Chapter 43 Leo vs. Capricorn
Gray, Loke, Lucy, and Levy were all now in a ruined structure of some kind with the white goat man in the suit. None of their attacks had managed to make contact. Everyone was getting tired. Something had to be done.
Then suddenly Capricorn gasped, and put a hand to his ear.
"How unfortunate, but we must adapt to things go awry!"
"What is he talking about?" Lucy asked.
"Must be some sort of communication he just got. Guess things are going bad for them somewhere," Gray said.
"Well I hope that means things are gonna get better for us."
"It would seem our Tartarus allies have betrayed us," Capricorn informed his opponents. "I was content with playing with you all until now but it seems I can no longer take my time. Prepare to die."
"Yeah bring it on!" Gray said.
"No Gray!"
Loke… or rather… Leo, leader of the Zodiac spirits stepped forward as Gray prepared to try and fight again.
"This isn't a battle you can win," Leo stated. "He's using human enslavement magic. It controls and lowers the abilities of humans. He's been using it against us, that's why we haven't been able to land a single blow."
Gray grunted. "Damn! What do we do then?"
"You three need to get out here, leave him to me."
The three wizards looked at their guildmate as Loke transformed into his Leo form with the suit and the spikier hair that looked like a mane.
"But Loke-" Lucy started.
"No Lucy. You won't be able to help," Leo said. "You'll just be a burden here. I'm the only one of you who isn't really human."
"Lucy?" Capricorn asked.
"He's right Lulu, we're at overwhelming disadvantage against this guy," Levy said. "Plus there are six more of them on the island somewhere. Even if things aren't going well for them we still aren't friend with Tartarus. We need to go out and help."
Lucy began to tear up. But Loke/Leo gave her a thumbs up.
"Don't worry beautiful. I got this."
"Loke, promise me you'll come back alive!" Lucy said.
This caused Capricorn to gasp, as he recalled something familiar. Looking at the blonde girl, he saw it.
"You! You're Layla Heartfillia's daughter aren't you?" he asked.
Crap! He figured it out already! Leo thought. "Go! Now!"
And the lion spirit charged at the goat.
"Come on!" Gray took Lucy by the hand and lead her out as Levy followed. "We got to get out of here!"
Lucy wanted to stay, to ask how the goat knew her mother. But helping her friends was more important.

Leo fought Capricorn, whom he was surprised to learn had been living in the human world for a long time… seventeen years! That shouldn't have been possible! He himself had barely managed to remain alive for three years after the death of his last owner whom he'd been indirectly responsible for.
Capricorn did something that he did not expect. He SUMMONED humans but that was impossible! A Celestial spirit could not do that! Then Leo figured it out.
"You aren't really Capricorn are you?" Leo asked.
"No. I'm Zoldeo! I was once a servant of Lucy's mother Layla!" the Celestial spirit confirmed. "I tried to possess Capricorn, but doing was an act of taboo! The laws of human enslavement magic dictate that it can only be used on humans. Using it on a Celestial spirit however, caused me to be trapped in Capricorn's body! However… I can still switch to another! Like yours!"
Suddenly Leo saw himself surrounded by darkness. He had to act fast! He filled his hand with his power, Regulus. He struck with the yellow fistful of light, hitting Caprico.
But too late, for Zoldeo had managed to take his body. Or so the dark mage thought. Taking a few deep breathes Zoldeo looked at his body. Finally he was free of that goat spirits body and back to a human one, or mostly human. This would suffice, he would have the power of the leader of the Zodiac spirits. This was how he'd lived since becoming a dark mage, possessing one more powerful body after another and gaining those abilities and magic.
"Now, I'll kill Lucy Heartfillia, then I shall be human fully!" Zoldeo declared. "Should be easy with this body. She'll never see it coming."
He began to turn and try to walk after her. But suddenly… Caprico rose and struck him with a fist full of light. Zoldeo screamed and black vapor that was his spirit erupted from Leo's body, freeing the Lion Spirit of the dark mage's control. Zoldeo emerged, taking back his physical form of a human.
"What, but how can you still be standing Capricorn?" Zoldeo asked angrily. "Leo's attack should have knocked you out!"
"I didn't really attack him. That was just a power up!" Leo explained.
"Sorry if I was a bit rough Sir Leo," Capricorn apologized to his superior spirit.
"No. You needed to use that much energy to release me. Its fine," Leo said.
"Well… at least I have my physical body back!" Zoldeo grinned.
Only to feel an incredible amount of pain as he began to disintegrate.
"What's happening?" he asked in a panic.
"You broke the rules of your magic, so now you must suffer the consequences. Your own body is dying since you possessed a Celestial spirit one!"
"No! Help, Capricorn!" the dark mage reached out to his victim.
Within seconds he was no more. That was another of the Seven Kin down. Both spirits sat there for a few minutes and then vanished.

Lucy's keys glowed as she ran with Levy and Gray. She received a message.
"He won!" Lucy said. "And he says Capricorn was possessed by the real Seven Kin back there! So now Capricorn has agreed to be my spirit!"
"Phew, what a relief."
"So is he on his way back?" Gray asked.
"Um… afraid he's too tired to remain in the human world now," Lucy said. "He and Capricorn are recuperating in the Celestial Spirit world."
"What! But that leaves me without a partner!" Gray exclaimed. "Ah well what can you do? I'll get even with him later!"
"Come on! Lets go join the others! Then we can defeat those dark guilds!" Levy said.

Bluenote Stinger stood with the remaining members of the Seven Kin, at least those that had managed to get to him. Rustyrose and Azuma. Zancrow, Capricorn, and Ultear were all down now, and Meldy and Kain were nowhere to be seen.
"Its good at least you two managed to find me," Bluenote said.
"Knowing Kain he is likely lost somewhere in the forest being the unintelligent oaf without rhythm he is. As for Meldy I assume she is looking for Ultear now," Rustyrose said.
"Well, the three of us should suffice. Two of the Seven Kin and our Deputy Commander," Azuma said. "It seems I will be seeing more demons today! They'll pay for what they did to Master Hades!"
"Let's go!" Bluenote said.
The three of them began to walk through the forest in search of their backstabbing allies.
Well Capricorn/Zoldeo is defeated. I just rewatched the episode to be able to make this chapter. It was pretty much the same but even I (who have the best memory out of my immediate family) couldn't memorize every detail so it was a bit shorter. Ah well, from this point on it I don't think it will have many things the same as canon.
Next Chapter: Grimiore Heart Strikes Back! Will be released sometime next week. Most likely on Thursday or Friday as my writing intern day where I write this out has been shifted to that day instead of Tuesday.
