Chapter 41: Support Lost
Alright, ten more chapters or so and this story should be finished. Well, I've decided to focus the remaining chapters on different battles.
First Up will be Wendy Carla, Elfman, and Evergreen vs Rustyrose. I just rewatched the fight in Episode 107 so I replicated it as much as I could with a little addition. Of course I didn't copy the dialogue word for word as that would take too much time. I might not have Rustyrose's speech down but ah well.
Wendy and Carla stood facing the mage with sunglasses along with Elfman and Evergreen.
"Well there are certainly more of you than I," the mage said. "But I have no need to fret! For I Rustyrose of Grimoire Heart am armed with the Arc of Embodiment! Saint Beast: Bulcusas the Thunderclap!"
Suddenly a large metallic creature appeared.
"Saint Beast huh? Pretty manly name," Elfman said.
"Quit with the real man stuff! It's a real pain!" Evergreen said.
"Let's focus on the enemy, no time for quarreling!" Carla said. "Wendy, use your support and enchanting magic!"
"Right!" the youngest dragon slayer said with a nod. "O strengthen of arm to cleave the heavens! ARMS!"
The four allies began to glow in response to Wendy's magic.
"Oh, enchanting magic huh? This may prove to be a challenge yet!" Rusyrose said. "What a marvelous display!"
"O swift wind that dashes through the heavens! VERNIER! And… Armor!"
Now everyone's attack, speed and defense were improved. Carla felt the surge of power.
"Incredible!" she said, for this was the first time that she'd actually had her abilities enhanced by Wendy for combat. "Now, transformation!"
She grew into her tiger form, ready to take on the beast that the enemy mage had summoned.
"Take Over: Beast Soul!" Elfman transformed as well. "This should be my manliest attack yet thanks to a little help from Wendy!"
"Your magic power is formidable I must say. But it shall not stop the creation of the grand magic world! A world where only the great wielders of magic can live! We will find the Black Wizard Zeref and make him the new ruler of this world!" Rustyrose said.
"Hate to burst your bubble pal! But we had a long chat with Zeref!" Elfman said. "And he was nothing but a man cursed to destroy life the more he values it! He has no interest in being a king over the entire world. All he wants is to die himself!"
"Nonsense! He is merely asleep right now according to Master Hades!" Rusyrose said. "We will awaken his true self and then he shall bring about our vision!"
"This guy is insane!" Evergreen said. "Ah well, just have to pound some sense into him!"
"He is an enemy of Fairy Tail, and I will not let him harm any of my friends!" Wendy declared.
"Alright Evergreen, use your stone eyes to turn them to stone!" Elfman roared.
"I can't do that you idiot! It only works on humans, and he's wearing sunglasses!" Ever stated. "My petrification is useless against both of them!"
"Well, just have to settle this with a pair manly fists!" Elfman said as he charged at the summoned beast.
"I hope you don't mind a little lady help!" Carla said as she pounced at it as well.
"In that case, me and Wendy will go after the summoner!" Evergreen said.
Wendy drew her daggers and followed her senior guildmate who ran at Rustyrose. He should have been easy to take in a fight, summoning wizards were often weak in the body since they relied on other being to fight for them like Lucy did.
"Jet black sword!"
His right arm turned into a clawlike black sword. He swung at Evergreen, who just barely managed to dodge thanks to Wendy's enchantments. She then managed to land a kick on him that sent him back. He grunted.
"What's the matter? Can't take a woman?" Evergreen asked.
"Oh, you are quite formidable thanks to that enchantment. I will have to be careful it seems! But my magic is the power of imagination, anything I envision will come to life. Seems I will have to use my complete set if I am to prevail! Very well! Golden Shield, I call upon thee to guard me in my left hand! And Pegasus Wings to to walk on air!"
A golden shield appeared in his left arm to protect him, and wings appeared on his shoes.
"Seems like this guy isn't so weak in the body like other summoners!" Evergreen said.
"You think I would allowed to be a member of the great seven kin if I could only summon?" Rustyrose asked. "Your mistake. Now I believe it is best to take care of the support first!"
And he flew at Wendy, his clawlike sword thrusting toward her. It pierced her!
She gasped and fell, with her unconscious, her enchantments were disengaged.
"No! Wendy!" Carla yelled.
Elfman grunted as he felt his strength plummet and saw his young friend go down. "Get her out of here! She's the only healer we got! Can't lose her! Leave this guy to us!"
"Right!" Carla said sadly.
The large white tiger flew over and picked up Wendy, the girl was still alive. The injury she'd received wasn't as bad as it could have been. Her defense enchantment had worked to save her life, but she still needed help!
That left Elfman and Evergreen to fight Rustyrose themselves. Though they fought bravely, without Wendy's enchantments they didn't stand a chance. It ended when Rustyrose used his Tower of Dignir to immobilize and blow up around them.

Natsu immediately began moving in the direction of Wendy's scent. He'd had Happy carry Lisanna off so she should be at Base Camp right now. He only hoped she was safe and that that area hadn't been attacked yet. He was alone, and even though he was perfectly capable of defending himself as an S-class wizard being alone wasn't good when facing an army.
Then he caught a scent. A terribly familiar scent.
"Him!" Natsu said. "What's he doing here?"
It was the scent of the masked man that had kidnapped Wendy and been using Lyon's group on Galuna island. Natsu was tempted for a moment to go in that direction and give that guy another pounding! But then he caught another scent.
Blood. Wendy's blood!
Well had to have at least some rounds for Fairy Tail go wrong. Unlike in canon, Evergreen actually managed to land a small hit on Rustyrose thanks to Wendy's enchantment magic. But it still wasn't enough after he recognized her as being the one providing them all with a power boost. Next time we might get Natsu going after Rustyrose, but we'll see. I think I'll go into the fight between Gray, Loke, and Lucy vs Caprico next. Well, I might wanna include Levy in that one too since she is Lucy's partner. Also I forgot about a part for Gildarts until now. Hmm… Keyes hasn't been shown yet. I guess he and Gildarts can fight as well. As for Kain Hikaru not sure where I'll take him. He probably won't be having that fight with Lucy, Natsu and Happy now since Cana's not around to knock Lucy out and abandon her. Who's gonna get him then? Any suggestions? I guess I could have Natsu go save Wendy and beat up Rustyrose then go after Ultear only to find Zeref and Kyouka, then Gray would have to come as well to reunite with his father and Ultear. I'm just making this up as I go along really. I'd love to hear what you guys have in mind.
