Josh: Hey fellas, lunch's ready!
*stumbling*
Tyler: Hell yes!
Samuel: Fucking finally, I nearly died of starvation.
Josh: Right right… Wait where's bruh?
BM: *yawn* I'm… coming
Tyler: Dude, you alright?
BM: Yeah yeah, I'm alright. *yawn* Oh… hey there everyone… Bruhmeister here… back with *yawn* another chapter of Roadtrip. Man… online classes drain me out waaay faster than.. uh… normal classes. But hey… gotta do what you gotta do.
BM: Anyways, let's… get on…. With… it….. *snore*
Everyone: *shakes their head in disapproval*
Disclaimer: Honestly, I have no idea what to put here anymore.
"Fucking finally!" Samuel groaned through Tyler's phone as his group, which consisted of himself and Vince, passed the traffic jam on the R10M. Tyler and his own group, which consisted of himself, Amanda and Josh, had already departed from Celestic Town after their brief stop.
"Well, you'll still lose. We've already left Celestic and merged onto the R10M itself. We've got this in the bag!" Tyler exclaimed with a grin as Jewel held up his phone with one of her ribbons.
"You sure, big man? Look to your left." Samuel spoke calmly. Tyler obliged and grinned.
The white BMW was now side by side with the blue Subaru, a black Mercedes not far behind. The red Lotus and grey Porsche were on his left, matching his speed.
"Lose pays for dinner!" Samuel yelled before stepping on the throttle, extending his lead from the other cars.
"You're not getting away that easily!" Tyler replied before going full throttle himself, the blue Subaru spitting flames as he shifted up into higher gears.
"You two really are a handful…" Josh muttered through the call as Amanda and Vince laughed, all three of them catching up to the pair. However, none of them could prepare for what was coming behind them.
A maroon blur rushed pass all of their cars, possibly going 420 kph. Tyler and his friend's jaws dropped as the Koenigsegg Agera RS zoomed away in the distance, it's low slung form weaving between the traffic effortlessly.
An hour on the road later, the group finally reached their destination, Veilstone City. This city was quite large and was located close to the ocean and near Mt. Coronet. Due to this unique location and the heat absorbing stone that most of the city consisted of, it had perpetually pleasant weather where it was comfortably warm in the afternoon and refreshingly cool in the night.
The group approached the Pokecenter as the sky turned orange, signaling the setting of the sun had begun. Surprisingly, the maroon Koenigsegg could be spotted in front of the Pokecenter as well as a fairly sizeable crowd of people. As the five trainers got closer, they went wide eyed.
"Lucas? You have Koenigsegg?" Tyler asked with a somewhat dumb expression on his face as he exited his car. Lucas perked up and quickly turned around, clearly showing that the constant questioning was supremely annoying to him. Sol, his Infernape, was busy dispersing the crowd, exhaling in relief as they all went away from him and his trainer.
"Mhmm. What, didn't think Josh was the only one who loved cars? I was the one who got him into them the first place!" Lucas joked with a chuckle with Josh rolling his eyes in amusement.
"Anyways, I have some business to attend to here in Veilstone, so I should be going now. Cynthia will call you guys when she needs the help, alright?" Lucas asked in more hushed and serious tone. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Great! I'll be seeing you all later. Cheers!" Lucas said as he and Sol entered his car, waving a hand outside the window as the hypercar roared away. Tyler finally let out an impressed whistle he was holding in.
"Wow, who knew?" Autumn spoke as she sat down beside Tyler and Jewel, with Noir, Ava and Epsilon joining closely. Tyler shook his head with a chuckle.
"Certainly not me. Anyways, where to now?" Tyler asked his friends as he turned around to face them.
"I want to visit the electronics store tonight. I'll see you guys later." Josh said as Ruby pouted a bit. He noticed and grinned a bit. "Hey, if you behave, I'll give you some more private time with Hel-"
"DEAL!" Ruby exclaimed happily as she hopped into Josh's Porsche. He smiled and entered, waving goodbye as he went further away.
"See, Amanda and I are calling it a day. I'm pretty tired and Daisy doesn't feel like going anywhere." Vince spoke which Daisy responded by smacking him lightly with her tail, which got everyone to laugh a bit.
"I'm pretty hungry, so I guess I'll find something to eat. Probably the Veilstone night market." Tyler replied with a small shrug before turning to Samuel with a smirk. Samuel replied with a smirk of his own.
"Race you there!" They both said simultaneously as they sprinted and got into their cars. Their Pokemon sat at their spots with a variety of amused, disappointed and disapproving looks on their faces before quickly following them. Amanda and Vince shook their heads before entering the Pokecenter.
