Hiya, readers! bruhmeister, here! Back with another chapter of Roadtrip for you guys! At this rate, I'm churning out chapters faster than Sebastian Vettel spinning out! (If you know, you know.) I've also discovered how nice it is listening to Gran Turismo 4's soundtrack while writing. Honestly, try it.

Now, let's get on with the show! Er, story!

A large building towers over Veilstone City. An array of radio telescopes are placed in front of it, aiming up into the night sky. For what purpose, nobody knows, as is the building itself.

It is shaped much like a castle, with towers on each corner. Though, unlike a traditional castle, this one is much more modern. The exterior is a somber, dull grey, adorned with silver spikes flanking the left and right sides of the towers. A large amount of windows are visible, dotting the 'castle walls' sky blue.

A large, white dome lays atop of the building, complete with a yellow 'fin' running parallel with the front face of the building, which has three sliding glass doors.

Inside the building, a person is seen sprinting towards a large room. The room is was fairly empty, save for one person, dressed in a grey and gunmetal jumpsuit. The previous person stopped in front of the other, clearly fearful.

"L-leader C-Cyrus, s-sir! P-Project Persuasion O-One has been n-neutralized, s-sir!" The grunt stammered in fear. Cyrus' expression remain unchanged, though his glared now carried anger.

"How?" Cyrus barked harshly, getting the grunt to yelp. He gritted his teeth, before speaking. "Tell me. How!?" He yelled.

"O-our s-spies say it w-was d-defeated by a t-trainer, sir!" The grunt stumbled through his words, as he never felt so much fear before. "T-The temperature i-in the area h-has returned t-to normal an-"

Cyrus slammed his hand to the desk in front of him, looking down towards it. He smirked and looked at the grunt, who was now essentially shitting himself.

"Who was it?" Cyrus demanded. The grunt took a deep breath, readying himself.

"W-we don't k-know, sir. W-we couldn't get a look a-at them." The grunt said, still shitting himself.

Cyrus continued his stare. "Dismissed." He spat, getting the grunt to bow deeply before running out of the room. He sighed and sat down into his chair, putting his elbows on to the desk and resting his head atop his clenched fists.

"Naivety runs deep in humanity. That, or sheer ignorance. The prospect of heroism and greatness, shadowing over true advances. Personal glory over the crucial rebirth of everything. Whoever you are, little trainer, be sure to know you have not only dipped your feet into a deep lake, but you've taken the plunge into a bottomless one." He muttered before getting up off his chair.

"OH FUCK!" Tyler yelled in pain, as the nurse prodded his heavily bruised shoulder. He hissed as the pain began subsiding, though the lack of proper articulation in his arm is still ever present.

"Yep, that's a dislodged shoulder. Treatment is quick, but you have to trust me on this." The nurse spoke, grabbing a bottle of pills from a drawer in the emergency room. "Take one of these. These are extra strong painkillers, the best we have. They act quick and numb every pain receptor in your body for a short moment."

"Alright, I trust you." Tyler sighed, grabbing one with his free hand and swallowing, rushing it down with some water. Not even twenty seconds have passed and he can already feel his body go numb.

"Take a deep breath." Tyler did so as the nurse grabbed his arm. He closed his eyes, as he felt a sharp jolt on his shoulder. He hissed in pain, but much less so than before, as it only felt like prodding a small bruise. A loud pop was heard, before he opened his eyes. He noticed the feeling coming back to his arm, which was now fully able to move without hitch.

"Wow, that really did work. Almost didn't feel a thing, thanks nurse." He thanked, though he couldn't help but notice the wide eyes Jewel gave him. "What's the matter?"

"She just….popped your shoulder back in. Just like…that." She said while demonstrating a sudden jolt upwards on her right foreleg. "Ugh, that didn't look fun."

"Yeah, well, thankfully I didn't feel it to much." Tyler chuckled a bit, as he tried to get up. The nurse stopped him, a syringe in hand. "Hold on, sir. We have to inject a special long lasting numbing solution, since the painkiller will lose its effect pretty soon. At that point, you might experience more pain and soreness." She spoke, tapping the syringe get rid of air bubbles.

