Summary: Zs'Skayr enacts stage one of his grand plan to take the watch
"Momo, Izuku, Kyoka? Everybody"! He comes running. They all wonder what's up; "What's wrong Allen", asks Ashido. He catches his breath, "Spectral, er, Zs'Skayr, whatever he named himself. He's loose". Midoriya tries to listen, "Calm down, take it slow. We're listening". He takes another breather, "The ghost I turned into, Spectral. Well, apparently he's a copy of some evil entity and well, according to him he escaped when I transformed into the form. He says he needs to possess my body to evolve. Something along those lines. All I know is that he's evil and I can't let him do that".
Jiro and Todoroki are a little skeptical, "A ghost"? Kyoka goes on, "So a ghost is trying to possess your body. Wasn't even sure they existed". Shoto chimes in, "Then where is this 'ghost'? We could all band together to stop him". Bryant scolds Kyoka, "We all live in a world where people have superpowers, and you're being skeptical about phantom aliens"? Uraraka agrees, "Yeah, makes sense. But like Todoroki said, where is he"? Bryant recalls, "He flew away back underneath the stadium. I think he was burnt by the sunlight and that's how I escaped".
Momo asks, "Then how do you propose we find him"? He shrugs, "Honestly no clue. I just know he apparently needs to avoid light so…". Jiro speaks up again, "So wait, if you were able to go into the sun then how wasn't he able to"? Allen thinks, "Well, he ripped off the rubbery 'outer skin' stuff I had around me so, I guess having that is protection. Stupid on his part, but for all I know he can't grow it back. The difficulty is just finding him". Izuku steps up, "Well, we've all seen how powerful Allen can be with his quirks. So we can't let him get possessed. Listen, if we don't find him by nightfall we'll all take shifts so you can sleep. You guy's in"?
They all agree to it, "Thanks guys", he tells them. Bryant thinks, "Well first off, Momo is liked by just about everyone so her and Shoto should go inform Nezu. Izuku, you go check on Eri please. The rest of you, follow me into the halls. Let's see if we can bust a ghost". During the walk, Mina and Tsuyu go one way with Bryant while Ochaco, Denki and Kyoka go another. Tsuyu speaks to Omni, "So, exactly how dangerous is this guy"? He tries to tell her as much as he knows, "Well, he says he can possess people and I proved that during my fight with Katsuki. I also assume he can use those tentacles, go intangible and use those claws of his to cut like Freddy Krueger. Other than that though, I don't know. He might have a few extra tricks with his outer skin ripped off".
In the shadows, unbeknownst to them, Zs'Skayr watches, "So, they're trying to hunt me? Light Laugh, Then I suppose I should find a temporary vessel". Slinking back into the walls, he finds his victim drinking from a water fountain, Fumikage. Floating up behind him, Zs'Skayr possesses Tokoyami, and though resists, coughing up blood in the process, it works. Slipping into the bathrooms he sees his eyes are purple with black eyes around them, "Hm, these will simply give me away. Perhaps it'll be better to slip out of this place and ready for night". Doing just that, he avoids eye contact as he exits UA and heads to a secluded location.
After hours of searching around, everyone gives up once curfew is in session. Momo and Shoto along with the others all meet Bryant at his dorm, "So, Principal Nezu has decided to put the place in lock down, especially considering the last incident. So all of the staff will be on the lookout", she informs them. Omni responds, "Thanks guys. I'm glad you all believe me on this". Kyoka admits, "Well, even if we didn't we're still friends. So, that's what we do for each other". He hugs her, to which she blushes a little. Just then, Denki comes over, "Hey guys, Tokoyami's gone". They all say in unison, "What"? Kaminari continues, "He's gone. Maybe the ghost got him. Either way he's not here. Hope he's okay".
Meanwhile at the secluded dark area, Zs'Skayr examines his new body, "Never quite seen a human with animal's head before, but at least this body will protect me from that infernal sunlight". He then inadvertently activates 'Dark Shadow', which begins to go berserk due to the darkness. Seeing the creature writhe around, Zs'Skayr is impressed as the rampaging bird shadow begins to wreck the condemned building around them, from cutting pipes to pieces to crushing bricks to dust. He gets an idea and executes it flawlessly, leaping from Fumikage, he takes over the shadow. Tokoyami wakes up and finds the possessed shadow looking down at him, "Dark Shadow?! What's happening"? Zs'Skayr speaks through the shadow, "You and your impressive attachment are now under my control. From what I've seen you can't have one without the other. In other words, you both belong to me now".
