Chapter 32:
Ares was pacing, he still had the paper in his hand. He felt a slight tingle. He opened the paper to the sport page where he saw in bold:
Does Narim yield?
That didn't make sense, did Jack challenge Narim to a fight and Narim still didn't say anything? But he then flipped the page, where HIS name visible. It said: Get your sorry head out of your ass and ascend already! You're wasting my time!
Ares looked over to Oma. "Really? You're gonna go there?". She shrugged at him. "The longer you wait, the less time you have.". That's when Ares understood. "Anubis is amongst one of these people. You know it. You want me to stop him.".
The fat guy then laughed. "Oh please. Only Oma can do that.". Ares looked at the guy. "Why are you trying to distract me? It's as if you want my friends to die.". The fat guy then said: "To be honest son, I am disappointed that you don't recognize me.".
Ares frowned. "How cam I recognize you if I-" he clicked. He finally clicked! "You're Anubis.". Anubis then cackled. "Yes.". Oma looked down visibly ashamed. Ares then rose and jumped the system lord. Only to go through him. "This is why I haven't ascended yet. Because of you. If I ascend, I won't be able to stop you. If I don't ascend, but defeat you, I die.". Anubis then said: "Oh, gotta choose.". Ares smiled. "Even if I choose, your plans will never be placed into play. Because of me. I made my choice. I won't ascend, I will stop you. And defeat you.".
Anubis was scared. But behind them both came Oma's voice. "That won't be needed Ares, I caused this mess, I am the one to fix this.". Anubis then said: "You can't harm me.". Oma then said: "But I can fight you, you'll have no choice but to fight back.". And with a flash, a screaming Anubis and a determined Oma was gone.
This was Ares's chance, his chance of ascension. So, with his eyes closed, he vanishes in a ball of light.
Back with Jack:
"I am gonna ask you this one more time, DO YOU YIELD!?". Narim then dropped his arms. "I yield.". Jack dropped him, and a huge flash appeared. Anubis is gone! And only a shimmer of light was left. The light moved to him. It then took Jack's form. But Jack knew who it really was. "Ares.". Ares nods as he floats to Jack, a light consumes them both. Jack was on one knee, his head bowed. He rose and looks the Jaffa in the eye. "JAFFA! I am Ares! I am no god! The Goa'uld are no gods! For a millennia, my kind has enslaved you! But that time, is no more! Brothers! Sisters! Rise, and be free! Free from your chains! Rise, and take back what we took from you! Your freedom!".
The Jaffa then cheered as they chanted Ares's name. Sam joined in on the commotion. Jack slipped back in and he looked down at Narim, who refused to look him in the eye. Jack said: "You lose. Again.". Narim only looks up. "How can you be so sure?". Jack then said: "You yield. I only have one thing left to do.".
The gate at the Capital activated and Jack walked through. He had chosen representatives from Anubis's domain, Ro'tak walked up to his leader and said: "Your Lordship, welcome home.". Ares smiled as he spoke. "Thank you Ro'tak, it's good to be home.".
Sam walked up to Jack, as she slipped on her engagement ring once again. "So Jack, what are we gonna do know?". Jack then said: "What do you wanna do?". Sam smiled at him eagerly. "Well, it involves a room, and a bed. With a handsome emperor.".
Jack liked that. "Emperor hmm… I like the sound of that. Lead the way, my empress.".
