Tiffany unlocked the door to her apartment after a long day at work.
"Ah, feels good to be done with work for the day." she said, taking off her shoes. She was definitely happy with her current occupation as a nurse.
Jessie was supposed to come over, so she needed to get in the shower and prepare for dinner. But, there was one thing she had to get done before she did anything else.
"Audrey, I have a surprise for you." the blondie said to her roommate. She came out of her room, holding what looked to be a bible.
"What surprise?" she asked. Tiffany then showed her a bag that was sitting on the table. It was a familiar bag that this ex-addict recognized on sight.
"W-Weed?" she asked, extremely surprised that her roommate gave her some sticky icky, even after being sent to rehab for it.
"Yeah. I know things have been confusing since the mob situation, so I went out and got you some of your favorite. It's yours."
The redhead looked at the bag, then looked at her best friend. She then grabbed the bag and chucked it out the window of their apartment.
"A-Audrey?!" the blondie exclaimed, realizing what her friend had just done.
"I went to rehab to stay sober, let's keep it that way."
Tiffany smiled. Her best friend had finally conquered her ongoing drug addiction.
"I'm proud of you." she said, hugging her best friend.
"Thank you. From now on, this bitch gonna be sober. No more drug raging or random betrayals. I hurt enough people already." she said.
The blondie then went to take a shower. She needed to prepare for their special guest.
Audrey just sat on the couch, reading the bible. It seemed like she was really into it. As soon as Tiffany came out of the shower, she sat next to her, wondering what was next. She still had one major question.
"So, whatever happened to Clyde?" the blondie asked.
"I don't know and I don't care. Wherever he is, I wanna stay as far away from him as possible. What he was doing was traumatizing. I just hope he gets some help for his mental problems."
She nodded. Clyde definitely was a mentally disturbed individual. The blondie then noticed what she was reading.
"So, what's with the bible?" she asked, kind of intrigued at Audrey's choice of reading.
"Oh, this? Yeah, since I'm not on drugs, I figured I could find another way of dealing. My boy Jesus got me covered."
She chuckled. It was kind of funny seeing her getting all religious.
"Well, I should start preparing dinner. Mom should be here any minute now." she said, getting up from the couch and heading to the kitchen.
She set out the tortillas and began to heat some sausage and eggs.
I love breakfast burritos, even though it's dinner time.
As she was stirring the meat, there was a knock on the door.
"Oh, that's probably Mom. Audrey, can you please answer the door for her? My hands are full."
The redhead got up and answered the door. She was greeted by the blonde MILF in leopard-print clothing.
"Hey, Misty. Welcome." she greeted, referring to her by her old porn star name.
"Oh honey, I'm not Misty. Not anymore, at least. Just call me Jessie." she said, flattered by Audrey.
"Oh, right. Kinda forgot about that." she said.
She came in, greeted by her daughter in the kitchen.
"Hey Mom. How are you?"
"Oh, I'm doing great, now that I'm here with my daughter. I'm glad we get to finally spend some quality time together."
She smiled, feeling the same way that she did.
Jessie then smelled the air. The sausage and egg smelled delicious.
"Oh wow. That smells good, Tiffany." the blonde MILF complimented.
"Aw, thanks. I've had a lot of practice. I could probably beat you in a cookoff." she said, teasing her mother.
She chuckled, as this was sad but true in a funny way.
"They should be ready in 10 minutes or so. You just make yourself at home."
Jessie sat down next to Audrey on the couch. She was extremely surprised to see her reading a bible.
"The bible?" she asked, mesmerized at this sight.
"Yeah, the bible." she said, really focusing on the verses.
I bet she's gonna convert herself into a Catholic. Runs in my family.
"Catholic, Methodist, or Baptist?" she asked.
The redhead looked up, not aware of what she was talking about.
"Excuse me?"
"Which branch of Christianity are you gonna convert to? Catholic, Methodist, or Baptist?"
