Jon's pov
The first opportunity I got after that info-dump of a dream, I asked my Dad if I could talk to him. He immediately took me a bit further away from everyone else and smiled
"Sure, what;s going on?"
I sighed
"Ok, you know I have the other powers... But are dreams a thing? I got these sort of info dump dreams last night, telling me the origins of our people, our family history... I was at the Fortress, learning from Ceogi. He taught me culture, civilization, history, language..."
The look of shock on his face did little to calm my nerves. I seemed to snap him out of his thoughts
"Dad?"
He spoke up
"Sorry if I checked out a bit, I was just taken aback because this is not a common phenomenon. Not unheard of, but not everyday, normalized powers or smarts."
I nodded
"Ok... why me, then? And who was the last one to have something like this?"
He smiled
"Because you take after our ancestors and your mother in knowledge and curiosity and leadership. And the last one was my great-great-grandfather. He discovered a terrible truth in a dream, tried to warn his peple and they never believed them."
I couldn't understand much of what was going on
"So I'm connected to this special power of... visions or forseeing through dreams? Like a messenger or harbinger? Or like a banshee, I'll just be a walking doomsday alert? Doomsday as in the expression, hopefully not the creature."
He shook his head
"I can't know the extent of your powers, or their reason. Let's go to the Fortress and talk with Jor-El.
(A/N: Reference to character Harbinger and to Val-El of the SyFy show Krypton. I own neither, sadly...)
