• Rio is Blue Sky Studios Property.
• Some OCs in this were based and inspired by characters from My Little Pony and their cast members.
• The song introduced in this was performed by Michael Jackson.
• The other song introduced in this was performed by Pharrell Williams. Which was not released until 2014. Another important detail involving Six.
As of today…I really need to find a way to makeup my mind with certain things. Well, except I have come up with this. I said I would be posting about one chapter every Saturday, and so far that's worked out for me. But I know that there are still readers (aka you guys) who are waiting too long to see a new chapter from my stories. So I think now, what I can do is still write a new chapter every week, but instead of Saturdays, I'll just publish it on the day after I finish it. Granted, that might've been how I already did it originally but still, focusing on it like this will be less stressful. Also, after this, if I work on a chapter that is divided into like a 2-3 parter, then I need to focus on finishing those sooner.
So anyway, with this new chapter, I think it's time to discuss a few fun things.
For one thing, next week on Wednesday, I'm going to publish a superhero one-shot on FictionPress to commemorate 9/11. I hope you guys actually like that, and will be glad to know that it is pretty much canon to this, because it involves Six and Rebecca. Plus, I also think you'll be glad to know this will be the last set of chapters to come before the story finally skips ahead to 2009. I hope you guys will love that, and would like to answer this question:
"Since 2019 is almost over, what five upcoming movies are you looking forward to in 2020? Or at least the whole decade?" Me, so far it is…Sonic, Godzilla v King Kong, Morbius, Venom 2, and maybe the Eternals. Those guys are very obscure to me.
But enough about that, I know you guys are official here to read the story. So go right on away.
Please leave a comment and enjoy.
CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT: A NEW SCARLET PART 1
Safe and sound. That was how just about every family felt in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and it felt that way most of all for four certain birds. Blu and Jewel were safe in their nest together, and Mikka and Leo, the Scarlet Couple who watched over them were relieved to see them safe after their previous episode. Thanks to a few new friends of theirs.
So on the very night after, the Scarlet Couple decided to take a little trip after the kids fell asleep. They walked across the jungle, and made it to the closest trolley. (During their time with Blu, they have learned how to make it through the jungle and city very quickly without flying).
On the trolley, they both had their wings together, sitting at the front end and admiring the city in its nightly tone. Mikka appeared to be very happy in Leo's eyes, and he held her good wing tight, which made her smile deeply.
She said to him, "You still love me, Loveo?"
"Always." He chuckled.
"Good. Because it better stay that way." She giggled back and kissed his cheek. "I love you too, my Loveo."
"Hmm." Leo smiled, and gave his wife a loving embrace. "You're the best."
"So are you." She sighed, and they continued enjoying the ride.
However, they had something important on their minds. For so long, since they've moved away from their parents to live on their own, Mikka's wing was permanently cut deep. She couldn't fly anymore and Leo never stopped blaming himself for it. So he always did his best to protect her and prohibit himself from flying.
(Except for maybe at some times when the whole gang is flying together, like when they went to the movies, or if he needs to).
Mikka felt like she was too much of a heavy anchor for him, and at times when she would try to convince him to fly again, he either ignored her and tried to find a way to make sure he wouldn't argue with her. So the best she could do was roll with it. But both birds let themselves forget about it. Knowing that they didn't want to discuss over it, and just continued watching the city.
Leo said, "Do you ever feel like we're just too lucky to be living in a place as amazing as this?"
"Lucky, no." Mikka replied. "I say this home is just something to thank Heaven for. But I think what you should be asking, are we just too lucky to have kids like Blu and Jewel with us. That's another thing to be thankful for."
"Hmm. Good point. Those two have always been great friends to us. I just hope that when they reach our age, they won't want to move away."
"I hope so too. But knowing them and this massive land, I have hope that they won't. But let's not dwell on that. Right now, I just want to enjoy the ride with my Lov…" Mikka suddenly stopped, hearing something from the distance.
"Yeah?" Leo questioned. "Mikka, are okay? You were about to say something."
