Tyler: Hmm? Oh, hey there Jewel. I'm making some stir fry- *flicks wok* -there we go. I've been trying out a few recipes since Josh is away.
Autumn: *sniff* Something smells really good…
Jewel: Hey, Autumn! Tyler's cooking right now and I agree, it does smell really good!
Tyler: *chuckles* Thank you, ladies. Why don't you two go fetch the others? This should be done soon.
Jewel: No problem, Tyler! C'mon, Autumn, let's go!
Autumn: *nods with a smile*
*a few steps away*
Samuel: Fucking hell, I can't believe they fired him! He was great at making movies!
BM: Dude, I know right? Such a BS move.
Jewel: Hey, Bruh and Sam! Tyler asked us to get you guys since lunch is almost done!
BM: Sweet! Oh, sorry, got a bit carried away there. Welcome back to another chapter of Roadtrip! Cynthia is Tyler's mother, huh? Who would've thought the former champion of the Sinnoh region would be our boi's mom? Certainly not me… wait that doesn't make any sense.
BM: Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the experimental Bonus chapter. If you did, I'll be sure to make more since I have a whole menagerie of skits and situations to write! Also, I should point out that next chapter has a battle! Been some time since I've done one, eh? Anyways, I should probably get a move on to the story since you're most definitely here for that!
BM: *enters dining room*
Samuel: Ah shit, sorry Bruh. We kinda finished all of it…
BM: …MOTHER F-

"What are you talking about…?" Tyler inquire with a confused and shocked expression, more of the former. Cynthia sighed.
"Look, I know its hard to believe, but I am your mother. I could never forget what your father did to form the fine young man that you are. Like his signature piece of advice…" Cynthia spoke softly with a motherly tone before trailing off with a slight pause.
"Protect them and they will do the same for you." Both mother and son spoke simultaneously, catching Tyler off guard. He now looked at Cynthia with newfound eyes, not just as the former Champion of Sinnoh, but as a mother too. His mother.
"M-Mom..." He muttered through his tears. He had missed out on so much love and care from her for so long and now he had found her. Or rather, she found him as she was the one who rescued them.
"Son…" Cynthia muttered in a soft voice before they both stood up and locked into a tight hug. The mother/son love emanated strongly. Jewel and Noir smiled. Ava and Autumn had tears in their eyes. Epsilon looked on with a happy look in its eyes.
"I-I have so much to tell you. S-So much happened since dad passed…" Tyler spoke with tears still in his eyes. Cynthia reached up and wiped them away before adopting a slightly more serious look.
"I know, Tyler. I would love to listen to them but we have to focus on the task at hand. The whole of Sinnoh is in danger." Cynthia explained calmly with her caring look still present. Tyler nodded but still had to ask a few important questions.
"Alright. But I gotta ask, I can see how they concern a former Champion, but what can I do?" Tyler inquired.
"Before I can answer that question I must ask one myself. Have you had any odd experiences before? Something along the lines of prediction and such?" Cynthia asked back as they both sat on the couch.
"Well, I've been having these gut feelings recently. They're actually the reason how I met every single member of my team." Tyler spoke as he stroked Jewel, getting her to giggle.
"Heh, I can tell you took your father's advice to heart. Anyways, those gut feelings aren't just normal gut feelings. See, all champions of every single region have a special power unique to them. We call them Abilities since they share some similarities to Pokemon Abilities, though these can be much more complex in some cases. For example, I recall Lance having the ability to command any Dragon type with incredible efficiency telepathically." Cynthia explained calmly which confused Tyler. He had abilities?
"Wait, so you're saying I have one of those abilities too?" Tyler asked to confirm his guess. Cynthia nodded with a smile.
"You do. It's a simple but effective one. It works similarly to the move Detect, though this one specifically detects those in need. Sight amplifies this ability greatly. So, you can naturally detect anybody in trouble but that detection is amplified greatly if you can actually see them." Cynthia continued as she sipped a cup of tea.
"Hmm, that makes sense. I had a small feeling when I drove near the area I found Jewel and Autumn. Then I felt it full force when I actually saw them. I couldn't just leave them and the rest is history." He spoke with a smile as he pick up both Jewel and Autumn, catching the latter by surprise as evident by her blush. Cynthia simply smiled as she was entertained by the fact of a bashful Ninetales.
