Chapter 23:
The rules were placed, the winner decides the other's fate. Jack was being placed in golden Spartan like armour. His helmet had the red feathers and he was given a sword where a small, Replicator disruptor Thor designed and built into the sword. Jack was about to walk out when Daniel, Teal'c walked up to him. "Major Carter is safely hidden O'Neill, even if she disagrees with it." Teal'c said with worry for his friend.
Jack sighs in relief. "If I don't make it out of this alive, take care of her." Jack asked. Daniel made his promise and so did Teal'c. He then walked out to see Fifth in some kind of funky Ancient Roman armour. "You ready to face death?" asked Fifth. Jack rolled his shoulder. "I will fight for my family. And you can't stop me!".
A horn rumbled and Fifth charged at Jack. Jack stood battle ready. But out of Fifth's palm slipped out a battle axe. Jack was surprised by this, when Fifth swung the axe, Jack slid on his knees underneath the axe, missing him by a micrometre. Jack then spun and was back onto his feet.
Jack blocked Fifth's attacks with his sword, as Fifth kept attacking, Jack blocked. Jumped up and over Fifth and then did a front-roll to get back onto his feet. He was on one knee when Fifth's axe collided with Jack's sword. As Fifth was pressing hard onto the blade, Jack could feel the metal of his blade inching nearer to him.
Fifth's smile was evil. He was gonna kill him! Jack acted quickly. With one move, he pushed the sword up and then punched Fifth in the abdomen. Fifth stumbled back and Jack used that time to swing the sword. He lightly grazed Fifth.
The two pare of eyes met for a second, before Fifth felt himself disintegrating. He stumbled as he fell onto his back, he was like a sand sculpture who was exposed to water. Within seconds he was a pile of dust, or blocks.
Jack went down on one knee to catch his breathe. He just beaten an enemy without Ares's help! He wondered if he might not need Ares after this war, then again, he has no idea what his injuries will do to him. But as he was relieved to have won the match, he saw that Carter double coming from behind a tree. "Jack?" she asked. Jack nods at the thing.
"Yeah.". The Replicator then spoke: "Fifth has planned several attacks on Earth, if we don't stop them, Earth will be destroyed.". Jack didn't like this idea. "Jaffa!" Ares's voice boomed, scaring Replicator Carter. She backed up and Jack saw her, he groans as he realized what he just did. "I'll explain.". Two Jaffa then walked up to him. Ares spoke again. "Escort her to a tent, and keep a watch at her door, next thing we need is another attempt to assassinate someone.".
Replicator Carter surprisingly obliged. As she was taken away, she gave Jack a look, a look only someone will give when they were missed. 'Missed?'.
As Jack entered his tent, he found Sam sitting on a chair she saw him and ran up to him and hugged him tight. "You alright. Thank goodness.". Jack hugs her back. "Sam, there's a bug version of you." He said. Sam looks at him, she didn't understand a word he was saying. "A Replicator version of me?". Jack nods. "Fifth must've made her after he released you, she claims Earth is in danger. I think it would be better 8f she talked to you. She got a scare after she discovered Ares.".