She shushed him for a second, then had her bad wing pointing to one specific area. Near a small park there was a big group of kids together, which looked like they were having a party of some kind. It was bright and colorful, and such beautiful music was playing.
Then Mikka finally said, "Leo, I think some kids are having a party. Ooh, can we go down there?"
Leo took a good look at it, and by the looks of it, it seemed pretty cool. So before he answered he could see Mikka's adorable pleading eyes. He smiled and shook his head, "Okay, okay. We'll go. But let's not let it keep us distracted with staying out too long."
"Got it!" Then Mikka took his wing, and they both jumped off the trolley from its spot before running to the park.
They got to zoom through the street and hid in the bushes, watching the crowd. There appeared to be just one big group of human kids having a lot of fun. Two of them were playing an instrument and singing such exhilarating music while the rest were in many pairs, dancing together. Suddenly, Mikka recognized the two singers.
"Oh my gosh. Leo, look it's Garrett and Rebecca." She said.
"Really?"
"Uh huh."
The two looked, and they saw them perfectly. Garrett and Rebecca were on a small stage and singing together while all of their friends were the audience, show off so much exhilaration like there was no tomorrow, and they sang…
("Man in the Mirror" by Jack Alexison)
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
(Ooh!)
I'm asking him to change his ways
(Change his ways, ooh!)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that
(Take a look at yourself and then make that)
Change!
They both sounded fantastic together, and Mikka and Leo both thought so too when they came out of the bushes and into the front of the stage. They danced along in perfect harmony and loved the human music. In fact, they were so caught up with it that only a few of the kids got to notice them. One of them being Andrea, the girl who loved all animals and was the first to see them. So she cried out to her closest friend, "Hey John, look."
"My word." Said John. "Is that Mikka and Leo?"
"I think it is, and look at them, they're dancing! Oh, don't they look cute?"
"I guess."
"Hang on a second." Then Andrea went through everyone, telling the girls to look over and see Mikka and Leo. Same went for John when he told the boys. And then eventually, before the song was done with its last verse, Garrett and Rebecca were able to see them and got more excited with shouting out the final words.
Then Leo had Mikka dipped down when the song stopped. Which made the whole gang cheer and have the birds realize they were noticed. They would've felt embarrassed like Blu and Jewel, but instead they could only feel flattery and joy.
Andrea came to them and said, "Aw, Mikka and Leo. I can't believe you're here, and your dancing was amazing. I never knew you could dance." They smiled seeing her, and allowed her to carry them by standing on her shoulders. "Aww." She went. Then John approached them before petting Mikka's neck.
Garrett and Rebecca came to them next.
Garrett chuckled, "Wow. If they're out here then could Tulio or Dr. M be out here? Or even Blu and Jewel?"
Rebecca, "Hm. I don't see them anywhere so I can't say if they are. But these two look alright and Leo looks like he can still fly."
"Yeah, I guess so. Ha, I didn't think we'd see you two so soon after this morning. I wonder what you guys been doing."
He gently pet Leo's shoulders, and knew that he couldn't understand them anymore than the others or Andrea could. However, Andrea brought them down to a table and gave them a paper and pencil, because they saw earlier that he could write too. Almost as well as Blu could.
How are you guys doing? He wrote.
Tara replied, "We're all doing great. We're still enjoying our vacation here, and will still be here for about another week. What about you?"
Leo continued writing, We are also great. Blu and Jewel are asleep in their nest and we are out, traveling through the city on a date.
"Aww." Andrea said again.
Has anything new happened? Especially for our superhero?
"Superhero?" Garrett questioned. "Me? Hehe. I'm not exactly a superhero, guys. But I accept the compliment."
Rebecca, "And right now what's new is that we're having a karaoke party out of the hotel."
Ashleigh, "Something that we wanted to form up in order to pass the time for tonight in this exotic city. And it seems you two are now new guests in it."
The birds liked the sound of that, and very soon another pair got on the stage and started singing another song. Then the next, and the next, and each one was great as they made the party go well for everyone. Mikka and Leo continued moving to the groove, and even each of the kids got to dance with one of their feathery companions. Out of all of them, Andrea loved having them around. They were fun and beautiful to her, and they made her wish that she could take them and the bluebirds home with her to New York. But she understood how their home was in Rio only.