"Anyways, what does my ability have to do with saving the world?" Tyler inquired as he rested his hands on Jewel and Autumn, gently stroking them.
"Well, to be honest saving the world is kind of an exaggeration right know, but we're not taking any risks. We've been receiving reports from our Ranger force about a group of ill willed individuals called Team Galactic. Whether they are correlated with the other evil teams from other regions like Team Rocket, Team Flare, Team Magma, etc. is unknown, but we believe their naming scheme is coincidental. As I said, we're not taking risks, so this is why we're preparing for the worst." Cynthia explained.
"Oh, those bastards. I've met them only twice and I already hate them with a burning passion" Tyler spoke bitterly while shaking his head.
"Twice? You've run into them before yesterday?" Cynthia inquired with a slight head tilt.
"Yep, I have. See, I was given Ava," Tyler pointed at the attentive Ice type as he spoke. "From a researcher from Oreburgh's Mining Museum. He entrusted her to me after Roark and I helped to retrieve her fossil after it had been stolen by a Galactic grunt. Then they went for her again and that's when you came in. Thanks for that, mom." Tyler ended with a smile.
"No problem, son." She replied with her own. A light "aww" could be heard before it was silenced by a weak Brick Break and an "ow".
"As I was saying, we also have evidence to show that Team Galactic are planning something huge. Remember the incident at the Great Marsh?" Cynthia explained and asked, taking a sip of tea.
"Yeah, the 'tears' in the fabric of space or something like that, right?" Tyler answered.
"Mhmm, guess who were the ones behind them." Cynthia said.
"Them?" Tyler answered fairly quickly.
"Yeah, them. And the temperature drop in Lake Verity? The one which was caused by an abnormally strong Frosslass?" Cynthia asked again.
"Wait, that was them also? I thought that Frosslass was just naturally that strong." Tyler replied with a fair bit of surprise.
"Hold on, you were the one who defeated it?" Cynthia asked with Tyler nodding in response.
"I'm impressed. It was atleast a level 40 according to our examinations. And judging by the distance from Twinleaf, I'm guessing you've just started your journey?" Cynthia inquired, taking Tyler by surprise.
"Wait, how did you know I'm on a journey?" Tyler asked with suspicion. Cynthia smiled a bit before explaining.
"My ability is Foresight. I can take occasional glimpses into the future. I just happened to see you setting off on your journey a few days ago. Though, I couldn't see anymore than that. It's also how I could locate you since I foresaw it." Cynthia explained.
"Anyways, I won't be a burden on your journey, son. But I do hope you can offer your help when we need it. I'll give you a call when the time's right." Cynthia continued as Tyler listened.
"Of course, anything to stop them. And what'd you mean by 'we'?" Tyler asked.
"Oh right. Well, it's pretty obvious I can't deal with this issue alone. So me and Lucas gathered a few trainers with exceptional battling skill and potential. Right now we have five: Vince Bradford from Oreburgh, Amanda Smith from Eterna, you and-" Cynthia spoke before being interrupted by knocking on the door. "Oh that must be him."
Cynthia got up from the sofa and made her way to the front door, leaving Tyler to ponder on who the last person was. He didn't have to wait for long as he heard a male voice and Cynthia giving her greetings.
A few seconds later, Cynthia walked in with a very familiar face with her. The unmistakable sight of blond hair, blue eyes and a slightly annoyed Absol could only mean one thing.
"Josh!?" Tyler, Autumn, Jewel, Ava, Epsilon and Noir exclaimed.
"Tyler!?" Josh and Ruby exclaimed back.
"Oh, you two know each other?" Cynthia inquired. The two ignored her for a bit as they both highfived.
"Damn, you're the fourth member? Why didn't you tell me!" Tyler exclaimed excitedly.
"Well, it wasn't something to just tell everyone about. Though, looks like I don't need to say anything." Josh chuckled.
"Josh here is exceptional at anything tech related, not to mention a pretty talented battler with his Abs-" Cynthia spoke before being interrupted.
"Ah, Ruby. I have a name you know." Ruby pouted.
"Right, with Ruby. And Tyler here is my son." Cynthia explained which Josh replied with wide eyes.
"W-wait, you're his mom? Wow, that's why I've never met you…" Josh muttered while Tyler chuckled.