…
Tyler exited his car with a huge smirk as Samuel's BMW parked up beside his car. Samuel stepped out with a groan whilst Helios exited with an excited smile, amused by both the drive and his trainer's reaction.
"You know wh-" Tyler spoke with a smirk before being interrupted with a huff and exhale from Samuel as he grumpily trudged past him, only amusing him more. He and his team walked behind Samuel.
"Hey Helios, was Samuel always a sore loser?" Jewel asked inquisitively towards the Dark and Fire type. Helios nodded with an amused laugh.
"Oh absolutely. This was just a smidge of what he's normally like." Helios joked which perked Noir and Autumn's curiousity.
"Hmm? How is he normally like then?" Noir asked with Autumn nodding to show that she wanted to know too. Helios' smile grew wider.
"Well, this one time, he got pissed that Josh won a race against him. Accidentally broke the front door right of its hinges! Funniest thing is he managed to bruise his toe and looked like a crying child!" Helios joked with everyone laughing including Tyler who was listening closely. Samuel's eye twitched before he got an idea.
"Well, at least I know how to keep quiet when I jerked off. This nasty motherfucker here's louder than my car." Samuel replied with a smirk as the colour drained from Helios' face as everyone erupted in laughter.
Roughly twenty minutes later, the group found a large table to sit. The Veilstone night market was a huge collection of food stands and vendors which was held in the North Courtyard every three weeks. A large variety of food was available, from international favourites like pizza and ramen to regional delicacies like Lava cookies and malasadas.
"Damn, look at all that food! This place is even bigger than the food court back at Oreburgh and even that was already huge." Tyler exclaimed excitedly as he rubbed his hands together, pleased that he wouldn't have to pay a single penny for him and his team's meal.
Samuel on the other hand had already disappeared into the crowd of people, either to shirk off the responsibility of paying for Tyler's meal or to find a place to sit. Tyler groaned as he and his team trudged through the sea of people and Pokemon to search for his friend.
…
Josh let out an impressed whistle as he perused the shelves upon shelves of graphics cards since he was planning on upgrading his PC when he and his friends got back. Ruby was idly following along, occasionally glancing at the huge rows of ultra wide, 4k and the occasional 8k TVs that ran along the wall of the electronics store. She let out a small huff which didn't go unnoticed by Josh.
"Oh come on, just a bit longer, Ruby. I promise." Josh said honestly as he picked up an RTX 2080 Ti and placed it into his shopping basket, which already contained a Kingstone 1TB SSD and two sticks of DDR4 RAM, totaling 16 GB.
"Yeah, I know. It's just… I really like him." Ruby said with a small pout. Josh smiled slightly as he made his way to the cashier.
"Haha, yeah. You two make a good fit. The Dark Duo." Josh joked as he paid for his items. Ruby laughed with a small blush and smile.
Just as the pair exited the store, the lights suddenly went out, briefly plunging the whole city into darkness. A few seconds later, the lights and electricity came back on, much to the relief of the passerbys and the two themselves.
"What was that?" Josh and Ruby simultaneously said. A passerby noticed.
"A brief blackout. It's really odd, the city's power grid seemed to be all well and dandy up until a few days ago. Nobody really knows what's going on but it sure isn't a good thing." She explained which prompted Josh to think. What could possibly destabilize a whole city's power grid?
"Huh, that is strange. Well, thanks for the explanation." Josh thanked as he pushed the thought to the back of his head. He would have to speak with the others about it later.
…
"Well that was something." Tyler said as he continued eating his ravioli before being rudely interrupted by the sudden power outage. Samuel and the rest of both his and Tyler's team agreed. Noir, Autumn and Jewel were sharing a platter of xiaolongbao with two of them not enjoying the practically boiling hot soup filling burning their mouths. Ava was enjoying a serving of cold noodles, with her being an Ice type and all.
"It's strange." Epsilon suddenly muttered after swallowing a bite of his cha siu bao. Tyler looked at him with a small frown.
"Well, I know it isn't exactly dinner food but it's not that bad." Tyler spoke which got Epsilon to chuckle a bit before shaking his body.
"No no, the buns are delicious. I meant that the sudden power outage is strange." Epsilon corrected with a small smile as Tyler facepalmed.
"Ah, yeah. What's so strange about it? Back in Twinleaf, we had sudden power outages as well, usually a couple of times a year." Tyler asked as he finished his plate, turning to look at Epsilon.
"I'm not quite sure but I felt a very faint presence right before the lights went out." He reasoned. Autumn broke away from laughing at Noir and Jewel.
