Chapter 7:
"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND!?" asked Hammond in yell like confused state. Sam then defended her decision. "It's our best bet on rescuing Ja- … … the Colonel sir.". But the General from Texas wasn't as dumb as he seems. "Are you sure your personal feelings for Colonel O'Neill aren't clouding your judgment?" he asked.
To be honest, Sam wasn't sure about that herself. "I feel like I owe it to the colonel, sir.". Hammond sighed, he knew he wasn't gonna talk her out of this, so might as well work on a plan. "Very well. I hope you have a plan.". As a matter of fact, she does. She managed to calm down the argument between their allies so that she could speak. "For this plan to work, I need your attention." They all turned to her and she spoke of her plan.
"As we know, Ares wants me, but why? To answer that, I theorized he managed to look into Colonel O'Neill's memories, since Colonel O'Neill has a strong connection towards me. We can use that, if Ares takes me, he would probably refuse to harm me, an Asgard tracking device can be placed onto me and you can track me and probably find Ares's stronghold. Then we beam out Ares as well for me and we can then remove the symbiote and Colonel O'Neill will return to his old self.".
Narim stood up and said: "I wish to accompany you, Samantha. For your protection." He added at the end. This caused Jacob to eye the Tollan. But then quickly, Selmak took over. "Samantha Carter's plan works perfectly in my opinion, but Narim should probably not accompany her, it can jeopardize the mission.". Narim wanted to protest, claims on how he can assist and his knowledge on Goa'uld can save their lives in a crisis.".
But Sam agreed with Selmak. "Narim, as much as I appreciate the help, I need to do this alone.". Narim fumed up. "IT'S HIM! ISN'T IT!?". The entire room went silent. Sam huffed, if he was gonna act like Pete did, then she would put him back in place. "Narim, don't make a fool of yourself.". Narim wasn't listening, he kept on his rant. "Your in love with HIM! He attacked MY people! Killed thousands of my people! And yet you still want to rescue him!?" his rant made people question the mental stability of the Tollan. But to Sam's aid, Jacob grabbed Narim and a group of Tok'ra dragged Narim out as he was kicking and screaming and cursing!
When he was removed, Thor suggested a short reses to be taken. When the allies left, Sam took this time to break down, she went down on the floor, hiding from the rest of the world. As she was crying, Jacob came in and knelt down next to Sam. "Hey kiddo, it's alright.". Sam lend in against her father. "I don't know what to do dad. But Narim is right, I am in love with Jack, I have been sense I walked into that briefing room and saw him.". Jacob chuckled. "I bet you were more distracted by his looks then his actual insults." He teased. Sam nods lightly. "I guess, I was so busy trying to impress him, I wasn't realizing what I was saying.". Jacob then said: "I know how you feel about him, I knew about it for a long time.". Sam looked up to her dad. "What do you mean?" she asked. Jacob then decided to tell her about a secret visit he made to Jack back when he was on Abydos.
Flashback:
Jacob arrived on Abydos by ship, he didn't use the Stargate for he was sure Jack would prevent any visits from Earth. He landed in a open area, and walked up to the village. He saw the kids playing and some adults setting up fences, until he found the man he was seeking, Jack.
Jack was forging some nails, he didn't look very appeal, messy beard, longish hair, smelt like he hasn't bathed in weeks, well, this was a desert planet. He walked up to him and Jacob called him by name. "Jack!". Jack looked up and went back to his work. "Jacob." He answered not very happy to see him. Jacob walked behind the anvil and stood cross arm next to him. "Why did you just leave? Sam has been worried sick, for some reason we can't dial Abydos anymore.".
Jack hammered the nails again. "That's because I ordered not to dial this planet atleast for a year. Just need to clear my head." Jack replied. Jacob then popped the question: "Did Sam really send you those messages?". Jack spoke even louder. "I NEVER WANT TO HEAR ANYONE SPEAK OF HER IN FRONT OF ME EVER AGAIN!". Jacob then loosened his arms. "Sam would never say such things to you! You know her." Jacob defended his daughter. "Well clearly I don't." Jack added at the end.". Jacob then said: "She loves you, don't you get it?".
Jack looked at the man. "She used to, she's with Shanahan the last time I checked.". Jacob quirked his brow. "Seriously? Nearly everyone over the galaxy heard of Sam's break-up with Pete, even Narim got his hopes up.". Jack snorted. "Let him have her, see how far that gets.".
That did it! Jacob punched Jack square in the jaw, the colonel tumbled and fell face first in the sand. Jacob then stood over him and grabbed his collar. "Listen to me! Sam didn't do those things to you, if you don't believe me, ask her that yourself when she arrives next week.".
Jacob left, giving Jack time to think. The guy rubbed his jaw, he realized he needed a shave. "Best look presentable for the guys.".
End of flashback.
This took Sam by surprise. Her father punched Jack for being an ass? She felt more sorry to him then her father. But it explained why Jack was so easy to believe her, she had help. When the reses was done, the allies all agreed on the plan, but Narim was told to sit this one out.
The gate was active and Ares was waiting for a reply. Sam spoke: "You win Ares, I am coming to you.".
