Chapter 37:

Jacob sat on the grass, thinking, he had no idea what he was doing, the Tok'ra would never betray Ares, not without a valid reason, but suddenly, it hit him.

"WAIT! Ares is half Tok'ra! Half breeds between the Goa'uld and Tok'ra is forbidden! Garshaw is trying to take over his empire to destroy Ares! She was always someone who followed the most sacred of laws! Anubis was known to break those laws! She's not trying to get rid of Ares because she doesn't trust him! She's afraid of him!".

With that information he got up and sprinted to Sam, he needs to talk to her.

Knocking on the door he was sure to find her, he realized Sam might not listen, but he isn't leaving without her hearing him out. Sam opened the door and said: "Dad? I told you, I am not listening." But Jacob spoke immediately. "I know why Garshaw is doing this. Just here me out.".

When Sam agreed, Jacob jumped right into it:

"When Egeria broke away from the Goa'uld, Ra placed in a law that forbids the spawning of Goa'uld-Tok'ra hybrids, they were clarified as half breeds, the Tok'ra shared the same distaste for half breeds, so they obeyed that law, Garshaw was the one to place in that law.".

But Sam didn't understand: "Yeah but, how will she have learnt that Ares is a half breed?".

Jacob then shrugged: "It's possible that Ares was spawned before most of the Tok'ra. It is possible that she learnt of it by Anubis before his defeat.". "Or Ba'al." Sam added.

Jack was now sitting in his bedroom, he was technically hiding, trying to figure out why the Tok'ra will betray them, and by them, I meant Jack and Ares. Ares theorized it's of him being a half breed. Jack just said he never trusted Garshaw from the beginning. He never liked the Tok'ra, they always stabbed them in the back. Just like the Tollan did. The door opened and Sam ran in with Jacob behind her. "Jack! I know what's going on." Jacob said.

After a long explanation, Ares then said: "You owe me ten bucks Jack.". Jack then said: "We share the same body!". Calming down, Jack then asked: "So, all this, only because Garshaw hates half breeds. That's messed up.". Jacob agreed on that. "So, what do we do?".

Jack shrugs. "I don't know. I got nothing.". The door opened again and Ro'tak ran in. "Sire! The Tok'ra high council is here! They wish an audience!". Jack sighed; he knew this won't go well. "Very well. I'll be there in a few minutes.".

Jack got up and walked over to his wardrobe, remembering he had guests. "Jacob, please.". Jacob then left them and Sam sat on the bed. "Don't you dare chase me away, I already saw it.". Jack only rolled his eyes. "Fair point." He dressed in his formal uniform as Ares liked to call it.

He didn't really like it, it was as not very pleasant, but it was more comfortable than his Air Force dress blues. He breathed deeply as he walked to the door, Sam stood up and said: "Good luck.". Jack smiled softly. "No promises." He joked.

The council chamber doors opened and Jack walked in, seeing the council in front of him made him feel sick, realizing what they are gonna try. Garshaw looked at him with venom in her eyes, spitting at him. The Jaffa guards aimed their staff weapons at her but Ares spoke: "Jaffa! Hal mek!".

Yosuf then took control and said: "Please, forgive Garshaw, she has no right to show any disrespect to you, she is just very loyal to our laws.". But then, Teal'c spoke: "Even if those laws are made by the Goa'uld!". Before Yosuf could speak, Garshaw then said: "He is the son of Anubis and Egeria! He brings shame over our queen mother!".

Jack knew that this, was gonna be a long and terrible negotiation.