Fumikage refuses, "Never, villain". He laughs at the bird headed boy, "Conceited, aren't you? I can respect that. But it matters little in the grand scheme of things. Because in the end, now you and your shadow are simply my pawns". He repossesses Fumikage and absorbs the shadow back in, "Now, I wait for this planet's sun to set. In the meantime I should test out this new ability". Back at UA, Bryant gets ready for bed, pulling the blankets over himself, with Mina taking the first watch. She sits in a chair next to him, "Hey Mina"?
She responds, "Yeah"? He goes on, "Do you think...Momo likes me"? She grins, "You like her don't you"? He nods, and Ashido answers, "Listen Allen, I thinks she does, between you and me. But she just is really into her grades and stuff. Now, not to burst your bubble, but I've seen her eye Shoto too. I see how happy you make her with how you both treat each other, but I thought I'd let you know of the competition". Bryant remarks, "You the love guru or something"? She gives a big smile, "I'd like to think that I am". She gets serious after, "Look, it's up to you if you want to pop the 'will you be my girlfriend' question. But in all honesty while you might be ready I don't entirely know if she is, as much as I hate to admit it".
Allen is split, as he admits to Ashido, "Well, I am so conflicted because right now...I kind of have a thing for you too". Her face changes blanks, "Huh"? He chokes, looking away from her, "I also think you're, well...a really cool girl. Awesome power, cheery, and you motivate me and the others. Plus, you're honestly really pretty...for a unique looking girl like you, antlers, bushy hair, black eyes, pink skin and all". He gets quieter, while Mina doesn't say anything immediately, "Honestly, I've never had a boyfriend. I love to talk about relationships and ship people, which is why I butt in or people come to me for advice. But truth be told I've never actually had a boyfriend. Are you saying that you…"? Omni swallows hard, "I've never had a girlfriend to give some truth of my own. I do know how things work, same as you but, yeah, never". She gets a mile long smirk across her face, her eyes closing halfway, "So, does that mean you want to ask me the question instead"?
He again swallows hard, "Would you… like to be my girlfriend Mina"? She tells him, "I wasn't expecting it but, yes". He tries looking her in the face, "Listen, if it doesn't work out, then no hard feelings. We can still be friends Allen, so don't worry. But with that said". She leans in slow, closing her eyes and puckering her lips. Sitting up, Bryant nervously sits up and leans forward. He thinks to himself, 'My first kiss. Didn't expect to do it in bed. I really hope I don't screw this up. Either way, I hope Momo forgives my choices...if she cares at all. But for right now, and wholeheartedly I really do care for Mina, she's a good person'.
Closing his eyes, he puts one arm on her back and place the other on the side of her head, touching her soft, fluffy tufts of hair. Bryant's lips meet her soft pink pigmented ones. Her perfume wafts through his nose, a sweet scent of roses, and she begins to put her arms around his back too. They finally pull away, "Wow…", Allen blushes, "That was...really nice". Mina winks, "You're a good kisser. At least it felt good to me, not sure exactly what would be considered as such". She notices something in his bed poking up, "Giggles, I must be really good then". He is embarrassed, "Listen Bryant, get some sleep. Just so I don't keep you up I'll send Kyoka in a couple minutes. Goodnight...boyfriend", she winks again as she closes the door".
Back with Zs'Skayr, nighttime finally arrives, and he is prepared to make his move, "Now human, it's time for us to seek out more subservients". Exiting his hideout, Zs'Skayr takes Fumikage and his body to find someone. Walking into the streets, a person in a car accidentally hits him, "Hey kid, are you okay"? The possessed Tokoyami grins evilly, "Never better", before sticking his actual arm out of Fumikage's and shoving it inside the man's chest. In an instant, the man is transformed into an Ectonurite identical to Spectral and Zs'Skayr but of course with the outer skin layer. Some onlookers see this, "Oh my God, what did he just do to that guy"? He commands his new slave, "Now my minion, convert anyone you can".
Taking his orders, the former human flies into the woman who said something, turning her too, and one after another there's a whole street of Ectonurites. "Now that I've got some good numbers, perhaps this will rouse the attention of these so called 'Heroes', he contemplates. Sure enough, a few officers show up but they are converted as well, until finally a Hero shows up, in the form of Electplant. One of the many slaves tries to convert him but due to his electricity generation this turns out to be for not. Due to it being a type of light, the slaves back off, and Zs'Skayr must take maters into his own hands.
He makes the shadow come out and proceeds to possess it, and due to the darkness, it grows exponentially strong and big. Elecplant blasts the shadow which weakens it considerably, but with a strong enough thwack, the Hero is sent flying away, "It appears I must wait for another one". Back at UA, Bryant is trying to sleep, when Kyoka barges in and turns the lights on. He groans and rubs his eyes, "What? I'm trying to go to bed". She tells him, "The ghost is on the news".
