Chapter 47 The E.N.D. Arrives
Well only five more chapters to go after this. Six if you count both endings that will be coming up.
Mest Gryder, otherwise known as Doranbolt, had managed to teleport onto the magic councils command ship after Azuma's attack. The fleet was damaged but alright. Lahar, head of the Custody Enforcement unit stood on stern in front of him.
"Doranbolt, what's happened?" Lahar asked.
"From what I've seen, there's a three way war going on between Fairy Tail, Zeref, and Grimiore Heart!" Mest said.
"What? The three biggest thorns in our side and they're all here! This game has to rigged!" Lahar stated. "I have to inform the Council! Most likely the Chairman will seize this opportunity to destroy Grimoire Heart and Zeref!"
"You mean… an Etherion blast?" Mest exclaimed.
"I'm afraid so," Lahar stated without emotion.
Mest thought of the guild members of Fairy Tail, while he was bent on getting a promotion by having Fairy Tail disbanded, they didn't deserve to die. Lisanna, in the brief time he'd met her, she seemed like a pure sweet girl. And there was at least one child there too, Wendy. Mest could not ignore that.
"Give me that," Mest said. "I'll make the report myself."
Lahar handed the communication lacrima over to him, and Doranbolt crushed it.
"What?" Lahar exclaimed.
"I can't let that happen. Give me some time, we can save Fairy Tail!" Mest said.
Lahar narrowed his eyes. "Its not as though you've left me much choice!"

Mest teleported back to the island. Fortunately it looked like Azuma was gone. He explored the area for a time, looking for members of Fairy Tail. Eventually he did find two of them. The two guild Masters. Laxus and Makarov. Both of whom were severely injured. Mest ran over to them, moving Makarov closer to Laxus was easy thanks the old man's tiny stature. Laxus stirred and saw the man coming to their aid.
"Mest?"
"I need to know where the base camp is, try not to strain yourself," Mest told the large blonde guildmaster.
Laxus pointed him a certain direction and Mest teleported that way several times. Until he finally saw the base camp. Natsu, Wendy, Happy, Carla, Mirajane and Lisanna were there as well. Freed and Bickslow had gone out to search for their guildmates and help them get here. Natsu knelt over his sister who was still recovering from her battle with Rustyrose. Lisanna sat next to him, she squeezed his hand tenderly as they all looked at Wendy's sleeping form. Mirajane had taken over as leader of the base camp. She gasped upon seeing the two guild masters down.
"Master! Laxus!" she exclaimed and ran over to Mest.
"Oh my god!" Lisanna screamed as she ran over to help.
"Gramps! Laxus! No!" Natsu said.
Carla and Happy both teared up at seeing the two downed guild masters. Carla looked over at Wendy and well she knew the girl needed her rest, they needed her healing power. She walked over to her partner and gently shook her.
"Wendy. Wake up child please! We need your healing!"
Wendy opened her eyes. Immediately she got up upon seeing the two injured. Though she struggled she went to healing them without hesitation.
"Listen to me! I have a way to get out of this!" Mest said. "There is a Magic Council ship nearby! We can gather the rest of Fairy Tail and get off this island then-
"What's the magic council doing here?" Mirajane asked warily.
"I… I was sent to infiltrate your guild by them!" Mest confessed. "I was supposed to bring you down and disband you… but I'm saving you now! We have both the black wizard Zeref and Grimoire Heart on this island! Lahar is probably repairing the communication lacrima as we speak! We don't have time to argue! We have to-
"We're not going anywhere!" Natsu shouted seizing Mest by the throat. "Fairy Tail does not back down! We've made it this far and we're not going to give up now! Grimoire Heart has more than us to worry about here! Tartarus is on the island too and they've turned on Grimoire Heart. Those two dark guilds have probably dug their own graves not working together! Now we can finish them off!"
"That's right!" Lisanna agreed as she stood next to Natsu.
The fire dragon slayer looked at her with a grateful smile, thankful for the support she was giving him. How was he ever going to choose between her and Lucy?
Mest was in awe at the spirit the guild was displaying.

Zeref lay over the book of E.N.D. It was only a single page but had so much information about Natsu, that he was reckless, raised by a dragon and would be the end of Zeref and all his demons. As he looked at the single page filled with information, Zeref couldn't help but feel a tinge of regret again. He'd resurrected Natsu as the demon that could finally destroy him. But he'd wanted to do that before the curse had even began to make him wish for death. He'd wanted Natsu to be able to live a full life alongside him. That wouldn't be possible of course since Zeref would die soon… one way or another. But as he thought back to his time speaking with Natsu and the other members of Fairy Tail, he remembered Wendy. She'd stopped Natsu from attacking him and called him… big brother. A feeling of jealousy crept into Zeref. Wendy had gotten the brother that Zeref had always wanted in Natsu. But if Natsu died then Wendy… and everyone else close to him would be incredibly sad. Zeref recalled how in his own grief centuries ago he'd looked to defy the order of life and death which resulted in so many bad things happening. Zeref would be taking Natsu from the people he loved… recalling Wendy hugging his younger brother and holding Natsu back from attacking him made him imagine the little girls face tearing up.
Zeref sighed and he too cried. "I've caused so much pain to this world. I have to try and avoid that if I can. If… if I can spare Natsu then a bit more pain can be avoided."
He summoned a bit of magic to his finger. Though he didn't have a magic pen, he could still write with magic and had used this means to create the books of Zeref. He ran it along the letters, erasing, adding, and reworking. It took him about ten minutes but-
"That should do it. Now when I die Natsu won't," Zeref said. "Should I do it now? Hmm… I suppose so."
He closed the book and began to gather dark magic power.
"Awaken… E.N.D!"
The book began to glow red… and suddenly it burst into flames that took off into the sky… in search of its hosts body. It moved so fast nothing could have hoped to escape it. The fire roared as though alive.

It was heard by many of the remaining forces on the island. Gray, Lucy, and Levy were all nearly to camp with Ultear and Meldy following. In another area Gildarts, Cana and Lily were making their way there as well. Freed and Bickslow had found Elfman and Evergreen as well and also started back. There were also two standing members of Tartarus as well, both of which had different reactions to it.
"Master E.N.D is revived at last!" Keyes stated.
"Now is my chance to kill him!" Silver stated.
They looked up and saw the fireball for a moment. Then it came crashing down… straight toward Natsu who stood opened mouth.
Well hope everyone is glad to see me back after two weeks. Had a good trip to Modesto even if I didn't get everything I wanted to done. So now E.N.D is coming in! Next chapter: Silver Lining! I had Lisanna sticking by Natsu a bit in this chapter as you might have noticed so that the choice will be a bit harder for him to make. I'm sure she would have supported him as much as Lucy if she'd been given the chance to do so. But Hiro Mashima never gave her that chance. Well, either way both Nalu and Nali fans will get their own ending.