"Yeah, I did too. It's really strange since it felt a bit like a sudden burst of energy, though very faint and a bit far away." Autumn spoke with Epsilon nodding in agreement. Tyler nodded slightly before noticing Samuel and Helios eyeing a large building in the distance.
"Hey Sam, you alright?" Tyler asked as he joined in to look at the large castle-like building. Sam turned to him with a confused expression.
"I don't get it. Right when the power went out, every building plunged into darkness, right? Then how the fuck did that one stay up? Josh said that huge ass buildings usually have huge generators to power them, yet even the enormous electronics store and the Veilstone department store got shutdown." Samuel spoke while pointing to the castle-like building, before pointing to the somewhat tall electronics store and the huge Veilstone department store in the distance.
"Hey, you're right. That doesn't make sense at all. We should talk to the others about this." Tyler reasoned with a surprisingly serious look, since he had an off feeling about the whole situation. He kept the look before Jewel suddenly pounced on him, demanding belly rubs and head pats.
…
A short drive later, Tyler and Samuel made it back to the Pokecenter. They parked their cars right beside Vince's, Amanda's and Josh's, creating a line of multicolored performance vehicles. Tyler, Samuel and their teams walked into the Pokecenter and registered into their room.
As they entered, they were greeted by Vince, Amanda and Josh talking to each other with Ruby, Julius and Daisy as well, though this was quickly changed as Ruby made a beeline straight towards Helios, dragging him away before him or anyone else could protest.
"Heh and he says that they aren't together." Tyler joked as he and Samuel greeted everyone.
"So, did any of you experience a blackout?" He asked as the three nodded in sync.
"Yeah, it was mighty strange. Ya don't usually get them blackouts in large cities very often." Amanda piped. Vince agreed.
"That's right, not many things can cause a blackout nowadays. A friend of mine told me that since the 2009, all the major cities in the Sinnoh region have been quietly upgrading their power grids, except for Sunyshore since that place's grid can power itself trifold." Josh explained after a brief moment of thinking. "Though, I feel like something's not right."
"Hmm, what do you mean?" Vince asked curiously.
"Well, when Ruby and I exited the electronics store, a person explained that the power outages have only been happening since a few days ago." Josh answered which got the rest of the group even more confused.
"Even weirder still, Julius noticed that something was off during the power outage." Amanda spoke while jutting a thumb towards Julius who was talking with the rest of the Pokemon. Hearing him being referenced, he turned to look and walked up to the group, bowing slightly.
"Indeed, I did sense something was not right, as Miss Amanda said. During the blackout, I could feel not only a disturbance in the balance of aura of Veilstone, but a strong shift in balance as well. The atmosphere had become more somber right after the blackout, which may well have been the cause." Julius responded politely.
"Hmm, Autumn and Epsilon did feel an odd energy as well… Oh right! Sam and I noticed that there was a huge building that remained powered as the city fell dark. We had a good vantage point from the night market so we could easily spot the department store and the electronics store's power go out. This one building on the top of the hill however, didn't." Tyler recalled as he remembered the building.
"Hold on, don't the electronics store and the department store both have those hydrogen generators or something that Josh was talking about?" Amanda asked as she tried to piece the puzzle, as did everyone else. Josh nodded.
"Yeah, they do. That's why I was even more surprised when the electronics store didn't automatically turn on." Josh muttered as he tapped his chin. The group began to think in silence, trying to come up with a reason why.
Before they were interrupted by Jewel yawning loudly.
"Uh… whoops!" She giggled as everyone laughed. Tyler shook his head as he laughed.
"Well, that settles it. It's already kinda late and I'm going to hit the hay. Good night, fellas." Tyler spoke as he made his way to his room, followed closely by his Pokemon as they all said goodnight.
Tyler closed the door behind him before multiple 'thwumps' could be heard. He sighed and turned around to see all five of his Pokemon lying on the king sized bed. He cleared his throat to get their attention.
"Ahem, ladies and Epsilon, aren't you all forgetting something?" Tyler mused with a raised eyebrow. Jewel groaned, Autumn pouted, Noir smirked as usual, Ava perked up in realization and Epsilon was already asleep. Tyler facepalmed, especially at the last one.
"NO, I DON'T WANNA! I WANNA SLEEP!" Jewel shrieked and thrashed as Tyler dragged her to the bathroom with Autumn and Ava reluctantly following them, both of them sweatdropping.
…
"Tell me, how is it coming along?" Cyrus spoke in an irritated tone, clearly displeased that the process was taking longer than expected.
"W-well, we've managed to finalize and stabilize the Distortion Rift Jumper in the meantime so that's a plus, I guess." The scientist chuckled nervously to liven the grim mood. Needless to say, it didn't work.