"Uh, I don't really know. I like how Methodist sounds, though only because it has the word METH in it."
"Audrey!" Tiffany shouted from the kitchen, shocked at what she just said.
"But, I might become a Baptist. That's the one I'm more familiar with. My uncle was a Baptist until he, you know?"
Oh right. Nathan passed way in January.
"What about Catholic?" the blonde MILF asked.
"Nah, I'm not that into it. Besides, your daughter's already Catholic, or so she claims."
She ultimately dropped the conversation. This was SUMMER, not Vacation Bible School.
"Dinner's ready." the blondie said. Jessie and Audrey went to the dinner table, ready to chow down on Tiffany's breakfast burritos.
The blonde MILF looked at her plate, admiring the appearance of the tortilla filled with sausage and eggs. It was beautiful, in a weird way.
"Do you have any salsa?" she asked, realizing that's what she was missing.
"Yeah, here you go." she said, handing the bottle to her mother.
"Thanks, Sweetie."
They all began to eat. This was definitely better than the failed Valentine's dinner from January.
"So, how was work today, sweetheart?" Jessie asked.
"Oh, it was slow, but decent. I'm making a lot of money too. Though, it's not really about that. It's more about taking care of sick and injured people."
The blonde MILF nodded, understanding. Her daughter always cared for people.
"So, what about you? How's your job been going along?" Tiffany asked.
She chuckled. "It's entertaining, to say the least. So many crazy people shop there. It's actually pretty funny. I always have a new story to share with the girls every weekend at the bar."
"Oh really? What kind of stories?"
"Like, weird-ass boys simping for me. One time, I had some guy walk up to me, asked me if I knew where the melons were. I said 'yeah, over in the produce section next to the grapes and bananas'. He then says 'you wanna see some grapes and bananas?'. I didn't know what he was saying until he pulled down his pants, exposing himself in front of everyone. Next thing ya know: security is tackling him to the ground and beating him with a nightstick."
Audrey spewed out laughing, almost choking on her burrito. Tiffany, however, wasn't too pleased with this.
"Oh my gosh. Does this happen often?" she said.
The blonde MILF nodded. "Yep. Thankfully, they usually get banned for sexual harassment. Just cause I'm an ex-porn star doesn't mean I'm still willing to take rude comments like that. Having a steady job is all that matters to me now. I left that life behind."
"Good. I can't imagine how aggravating it is trying to work in a store and having so many simps lining up in front of you. Everyone at Glenberry did the same to me until JD became committed to me on my birthday last year. It was so sweet."
Oh yeah, I should really ask about him.
"So, what's the deal with him? Is he alright?"
The blondie shook her head. "That's a story for another time."
"Aw, okay. Hey, tell him that Marlena said she was sorry for splashing him the other day. It was just a harmless prank."
"I will." she said, dismissing the subject.
They finished dinner and began to unwind. It was finally time for some mother-daughter bonding. Oh, and Audrey of course. Can't forget about her.
They watched TV, chit-chatted, and had a relaxing time together. No drama, no emotional breakdowns, no BS. Just casual bonding time between the Mayes.
"So, do you have anything else planned for your Summer?" Tiffany asked.
"No, not really. I can't think of what else I wanna do."
"Hmm... Say, you wanna come to the water park with me and some friends next week?"
Her eyes lit up. "Me? The water park?!"
"Yeah. Me, Audrey, and Nikki were gonna go to the water park next Wednesday. If you wanna come, you are more than welcome to tag along."
She smiled, flattered by her daughter's offer.
"Honey, that sounds like so much fun. I'll definitely go." she said, accepting the offer.
"Awesome. We're gonna meet up around 1-ish? I have the graveyard shift that night, so we'll have all day to hang out. You can invite some of your friends too, if you want."
She was happy about this. More time to spend with her daughter was definitely good.
I hope Lola's in town that day.
Jessie left the apartment, satisfied with their bonding time. It was a long time coming, but she definitely earned it. Next week was gonna be a blast.
