Hello all!
yes I am indeed alive, my inspiration and motivation are barely alive however.
Yeah I got a real problem... I have what... like 10 stories either in the progress of being written (apparently) or on hiatus till I have the time to write them? yeah... I am sorta pushing through... by writing for stories that I don't even intend to post in the near future (at least after my current four are done since I have four more bouncing around in my head, with a possible fifth in my over crowded mind, not to mention the 6 or so stories currently on the very very back burner.)
anyway, I don't know if I'll get the other three chapter out for this round of spam posting, but I can at least get this one out, the others may come tonight (where I am), tomorrow morning or whenever I feel like it...
anyway enjoy!
Chapter 6- "
(Shockwave's pov)
I struggled to keep up with my airborne creations, I had already lost visual confirmation of them and they were just reaching the edge of my radar's radius. My new alternate form is certainly faster than my previous one, even so, it is unable to keep pace with the beasts. Of course I did not expect to be the one to directly save Sloane, I only hoped that should anything go wrong, I'd arrive just in time to correct matters.
I raced through the human streets in chase of the two Predacons, breaking many of my own safety precautions as well as probably countless safety precautions of the humans.
And just like that, the two had escaped my radar's range. I now simply relied on their direction to hopefully point me in the proper direction.
Once I'd left the borders of the main town I veered off the road and took a more direct route to where the Predacons were headed.
It seems I needn't have worried about their capability to locate and retrieve Sloane safely, as within moments she was flying in atop their backs.
I transformed without slowing and skidded to a stop as I stared up at the three of them.
The two keen eyed predacons swooped down and landed before me.
Sloane herself didn't have such a graceful landing tumbling down to the ground at the sudden abrupt landing.
"Shockwave!" She cried not even carrying for any injuries she possibly just received as she stood up and ran toward me with a limping gait.
I stooped down to lift her up in my servo, once she was at eye level and ran a scan over her to check for injuries and any foreign substances. Just when I got to her head she closed her eyes and pulled away.
"Is there something you do not wish me to see?" I asked her authoritatively.
"No, but I know human optics aren't supposed to be exposed to direct light." She answered.
I accessed their internet and quickly did a search on her statement, I quickly had to translate a few words to the more accepted term and finally got results that explained her reaction to my scan.
"I understand, thank you for revealing that to me." I answered her.
"However, you will require medical attention." I explained seriously.
"That's what you're for Doc." She replied.
I looked back at the results of the scan, I noticed she was infused with some pain killers, but it was a measured amount as she certainly still felt pain and had some lucid moments… as well as some… less lucid moments.
"The logic Doc!" She giggled.
"And his two new creations; the predacon dragon twins." She exclaimed as she gestured wildly at the two.
"Wait, this deserves a celebration! Their first successful mission! awww… my babies are growing up!" she exclaimed a bit deliriously.
The two looked at their mission, stumbling around animatedly in my servo, they seemed interested in her, however this was not the impression I think she'd want to give.
"Return to base." I told them.
They complied by flying off in the direction of the MECH base without hesitation. I transformed placing the somewhat delirious Sloane into my cabin and began to drive back as well.
"I rode a dragon, Shockwave. A giant robotic transforming alien dragon." She laughed tiredly.
"I am aware Sloane, however you are not, you require rest from the excitement of today's events."
And this time, she didn't give me any fight.
(Sloane's pov)
I slowly woke up with a bit of a headache.
"What the heck chemicals did you all pump me with." I groaned irritatedly before even opening my eyes.
When I did I realized my irritation was unfounded.
I sat in Shockwave's cabin lying in his main control chair.
"I'm back!" I cried in excitement.
"Indeed you are." Shockwave answered me.
A hatch opened above me in the back of the ceiling. I got up and I climbed out onto the top of the odd vehicle's rear.
Then Shockwave transformed, I noticed the part I'd just climbed out of formed the elbow on his gun arm. Which made an interesting way of entering and exiting the vehicle through the rear of the gun.
Shockwave then walked over to the garage door and stood waiting for me.
I rushed to follow him, although that was at a slightly slower pace due to my sprained ankle slowing me down.
"Have some mercy will ya?" I asked.
"Mercy for what?" he asked.
"My crippled ankle." I replied jokingly gesturing at my leg.
"Very well." he sighed as he leaned down to pick me up.
He then walked back to the garage door and activated it.
It slowly began to crank open starting from the bottom.
