Chapter 16 Big Brother To the Rescue

Lucy lay helpless as Angelica flew at her. The giant rat had managed to get back up after being knocked out from the fall. Lucy managed defeated the love obsessed girl, Sherry. It wasn't easy since the weird chick used Doll magic that allowed her to turn Lucy's own Celestial spirits against her. But Lucy had managed to beat her in the end when she'd summoned Aquarius, the temperamental water spirit had attacked both of them at once, taking away Sherry's advantage and allowing Lucy to fight her. Now she was too exhausted to move.

The rat leapt at her as she forced herself to get up. But she knew she wasn't going to be able to beat it. Lucy had no real skill in hand to hand combat, and she didn't have a weapon aside from her whip. She'd used up too much of her magic power and couldn't summon any more spirits. She was certain it was over. But then someone leapt in front of her, sword slashing. The rat fell once again.

Lucy saw the red haired figure and smiled. "Erza!"

The knight gave her an evil glare, her eyes the a brighter shade of red than her hair. Lucy then realized Erza was angry with her for breaking guild rules. Then another voice sounded behind.

"Where is Wendy?"

Lucy felt a shiver run down her spine as she turned and saw Natsu as well, fire burning around him. His face twisted in rage. Happy flew by his side with a frown at Lucy.

"There you are Lucy! I-"

Carla appeared from up in the sky. She went silent as she saw their three guildmates that had arrived on the island.

"Natsu, Erza, Tomcat!" Carla said.

"Don't even think of running away!" Erza snapped, pointing to the ground.

Carla whimpered under the knight's terrifying gaze and slowly came to the ground. The three proceeded to tie the white cat and Lucy up on Erza's order.

"You betrayed Master Makarov, and now you must be punished!" Erza said.

"Where is Wendy?" Natsu asked again.

"She's back at the village defending it from people who want to destroy it!" Carla said.

Happy flew up to scout the island and quickly located the spot where the village had been. The villagers had moved to a storage area nearby since their homes were all destroyed. Gray was asleep in one of the freshly put up tents, still recovering from his injuries. Erza stayed in that area with Lucy as her captive to wait for Gray to wake up while Natsu and Happy were led by Carla to where she'd last seen Wendy. But there was no sign of the younger Dragon Slayer when they arrived. Yuka and Tobi were gone as well.

"She's not here!" Natsu growled, shaking Carla as he carried her bound form.

"I can see that! I would assume that would mean those two captured her, but their scent is fresher than hers!" Carla said.

"There's a fourth scent as well!" Happy noted as he flew around. "That one seems to get real close to Wendy, then they both go off."

"There must have been another wizard that came along and defeated her after she defeated the other two!" Carla noted.

"That jerk's got my sister?" Natsu hissed. "WELL HE'S GONNA REGRET THAT! AFTER THAT SCENT!"

"Hold on!" Carla said. "They're likely taking her back to the temple, there's a lot of wizards there including the one that beat up Gray! We'll need back up! Waah!"

Natsu tossed her into the air, the rope coming undone as he did so.

"You go get the others and let them know what happened, we're saving my sister and then we're getting out of here!"

"Yes sir!" she said before flying off. I just hope Wendy will somehow get free and prove to him she can look after herself.

Wendy woke up to find herself tied up. She was inside the temple where they were before! The guy calling himself the Cold Emperor, Lyon, sat on a throne, he regarded her with cold eyes. With him in the room were also Tobi and a masked man.

"Ahh!" Wendy said as her head hurt.

"I see you're awake now, little girl," Lyon said. "I must say I'm impressed with your abilities despite your age. You defeated both Yuka and Tobi at once. Quite a feat."

"Arrr!" Tobi made a doglike sound. "I've never seen someone that could overcome my paralyzing claws."

Wendy looked around at them. "What happened?"

"I brought you back here as a guest," the masked man said.

Wendy suddenly remembered, it had all happened so fast. That man had charged at her and knocked her out before she could do anything.

"I ordered the villagers be destroyed, Zalty," Lyon said looking at the masked man. "But I realize you haven't officially joined us yet so I can't blame you for not carrying out that order. But may I ask what is it you want with this girl?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just to use her as bait to lure her brother here. In fact he should already be on the island by now," Zalty said as he levitated a crystal ball which glowed.

