Chapter 12

Love Potion

Ginny stood in the kitchen, once again brewing her intricate potion. She was having a hard time with it since her knee kept throbbing, and she needed to sit down from time to time. She looked at the clock and smiled, realizing Hermione would be home relatively soon. Ginny pulled out a vial and quickly suctioned some potion in it. At that moment, her knee throbbed painfully and she slipped and dropped the vial.

"Bloody hell," she said and began to panic as her knee throbbed from having collided with the counter and she quickly realized that within the next 5 seconds the potion would move out of that brewing stage and she would lose her chance to study it. Ginny quickly reached over and grabbed a cup off of the counter and scooped some out just before it began to change color.

"Thank goodness!" Ginny said and put the cup onto the counter so she could analyze the contents later. "Now I need to clean this up," she grumbled. She looked back at the clock and nodded. She had ten minutes before she needed to stir the potion and allow it to cool so she could get her final sample.

"Gin, I'm home!" Hermione yelled and Ginny smiled and bent to pick up the glass as well as she could with her aching knee, worried Hermione might come in and step on it. She looked up and smiled when Hermione walked into the kitchen.

"Be careful I dropped a vial. Glass on the floor," Ginny said as she bent to pick up more pieces.

"Need help?" Hermione asked as she approached the counter.

"I might need a bit, to wipe up the potion," Ginny said, then paled as she looked up at Hermione putting the mug on the counter to her lips.

"Hermione don't drink…" Ginny said in a panic, but Hermione had already taken a large gulp of the potion. Ginny tried to stand quickly.

"Wow…that's really good. Smells good too," Hermione said and began to drink more.

"Hermione stop drinking that!" Ginny said and rushed over to her taking the mug away.

"That is so good. What is that?" Hermione asked with a confused frown.

"Bloody hell," Ginny said and dumped the rest of the potion into the sink and gripped the end of the counter, her knee throbbing in worse pain from moving so quickly.

"Whoa," Hermione said and put her hand on her head leaning against the counter, "Ginny what was that?" she asked, sounding a bit scared.

"Amortentia," Ginny gritted out between her clenched teeth. Hermione's eyes went a bit wide before she clamped them shut again.

"Amortentia…a love potion? Why was it on the counter?" Hermione asked sounding groggy.

"I dropped my sample. I needed it in that stage to study," Ginny said with a grimace of pain. Hermione focused her eyes on the redhead.

"Are you alright?" Hermione asked and came up behind her.

"My knee is aching again. I need to stop moving so fast…..are you ok? Did you drink a lot of it? Do you feel sick? I'm so sorry Hermione," Ginny blurted out as she tried to stand up straight.

"Ginny, I feel fine. Really good actually," Hermione said.

"Maybe I should start the counter active potion to it. Just in case, it wasn't fully done, but it was close. I don't know if it will have any effect," Ginny said and turned around. Hermione smiled at her and stepped toward her, wrapping her arms around her waist.

"What ever will make you happy," Hermione whispered. Ginny frowned a bit, but put her arms around the brunette.

"Are you sure you're alright Hermione?" Ginny asked. Hermione nodded against her chest.

"I feel really good Ginny," Hermione said, "I missed you so much while I was gone," she whispered.

"I missed you too," Ginny said and frowned a bit more. Hermione seemed to be acting a bit strange, but not overly so. Ginny's breath hitched in her throat when the brunette's hands slid back around her and up her sides.

"Gin," Hermione whispered. Ginny gulped.

"Yeah?" Ginny said.

"Kiss me," Hermione whispered and slid a hand up into Ginny's hair and pulled the redhead down into a searing kiss. Ginny thought she had fallen directly into one of her fantasies. Ginny felt her knees go a bit weak and this time it didn't have anything to do with her bad one. Of course, she still had a bad knee and after a few moments of intense and almost aggressive kissing her knee did give out.

