Chapter 30:

The waitress sat down in front of him with a comforting smile. "Don't be afraid Ares, I am here to help.". Ares looks around, he doesn't know this place. "What is this place?". The woman sat back. "The path to enlightenment.". Ares then shot her a look. "You're Oma.".

Oma nods. "Yes.". Ares exhaled a lot of air. "So, I am dead?". Oma shook her head: "Not yet.". Ares looked around again. "Why will you help me to ascend? I am a Goa'uld.". Oma only looks. "When the wind blows, the crow knows to land.". Ares's eyebrow twitched. "I don't speak Shakespeare.". Oma chuckled. "Who do you think taught him?". Ares then snapped. "You taught him all those weird phrases?".

Then the door opened and a fat guy walked in. Ares looked up to see him with a news paper. "Coffee please.". Oma sighs. "I gotta get back to work.". Ares didn't understand, what the living hell was going on?

Meanwhile, in the prison cell:

Jack was leaning against the bars, while Sam did the same. She hated to see Jack like this. "Jack, it's gonna be okay.". Jack only said: "We shared a body for two years Sam, I feel like, I lost a part of myself, I don't even feel that great anymore. I mea- argh!- My bad knee is coming back.".

Sam looks at him, she could feel that he was falling apart. But then, the cell opened and Anubis's first prime walked in. "Take the woman, his lord wants O'Neill to feel the pain, before he dies in the ring of fire.". Sam was literally fighting to get out of their grip. Jack summoned all of his might to get up and yank the bars. "Let her go!". But the Jaffa punches him in the gut. Jack doubled over and was on his stomach.

Sam then bit the Jaffa on the hand. The Jaffa screamed and tossed Sam to the floor, slapping her across the face with his zat. Sam lip was split. She looked over to Jack. She reached out to him, he did the same, but right before they could touch, Sam was hurled over the big Jaffa's shoulder and carried away.

Jack only said: "Don't leave me.". Before he passed out. He woke up to see a female Jaffa patching him up. He looked down to his torso, huh… his abs were still there, he figured after it was Ares who got him back in shape he would loose the muscles.

The Jaffa looks him in the eye. "I hope you don't mind; I took care of your wounds.". Jack then turned to move his knee; he felt no pain. "H-how?". He then felt his spine. He could still feel the awkwardness of his prosthetic spine. "Guess you couldn't have fixed my back huh?" he asked sarcastically. The woman then dropped her head. Realizing how much of a dick he sounded at the moment, he then corrected is mistake. "I was being sarcastic.". He also then realized what she was wearing.

Her stomach was exposed and her legs were open. Her top was tight and squeezing her chest, which looked really uncomfortable. "Uhmm, hate to ask but, aren't you a little underdressed?" he asked. The woman then spoke: "I am Anubis's personal healer, h-he likes to touch when I do my job.".

'Sick bastard!' he told himself. He then got up. "So, I guess all this was preparation for the ring of fire.". The woman nods. "Where you fight to the death.". Jack groaned. "Yeah, last time, that didn't help out much.".

Back at Ares:

Ares was sitting at the table, thinking. "I can't ascend, there is no way I am pure of heart. I am a Goa'uld for fuck's sake!". The fat guy looks over to him. "Hey, I know you. You're Ares, the snake.". Ares then tried to shield himself. "I, I don't know what your talking about.".

The fat guy went over to him and sat down across him. "You're Ares, the only Goa'uld to have a pure heart. Trust me kid, it's an honour meeting you.". Ares judged this man already. Who is this guy? And how does he know him, and how did he not confuse him for O'Neill?