"And then? Tell. Me. More." Cyrus commanded as the scientist began trembling a bit.
"T-The specimen's nearing c-completion, sir. W-We're estimating around two days." The scientist spoke as he tried to toughen up. This definitely didn't work.
"How about order C222? Has it been executed yet?" Cyrus inquired. The scientist hesitated for a moment before shaking his head.
"N-no, sir. Jupiter said she needs some time to prepare and-" The scientist spoke before being interrupted.
"That's enough. You're dismissed." Cyrus spat before a loud click echoed through the room.
…
The morning sun shone brightly, negating the use of an alarm clock as Tyler yawned before trying to get up. Unfortunately, he fumbled and landed on the hardwood floor with a loud thud, waking up the room's other occupants.
Fifteen minutes of mockery and morning routines later, Tyler and his Pokemon exited his room in which he was greeted by the sound of silence. He was the first one up, which was not a common occurrence, as Josh usually woke up before him.
"Huh, well that's a first." Tyler mumbled as he opened the fridge, his Pokemon taking a seat around the table except for Epsilon who just hovered.
"Oooh, are you going to cook for us? I can't wait!" Jewel chirped happily. Noir smirked.
"Tyler, try not to give us food poisoning, alright? I would like to spend more time with you and that would hamper my plans." Noir joked as Tyler chuckled from the kitchen.
"Now that I think about it, we've never tasted your cooking." Autumn reasoned as Tyler took ingredients from the fridge.
"I'm no Josh, but I can cook. Trust me." Tyler said as he clapped his hands together.
After some time, a large amount of breakfast muffins sat atop the dining table as Tyler wiped the sweat from his brow. His Pokemon took turns helping him out so practically all of them were starving at this point. His friends also woke up during this time with the order being Josh, Vince, Amanda and of course, Samuel.
"This is delicious. Maybe I was wrong to doubt you." Noir said with a sly smirk as she bit into her muffin. Jewel was already on her third, Autumn added hot sauce to her's, Ava managed to eat at a normal pace despite not having arms and Epsilon buzzed in delight. Tyler himself was enjoying the fruits of his labour.
"Mmmhmm, not bad. I should've used two more eggs, but whatever. Still pretty good." He said as he took another bite.
"Not bad? This shit is Masterchef level, dude." Samuel said as he held his own.
"Nah, cut the shit. Anyways, what are you guys' plan for today?" Tyler shrugged off Samuel before asking.
"Well, I'm meeting my colleague in roughly thirty minutes. Don't wanna be late, so I'm going now. See you guys later." Vince said as he unruffled his shirt and waving goodbye while exiting the room. Tyler glanced over to Daisy, Tesla and Oli who seemed slightly down as their trainer left.
"Ugh, hate it when he leaves." Daisy muttered as she slithered closer to the group of Pokemon.
"Does it happen often?" Autumn asked curiously. Tesla shook his head.
"No, not really. Still sucks though. I wanted to play!" He exclaimed while stomping his foot with a small pout, which everyone found adorable. Tyler suddenly got an idea.
"Hey, I know. Why don't we head on over to the park? Veilstone's got a huge one, if I'm not mistaken." He offered. Josh and Amanda nodded while Samuel gave a thumbs up.
"Good idea. We can get in some more training as well. I know Ruby and Helios would benefit from that a lot." Josh reasoned which Samuel agreed with.
"Yeah yeah, and my boy Julius needs to learn more about aura. I know he has a lot of potential, just look at him!" Amanda spoke as he jutted her hand in a presenting motion towards Julius, who was doing a disappearing coin trick for Tesla, Ava and Jewel. Julius stumbled before clearing his throat and adopting a more serious look, which everyone found amusing.
"Hey, speaking of which, where are Ruby and Helios?" Tyler looked around to spot the two Dark types, yet they were not there. Right after he said so, a door opened with both of them walking out, nuzzling each other closely.
"Hey there, Ruby. You enjoyed your time with him?" Josh asked with a grin. Ruby blushed and looked away, whilst Helios blushed and coughed awkwardly.
"..Maybe." She mumbled which got everyone to chuckle lightly.
Alright, that's that for this one, fellas! Now, I have a question to ask. Would you all like a lemon scene of Ruby and Helios' 'activities'? I'll label it as an extra chapter, so no, you all won't miss anything. Tell me in my DMs or in a review, whichever! Anyways, tune in next time for the next chapter, bruhmeister out!
Tyler: Wow, just one cup of coffee does that to you?
BM: Caffeine, baby.
