Chapter 1: something new is here.
Lincoln POV
My name is Lincoln Loud, currently age 15 in high school. What I feel right now is indescribable.
Honestly, I probably feel lonely. For starters, I can't hang out with my sisters because we have nothing in common. I mean, all of them have different interests, but even then, they find something to bond over.
But when I try to find anything to bond over with any of them, it's like trying to mix oil and water.
Then after my sisters, I tried to hang out with my best friend Clyde but then remembered he was staying in Hawaii with his dads for the summer.
I tried to see if Ronnie Anne wanted to hang out. I could see if Lori, who got back from her final year of college if she could drop me off out there while she could see Bobby.
When I tried to video chat with her, she wouldn't answer. That's been happening a lot lately, ever since we got to high school.
Now I'm just sitting in the mall food court eating pizza. While I sit here feeling sad for myself after trying to play my sadness away in the arcade.
While I sit there, I overhear a conversation at the other table with two girls.
"Did you hear the mall got a new store?" One of the girls with blonde hair said.
"Yeah, I did, but one of my friends went in and found out it only had old stuff inside." The second girl with brown hair said to her friend.
"Aww, man, I thought we could get some adorable clothes. are you ready to go?" The first girl then voiced her opinion and asked her friend.
"Yeah, let's go." The second girl then answered, and they both got up and left.
A new store? I never heard of any new stores, not even from Leni. Well, I have nothing better to do than check out an antique store.
I walk over to the map and see the new store in the east wing. It doesn't have a name listed, but it is there.
I got there and saw no sign in front of the store, so I went in. I walk in and see cards, watches, belts, bowls, and cups.
I see no one at the counter, so I continue to look around. I turn around from the counter; then I turn back around and see a man at the counter. I jump back in surprise, and he talks.
"Hello, young man. How may I help you?" He asks me with a smirk on his face.
"I'm okay. I just came to look around." I said and looked at him while he had a puzzled face.
"You cam into a store to look around? That sounds kinda stupid." He says to me in a condescending tone.
"Your right. Okay, I will buy something." I then start to look around for something not to look so stupid.
"How about a belt?" He says to me, and I look at them to see they have belt buckles with letters 'KR' on them. They all hang on hooks and, oddly enough, have numbers of '1-24' on them.
"Yeah, I'll take one. How much?" I look in my wallet and see only 10 dollars I have left from the arcade.
"Umm, how about 11 dollars?" He says, and I start to panic.
"Umm, the thing is, I only have 10 dollars," I told him, and he looked surprised but then started to think.
"How about you get two 5 dollar items, and I give you the belt for free." He says, giving me a choice.
I nod, and he smiles, then looks at the belts and gets a confused look. I just turned around and walked into the store.
Everything was over 10 dollars until I saw a gun and steel pole worth five dollars each. I grab them and walk back in the front.
"Hey, is the gun real or a toy." I don't think my parents would like me to bring a gun home. He turns around and looks confused.
"Umm yeah, it's a toy gun." He then looks back at the belts. I look at him, confused as well.
"Aren't they all the same?" I say, and he turns his head around and looks offended.
"How dare you! No, they are all special in their way." He practically yelled at me. He calmed down and looked at the belts before grabbing the belt on the number 1 hook.
I grabbed it and took it. And I was looking at it for a while. There was something about it I couldn't explain.
"You ready to buy?" The store seller said, snapping me out of my trance. I nod and give him my money.
"I added a little something for your gun and pole." He says, and I see a holster for the gun on the right and a holster for the pole that looks like one for a baton.
I walked out since it was getting late. As I walk out, the store seller waves goodbye at me and smiles. I say goodbye and start to run home.
Even if I ran, it was late when I got home, so my family had already eaten dinner and gone to sleep. I don't feel hungry, so I go upstairs. Before making it upstairs, I hear a voice.
"Lincoln, sweetie, is that you?" She asks in concern of who was in her home at night.
"Yeah, it's me, sorry," I say in a quilty tone for being late to get home.
"It's alright, be back sooner next time. Do you want me to warm up some leftovers?" She asks me in her usual motherly tone.
"Nah. I'm just going to go to sleep." I say and start to head upstairs.
"Alright. Goodnight." She says, and I hear her food steps move away.
I make it to my room and get in my pajamas. I take one last look at my new belt then put it on my dresser.
3rd Person POV
In the night, the belt that Lincoln Loud had just bought started to glow. It then shot a white beam of light at Lincoln's abdomen. The light then changed to red, blue, green, purple, black, and gold. It then stopped and spread the light all around itself in the same color order. It would then stop, and it would be silent for the rest of the night.