The ball showed an image of Natsu running through the jungle at high speed.

"Big brother!" Wendy exclaimed.

"So that's her brother?" Lyon stated indifferently. "He's nearly here."

"Yes, he's known as Salamander. An S-class wizard, and I believe he brought the one known as Titania with him. Both of them will be quite the foe."

"They're no match for me," Lyon stated with arrogance. "But why is you wish to lure this man here? If this gets in the way of my plans to revive Deliora…"

"Oh it won't, Cold Emperor I can assure you. I merely intend to see the power of a dragon slayer with my own eyes. According to rumors I've heard both Salamander and this girl… the Sky Maiden… were raised by dragons and gifted their power."

"Whoa! Dragons, really?" Toby exclaimed.

"What nonsense," Lyon stated.

"Its true!" Wendy told him as she struggled against her ropes. "My mother was a dragon! And so was big brother's father!"

"Are they not both your parents?" Lyon asked.

"No," Wendy said.

"Hmph. Well Zalty, I hope you have a plan to deal with this Salamander? While I have no doubt I would crush him I would prefer not to use up my magic energy as Deliora is supposed to be revived tonight."

"Oh, not to worry your highness, I shall deal with him myself," Zalty said. "And if it is not too much trouble I would like to officially join your circle of wizards."

"Whoa, I didn't how you were a wizard too!" Tobi said.

"Yes as it so happens I've delved into a particular kind of lost magic."

"Fine, we could use another wizard," Lyon said.

Wendy, meanwhile struggled against her bonds. But it was in vain, she growled at her captors.

"You better let me go!" she shouted. "Or my brother will burn you alive!"

"You maybe too strong for Tobi to manage but you would not last against me," Lyon said. "Gray was no match for me either. I am the greatest wizard alive!"

An explosion sounded nearby and a tall pink haired dragon slayer wearing a vest emerged from the wall as he broke through it, Happy flying behind him.

"WHERE IS MY SISTER!" he yelled.

"Natsu!" Wendy exclaimed in joy.

Natsu growled as he turned to her. "You're gonna get a spanking after I rescue you, Wendy!"

Wendy turned red at the thought of that. "I'm too old for that!"

"Well you're gonna be punished!" Natsu said as he looked around at the others in room, sniffing. He then looked at the masked man. "Ah ha! So you're the one that kidnapped my sister huh? Well prepare to be burned!"

"I'll handle this," Zalty said as he faced Natsu.

"Very well," Lyon said as he got up from the throne and began to walk away. "Tobi, lets go prepare for the ceremony."

"Rrr!" Tobi made another dog sound.

Natsu yelled as he charged at Zalty who levitated a crystal ball.

"Wendy!" Happy flew at the bound dragon slayer.

The blue exceed chewed on the ropes and freed her in a few seconds.

"Thank you Happy!" Wendy said gratefully as she moved her arms. "Where's Carla and Lucy?"

"They should be here soon! If we leave now we might be able to catch them before they get here!" Happy said. "We're getting out of here!"

"What? No! We have to stop them now or that demon under the temple will be released!" Wendy said.

Happy hesitated. "Erza and Natsu agreed to get you and get out of here!"

"I'm not leaving!" Wendy insisted as she got up.

The young dragon slayer ran off after Lyon and Tobi. If she could just take down the leader, she'd stop them! That would be enough for her.

"Wendy!" Natsu called as he looked after her, only to be hit by Zalty's crystal ball.

Wendy followed the scent up a staircase and spotted them several flights up. She saw them.

"Stop right there!"

Lyon turned and saw her. "Tobi, go on. Perform the ceremony. I'll deal with this little brat!"

Tobi ran off to complete his task as Wendy faced Lyon. This was it, the final confrontation for this mission.

Well, Wendy is sure a different character in this compared to her Fairy Tail canon self. This Wendy is pretty eager for battle. Though I guess living with Natsu from a young age and being Erza's pupil would probably influence her to become more ruthless or at least confident and fond of battle unlike the Wendy we know and love in the original Fairy Tail. Just a thought as I was writing it. The Galuna Island Arc will probably end in the next chapter or two, after Wendy defeats Lyon or something like that. Then we'll skip ahead to Lisanna's return from Edolas, though I might have to have at least one chapter before that if I decide to go through with a certain change in this story.
