Chapter 23
Potions Masters
-4 years later-
"Say mama. Come on, buddy, say mama," Ginny coached the little boy playing on the floor.
"Mama!" they heard yelled from the kitchen, making Ginny grin.
"She's talking to your brother, honey," Ginny heard Hermione explain as she picked up the two year old girl and came into the living room.
"He won't talk," the little girl grumbled.
"Not yet Rose, but he will some day," Hermione said, putting the two year old down and picking the baby up off of the ground. Rose ran to Ginny and jumped into her lap.
"Careful Rose, remember mama's knee," Hermione said sitting on the ground next to Ginny.
"Mamas knee boo boo," the little redhead said and pointed to Ginny's hurt knee then stuck her thumb in her mouth.
"That's right," Ginny said with a smile.
"Mama, fly!" Rose said.
"No Rose, we don't fly," Ginny said nervously.
"Ginevra, have you been flying with our daughter?" Hermione asked with a scolding look. Ginny grinned.
"Little tattle tail," Ginny grumbled and began tickling the two year old who laughed and giggled.
"Ginny…," Hermione said.
"We don't go high. I can't really fly well anymore, anyways," Ginny said with a sigh. "Maybe you should teach them to fly," Ginny said sadly.
"Not if they want to actually learn. I can't fly very well, either, baby," Hermione said, "Besides, they will learn at Hogwarts," Hermione said with a smile.
"True," Ginny said, "Or Uncle Harry can teach you to fly," Ginny said, laying back and lifting the little girl into the air and animating a quidditch match. "It's Rose Granger-Weasley coming from behind, she has the quaffle she shoots… and score! Ten points to Gryffindor! Rose Granger-Weasley single handedly saves the game!" Ginny narrated as she held Rose up and pretended to fly her around. Rose giggled.
"Quidditch!" she said and Hermione rolled her eyes.
"It's really not fair. I carried her and she is just like you. You would think that spell would allow us to both be prominent in our child," Hermione grumbled. Ginny laughed.
"It just gave me a mans reproductive abilities, Hermione, it didn't make Rose just like me. Besides, I think Billy is more like you and I carried him," Ginny said matter of factly. Hermione lift the little boy up and looked at him.
"You think?" Hermione asked. Ginny nodded.
"He's always looking, always analyzing things. Just like you do. Besides, Rose is a bloody genius too. She's way above the other kids at her muggle school, she definitely didn't get that from me," Ginny said. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"You are very smart baby," Hermione said and Ginny smiled at her then stuck her tongue out. The family then heard a series of pops.
"James! Abus! Lily!" Rose yelled and stood, running to Harry and Luna jumping in the sea of kids. A few more pops and Ron and his wife, Daphne, arrived with their two year old and baby.
"You finally made it!" Hermione said, standing and giving her friends a big hug.
"Hugo make sure you wash your hands before you touch any of your aunts things!" Daphne yelled at the little boy as he ran to catch up with the group of kids in Rose's room.
"He's not going to," Ron said with a laugh. Hermione came forward and took the little girl from Ron.
"You are just so cute," Hermione said as she tickled the little blondes stomach. She sat back down on the floor by Ginny and put her next to baby Bill.
"They are so cute together," Ginny said rubbing the babies backs.
"Too bad they are related," Ron teased. "Rose can still marry James or Albus…. or Lily, I guess, if that's their thing," Ron joked.
"I think they are too much like cousins, but who knows they really aren't related so it wouldn't be bad," Luna said as they all sat down on the floor by the two women.
"You don't all have to sit down here just because I get stuck down here," Ginny joked.
"I like being with you," Hermione said and leaned against the redhead.
"And we like being with her… being with you is fine, I guess," Ron joked. Ginny threw a blanket at his head.
"So did you get the cake? James was so excited for a snitch cake," Harry asked. Hermione nodded.