Ginny felt herself beginning to fall down. Hermione gasped and quickly wrapped her arms around the redhead again, stabilizing her.

"Are you alright, honey?" Hermione asked sounding extremely worried.

"I'm fine," Ginny said, taking a deep breath. "Hermione….why did you kiss me?" Ginny asked and closed her eyes at the brunettes answer.

"Because I love you," Hermione said. Ginny turned around and leaned forward onto the counter again.

"Baby are you alright?" Hermione asked and ran her hands up Ginny's back. Ginny closed her eyes and tried not to cry, it hurt to hear the brunette say that knowing she didn't mean it. "Ginny?" Hermione asked waiting for an answer.

"Hermione….do you know what's happening right now?" Ginny asked.

"Right now I'm worried about you," Hermione said. Ginny sighed.

"Hermione, you just drank a love potion…. a bloody powerful one," Ginny explained as she turned around.

"That's nice," Hermione said with a smile and put her hands on Ginny's waist.

"No, Hermione it's not nice. It's bad…really bad. Everything you are feeling right now is not real," Ginny said and began to back away from the brunette.

"It's definitely real baby," Hermione said, stepping towards her. Ginny continued to back up and Hermione continued to follow.

"Don't call me that. Hermione we are not together…remember. We are best friends," Ginny said. Hermione grinned and moved closer.

"Ginny, do you think you can outrun me?" Hermione asked teasingly and Ginny laughed for a moment but kept backing up.

"Gin, I just… I need you to kiss me," Hermione said, coming closer. Ginny grimaced as her knee throbbed again from the awkward movement of backing out of the kitchen and across the living room.

"Hermione, we don't kiss," Ginny said.

"You've kissed me before," Hermione pointed out.

"That was a long time ago," Ginny said and noticed that Hermione was getting closer with each step they took.

"You don't want to kiss me?" Hermione asked with a smile.

"I didn't say that. Hermione, none of this is real. You're smart, you know what Amortentia does. Remember what it does?" Ginny asked.

Hermione began talking as if reciting out of a text book, "Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in existence. It causes a powerful infatuation or obsession from the drinker. It has a distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rises from it in characteristic spirals," Hermione said, lifting her hand and twirling her finger in the air as she said it.

"Yes, that's true. You accidentally drank some. You don't really love me, Hermione," Ginny said.

"Yes. I really do," Hermione said and grinned as Ginny tripped backward, she had run into the couch and was now laying on it. Hermione crawled on top of her, straddled her waist and leaned down to kiss her deeply.

"Hermione," Ginny protested through the kiss.

"Ginny…will you make love to me again?" Hermione asked against the redheads lips. Ginny groaned and closed her eyes.

"Hermione, we can't," Ginny grumbled.

"I just want you to touch me. I think about it all of the time. You are still the only person to have ever given me an orgasm. Ginny, I want to feel that again. I want to feel your hands on my body. Your tongue on me, teasing me. You make me feel like I've never felt before," Hermione whispered while kissing down the redheads neck.

Ginny gripped her fists hard, trying not to be affected by the brunettes sexy words.

"Ginny, please," Hermione pleaded.

"Hermione, we can't. I think about you too, but that doesn't change anything. Can you, please, let me up? I need to try to make the counter potion," Ginny said.

"Who cares about some potion," Hermione said in a frustrated tone.

"It's important, Hermione. You want to make me happy, right?" Ginny asked, using the effects of the potion to her advantage, she knew it gave the drinker an intense desire to please their lover. Hermione leaned back.

"Of course, I do. Ginny, I want to make you so happy," Hermione said, while caressing the redheads face. Ginny closed her eyes for a moment feeling the soft touch.

"It would make me happy if you helped me make this potion," Ginny said. Hermione frowned and bit her lip as if trying to decide.

"It would really make you happy?" Hermione asked and Ginny nodded.

"Alright," Hermione said, as if a bit confused and stood. "Do you need help walking?" Hermione asked as Ginny stood up. Ginny tried to walk a bit, grimaced and got frustrated as she realized that she probably needed Hermione's help.