Tyler nodded and sighed, laying back down. The nurse inserted the syringe and emptied it, before grabbing a shoulder brace from the table and helping Tyler to put it on. "There, you should be good to go. I recommend not doing anything strenuous for roughly a week, so that your ligaments get some time to heal." She said.

"Thank you, nurse. I'll be going now." Tyler thanked, with her nodding with a smile. He looked over at the Sylveon sitting on a nearby chair, who perked up at him. Grabbing his shirt and putting it on, he got up and walked to her.

"Alright, Jewel. Let's go and check up on Autumn." He said softly, rubbing the Fairy type on her neck and back, getting her to smile in response.

"Okay, let's go!" Jewel yipped, having not lost her energy after evolving. She ran ahead of Tyler, who chuckled and followed her outside of the room. He was greeted with a hallway and a sign hanging above him. He followed it to the front desk, which was where the Pokemon Healing Station was located. He walked up to the nurse at the front desk, who smiled at him.

"Hello, how can I help you?" She asked, rather tiredly.

"Hello, I'm here to check on my Pokemon. A Vulpix by the name of Autumn." Tyler explained.

"Oh, you're in luck. She just finished healing a few moments ago." The nursed said as she opened the machine, handing him a Pokeball. Tyler took it and nodded in response. "Thank you."

"No problem, sir. Have a nice day." She asked as Tyler walked away. When got outside, he took in the comfortably cool air of Oreburgh City, since it was surrounded by Mt. Coronet. This blocked off the harsher winds, while still keeping the air cool. Looking around, he noticed the various flats and shops, as well as the clear dusk sky, which shone orange as the sun hovered over the horizon.

Tyler grasped the Pokeball in his hand and in a flash, the Vulpix materialized in front of him. She was fairly surprised, before realizing who stood in front of her. She ran over and leapt into his chest, hugging it tightly.

"T-Tyler! I-I'm so sorry I couldn't s-stay awake and-" She said, her voice quivering a bit before he stopped her. She looked up at him with remorseful eyes, Tyler smiling in response.

"Don't be. I'm fine, Autumn. You did great, more than I can ask from you. We had someone else to help out anyways." He said, pointing a thumb at the Sylveon beside him, who grinned in response. Autumn put two and two together, jumping off Tyler's chest.

"Jewel? You evolved!" She yipped, happy for her friend. Jewel giggled and gave her a smile.

"Yup! I had to in order to save Tyler! Still though, I couldn't do it on my own." She gave her Vulpix friend a grateful smile before hugging her. Autumn leaned into her hug, tip toeing a bit at her newfound height.

Their hug was soon broken as a low growl emanated from all three stomachs, getting all three of them to chuckle. "Well, I guess that speaks for itself. Let's get some food." Tyler suggested, both Pokemon nodding in response.

After a short stroll down the street, the group spotted a diner in the distance. With their stomachs growling again, they quickened their pace and entered the place. Thankfully, it was Pokemon friendly, so Tyler didn't have to return the girls into their balls.

Looking around, he noticed an empty table in a booth fairly close by. He walked over to it, getting the girls to follow him and sat down. He grabbed a menu and looked over the contents, all of which mouth-watering.

He noticed a waiter walking over to his table, stopping in front of them.

"Hello and welcome! I'm Richelle and I'll be your waiter for today. What would you like?" The waiter asked with a toothy grin.

"Yeah, hello. I'd like a club sandwich and Nomel berry tea." Tyler answered while handing the menu to the girls, Jewel taking it first. "Hmm, I'll have bread pudding with Pinap berry slices and Oran juice. Here you go, Autumn." She said, passing the menu to the Vulpix.

"Er…Uhm…Ah! I'll have hot chicken wings, please. And a Moomoo milkshake." Autumn said, concluding their order.

"Alright, I'll have your food soon." The waiter said before leaving the group. After she left, Autumn prodded Tyler's hand, who was looking out the window. He turned and looked at her.

"Hmm? What is it, Autumn?" Tyler asked, waiting for her question. Autumn toyed with her paws for a bit before asking.

"Uhh…w-when will we begin training? I want to get ready for our gym battle…" Autumn asked nervously. Tyler smiled before responding.

"Hey, you don't need to push for that too quickly. We have all the time in the world, since I just realized Pokecenters offer free lodging." Tyler chuckled. This softened the Vulpix a bit.