"Dude, chill. I hadn't met her until today as well." He replied with a laugh, getting Cynthia to smile and Josh to chuckle a bit. After a few minutes of talking about everyday stuff and Team Galactic with some comments made about Ruby crushing on Helios and Tyler introducing Josh to Noir, Ava and Epsilon, Josh and Tyler bid farewell to Cynthia, though not before Tyler gave her a big hug. She had some more work to do so she had to cut their meeting short.
"Dude, I still can't believe both of us are helping out the former champion. And it's even more amazing to know that she's my mom!" Tyler commented happily.
"Man, I can't tell how excited you are. Maybe yell more." Josh joked with a small smile as he moved towards his Porsche. Ruby was making light conversation with Jewel, Autumn and Noir as they introduced her to Ava and Epsilon.
"Alright, I'm gonna go register at the Gym." Tyler spoke which got his team excited. "And then I'll probably get some food."
"Oh, great. I am heading over to the Pokecenter to rest for a bit, since I've been on the road for a two days." Josh explained as he stepped inside with Ruby following after she said her goodbye's. "See you later, Tyler. Oh, nice car by the way. Love Subaru's"
"Aight, see ya Josh. And thanks." Tyler said as Josh and Ruby left, the Porsche's sound still audible a block away.
"Wow, I didn't expect that." Autumn spoke after they left.
"Hmm, what do you mean, Autumn?" Tyler spoke as he turned around and leaned on his car.
"Well, I didn't expect Josh to be part of her team." She concluded.
"Josh is smart and Ruby's a great battler. So I can see why Cynthia would like him and Ruby on her team. Anyways, let's head to the Gym. Can't wait to challenge Gardenia." Tyler beckoned as he opened the doors of his car.

Half an hour of driving later, the group made it to the Gym. The driver and four passengers got out of the sedan. Epsilon had to be returned to its ball since it couldn't fit in the cabin.
"Phew, the sight still gives me chills." Tyler muttered as he shivered. "Also, it's pretty breezy here."
"Hmm? It doesn't feel too bad." Jewel yipped.
"Yeah, I can't feel anything." Epsilon buzzed jokingly.
"That's because you're a steel type…" Noir mumbled while shaking her head as Epsilon chuckled.
"Honestly, I don't feel anything." Ava spoke with a head tilt. Noir facepawed.
"I've got it!" Tyler exclaimed before picking Autumn up and hugging her close to his chest. Autumn yelped in surprise before giggling with a blush as he held her close. Noir grumbled a bit with jealousy and Jewel smiled at her friend's embarrassment. Ava and Epsilon were too busy admiring the building in front of them.
Tyler took notice of Noir's body language and decided to cheer her up a bit. Swiftly, he picked her up with one hand and plopped her on his shoulder. Noir yelped adorably, similarly to Autumn. Jewel could barely contain her laughter. By this time, Ava and Epsilon also took notice with the Ice type smiling in amusement and the Steel type chuckling.
At the reception desk inside the Gym, Tyler eventually settled on battling tomorrow evening. This was because he and his team wanted to do some sightseeing around Eterna and he wanted to catch up with Josh since Tyler hadn't called or text him in some time.
As they left the Gym, Tyler noticed two familiar faces talking to each other. One with a brown ponytail and green eyes and the other one had dull gray hair and blue eyes with five Pokemon with them. Tyler immediately recognized them as Amanda and Vince. For a few seconds he wondered why they were here and talking to each other before he remembered that they were the other two members.
Tyler made his way to them which caught their attention. Amanda greeted with a wave and Vince gave him smile which widened as he spotted Ava behind Tyler.
"Hey there, Tyler! Didn't expect to see ya out here." Amanda greeted. "Oh, by the way, this here's Vince." She added as she pointed to him.
"Yo, didn't expect to see you here too, Amanda. Oh and Vince and I have met." Tyler spoke as he kept hugging the shy Ninetales into his chest. Vince simply nodded as Amanda gave him a questioning look.
"We have. Remember the one who helped Roark get the stolen fossil back? That's him." Vince spoke as he jutted a thumb to Tyler. Amanda went a bit wide eyed as she glanced at Tyler.
"Well, I'll be. Thanks a lot for saving my best friend's hide! You will not believe how delighted he was! Almost made me grab a roll of duct tape to shut him up!." Amanda joked as Vince turned away in slight embarrassment. Tyler and his team chuckled.
