matter how good your weapon is, you shouldn't get a...big head?...or some-such bullshit..I forgot. Well basically, father wanted you to understand what a weapon is for, and not rely on it too much. I couldn't care less. As long as you make a name for yourself and promote my creation, I couldn't give two shits how much you rely on it."

I couldn't help but chuckle at that.

"I had my own reason to choose those things too. I wasn't joking when I said those things are his toys, lad. Ares may be a dumb little shit, but he is still a god, an Olympian god. The things you struggled against? He smacks them around to feel good about himself whenever someone embarrasses him. Only go after him when you could do the same."

I nodded. I wasn't going to face a god till I reached lvl 600 anyway. I could defeat these things at lvl 430, so I had no doubt I'd be able to 'smack them around' at lvl 600.

"Now lad, come with me. I've got a lot to tell you about your weapon."

And with that, we walked towards yet another different door. All the while I was stroking my weapon, thinking a good name for it.

"First thing first, lad. Your weapon is permanently laced with manticore poison and further strengthened by the shell of karkinos. You didn't get to check it cause those toys you were fighting are metallic. And this goes for all three forms, yeah even the bow form. Whatever arrow you shoot will be laced with poison without assistance. So don't use your weapon in practice duels unless you want your friends to writhe on the ground in pain."

Oh, the bow form! I hadn't even checked it yet. With but a thought, I let my twin blades change shape. They again combined together, and i looked at the process closely.

It felt so-o-o satisfying to observe the white and gold metal melt down like butter and combining with each other mid-air as if gravity had no hold on them.

The swirling blue lights too remained mid-air, like magical floating lines.

They then formed a pure white bow, with a golden string. At the front of the bow's body, was a small miniature head of the manticore, with its mouth open and dripping poison.

"Remember I made you show your demonic powers last month?" The god asked as we reentered his storage room."Well, the bow plays very well with that. You just gotta form arrows, any type you want, and the moment you load them onto the bow, that golden string will give your arrow tips a Celestial bronze coating, and that miniature manticore will lace them with poison. Remember though, the poison will dry out in half a decade, so come back here for me to reapply it."

"This is so amazing." I whispered, touching the manticore's tiny head. It was just a 3 inch head attached to the front of the bow, but it was wet with the original things poison.

"Next, and the most important part, is it's identity as a divine weapon. No questions now. I don't like them when I explain things like this. I'm not very good at this, so only use your ears for now."

He took a deep breath and restarted again. "Father said you've got divine authority in your veins. So you're like a minor-god without a divine form right now. Which is why I made this weapon worthy of a god. A demigod could never hope to weild it. When you start accessing your divine authority and godly form in full, the weapon would help you guide it, control it. Perhaps your divine form will even be as strong as an Olympian's one day. And your weapon will match your might toe-to-toe."

That was a lot to take in. I've never really considered forming my own divine form but it would be a huge power-up if I could achieve it. 100 instant levels? Yes, please. Its like going super Saiyan mode. Though a minor god's divine form was only 50, it was still op as well.

Whatever level of divine form I created, it'll be like having a superior version of my wings stacking on an already op set.

"Well that's about it really. Oh yeah, take this list too. Your monster parts were a massive help in creating this weapon, so if you want an Armor just as grand as your weapon, you must defeat these creatures yourself and bring the trophies to me."

I looked down at the list given and quickly scanned the monsters that I'll need to hunt.

'Medusa's Head, Nemean Lion's pelt, Chimera's Blood'

"...Fine." As long as they were tier 4 and 5, I'll gladly fight them. Though even Tier 6, if I was looking for a challenge.

"Good. Come visit me in my forge under mount St. Helen if you need me. I don't work in this palace that much."

"Sure." I replied absently because suddenly a perfect name for my divine weapon entered my mind.

Stormbreaker.

[Stormbreaker (Divine): Made of Adamantine and Celestial Bronze. The weapon increases the user's control and Authority over Wind, Lightning, and Thunder. 30 to Spirit, 10 to Strength, Speed, and Dexterity.]

Holy fuck. Now this is what I'm talking about.

Now...Now my legend can truly begin.

AN: And finished! An entire chapter dedicated to the weapon, and I don't even regret it. It's a very important and permanent addition to Mikael, so I hope you weren't overly bored.

Let me know what you thought about the weapon. From 1 to 10, how would you rate it? 1, Utterly disappointing. 5, Just meh. 10, Bloody fucking awesome.

Let me know your thoughts in the reviews!

P.S: Btw, Editing is really kicking my ass. This chapter was done a long time ago, but I had to edit Mystique Soldier Ch.5, and then had to spend another 2-3 days just editing this. I don't know how the beta system works but if anyone's interested let me know. I could definitely use some help.
