a/n: I don't know how I got inspired to write this, but I did. Oh well.
I'll be posting up a fanfic some time in the future (not anytime in the near future), and this poem does not mean that I'll kill off Kohaku in the end…I really haven't decided if he'll live or die yet.
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha…unfortunately.
Okay, if you've read the summary, then you should already know that Naraku took the jewel shard out of Kohaku's back so that he could complete the jewel. So this is about Kohaku's feelings as he's dying, and he's apologizing to Sango for all the things he's done…
Don't cry, sister
Sister, I am sorry
But believe in what you see.
The blood that stains my clothing
Does not belong to me.
Sister, please forgive me
You are not the one to blame,
And now it's time I'm punished
For the lives that I did claim.
But please, sister, believe me
I never meant to kill.
All the things that I have done
Were done against my will.
I obeyed his orders
I followed his commands.
I have slain our father
With my own very hands.
I still hear the screaming
And the pleadings and the cries.
I still see you suffer
As the tears fall from your eyes.
The pain that bled within me
As I watched you cry,
Made me want to tremble
Made me want to die.
And now my wish is granted
As my heart slows in my chest.
And now all of your hurting
Will soon be put to rest.
Because once my heart stops beating
And my soul has slipped away,
You will never see your brother
Be a killer everyday.
I know it may seem cruel
That fate tore us apart,
But I'll always be there with you
Forever, in your heart.
So if ever you feel frightened
When you're facing the unknown
Call me and I'll find you
And you'll never be alone.
Sister, I see father
He is bathed within the light.
He tells me to come with him
And his smile's one so bright.
Sister, now it's over
This is my final breath.
And now it's time my soul succumbed
to my untimely death.
I wish someone had told me
How much it hurts to say goodbye.
I do not wish to leave you
I love you, sister
Please don't cry.