"It's no problem, really. It was Team Galactic, so it was the right thing to do. I pity the Pokemon that must obey to them, though." Tyler replied with an ending sigh. Amanda and Vince nodded in agreement.
"Speaking of Pokemon, I haven't introduced you mine!" Amanda chirped before pointing to the blue and black colored bipedal canine, a Lucario. "This is Julius. He's been my partner since I was a kid!" Then she pointed to the small brown biped with a large plume of cotton as her hair, a Whimsicott. "And this one's Spring! Named after the season which I found her a few years ago."
"Greetings, Mister Tyler. It's a pleasure to meet you." Julius greeted with a deep bow. Spring waved her small hands in a cute wave with a smile on her face. "Hiii! It's great to meet you, Tyler!"
Tyler chuckled before he spoke. "Well, I've never been addressed so politely before, but I don't mind. It's a pleasure to meet you too, Julius and Spring." He spoke with a polite grin. Julius and Spring smiled.
"Oh, you've got a translating earpiece too?" Amanda pointed out Tyler's earpiece.
"Yeah, Josh made it for me and my friend Sam." Tyler explained, which caused Vince tilt his head a bit.
"Wait, you're the fourth member?" Vince asked with Tyler nodding. Vince chuckled as he crossed his arms with a smile.
"Well, didn't expect my savior to be a part of the team! Anyways, I should introduce you to my team." Vince said as he gestured to the large mostly yellow bird with red, blue and green accents, an Archeops. "This here's Oli. Believe it or not, the first Pokemon I've resurrected from a fossil." Then he picked up a small yellow and green quadruped, an Electrike. "Here's Tesla. He actually wandered near the museum and got lost, so I took him in. Then he decided to just stay with me." Tesla licked him in the face which shocked him a bit. Tyler and Amanda chuckled.
Vince then placed her down and tapped his hand on the large purple snake with a striking pattern on her belly, an Arbok. "Last but definitely not least is Daisy. Been with me since I was boy. I remember finding her battered and bruised so I decided to fix her up." He spoke as he stroke Dasiy slowly, getting it to blush.
"W-way to embarrass me, Vince…." She hissed playfully. Autumn, who was still in Tyler's hands, found solace in seeing another flustered Pokemon.
"Hello, Tyler! Thanks for helping out Vince, yep!" Tesla spoke as he ran around Tyler energetically, accidentally bumping Ava and Jewel in the process. "Oops, sorry miss…uh"
Jewel giggled which confused him. "Oh, it's fine! Call me Jewel." She extended a feeler and got the Electrike on his feet. Ava gave him an amused smile.
"It's alright, Tesla. My name's Ava." Ava spoke with a smile and a small tail wag. Amanda giggled at the sight.
"Vince, looks like your Pokemon's already made some fast friends, eh?" She joked with Vince giving a quick laugh. "Seem's they have. Why don't you introduce yours to us?"
"Ah, right. Well, why don't they do it themselves? C'mon." Tyler looked around at his team members and to Autumn in his hands and Noir on his shoulders.
One by one, they introduced themselves to Amanda and Vince. Amanda noted how pretty Jewel was which got her a bit flustered. Vince looked really impressed by Epsilon and was really glad to be able to meet Ava again. Soon, the group began making small talk, going over various topics like the news, cars, battling strategies, the team they're in and so on. Noir kept mostly quiet throughout, only speaking if asked a question. Tyler was concerned by this but decided to speak to her in private later.
After a half an hour of chatting, Amanda told them she had to go back to her shop since a customer came by to pick up their car. As her red Lotus Esprit left, Vince got a call from a researcher stationed in Eterna Forest which he had to check on. Not long after his black Mercedes C63 AMG bellowed and drove away, Tyler turned his attention back to his team.
"Alright, let's get back to the Pokecen-" He spoke before he was interrupted by Jewel's stomach growling, followed by his, Ava's, Autumn's and finally Noir's. Epsilon explained that it's stomach didn't make any odd noises, mostly because it was way different than normal.
"Nevermind that, we'll be getting food first. Any suggestions?" Tyler asked as he unlocked and entered his car. By now, Jewel had figured out how to use a door with her ribbons, as did Autumn with her tails, though with more difficulty.
"Oh, how about bar-bee-kwe- Uh, bar-bee-ke- Hmm…." Ava tried but failed to pronounce. Luckily, Tyler caught on with what she meant.
