The first Alternate Universe is vaguely set within the Cyberverse universe. I've admittedly not seen much of this show, just started watching so this is set some time early.

This is also an AU where LightChaser lived :)

And Hexen but she kinda a bitch, as she's always been to everyone but family.

I'm not sure when Soundwave gets Lazerbeak but for the sake of this piece, he already has him.

A part of Optimus wanted to pace anxiously; it had been a long time since he had seen anyone aboard this ship.

Elita-1, LightChaser, Hexen. His nephews and niece; Rumble and Frenzy, and little Resonate. Ravage.

Resonate was almost a youngling, just three stellar cycles shy of it, in fact.

Ratchet had already informed him he had slotted a check-up for all of them within the immediate future.

Their ship due to land in mere minutes, already having breached the atmosphere, Optimus hopes they face no trouble. The Decepticons had been quiet as of late after they'd put a stop to their last strange and destructive schemes. So far, the Cons have only been popping up in minor cases and often with some sort of intent. They were searching for something, Optimus knew, but what remained a mystery.

But what Optimus was most worried about was Soundwave. If he caught wind of LightChaser being here, of her twins (he was their father in all the ways that mattered) and Resonate, whom he did not know existed…

Optimus didn't know what sort of result that may bring. That mech might have followed Megatron but there is no denying the existence of the sparkbond between Soundwave and LightChaser. Of the physical presentation of their love in the shape of Resonate.

The sight of the spaceship was relieving, its easy touchdown relaxing. No complications.

The ramp rolled down, Elita-1 and Hexen were first off.

He greets them warmly and Elita laughed, "It's good to see you too, Optimus. This planet looks beautiful."

Hexen eyes him for a beat, and looked around to the horizon, "I suppose it's fine."

Optimus reframed from commenting on Hexen's attitude. Nothing new.

But the two next figures that rushed down, yelling in excitement were Rumble and Frenzy.

"Optimus!"

He chuckled, dropping to one knee and scooping the now much older younglings up.

"Hey boys," he rumbled, lifting them up as they laughed, "I've missed you."

"And we've missed you!" Rumble grinned.

"You both been good?"

"Good?" Frenzy smirked, "Occasionally."

Sniggers escaped the twins.

"You've both gotten big," he notes, setting them back down. They weren't long from their fledged frames now, soon they'd been classified as adults.

"We have!" was said in unison getting laughter from femmes.

Someone else coming down the ramp drew his attention and the boys moved aside as LightChaser appeared, a soft smile on her faceplate as Resonate sat on her hip.

His frame sagged with relief.

"Orion," she grinned, then glanced at Resonate, "Say hi to Uncle Orion, Res!"

Resonate squealed, making grabby hands and Optimus happily took her, "'Rion!"

"Hello little one," he rumbled, she giggled, "Look at you, you've gotten so big since I last saw you."

"Yes! Yes!" She cheered, snuggling close with a purr.

"Where's Ravage?" He questions and Resonate taps her chassis player, "Ah, keeping him safe, are you?"

Resonate nodded oh-so-very seriously.

He turned to the femmes and younglings, "Let's head inside. I'm sure the others are eager to catch up."

Lazerbeak stared, confused but knowing this would be something his master and fellow Deceptions would want to know.

He chirped, only flying away once the Autobots were safe within the crashed mountainside ship.

He wonders what younglings were doing here. Wonders what sort of relationship Optimus had with them from their positive interaction.

He chirped again, still as confused, he didn't really understand Cybertronians well. But he was sure his master would happily inform him about the strange behaviour.

Lazerbeak had been sent to spy and he hopes his master likes what he found!

He announced his arrival with a cry and Soundwave turned away from his station, offering his arm for Lazerbeak to land on. He chirped in greeting.

"Lazerbeak," his master returned, "What do you have to share?"

[New Autobots] he sends over, [Younglings too! Prime is familiar with them.]

His master fell silent before he turned, "Megatron."

There was a sense of wavering confusion and anticipation lingering in the air.

The grey mech turned, "Soundwave?"

"Lazerbeak, connect to the monitor and show us the footage," master ordered.

He can do that!

With several hops and a binder cable, Lazerbeak was hooked up to the computer and sending over the video file.

The confused chatter between the mechs falls silent when in the video, the ship lands. The audio isn't the best, Lazerbeak had been much too far for that, but actions spoke better than words sometimes.

"Elita-1 and Hexen," Megatron noted, "Not a duo I was expecting."

"What's Hexen doing with her anyway?" Starscream squinted, "Thought she hated Elita-1?"

"It's hard to tell with Hexen," Soundwave uttered, "I don't think she likes anyone but LightChaser. Not even Optimus once he reached his final frame. Weird femme."

There were a few snorts.

But Soundwave's pondering on why exactly Hexen was with them was cut short when Frenzy and Rumble came scampering down the ramp. He sucked in air, frame tense. No. No way. No slagging way.

He hadn't realised he'd said as such aloud until Megatron's servo grabbed his shoulder.

Optimus knelt, scooping the (his!) twin younglings up.

But the next down the ramp made Soundwave waver on his pedes. His spark sung, yet mourned, desperate to feel its other half for even a nano-kilk but that bond had been closed on her side since that declaration of war.

He hadn't dared close his, not even for a second—not when there was that chance she might reach out.

He stumbles closer when he sees the bundle in his beloved's arms, sees the way the sparkling—oursoursours, his spark cries—reaches out to Optimus.

"Slag," someone hissed.

Soundwave—he doesn't know what to feel. Doesn't know what to think. They have a little one, and LightChaser never—!

He turns away from the frozen image, servos trembling. He stands there for a moment, trying to gather himself but it is futile. He stormed from the control room.
