an: hello hello! sorry, short chapter this time.
FLASHBACK: FRESHMAN YEAR
My first day wasn't a total bust, met some cool people. One person really stuck out to me thoughand she was a goddess in my mind. I've only known the girl for a few short hours and I'm already struck.
I walked into my last class, which was Biology. I went in and looked for a place to sit.
"Santana?"
I looked over and saw Brittany, she was smiling at me.
"Hey." I smiled back at her.
"Looks like we have the same class, wanna sit with me and my friend?"
"Yeah." I nodded and followed her to the back of the classroom.
"This is Quinn, Quinn this is Santana." She introduced to me to a blonde girl who had hazel eyes.
"Hi." She waved to me, "Nice to meet you."
I waved back, "Nice to meet you too."
"Quinn's my best friend, we met in fifth grade." Brittany said, "She's a cool one."
"Sweet." I said, "So, you've guys lived here since you were younger then?"
"Yeah, you just moved here?" Quinn asked.
"Yeah." I said, "Two months ago actually."
"How come?"
"Uh, just family issues." I said not really wanting to talk about it.
"Ah," Quinn said, "You like it so far?"
"It's not that great." It wasn't horrible, but there was some heavily bigoted people here.
"Understatement." Quinn said, "You'll get used to it though."
Brittany smiled, "It's not so bad."
"That's just because you see the good in everything, Britt." Quinn said.
"Well, there is good in everything." Brittany said enthusiastically, "You just have to find it."
Quinn chuckled and rolled her eyes, "Sure, Britt."
Santana's POV
I turned around towards Quinn, I didn't really know what to say, I didn't know what all she heard.
She stared at me questioningly, "I um..." she rubbed the back of her neck.
"What did you hear?"
"All of it, I wasn't spying, I wasn't, I just heard you guys and I um...well I guess I was spying, but I was just worried."
"Don't be, I'm fine."
"San, I heard what she said."
"It's not a big deal."
"I think her saying that she owns you is a big deal."
"Okay," I sighed, "You're being paranoid, you're reading into this stuff like way too deep."
"There's nothing to read into, that sounded pretty straightforward to me."
"Quinn, it's fine, alright?" I tried my best to come up with an excuse, but what could I say when she heard literally everything Brittany said.
"I don't think so, Santana."
"Just, leave me alone."
"San, if she's hurting you..."
"Then what?"
"Then let me help."
"There's nothing to help with, I'm fine."
"San-"
Thankfully the bell rung, "I have to go." I left as quick as I could as the hallway filled with students.
No ones POV
Santana and Brittany were hanging out at Brittany's house for the evening.
They were in the living room watching a movie, Santana had her head in Brittany's lap, Brittany played with her hair as they watched some old film.
While watching, Santana's mind wandered over to Quinn, she knew she would have to tell Brittany at some point.
It was a lose-lose situation, she could either tell her straight out and suffer the consequences, or she could hear it from Quinn, and still suffer them.
Santana sat up and looked at Brittany, she thought she might as well get it over with.
"Britt?" Santana said hesitantly, "I have to tell you something."
"Yeah?" Brittany looked at her.
Santana took a deep breath "When we were talking in the halls earlier..."
"Mhm?"
"Um, Quinn told me she heard us...or at least what you said."
Brittany went quiet as she looked away from Santana, after a beat she asked, "So, what exactly did she hear?"
Santana looked away, the look on her face told Brittany what she needed to know.
Brittany stood up from the couch, "What the fuck, Santana."
"I saw her soon after you left, and she said she heard and she started asking questions, I told her to not worry about it and she kept asking and-" Santana rambled as Brittany glared at her. "I'm-I'm sorry."
Brittany pulled the girl up roughly her arm.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Santana apologized as her voice started to crack, "Please don't." she pleaded as she stared at the floor. It wasn't her fault that Quinn heard, but Brittany didn't care.
Brittany grabbed her chin and made her look up at her, she slowly smirked at the younger girl, only fueling Santana's fear.
Brittany let go of her, then she jabbed her fist roughly into Santana's stomach, the girl fell forward, but Brittany stepped back letting her fall to her knees.
Santana held her stomach in pain, Brittany had a lot of strength, she worked out almost everyday, "Britt, please."
"Get up."
Santana tried to push herself up by her hands, her muscles shook as she continued her attempts, the pain was too much for her to bear.
"I'm giving you three seconds."
Santana whimpered in pain as she tried to stand up, she felt like she couldn't move without feeling the tightness in her stomach.
"Jesus, I didn't even hit you that hard." Brittany grabbed the girl by her hair, and Santana yelped.
"You make sure that bitch keeps her mouth shut."
"I will, I will." Santana managed.
Brittany let go of her and took a deep breath. She sat down on the couch and pulled Santana into her lap. "I just don't want her to assume anything."
Santana laid her head on Brittany's shoulder and nodded, "I know."
Brittany kissed the girl's head and rubbed her back gently, "I love you."
"I love you too." Santana said quietly, "I won't let it happen again."
Santana's POV
I just want to die, I just really want to die. Anything is better than this, everything hurts so fucking much.
Why do I let her do this? Why do I let her hurt me this much? She's not good for me, I know it. I love her so much though, I really wish I didn't, but I do.
I looked up at her, she stared at the television with no expression. I looked back down and just laid there, my body was in major pain, this isn't even the worse of it.
I closed my eyes and just imagined I was anywhere but there, I'm sure death would be ten times better than this. Anything would.
Quinn's POV
I honestly cannot believe what I heard. I've never heard Brittany talk like that in the ten years I've known her.
There was no doubt something going on, even if it wasn't physical abuse, there was definitely some verbal and mental.
Either way, was Brittany actually like that towards Santana? If so, how long? Could I even do anything about it?
Santana keeps saying that I heard wrong, I know I didn't. Of course, their business is their business, but if Brittany hurts Santana in some drastic way I know I'll regret not trying to do something.
There's a possibility of me being wrong, before I try to intervene I should probably talk to Santana first. I know she'll be annoyed, but I can't live with myself if I don't make sure. I really hope I'm wrong about all of this.
