Chapter 12: Tony
There was nothing like an afternoon spent fighting aliens on a foreign planet.
Tony wove through fire from the Chitauri and Asgardian combatants as he soared over the city, raining his own hail of missiles and repulsor blasts on the enemy. It felt good to be fighting again, taking out all his pent-up anger and frustration on the Chitauri. It would make more sense to attack their mothership, he knew, but they didn't exactly have a nuke this time 'round.
"We need to evacuate the civilians!" Danvers called over the team's comm.
Tony looked around at the burning buildings below him. "To where?" he asked. "The whole city's under attack."
"Then we need backup," Danvers replied.
Tony glanced towards the part of the city where the new girl was fighting. He had to admit, her powers were impressive. But even the ability to throw balls of plasma wasn't going to save Asgard if the people themselves couldn't be protected.
"Sir, it appears the Asgardian infantry have joined the battle," JARVIS announced.
Tony looked towards the palace and saw several hundred warriors hurrying towards the fight. He smiled slightly. "Hey, Danvers, the backup's arrived."
