Chapter 36:

Ares sat behind a desk with a piece of parchment trying to set up a treaty amongst him and Yu. Jack also just received word from the Tok'ra, the host shall be brought to them for interview. But Ares had a feeling things will go sideways as usual.

The door opened and Sa'har came in. "Your Lordship. The Tok'ra are here.". Ares smiled. "Very well, sent them in.". Jacob was the first to enter, and a young man. "Jack, this is the potential host I was speaking of." Jacob said. Ares then corrected them. "I am Ares, Jack is at the moment, resting, he's frustrated because he struggles to set up a treaty.".

Jacob then said: "My apologies.". Ares then bowed his head. "No need, who is the candidate?" he asked. The mam stepped forward. "My name is Christophosis, I will be honoured to serve as your host.". Ares sensed something in the young man, he was too eager to be a host. So Jack slipped up. "Jacob, a word.".

When Christophosis left, Jack pinned Jacob to a wall. "What trick are you playing!?" he demanded. Jacob sighed: "I was wondering when you were gonna notice. The Tok'ra don't trust Ares, in fact, they want all of Ares and your territory. Encase if any Goa'uld still survived.". Jack then said: "I have armies sent out on a purge! Yu is the only system lord, and he is MY ally!".

Jack then said: "All this, to start a war!?". Jacob nodded. "They plan on removing Ares from Christophosis and implant a different symbiote who will… appear to be Ares. Selmak and I objected the idea but, we were overruled.".

Jack slammed his hand hard on the desk. "I KNEW YOU GUYS WERE NO GOOD!" but he wasn't finished. "Who's idea was it?". Jacob then said: "Garshaw's. She doesn't trust you or Ares.". Jack then said: "I am not risking this symbiote being a prisoner of war! I'll carry him for all eternity if I have too!".

Jacob then had a plan. "Jack, hear me out. What if we don't proceed with the blending? You can still withdraw from it. I'll arrange a debate. Many Tok'ra trust you, they will listen to me.". Jack nods. "Alright, but wrap it up. I still want to marry your daughter.". Jacob then said: "You better! Or you're next on my list.". Jack pretty much had an idea on what he meant. "Don't worry, I don't plan on hurting her.". Jacob laughed as he exited the room. Jack sat down in his chair. "Boy, my life sucks.". Ares then said: "Ye think?".

Christophosis was yelling at Jacob. "We were ordered by the Tok'ra high council to perform this mission! We can't let any Goa'uld survive!". Selmak was yelling back. "What about the Goa'uld who turned to our side!? We are supposed to be better then the Tok'ra! But we are not! We are performing an act more evil then any of our previous acts where we never assisted the Tau'ri when they needed us the most! Yet the High Council just wants control over Ares's empire! Something is wrong with our people, we are compromised! We need to repair this situation!".

Christophosis thought on it. "You're correct, there is something suspicious going on.". Jacob sighed as he spoke. "Head back and tell them the blending didn't go through. Make something up.". Christophosis nods as he walked to the gate.

Jacob went to find his daughter. He found her eventually in the gardens. She was sitting in an area surrounded by flowers. He sat down next to her and spoke: "So, when's the big day?". Sam then said: "Well, Jack wants to hold the wedding soon, Ares insists it to be an earth wedding, he said it will be more pleasant.". Jacob nods. "Selmak agrees.".

Sam then said: "Dad, when Jack and I get married, we want to have kids, even if Ares is still about.". Jacob then said: "But the kids will be Harcesist! They will have all the knowledge of the Goa'uld!". Sam then said: "Thor said he can remove the knowledge from them, and all evidence indicating them being Harcesist.". Jacob had to think for a second. "Oh, I didn't know that.". Sam shrugged. "It's experimental technology, but it's effective.".

Jacob then asked: "So, any word on kids?". Sam shook her head, only to see her father looked like he was gonna cry. She then said: "Not until Jack and I are married.". Jacob then said: "Fair enough. Sam, there is something you should know.".

After his entire explanation, Sam seemed to be boiling with anger. "I can't believe it! We trusted the Tok'ra! We- why will they do this!?". Selmak then said: "The Tok'ra high council believe that this is their chance on destroying the Goa'uld.". Sam only got up and walked with an angry pace away. Jacob knew his daughter won't talk to him, so it appears he will need to figure this out on his own.
