Chapter 24:
Replicator Carter was pacing in the tent she was being held. She was uncertain what her next move will be. But that changed when the tent flap opened and the real Sam walked in. Replicator Carter stood up to only stop in her tracks right after Teal'c and Ro'tak walked in with ARG's. (Anti-Repicator-Guns. Or something.).
Sam told Replicator Carter to sit down. When she did, Sam did as well. "How many ships are gonna attack Earth?" she asked. Replicator Carter was silent for a second. "As far as I know, six.". It made sense, one ship per continent, that's if you keep Antarctica out.
But why make a Replicator double of herself? She didn't understand. Did Fifth create her in order to gain information? In order for he claims to "love" her? They'll never know. "Uhmm, what do you prefer me to call you?" she asked her double.
Replicator Carter then said: "Fifth used to call me Samantha, that is before he started abusing me." The Replicator cried. Sam never knew Replicators could cry until she saw how broken Fifth was when he had to let her go. Fifth never understood human emotions, it was possible that this flood of emotion within him kept confusing him.
Sam then reached out to her double, placing her hand over hers. Replicator Carter looks at the hand and saw something that made her… … jealous? For on Sam's finger, was a rose gold ring, except for a traditional diamond, it was a sapphire that matches her eyes. Well, their eyes.
"Who's the lucky man?" she asked. Sam looks at her hand and cursed at herself, wrong hand! Sam then decided, if she is me, then I can tell her. "Jack.".
That took the Replicator by surprise. "B-but, what about the regulations?" she asked confused. Sam then explained the entire story. "Jack resigned and lived on Abydos, when we went to get him back, Anubis took him and implanted a symbiote into Jack. That symbiote is now an ally to Earth, sense somehow, Jack's influence over the symbiote made it have a change of heart.".
Replicator Carter was smiling? To be honest, Sam was expecting for a different reaction. "Why are you smiling?" she asked. Replicator Carter just shrugged. "He's just like I remember. Always seeing things at the simplest ways.".
Sam had to agree, it was true. Jack's strong habit of seeing things simple were one of the many things she sees in him, and her double did as well.
Sam knew her double wasn't giving the answers she was looking for. "How many Replicators are gonna invade Earth?" Sam asked. Replicator Carter then said: "I don't know, but with Fifth gone, I am automatically their leader. They obey my every command.".
Sam then asked: "Why not just… … call them off?" she asked. But this caused Replicator Carter to laugh. "You truly are gullible.". Sam didn't like where this was going. She ordered the Jaffa to shoot at the replicator and their weapons had no effect on her!
Replicator Carter only smirks. "You think you can stop me? When Jack killed Fifth, I scanned the frequency used so I can make myself and by brethren immune.".
Sam couldn't believe it, she was deceived, by herself!