"Yeah, you have to enjoy yourself. No need to be so nervous, Autumn." Jewel added, using her ribbons to pat the Vulpix on her back. "We're here for you, always."

"Thank you for everything." The Vulpix replied with a smile, feeling grateful for their company. Tyler gave both of them a heartfelt smile.

Looks like Jewel got a little bit more mature after evolving. Honestly, I don't mind at all

Not long after, the waiter came back with their food. Tyler's club sandwich looked delicious, crispy lettuce and tomatoes stacked atop thinly sliced turkey, quartered and skewered on toothpicks. A pile of crinkle cut fries sat in the middle. This was all accompanied by a tall glass of tea with a slice of Nomel berry wedged on the edge.

Jewel's bread pudding smelled amazing, accompanied by a pungent but mellow Pinap berry scent, which laid atop of the brown pile with a light syrup. A dollop of whipped cream was placed on top, with a small sprinkling of cinnamon. The Oran juice that came with helps with cutting through the richness of the desert.

Autumn's chicken wings were nothing to scoff at. The wings were done fairly crispy, smothered in red sauce and accompanied by a few pickle slices. The strong and spicy, yet not irritating smell that wafted off it was amazing. The Moomoo milkshake looked like the perfect relief, cold and creamy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the top.

The food barely lasted a few minutes in front of the group, who dug in almost immediately. Tyler forgot what he told Samuel about eating slowly immediately, since the food was too good.

Oh my Arceus, Josh you're out of business.

Upon finishing, Tyler let out a satisfied sigh, as did the girls.

"Good Arceus, that was fantastic." Tyler spoke, surpressing a burp. Jewel however did not, as she let one out, blushing in embarrassment afterwards. Tyler and Autumn chuckled.

"Yeah, I agree. That was great." Autumn spoke with a content grin. Jewel let a mischievous grin envelop her face, as she sneakily tipped Autumn's glass, which was already mostly empty. Still, the Vulpix yelped as she got splattered. Jewel laughed at her reaction.

"Aww, now I'm all dirty." Autumn pouted at Jewel, who was still laughing. Tyler chuckled a bit and went over to wipe the liquid off her fur. "Honestly, that was pretty funny." He spoke with a grin. "We should probably go to our room." He finished.

Both Pokemon nodded, before he called for the bill. After paying the relatively cheap bill, the trio walked out of the diner, noticing that the sun had set. They began walking towards the Pokecenter.

As they walked, Tyler felt his phone vibrate. Unlocking the screen, he noticed it was a text from Samuel, addressed as "Sammy" on his phone.

Sammy: yo how u doin? Josh asked me to ask u but im lazy

Tyler: yeah im doin alright

Tyler: oh also jewel evolved into a sylveon today

Sammy: dude what no way

Tyler: dude im serious. we got into a fight and she evolved im super happy ngl

Sammy: damn man even helios didnt evolve dat fast and he was high level when I got em

Tyler: hah, guess im lucky. btw how is he

Sammy: helios? ruby tryna get closer to him but he doesnt realize it lmao

Tyler: lmao hope he does tho those two make a nice pair

Sammy: yeah same bois just oblivious as fuck

Tyler: lmao I gotta go now dude cya

Sammy: aight cya ty

Tyler turned off and pocketed his phone, picking up his walking pace. The Pokecenter was now in sight, which was mighty convenient since it started raining lightly. This got the group to begin speedwalking briskly towards the white and orange building, barely managing to avoid getting soaked.

"Yeesh, that was close." Jewel muttered, shaking off a little bit of water that got on to her.

"You got that right, it's pouring now." Tyler spoke while looking back outside, which was now raining harder than before. "Now I'm wet and sticky…" Autumn grumbled, her sticky fur now fairly wet. Tyler chuckled a bit and knelt down, drying her with his sleeve.

"Right, let's get a room first." He said after getting back up again. He proceeded to walk over to the front desk, his Pokemon in tow. He was greeted by the same nurse as before.

"Hello, how can I help you?" She asked in a faux energized voice, clearly bored.

"Hi, I'd like to get a room please." Tyler responded, prompting the nurse to open a drawer which contained a large amount of keycards. She took one and handed it to Tyler, which had the number 42 on it.