"Yeah, I do….it hurts," Ginny said. Hermione pulled the redheads arm over her shoulder and helped her begin to walk back to the kitchen.

"Did I hurt you?" Hermione asked, sounding sad.

"No, I hurt me," Ginny said as they reached the kitchen. Ginny leaned against the counter and began flipping through her text book to find the recipe for the counter potion. It was difficult to concentrate since Hermione was standing behind her, running her hands up and down the redheads back and sides. Ginny found the page and pushed the book to the side.

"These are the ingredients. Can you gather them for me while I sit for a minute?" Ginny asked as she sat down in the chair nearby.

"Sure, baby," Hermione said and leaned forward onto her elbows on the counter while reading the list. Ginny smiled as she watched the brunette scan the list and lift her leg back and up a bit in a happy and carefree way. Hermione was wearing a skirt and it allowed the redhead to see the brunette's calf and lower thigh fully. Ginny looked up at the brunette who was now looking at her with a smile.

"You're watching me," Hermione said and Ginny looked away. The brunette walked over and stood in front of her and gently grabbed her face. She leaned down and kissed her softly. Ginny couldn't help but participate for a few moments.

"You are such a good kisser," Hermione groaned when Ginny pulled away. The brunette went back to the counter and leaned forward onto it with her palms, eyes closed in frustration. The brunette opened them again and tapped the book hard.

"We're out of this," Hermione said and slid the book in front of Ginny.

"Seriously?" Ginny asked and Hermione nodded, she went to the potions cupboard and pulled out a jar labeled Ashwinder egg.

"It's rare and I don't use it often, so I don't buy it often," Hermione said and put the jar back, she turned to the redhead and wrapped her arms around her neck.

"Now, since we can't make a potion will you please make love to me?" Hermione asked pleadingly. Ginny closed her eyes for a moment.

"We need to go to Diagon Alley then," Ginny whispered.

"Mr. Mulpepper's Apothecary is closed already, baby, and Slug and Jiggers closed down months ago," Hermione said and leaned down, kissing Ginny's chest, "We can go in the morning, but in the meantime will you please make love to me?" Hermione asked.

"No, Hermione….I'm really tired. We should go to bed. My knee is throbbing horribly," Ginny said and Hermione nodded.

"I'll help you," Hermione said, helping the redhead stand and to her room. "Lay down and I'll rub your knee a bit," Hermione said.

Ginny began to protest, but realized that she usually lost this battle regardless of a love potion. Ginny sighed and laid down. Hermione approached and began to unbuckle Ginny's belt.

"What are you doing?" Ginny asked quickly.

"I can't rub your knee with your trousers in the way baby," Hermione said and continued to pull them off.

"Hermione, please don't call me that," Ginny said, leaning back onto the pillows and putting her hand on her eyes.

"I'm sorry," Hermione said and crawled onto the bed and began to massage Ginny's knee. It hadn't been long when Ginny tensed, feeling the brunette beginning to rub slowly up her thigh. Ginny quickly grabbed her hand.

"Hermione, I think it's time for bed," Ginny said.

"Can I sleep here?" Hermione asked.

"No…you should sleep in your bed," Ginny said.

"Ginny, please?" Hermione asked and put her hand on the redheads stomach and gently caressed her skin.

"Hermione, it would make me so happy if you slept in your room. That way we could get up early and have a fun day together in Diagon Alley," Ginny said while grabbing Hermione's hand and bringing it up to place a kiss on the palm.

"Like a date?" Hermione asked excited.

"Sure. Like a date to get potion ingredients," Ginny said. Hermione leaned down quickly and kissed the redhead hard.

"I can't wait," Hermione whispered against her lips, jumped from the bed, turned off the lights and shut the door. Ginny took a few deep breaths before trying to fall asleep, she had a feeling she was going to need the rest.
