Emma was alone back in the dressing room. Paige, Manny, and her had gone dress shopping for the upcoming dance. Paige suggested this particular store which included maternity dresses and there simply was no hiding her bump anymore.
After trying on the red dress, Emma looked at herself in the mirror.
"Okay I'm coming out, be honest."
She exited the dressing room nervously. "Awww Emma, look at you!" Manny said excitedly, making a huge fuss. "You look so amazing."
Paige could only stare in amazement not sure what to say. The way the dress just fit her so well, emphasizing her pregnancy curves. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare." Paige said embarrassed.
"I take it you like it then?" Emma said, glad it looked good on her
"You look beautiful. It works on you so well" Paige stated.
Emma just smiled blushing slightly. "Plus it's long enough no one will notice if I go shoeless if things start to swell."
"Just embrace the look, you got cute feet." Manny joked. Emma snorted a bit amused.
The next day at school, Paige walked through the school halls where she found the rest of her band standing by Ashley's locker listening to Ellie rant about something.
"He's an idiot!" Ellie hollered.
"I mean he has his dense moments, but what did he do now?" Ashley asked, trying to calm Ellie down before she got in trouble for making a scene.
"No matter how many hints I dropped he just didn't get the message! I swear I'm done with guys!" The red head continued even more annoyed.
"Trust me no one would be surprised. Anyway listen up, they're looking for live music for the dance so some of the bands here at school are going to be performing. Not only will it help us get our name out there but with multiple bands it'll give us all time to trade off and get to have fun." Paige explained.
"I'm in. Give them a preview of what to expect at battle of the bands." Hazel said excitedly.
"Me too, maybe it'll help cheer Jimmy up, he's been more depressed lately." Ashley joined in
"May as well, not like I have anyone to go with." Ellie pouted.
While the others were talking, Paige noticed someone enter the hall catching her attention. "Okay yeah so we'll discuss this more later."
She left the other 3 and made her way over to her friend. "Hey Emma, so big news my band and I will be playing at the dance."
"Oh that's great!" Emma said excitedly.
"I know this dance will be amazing. Possibly the best one in degrassi history"
"I hope so, I want my last dance at Degrassi to be memorable." Emma said somewhat sadly.
"Wha-what do you mean your last dance?" Paige stammered confused.
"Most teen moms end up dropping out or doing home school, and they only have one at the time, not two."
Emma, you can't leave, we can figure something out." Paige stated upset.
"I don't want to think about it right now, let's just enjoy what we got in the meantime." Emma said wistfully
They were interrupted by the bell ringing forcing them to get to class. Paige took out her phone and started texting, trying to think of something.
Student council had just finished and the last one to leave as usual was Liberty. She was so focused on organizing her papers and notes she didn't notice anyone entering the room.
"Liberty we have to talk. It's important"
"Paige? What, are you suddenly interested in student council?"
"Degrassi needs an in school daycare for students with kids." Paige stated.
"Is this about Emma?" Liberty said, still annoyed over Emma's words about her and Chris.
"Yes! She is considering dropping out because of the babies. Maybe a daycare would help her and other students" Paige said hopefully.
"We can't just rearrange the school budget because she's your friend and her making a bad choice." Liberty said, wondering how Paige thought using a limited budget for that was a good idea.
"And what if she didn't make the choice?" Paige said before she realized she said too much. It wasn't her call to tell others what happened to Emma without talking to her first.
"Wait...what are you saying?" Liberty said with an ominous feeling about Emma.
Paige turned around and shut the doors to the room giving them more privacy.
"Look, just take my word for it, a daycare for students and maybe even teachers would help at degrassi. For them and their children's future. Then maybe they will have more choices in the future even if they didn't in the past" Paige said more carefully.
Liberty had a very bad feeling on why Emma was pregnant and an even worse feeling about who was the father.
"I need you to bring up the in school daycare at the next meeting. Don't make her or others suffer for something they may have had no control over." Paige half pleaded half demanded.
"Alright, she has my vote, but what about the others?" Liberty said softly
"Ya know, as much of a jerk Jay is? He has a soft spot for Emma, imagine if someone just let it slip they voted against it or were considering voting against it, forcing her to drop out." Paige said somewhat menacingly.
"As a member of this team I can't condone that...but that is great! Hopefully it won't come to that "
"I gotta go, but promise you'll at least bring it up." Paige said, Liberty nodded quickly. Paige turned to leave.
"Have you ever thought about just telling her?" Liberty asked softly
Paige stopped and turned. "Excuse me?"
"Like i said, telling her how you feel, see how she feels back?" Liberty said simply
"Ugh! Is it that damn obvious?"Paige huffed out of the room.
As she left she thought about who all knew her secret so far, J.T., Marco, Ashley, and now Liberty. At least that was all she knew. If they were able to figure it out who else could've? Spinner? Manny? Sean? Maybe she should talk to her rather then risk someone else letting her secret out.
