Author's Note: Heya, guys! I'm bruhmeister, and this is my first ever attempt at writing a story. Before we begin, I'd just like to say that if I made any grammatical mistakes and typos, I sincerely apologize. English is not my first language (though, on second thought, that's a barely valid reason).
Disclaimer: bruhmeister does not claim ownership of any of the portrayed brands in this story, such as Pokémon, Honda, Nestle, etc. (though, imagine if I did, heh.)
With that outta the way, on to the story!
"Go…GO!"
"But, dad…"
"I SAID GO!"
"DAD! DAAAAD!"
…
The air is cold and fairly dry. The sky is light blue, with a slight tinge of orange emanating from the horizon, thanks to the sun. A small breeze blows, picking up fallen leaves with it, lifting them up gently and spreading them far and wide. The grass sways lightly and small particles of dirt pick up, wafting past the small and cozy of town of Twinleaf. A beautiful day has been bestowed upon the Sinnoh region.
In one of the houses of the aforementioned town, a light beeping sound can be heard coming from one of the rooms in the two story house. Though jarring and unnatural, it's simply a part of waking up for its owner. A groggy and lethargic owner, but its owner nonetheless. Slowly, the mess got up to expose his light brown irises to the light, scratching his dark brown hair at the same time.
*YAWN* Pwoah…..Arceus…That thing's louder than normal.
*sigh* "Samuel, you better not have tampered with it, I swear…" he groaned
Tyler was never an avid morning person, but he knew getting up fairly early has its merits. Though, he definitely preferred waking up in a less aggressive fashion. Sighing again, he got up from his bed and grabbed his towel, heading out of his bedroom door, taking in the fragrant smell of food.
Damn, thank Arceus for Josh. Least I don't have to touch the stove again.
Opening the bathroom door, Tyler noticed that two of the towels were already used. Guess he didn't wake up especially early, or maybe Samuel decided to be actually punctual. He shrugged, grabbed his towel and shuffled over to the shower, noting the fallen shampoo bottles.
Yep, definitely the former. How can someone be that lazy?
After undressing, he got in the shower and adjusted the knobs to the temperature. Twisting the main knob, warm water poured out from the head, instantly earning a relaxed sigh from Tyler. Oh, how nice these warm showers are for the 19 year old, especially on the somewhat exposed parts of his body during sleep, mainly the face.
Twisting the main knob again and letting the remaining water rush down the drain, he stepped out of the shower and proceeded to dry off. However, during it, he noticed his mistake.
Shit, my clothes.
Scurrying like a Dwebble over to his room, he rushed over to his closet and rummaged for his clothes. Luckily, it seems like nobody heard him, despite basically barging through his own door. After doing so, he rushed over to the bathroom and finished his morning routine with brushing his teeth.
Walking down the stairs towards the kitchen, the smell from before got stronger, leaving his mouth watering. Entering the kitchen, he was greeted by the sweet sight of fried rice and eggs, courtesy of you know who.
"Mornin, Josh. Damn, that smells fantastic!" Tyler blurted, earning a light chuckle from Josh.
"Heh, no problem, Tyler. Sam said the same thing." Exclaimed the grinning 20 year old with blonde hair and deep blue irises from the dining table.
Josh has been such a great friend to Tyler for essentially his whole life. Being a senior to Tyler wasn't a problem at all, since they both quickly got acquainted.
"Pssh, obviously. How in the hell would somebody dislike that?" The 19 year old dark grey haired teen with almost dark brown irises chimed in from the couch, laying his feet on an ottoman.
Now, Samuel on the other hand is basically a brother to them both. Who started out as extremely mischievous and sly troublemaker, he has since started showing his more caring and friendly side, almost ditching his old personality entirely. Almost.
Tyler and Samuel went over to sit down on the table, not before grabbing a plate of fried rice. Samuel immediately dug into his food, enjoying it immediately. Tyler chuckled at the sight of his friend chowing down like a starving Mightyena.
