Chapter 27 Date with Lisanna

Lisanna made her way to the area where Natsu and Gildarts were training together. Explosions covered the area, the ground and even the trees within fifty feet around the two most destructive mages in Fairy Tail were either burned or cut into teeny tiny splinters. Lisanna stood in awe, amazed at her childhood sweetheart's growth. She'd been taken to Edolas just shortly after he'd become S-class. Now he was on a level near Gildarts?

"Hey Natsu!" she called running down toward.

Natsu and Gildarts ceased their training and looked her way.

"Oh hey Lisanna! How is your training going?"

"Good, Mira has been helping me with some new takeovers," Lisanna said. "But… I was wondering about… um… our date?"

Both of them blushed as Gildarts gave a big grin.

"You know when I got back I was wondering how you two were doing. I thought you would have become a couple by now."

They turned a brighter shade of red that looked ready to explode.

"Umm… maybe if I hadn't been taken to Edolas," Lisanna said nervously.

Natsu looked at her. She was so cute. He'd missed seeing her face so much these past few years. As she said those words, he remembered what he'd told Lucy when they had all been in the Fairy Tail basement.

I-I admit I was pretty weirded out whenever she called herself my wife. But losing her… that did make me realize that deep down I did have feelings for her.

Would he have realized that if she hadn't disappeared? Or would he have just been stuck with being weirded out? Natsu didn't know.

"Uh… yeah. Maybe," he said. "So you wanted to go on a date Lisanna?"

"Yes," she said looking at him, the worst of her blush receding.

"Great!" he said with a grin. "So what did you have in mind?"

"How about a dinner at my house?" Lisanna suggested.

Natsu grinned.

Lisanna was busy at the stove putting together the meal. She had on an apron over her dress. She had on the same dress she'd worn in Edolas which Mira felt was the prettiest as it complimented her white hair the most. She'd thought of a red one but Mira felt that didn't work for her little sister the way it did for her. She wasn't a black wearing girl either like her sister. Blue seemed to suit her best according to Mirajane. The same could be said of Lucy though. The blonde girl had an incredible body, but Lisanna wasn't many steps below. She'd known Natsu since they were kids.

Lisanna finished the meal and let out a content sigh as the air filled with the smell. Natsu always loved food, so if she could cook up a good enough meal, she could win him over for sure.

There was a knock at the door and Lisanna walked over. She opened it and found Natsu in the doorway. He smiled at her. She looked over him. He'd put on a more covering outfit as opposed to his usual vest. A red shirt, not too fancy but good looking nonetheless. His usual pants and of course his always present scarf.

"Hey Lisanna," he said.

"Hey," she said. "Come on in."

Natsu did so and looked around.

"Where's Mira and Elfman?"

"Oh they went to the guildhall for dinner. So we're all alone," Lisanna told her longtime crush.

"Okay," Natsu said as he sniffed the air. "Mmm, something spells good."

"Yeah I made beef stew, I know you like meat," Lisanna said.

She walked over to the pot on the stove and opened the lid. Inside was a tasty looking brown stew with pieces of beef, as well as vegetables such as carrots, corn, and peas inside. Even though Lisanna was vegetarian she was willing to make the occasional break.

"Wow that looks great Lisanna!" Natsu said. "And it smells even better!"

She felt her heart beat fast. The petite take over mage took a ladle and put several spoonfuls of the soup into a bowl before handing it to Natsu.

"Yeah!" He said as he began to run to the table nearby and begin to chow down. But he remembered what Mirajane had said to him earlier in preparation for the date. Mind your manners with my sister!

Natsu stopped and looked back, waiting for Lisanna. She smiled and fixed herself a bowl as well, then they both sat down at the table. Lisanna waited in anticipation as Natsu brought a spoonful up to his mouth. He chewed the solid parts and swallowed as she watched.

"Mmm!" he said.

"You like it?" she asked eagerly.

"I love it!" he said.

Love. That made Lisanna blush.

"Is Happy with Wendy and Carla?" she asked.

"Yeah," he said.

They talked and ate Lisanna's soup (with Natsu eating many more bowls than Lisanna). She told him about how she had managed to pick up some good cooking skills in Edolas and listed a lost of recipes, some of which she might never have the chance to make again since some of the ingredients were only found in Edolas.

"Well if all your recipes are this good I can't wait to try more!" Natsu said. "You're gonna make some guy real happy one day."

She blushed at the mentioning of her possible future husband.

"Do you remember when we played husband and wife when we were kids?" she asked.

"Yeah," Natsu said seeming to shake a little.

"Sorry if I was a little creepy back then whenever I called you my husband. You said that when we were with Lucy."

"Eh… we were kids," Natsu shrugged.

"I always had a dream to someday find my prince charming," Lisanna said. "I guess every girl does."

"Yeah… I never really concerned myself with that really," Natsu said. "I was always focused on finding Igneel. You remember you said you wanted to meet him someday?"

"Yeah. I still do. I hope both you and Wendy find your parents someday."

"Gildarts said he found a dragon," Natsu told her.

"What?" Lisanna exclaimed.

"It wasn't Igneel or Grandeena though. He said it was black and it nearly killed him," Natsu said.

"That sounds terrible," Lisanna said. "It must be an evil dragon."

"I don't know. Well I'm sure I can kick its scaled butt since I'm a dragon slayer," Natsu said.

Lisanna looked at him in concern. "Be careful if you do. I wouldn't want to lose you."

"And put you through the same misery I went through thinking you were dead? Not on your life!" Natsu said.

He reached across the table placing his hand on hers. They smiled at each other.

"I want to try something," she said getting up.

She walked over to the music lacrima in the Strauss house and activated it. A song began playing and filled the house.

"Would you like to dance?" she asked.

"Um… not sure," Natsu said.

"Oh," she looked disappointed.

Seeing her expression Natsu quickly change his mind.

"Well… if you want to. I've never really done that before," Natsu said.

She smiled. "Alright!"

She took both his hands and immediately started the dance fast. Natsu was spun like a top, and he screamed.

"I don't think this agrees with me!" he said. "Ah! This feels like being in a vehicle!"

And he barfed on the floor.

"Sorry Lisanna," Natsu apologized as she finished cleaning the last of the mess.

"No I should have remembered you were motion sick. That doesn't usually apply to dancing though," she said.

"Guess I'm just the most motion sick guy in the world!" Natsu said.

"So… um… can I ask you a question?" Lisanna asked as she escorted Natsu to the door. "Who gave you the better date? Me or Lucy?"

Natsu hesitated. "Um… well you definitely made a better meal than the one me and Lucy had."

Yes! Lisanna thought and she had to suppress the urge to jump for joy.

"But I think I could go less crazy on that dancing."

Aww! Lisanna's inner mood turned to a sad crying face.

"Oh," she said.

"But… I still haven't decided," Natsu said.

"Okay," she said. "Well… I'm glad you enjoyed the stew."

"Now I need a new meal," Natsu said as he patted his now empty stomach. "Good night."

"Night," she said as he stepped out the door. "Maybe when we get back we can do this again?"

"Yeah, definitely!" Natsu said looking back and grinning.

Well sorry for not being late on this chapter last week. I got in a car crash yesterday so that put a kink in my plans to get it done yesterday.