An hour later, everyone mostly relaxed on a few tables or picnic blankets. Mikka and Leo joined Andrea and John. Rebecca was sitting next to the stage, and watched Garrett as he put up another instrument before speaking to everyone.
"Hey guys, I know it's getting pretty late right now, and very soon we're gonna want to head back to the hotel. But before we do that, I wanted to play at least one more song. It's something new that came to my mind again and I wrote myself, and think you guys are gonna enjoy it. Especially our favorite Scarlet Couple here."
The gang chuckled, and then Mikka and Leo blushed before Garrett started playing a mobile keyboard and sang…
("Here" by William Phillips)
My dear it seems we're here again
So much for effort
Isn't it clear we're here again
Our thing right where we left it
A delusion is a flight first class to nowhere
While a dream is a blueprint
A plane to go there
To go there
It sounded very gentle and peaceful. It was the kind of song that made the Scarlet Couple feel completely at ease before giving into the notion to dance.
Rebecca was still sitting in front of the stage, and when she heard her boyfriend playing that amazing song, her heart pounded hard and her cheeks were burning red. She was feeling more in love with him than ever. And as the birds continued dancing, they silently spoke.
"Mikka?"
"Yeah?"
They both smiled.
"You know how some couples in the world usually do something special like…claim what their favorite song is?"
"I think I do. And I take it you want to claim this as 'Our Song'?"
"Only if you want to."
"In that case." Mikka smiled and slowly kissed Leo, and the only ones who noticed were Garrett and Rebecca. Seeing that made the two humans stare at each other, and they felt the same love that their friends did. It was a beautiful spark that affected their hearts in the best way possible.
Very soon after, Garrett stopped singing, and everybody clapped before he kissed Rebecca. Then they, and Mikka and Leo each said "I love you" in their minds. Both pairs knew that everything was going great from themselves and everyone.
"You're the best." They also said, and then Rebecca got to carry the birds.
"I think you two seriously made our night." She said.
Garrett, "I'll say."
Mikka and Leo felt proud of themselves, and continued their time with their friends before finally arriving at home an hour later.
"Well that was fun." Mikka said to her boyfriend.
"Without a doubt, and somehow I feel like our new friends made our time at home even more fun."
"Yeah. I just wish they would stick around for much longer."
"Me too. But hey, if we're lucky, maybe Andrea, or Garrett and Rebecca will probably come here when they reach our age."
"Feathers crossed, and again…feathers crossed that Blu and Jewel won't want to leave."
"Oh, I don't think they will. After all, I feel like this family is just too big to break apart."
Leo kissed his girlfriend and slowly walked into his nest to sleep. Mikka wished to do the same thing, but as he mentioned their family being big, she thought to herself, "Too big to break, huh? Hmm." She smiled deeply. "I hope that means you'll be as ready as I am soon." Then she walked into the nest before letting him put his wings around her, and enter the world of slumber.
"Goodnight, Loveo."
"Goodnight, Mikka. I love you."
One year later, everything for the gang began to change one morning. On the morning of Valentine's Day, Blu and Jewel came out of their nest yawning and stretching. Both of them appeared to be more tired than normal after waking up.
Jewel yawned deeply. "Man, of all the times we could've had trouble sleeping it had to be last night."
Blu replied, "I know. I was so tired from that loud screeching I couldn't tell if I was already awake or having a nightmare. But, I think right now, we should just be glad that it ended and even now everything is quiet. In fact, the sunrise looks extra beautiful today."
"Do you want to watch it and relax?"
"Definitely." They both smiled and sat down at the entrance of their shared nest, watching the sunrise go up again, and no noise went through the air except for the blow of the cool calming wind. It made the two blue lovebirds enjoy their moment of peace much more. Until, "Hey guys." Leo cried, and it made the two kids jump "Ah!" Leo saw that and said, "Whoa, sorry."
"Ugh, Dad. Don't do that." Blu said.