"Your room number is on the key. Have a nice day." The nurse spoke. Tyler nodded and began walking towards the elevator, with Jewel following behind and Autumn on his shoulder.

After a short walk, they reached the room. Upon entering, they were greeted by a fairly standard room. A basic flatscreen TV hung on the wall, facing a twin size bed. Beside it was a single nightstand, atop which laid a lamp. A door leading to the bathroom was located beside that. A large window was on the far wall, which gave a view of downtown Oreburgh, which was currently getting soaked.

Jewel immediately sprinted over to the bed. Before landing on it, Tyler caught her by the waist, stopping the Sylveon.

"Uh uh, not yet. You two need a bath. Especially little miss Autumn here." Tyler spoke as he scratched the Vulpix's chin. Jewel let out a sigh of defeat, pouting at her trainer. Tyler of course wasn't fazed, as he found pouting Pokemon adorable.

"Fine…" Jewel said, laying on the floor with an unimpressed thump. Tyler gave her cheeks a playful pinch, instantly lightening her mood. "Hey, tell you what. I have something fun to do for all of us. We'll do it after all of use wash up, yeah?" Tyler offered.

This peaked both Pokemons interest, Autumn responding by looking at him curiously and Jewel by giving a small smile.

Tyler walked over to the bathroom as both Pokemon followed. The shower here was pretty large, as to accommodate larger Pokemon. Jewel noted the size, getting an idea.

"Hey, since the shower's so big, why don't you join us, Tyler?" Jewel offered, not realizing the implications it carried. Tyler however, did.

"Uhh…that's not really a good idea. I like to shower in privacy." Tyler responded quickly to avoid the awkward situation. Jewel nodded in understanding, before getting inside with Autumn.

A few minutes later, a pair of clean Pokemon walked out of the bathroom. Jewel ran and jumped on the bed, feeling the softness envelop her. Autumn leapt up as well, sitting down on a pillow.

Meanwhile, in the shower, Tyler was scrubbing himself when he began thinking.

I can't really imagine what they'd both do if they saw me naked… They should be fine right? I mean, human-pokemon couples are a thing. Though I doubt they see me that way.

Tyler shook away his thoughts and continued scrubbing away the dust and grime off his body. He smiled as he thought of the fun thing they'll do after this.

Back in the bedroom, Jewel was also in deep thought about what almost happened.

I've always wondered how a naked human looks like. All I've seen is Tyler's chest and back. Eh, if it makes him uncomfortable, then I probably shouldn't.

Before continuing, she noticed Autumn fidgeting with the TV remote, trying desperately to use it. Jewel giggled at the sight and went over to help her. "Here, let me do it." She said as she extended a ribbon to press the power button, turning on the TV.

"Thanks, Jewel. I wish I had those…" Autumn mumbled while staring at her ribbons. Jewel returned her stare with a smile. "Well, I wish I could breathe fire like you."

This lifter Autumn's spirits up a bit, getting her to smile back. After a short while, Tyler got out of the shower, who was drying his hair. He wore a white T-Shirt with the Mercedes Benz logo on the upper right corner and black basketball shorts.

He walked over to his backpack and rummaged for their activity, finally finding it. A Nintendo Switch, complete with the dock. He walked over to the TV and plugged the dock in. He then dropped the console inside and grabbed the Joycons off the side, sitting back down on the bed.

"Hey Tyler, what's that?" Autumn asked, eyeing the console and the two controllers in his hand.

"This is a Nintendo Switch. A special device to play video games." He replied, navigating the menu and selecting 'Super Mario Party'. He then handed one of the controllers to the clearly excited Sylveon and the other to the Vulpix. She stared at him, silently begging an explanation.

Tyler then realized that the controller was too small and fidgety for the Vulpix. Grabbed his bag and pulled out a special controller, handing it over to the Vulpix. It was essentially a larger Joycon, though still light enough for motion controls. As the game started up, he glanced over at the delighted smiles on his Pokemon.

He laid back and watched the carnage, laughs and fun unfold, with his hands behind his head.

And that's it for this chapter! Not a whole lot of action, just a whole lot of plot and life. Next chapter's going to be a biggie, since it's Gym time! Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this story so far and I'll be seeing you guys later! bruhmeister, out!