"Hey, Sam. Slow down will ya? That ain't healthy, dude." Josh said while trying to hide his proud smile.
Samuel stopped for a second. "Hmm, nah." Was all he said before chowing down more, earning a light laugh from his peers.
After breakfast, all three took a position on the couch and turned on the TV, immediately going over to the sports and battling channel. The screen was showing a rerun of a Gym Challenge between gym leader Gardenia against a trainer with a Houndoom. Surprisingly, the grass type gym leader came up on top.
"Hot damn, Gard's got moves. Honestly thought the dude had it in the bag." Tyler commented, followed up by a nod from Samuel.
"Hell, that kid shoulda wiped the floor with 'er. Punk's probably a rich ass with deep pocketed parents. No way a normal trainer could suck that hard." Samuel blurted.
"Hey, it's entirely possible to lose with a type advantage, you know. Types ain't everything. You have to follow it up with experience and strategy." Josh remarked.
"He's got a point, Sam." Tyler added.
"Yeah yeah, but at least he could done some damage. As a Houndoom owner myself, I'm just stunned. Dude's didn't even touched her mons!" Laughed Samuel, followed up by Tyler and Josh.
"Oh, by the way, Tyler. Can you head on over to the store? Since it's your turn to grab the groceries." Josh asked. Tyler looked at him, confused.
"Huh? Ain't it Samuel's turn?" Tyler asked, getting Samuel to shake his head.
"Tyler 'Ty' Whiting, I'm simply not in the mood…and I also forgot to fill up." Sam said in a fake posh accent. Tyler sighed.
"You could've just said that, you ass." Tyler slugged Samuel in the shoulder lightly while getting up from his seat."Aight, I'm going. You guys want anything?"
"Yeah, I'd like some Coke."
"Gimme some Dew, been wanting some for some time."
"Hmm, aight. See ya guys later." Tyler said, before heading out into the cool Sinnohian air.
Taking a look around, Tyler sighed. He loved the cool air ever since he was a kid, accompanied with warm memories of sitting around a warm fire or fun memories of making snow angels in the winter with his dad. His…dad.
Shaking the thought out of his head, he went over to his yellow Honda S2000 sports car. It was once his dad's, which Tyler inherited. Tyler loved cars since he was young as well, always amazed by how such complex mechanisms ended up working together to produce a fun and functional experience.
Grabbing the keys out of his pocket, he walked over and stepped inside, turning on the engine. The glorious sound filled his ears, making him grin widely. After strapping in, he left the driveway, going down the one of the minor roads of Twinleaf.
Tyler pulled the roof down, enjoying the breeze on his face as he travelled down the road, approaching a red light. Giving the car a few revs while at a stop, he indulged the great noise. After turning the light went green, he turned left and went down the main road, putting his foot down a little.
After reaching the store, Tyler pulled up by the parking lot and got out of his car, pulling the roof up and locked it. He grabbed a nearby shopping cart and went inside.
After half a minute of shopping and paying, Tyler went back to his car and unloaded all his groceries into the trunk. Stepping inside, he decided not to pull the roof down, since it was actually much colder than he thought. The car whirred to life, pulling out of the parking spot and zoomed down the main road.
While driving down the main road, Tyler suddenly felt a strange feeling in his gut. A feeling akin to Butterfrees in the stomach, but followed up with a slight dread and curiousity.
Something feels off…very...off. What's going on?
Thankfully, the main road at the time was pretty empty, with only a couple cars around. Tyler proceeded to look around, negating all road safety. He knew what he was doing was risky, but the gut feeling took a priority.
Suddenly, he spotted a lump in a fairly large snowpile in the distance. When he drove closer, the sight shocked him stiff, almost causing him to swerve into the oncoming lane.
It was an Eevee, face down in the snow.
That's it for Chapter 1! I really hope you guys enjoyed the read! Tune in for the next chapter!