"Just like the one we made for your birthday that year. He's going to love it," Ginny said. Harry and Luna smiled.
"When's everyone else getting here?" Ron asked.
"In about a half hour or so," Hermione said.
"We got James a little practice broom signed by the Holyhead Harpies team. I know he's a little young, but the rating on it is in his age group. It won't go over a certain height or speed," Ginny said and Hermione nodded.
"I made sure," Hermione said and Harry laughed.
"I'm sure he will be ecstatic. He keeps asking for a broom," Luna said with a smile.
"That reminds me, Harry and Ron you may need to teach Rose and Billy how to fly. I can't very well anymore. My knee can't stay up and if I let it hang I lose balance, so it's not safe for me to let them on with me any higher than a foot or so," Ginny said.
"Hermione doesn't want to teach them?" Harry asked with a smile and Ron laughed.
"Not funny," Hermione said flatly.
"Daddy!" Lily yelled and ran from Rose's room into Harry's lap, "Woah, Lily, slow down. Daddy has special equipment there that you almost destroyed," Harry joked. Lily looked up and smiled running from Harry.
"Uncle Won!" she said and jumped in his lap. Ron groaned and took deep breaths.
"Destroyed mine," Ron said in a pained voice.
"Why does she like you so much?" Harry said with a laugh.
"I'm her coolest uncle," Ron teased and began to tickle the little blonde.
"You may be her favorite uncle, but we know who she really loves," Luna said, "Hey Lily… look, Aunt Ginny is here," Luna said and Lily jumped up and began looking around, then spotted Ginny across the room and ran to her. Everyone laughed.
"Yeah, yeah, Ginny is everyone's favorite," Ron grumbled.
"Not mine," Daphne said, kissing his cheek.
"Well, I do like you Ron, but Ginny is definitely my favorite too," Hermione said kissing her wife.
"You guys always have to make out!" Ron said exasperated.
"They are cute!" Daphne said, "Besides, it wouldn't kill you to kiss your own wife every now and again," Daphne teased. Making the group laugh. Ron smiled and pounced on his wife, knocking her down and kissing all over her face.
"Ronald! Stop. That's not what I meant," Daphne yelled laughing. Ron leaned back.
"Don't call me Ronald, it reminds me of Hermione scolding me," Ron said with a smile.
"Well I was scolding you!" Daphne said.
"You often need scolded," Hermione said.
"So Hermione, I heard the first book was just published in the muggle world. How did it do?" Harry asked.
"It was great, actually. Best seller. Everyone loves you Harry," Hermione said and the black haired man smiled.
"That one wasn't even our best adventure!" Ron said excited to see how the others would do.
"The only thing I don't like about them is that they end after the war. If you look at them you would think that Harry and I ended up together and you an Hermione ended up together," Ginny said.
"Well, I for one am glad I ended up with you. No offense, Ron," Hermione said, "Ginny is just so good in bed. My own personal sex god," Hermione teased and leaned against the redhead, making her blush. Ron rolled his eyes and everyone else laughed.
"Sex goddess, baby," Ginny said.
"So.. is this an inside joke or something?" Daphne asked and the rest of the group laughed.
Hermione leaned against Ginny as Ron and Harry explained the night at Harry's to Daphne. Ginny smiled and put her arm around the brunette. Hermione turned and kissed the redheads neck.
"I love you and I love our life together," Hermione whispered and Ginny smiled.
"I love you. You make me so happy," Ginny whispered back and the two began to kiss again.
"See… obsessed with each other," Ron pointed out and the entire group laughed again as the two women kissed softly.
"This is nothing. You should have seen her on the love potion," Ginny said making Hermione groan.
"Love potion?" Daphne asked with a chuckle.
"Yup. It was just after I got hurt and had to retire. I was working on my Healing Potions Masters and was studying Amortencia….." Ginny began to explain. Hermione leaned her head against the redhead and grinned listening to the story of how they got together with a smile on her face.