"Oi, sorry guys." Leo giggled. "I didn't mean to spook ya. I wanted to talk and show you something."
Jewel, "Is it something that'll help restart my heart?"
"No. But I think your heart will start again when you see this. Mikka and I have a surprise for you. One that I hope Blu of all birds will love."
The words that came from Leo's beak interested the chicks, so they followed him to his nest where Mikka was laying down. She had a large smile on her face, and Blu and Jewel were very curious to what their friends wanted to share with them. Then, Mikka moved her wing away from her belly and revealed…an egg. The chicks gasped. Leo smiled, and noticing that his friends had some smiles on them too. Blu's was a little faint but noticeable.
He said, "An egg. Am I…going to have a sibling?"
"Yes, sweetie, you are." Mikka said. "You're going to have a baby brother. Or sister. Either way, something really amazing is coming. Aren't you excited?"
"Actually…I am." Blu's smile became bigger. "I am going to be a big brother."
Jewel was also happy, and she got to give a big hug and kiss to his cheek. "Oh Blu, this is so amazing. Congratulations, you two!"
"Thanks." Said the Scarlet Couple.
"Wait." Jewel said. "Does this explain what that screeching was last night? You were in labor?"
Mikka, "Oh. You guys heard that? Sorry, I didn't think about how loud my screaming was."
Blu, "But that's okay. I think right now we're just glad that things are quiet now and that we have each other to prosper on this amazing moment."
Leo, "I agree."
On one wing, Leo held Mikka, while on the other, he held the two chicks. The four together were in a big group hug and stared at the egg. All of them felt very happy, and while a part of Blu felt too shocked about it, he knew better than to let jealousy affect him. So he continued smiling, and also remembered that despite what Mikka and Leo have done for him after a whole year, he still wanted to remain loyal to his original parents.
Part 1 is complete, and if I can, I'll complete Part 2 after the 9/11 oneshot.
Now that another one is done, here are some more things to mention.
For those of you who noticed a comment from me in this story, I'd like to point out that was an accident. It was a comment meant for Alexriolover95's Star Wars story. So sorry. And speaking of which, I think he and a couple other friends have some more good questions.
He (Alex) sent one asking, "If you only had time to say one thing to Sunset, what would it be?"
I replied, "Well, my friend, I think that would be answered better in the 'Arsenal Saga' story, which I will continue eventually. However, I think it would go like this: 'Sunset Shimmer, for so long ever since you changed, you've done a lot of good. But you've also had your heart crushed and shot at multiple times. You never deserved that. And I wasn't going to let that happen again. I…I love you.'" I felt my cheeks become red again for saying that, and then I got stuck into my fantasy world again. I imagined myself getting a tap on my shoulder. Then turning and see Sunset Feather standing beside me and she says, "Aww! You still feel that way about me, C?" My cheeks suddenly became more red, and then she kissed me again to my surprise. Which made me feel good before she released it and said, "I love you too." Then I woke up from my Endless.
Then I remembered there another question from a friend (StormKnight089), but I would like to reassure him that I already answered it in my H&A story.
Then came another question from an anonymous friend (6477311), "How would you feel if certain studios from your church like BYUTV or Living Scriptures created MLP Generation 4-5?"
I responded with a chuckle, "Well…if they did do that then I would just have another excuse to enjoy the show so much."
So that was the last question, and I have some more things to bring up. For anything else, I feel like all these mentionings would be better put at the bottom of all my chapters from now on, and just for one more record…
There are no musicians named "Jack Alexison" or "William Phillips." I made those up to replace their real names given how strict this site's rules are. they are really Michael Jackson and Pharrell Williams. And speaking of Pharrell Williams, I'm sure he didn't do any music in 1996, which is what makes Six (aka Garrett) so interesting. Not only is he kinda invincible and is able to see visions of other dimensions, but he thinks is able to write songs, when really they are songs from 1999-2025. How cool does that kind of power sound?
Next I also want to establish the minor differences between the Mikka and Leo in this story and the Mikka and Leo in H&A's First Story, but I think I took up too much space as it is. So anyway, I hope you guys liked this, and are looking forward to my next stuff.
