Chapter 51 Return Home:
Natsu looked at the black dragons corpse for a time. Then he slowly pulled himself to his feet as the faces of those he had lost came into his head. His brother… Zeref… whom he'd only known for around twenty four hours now! And Igneel… the father he had searched for for over seven years… and only had back for a few moments. And Wendy… shed' lost Grandeena as well. Natsu had always imagined that the four of them would one day reunited happily and maybe become a bigger full family. Igneel would accept Wendy as a daughter maybe. But that could never happen now. Both their dragon parents were gone.
"Natsu!" a voice called.
Natsu looked over his shoulder and saw Wendy coming at him. Tears were leaking out her eyes, Natsu opened his arms as his sister threw hers around him. She sobbed into his chest. He slowly stroked her blue hair as he too began to cry. Happy and Carla watched them both, Happy crying and Carla looking sad. Gajeel stood in the shadows which cloaked his face. Levy had her hand on his shoulder. All three dragon slayers were thinking the same thing now.
What were they going to do?
"Hey, stop with the damn waterworks will you?" a voice in Natsu's head sounded.
"Igneel?" Natsu looked around, hoping by some miracle that his father was still alive. But there no such luck.
"This is my final spell, me and the other two are reaching out to you… our children."
Wendy looked up at her brother before she heard her mothers voice in her head as well.
"Wendy. Don't cry my dear," Grandeena said.
Gajeel also heard a voice.
"My son. I have one final thing to say to you," Metallicana said.
All three dragon slayers listened intently, though their hearts were heavy. All the other members of Fairy Tail had gone to give the dragons slayers some space and get ready to return home to the guild.
"Put your hands together, so that we can speak to all of you at once," all three dragons said their slayers child's head.
The three dragon slayers put their hands upon each other, linking the power remaining from their dragons to each other and enabling them all to hear each other.
"We are all very proud of you. You've all grown to be very strong wizards. We're glad that you have found this guild and made such wonderful friends. Natsu, you've grown so strong. I'm proud to call you my son," Igneel said. "And Wendy… I would be proud to call you my daughter as well."
Wendy's tears intensified.
"Father!" she wept.
"My dear girl. I would have liked to spend more time with you. Those years with Natsu were the best of my life. Your mother was lucky."
Grandeena spoke now. "I love you Wendy. Always. I will always be in your heart. You stay close to your friends… and your brother. Thank you for looking after her Natsu."
"Yes… Grandeena," Natsu said. "I will always take care of my baby sister!" Natsu vowed.
"Well… Igneel covered the whole proud of you thing. You should really get that face checked out Gajeel. Goodbye." Metallicana told his son.
"Way to ruin the moment you old rust bucket!" Gajeel shouted.
"That is all the time we have left to speak with you," Igneel said. "We hope that you all go on and live happy lives now that Acnologia is dead."
Then the voices of the dragons faded, as on the various parts of the island their physical remains began to vanish and turn into light energy.
"Goodbye!" Wendy shouted through her tears.

Makarov watched the dragon slayers on the boat ride home. They'd lost so much. Wendy was still hugging Natsu, the two were sleeping on each other, their exceeds next to them as Gajeel sat gloomily. Makarov felt another wave of loss as he thought of Hades, or Precht. The second master turned traitor had died of his injuries by the time help had arrived for Makarov and Laxus. Though he was an enemy now, Makarov still felt hurt to lose him.
Their boat ride was rather uneventful. But when they got back to the Port of Hargeon the Magic Council Custody unit was there. Lahar wanted to bring in Ultear and Meldy, but the two Grimoire mages had taken a different boat, one they'd made with magic. Lahar merely sighed after Fairy Tail's ship was found empty.
"You've certainly caused a lot of trouble, but you've brought down the Baram Alliance and Acnologia. The council has decided to allow you to remain intact," Lahar said. "But keep pushing and they may change their mind."

So Fairy Tail returned home where they would throw a big celebration for their victory. Everyone would partake in it except for the three dragon slayers. Happiness would come again, but right now Natsu and Wendy needed time to mourn for the loss of their parents.
Days passed, then weeks, and finally a month. Natsu and Wendy were able to enter the guild again with slight smiles to face their friends.
"Natsu! You ready to get back to doing some jobs?" Lucy asked.
"Oh yeah! Team Hot Air is back!" Natsu declared. "Me and Wendy are ready to give someone a taste of our wind and flames!"
"Now hold on!" Mirajane said. "I think someone still has a choice to make! Lisanna!"
Her sister came up from where she sat with her brother.
"That's right. We never got to see who you choose to be your girlfriend Natsu!" Erza said. "Lucy?"
Lucy blushed as she went over and stood by Lisanna.
"Well Natsu do you think you're ready to make a choice between us? Or do you still need time?" she asked.
Natsu shrugged. "Well… guess I gotta do it. But promise me something. No matter which one of you I choose… we'll always be friends."
"Of course Natsu! That's what Fairy Tail is all about," Lisanna said.
Lucy nodded. "I'll always be your friend Natsu. Even if you choose her."
Natsu took a breath and looked between the two girls.
Well…. here we are. About to enter the very end. The final two chapters will come out on the same day in two weeks. January 1st 2022. Can't believe that this story is nearly done. Its become my most popular story so far at 139 favorites! Please review. And for those of you who are wondering… the last two chapters will both be numbered 52, with A and B options. A will be Nalu's ending, and B will be Nali, so choose your ending. If you wanna read both go ahead. Wow, this has probably been the quickest chapter yet, just made it in under an hour!
I hope you liked the dragons returning last chapter. I thought of that for a few months now I believe. Do any of you know why they didn't emerge on the Tenrou arc when Acnologia came? I don't.
Also, do any of you have any suggestions for names for Natsu's children with Lisanna? I was definitely planning on having him and Lucy have a daughter named Nashi, since I know that character is now canon (at least for Edo-Nalu). Are there any popular children for Nali fanfics? Also, who should Wendy end up with? She can at least have a boyfriend by the end. Romeo is out since he's still a child at this time and seven years younger than Wendy, he won't catch up since she ages.
