Emma arrived at school, walking through the halls while Manny walked beside her. Manny continued talking but Emma couldn't focus on her, she was convinced everyone in the hall was looking at her as she passed.

Emma could hear whispering from them as she passed by them.

"I heard it's that loser Jay from the ravine. Wonder if the kids are swarming with disease too"

"Who would've thought that crusader girl could sink so low, like have some self respect, seriously!"

"I heard it's that Sean kid, that he was two timing that freaky goth girl with her."

"Nah it's that creep who brought the gun to school. Remember how she actually tried sticking up for him? I wondered if something was going on"

The more of the gossip and whispers she heard, the more she could feel her heart beating faster. Suddenly, it was getting hard for her to breathe as she felt everything begin to spin around her.

The next thing she knew she was in Sean's apartment bolting up from laying down.

"Em? What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked, concern in his voice and face.

She took a moment to catch her breath "I had another bad dream."

"That bad huh?" Sean asked worried.

"I was at school and somehow everyone found out they're Ricks. I can deal with the school hating me, but not hating them for something they can't control."

"Hey it was just a bad dream Emma." He pulled her closer as she laid her head on his chest.

"As far as I'm concerned they are ours, if anyone actually cares or asks, that's what we tell them." Sean had dropped Emma at her home while he headed to the garage for his shift.

Emma sat on the living room floor as she watched her brother Jack clumsily walk around the room while one of his kid programs played on TV.

"I have no idea how mom dealt with these shows when I was your age or how she still does it. Guess that's something I'm going to need to figure out, huh?" She said to Jack knowing he wouldn't reply.

"Mom makes this all look so easy and she was even younger when she had me." He was sucking on his sippy cup, he slowly went from sitting next to her to leaning against her.

'"I hope they turn out like you." He closed his eyes, falling asleep quickly. She realized she couldn't get up without disturbing him. "Hey mom?" She called her mother in the next room. "I need some help."

"He admires you so much, he goes to sleep so easily for you." She said, picking him up and placing him on the couch.

"Mom, what was it like when you first found out you were pregnant?"

Spike thought back for a moment, all those years ago. "I think the first symptom was I was angry with everyone, my mom, my friends, your father. Then guilty because your grandmother had plans for me to go to university. At one point I actually thought about adoption, but I couldn't bring myself to give you up."

"Before I came, did you ever wish you never gotten pregnant with me?" Emma asked, slightly worried about the answer.

"Emma what's going on?" Spike asked confused about Emma's question

"I love them, I don't want anything to happen to them and am excited to meet them but also...part of me keeps thinking why did this happen to me?" Her voice became more frantic as her mom pulled her in wrapping her arms around her.

"Emma, what me and your grandmother went through we chose on our own, sadly you didn't get a choice. But I'm so proud of how you're managing everything." They continued to hug, Emma while still worried felt much safer.

Paige sat staring nervously at the man working with the giant tattoo needle working on her forearm. It was uncomfortable but as she looked at the near complete image, she remembered why she was doing this.

"There, is this how you wanted it?" the man asked politely. Paige looked it over for a moment, it seemed to have no flaws or need finishing touches. She exhaled a breath she didn't know she was holding and felt a sense of comfort she missed for weeks.

"It's perfect, thank you"

As Paige paid the man and her and Spinner left, Paige spent the walk to his car staring at it smiling the whole time.

"It's weird, as horrible as I felt, this makes everything feel okay, like she's always with me."

"Yeah Emma was right, it was a pretty cool idea." Spinner said peacefully

"Even with everything she has to worry about ,she's still trying to help us."

"I mean she wouldn't have so much to worry about if she thought things through." Spinner said bluntly.

"The hell is that supposed to mean?" She snapped at him.

"There's talk that she doesn't know who the actual father is, just that he's someone from the ravine or at the school."

"People screw up, example the guy who egged the guy with the gun on!" Paige pointed out angrily.

"Why are you getting all worked up over her?" Spinner asked, wondering why Paige cared so much for someone she didn't know well until recently.

"You don't know anything about her or what she's been through!" She said storming off in the opposite direction."

"What…Where are you going?" Spinner called out to Paige.

Paige turned around to face Spinner angrily" I don't need a ride, I'm walking home." Paige resumed storming off

"But it's like an hour walk back home!" Spinner exclaimed

Paige just walked away even more angry and silent then before

Spinner gave up, sighing and getting into his car, starting it up and very confused about what just happened. What was going on with Paige?
