Summary: When Juudai said forever, when Juudai said only Yubel, that was exactly what he meant.
Vows such as theirs were forever. Juudai refused to think otherwise. Yubel sacrificed so much for him - claimed to have no interest in anything that wasn't him. Sometimes he wasn't sure if he believed them. But if that were what they wanted, then he would see to it that they were never alone in this. How could he even want to be with anyone else? The offers that others made didn't hold a candle to what Yubel did for him merely by existing. There wasn't any comparison worth making.
He'd sworn forever. He'd sworn no one else. That was what it would be - in this life and in all others. Yubel chuckled when he made his pledge to everyone, of course, running their fingers through his hair tenderly. "Of course, idiot," they told him fondly. "Is there anyone else who would ever want you?"
"If they do, they can't have me," Juudai promised. "No matter what, Yubel. It's only ever going to be you I love." He leaned his head against them, and they tucked a wing around him. Let the Light of Ruin bring the worst that it could - together, they would protect the universe.