"Barbeque sounds like a good idea. I saw a good place not that far away from here. And if we're lucky, we can squeeze in some training for today, how about it?" Tyler offered, with everyone nodding in response, though Noir was slower. Jewel and Tyler took small glances at her, both concerned.
A short drive later, the group exited and Tyler released Epsilon who buzzed its concern when they took longer than expected because of a red light. Tyler and his team entered the decently sized establishment, taking in the rustic look and the heavenly smell of meat.
Roughly half an hour after finding a large booth and ordering, their food arrived. Tyler went for two large portions of ribs, one for him and Jewel and another for Autumn and Noir. Ava went for a salad since she was a herbivore. Epsilon ordered motor oil which Tyler thought was a joke before Epsilon explained that its species could also consume certain nonedible substances. Eventually, it settled for a large portion of mac and cheese.
Around three hours later, the exhausted group made their way inside the Pokecenter after their fairly rigorous training. They had done a variety of exercises, from taking down trees and running to sparring and defense training. Jewel surprised everyone by yanking a good sized tree from the ground with just her ribbons. Autumn ran a hundred meters in 3.7 seconds, breaking 107 kmh. Noir's Dark Pulse got even stronger as it now can affect Epsilon even though he was standing a good six meters away from her, though she still looked fairly unhappy. Ava launched a large rock that was enough to knock down a medium sized tree. Epsilon took a whole oak tree to the face and it barely dented it. Even Tyler got some exercise in.
As they went through the lobby, he caught sight of Josh who was carrying a bag with a few Hyper Potions inside. Ruby followed behind with a bag Pokepuffs in her mouth with a happy expression. Tyler chuckled and made their way to them.
"Sup, Josh. What're you up to?" Tyler greeted which caught his friend's attention. He smiled as Tyler approached.
"Oh, hey there, Tyler. Not much really, just finished a training session. Got Ruby Pokepuffs since she really wanted them." Josh spoke which Ruby nodded happily which Tyler found amusing.
"You're just like Helios. You two are just black holes for Pokepuffs" He joked which caused the Absol to blush.
"Don't you miss him, though? I mean, I know how close you two are." Tyler asked Ruby. She plopped her bag down and opened her mouth to talk before a familiar voice sounded behind them.
"Yo! Josh! Ty!" Samuel exclaimed as he and Helios made their way to the group. At the sight of each other, both Ruby's and Helios' tails wagged fairly quickly.
"Lios! There you are!" Ruby yipped as she hopped and rubber her head on the flustered Houndoom. Jewel found it really amusing. Autumn looked pretty happy for them. Noir, Ava and Epsilon were fairly indifferent since they haven't met them before.
"Wooh, got quite the team there, Ty. That was fast." Samuel whistled. Tyler meekly rubbed his head.
"Well, I'm just lucky to have such a caring team. Didn't even have to catch anyone. I just don't like the idea of forcing a Pokemon against their will." Tyler spoke as he grabbed all his team members in a big and fairly suffocating hug.
"Too tight! Too tight!" Ava mumbled as she couldn't breathe too well. Tyler and the others immediately let go.
"Heh, sorry about that, Ava." Tyler apologized awkwardly before he remembered something. "Oh right. Fellas, this here's Ava. The Zorua's Noir and the Metang's Epsilon. Ava, Noir, Epsilon, the nerd is Josh and the jackass is Samuel, we call him Sam." Jewel snickered and Autumn giggled.
"I missed you, Tyler, but not much…" Josh joked while shaking his head with a grin.
"Oh, har har. Very funny, limpdick." Sam scoffed with a grin as he pocketed his hands.
After some small talk and catching up which Noir didn't contribute to, Tyler and his team made their way to his room that Josh already booked, which thanked him for. Upon entering, Ava and Epsilon took a look around at the unfamiliar sight as Tyler gestured at them to enter the bathroom for a bit.
After all his team members had their showers and he had his, he made his way to the bed and threw himself on it, sighing as he relaxed. Jewel immediately went to his side as usual, with Autumn taking her normal spot between Tyler's legs and Noir lying on his chest, though without her usual relaxed look. Ava and Epsilon shared looks before Tyler scooted over a bit to leave some space for them. Though this resulted in the bed being a bit lopsided, they didn't care as one by one, they drifted off to sleep.
All except for one dark type.