When it did I saw that there was a large white clothed table in the middle of the community with string lights spread out between the buildings. By the front gate was a large low wooden platform. Around the community were all the MECH agents eating food, drinking out of cups and just generally having a good time.
I just stared stunned at everything going on around the complex.
"What's all this for?" I laughed.
"The idea was actually yours, I carried it through, and soon MECH got onboard and even the Predacons." Shockwave answered.
"My idea?" I asked.
"Yes, just when we'd received you back you were a bit delirious due to a chemical imbalance in your brain, you suggested we make a party for the two Predacons first successful mission. I carried it further and included your safe return as a viable event to honor." he explained.
"Part of this is for me?" I asked beside myself.
"Would lying to you right now be in any way logical?" he asked by way of answer.
I laughed, "no, no it wouldn't."
He walked slowly into the center of the compound and set me down near the table absolutely coated in different foods.
On the wooden platform I saw the older woman dancing with a slow little jiggle from her time. The cats could be seen just wandering about the property and I even caught a glimpse of 01 standing in the corner simply observing the party. 02 was a bit more involved bouncing around in his giant dragon form in some strange style of dancing.
I noticed Shockwave seemed to mirror 01 more than 02, Shockwave didn't exactly participate in the festivities but he did talk with a few soldiers and he talked a lot with 01.
Once I'd had my fair share of food and drinks, and a bit of probably very horrible dancing I decided to go see what had Shockwave and 01 talking for almost the entire time.
"On this planet you must remain hidden from many of its inhabitants, they do not take well to that which they do not understand." I heard Shockwave explain.
01 noticed and pointed at me in a question.
"Some are aware of our existence, and as such can be trusted to maintain their composure in our presence. However, those of such willpower are few and far between." Shockwave answered the unspoken question.
01 then pointed at a small mark on the end of Shockwave's gun.
"Ah… yes… that… the Decepticons are dangerous, if encountered I encourage you to fight back with brutal determination, take any words they say skeptically and always be on your guard."
He seemed a little thoughtful when 01 brought up the mark on his gun.
"What about the Autobots?" I asked to hopefully redirect his attention.
"The Autobots are on the other side of the spectrum, most of what they claim can be trusted, however there are of course exceptions, if you are able, limit your interactions with them, they can be persuasive and have a knack for preserving their own lives, as well as that of others."
"So… being giant dragons… but robot ones… do they need to eat like a normal dragon, or would they have no need for food like a robot?" I asked Shockwave when we all lapsed into silence.
In my peripheral I saw 01 stare at me. He legitimately scared me, his face almost couldn't be made out in the shadow of his head, he almost looked like he wore a hood and the only noticeable feature of his face not cast in shadow was two piercing purple eyes. Eyes that never blinked
"Dragons do not exist, so regardless they would have no use for sustenance either, but to answer your ill thought out question they do not require food, like myself." Shockwave answered/corrected.
"So the three of you could run forever?" I realized.
"Not exactly, while we may not need to ingest food, we still need to take in energy." Shockwave answered.
"Wait, so are you basically starving right now, because I haven't seen you take in any kind of energy?" I exclaimed in concern.
"No, we utilize energy at different rates. I've also prolonged my own energy by turning off many of my systems, however I am running lower than I'd like." he admitted.
"Shouldn't we do something about that then?" I asked him as if he were a child even though the opposite was probably closer to being true.
"We will, soon." he assured me.
I turned and looked back at 01 who was still staring at me.
I shuddered before realizing something.
"We really need to give them names." I muttered.
"Designations, but I do agree." Shockwave answered.
01 just looked between the two of us silently.
"I believe you're worthy enough of the task." a dark echoey voice intoned.
Both me and Shockwave looked at each other, then at 01.
"You can speak!" I exclaimed.
"Of course he can, he's the same species as Predaking, only this specimen seemed to have adapted far faster." Shockwave answered in mild surprise himself.
"Can 02 talk as well?" I asked.
"It is possible…" Shockwave mused before walking off to see.
Which left me alone with 01.
I looked up to see him watching Shockwave walk away.
Then his gaze jumped to me almost instantly.
"So… any requests for your name?" I asked with a shaky voice.
"Or… or your designation." I corrected myself.
He just looked at me for a moment before turning and walking away.
Sloan's record #2
Shockwave explained what it was that made the two predacons nearly invulnerable, he had me guess first of course… which was… difficult.
After only like 3 "substandard" guesses he gave in and just told me.
01 was coated in obsidian, giving him the sharpest blades in existence (Shockwave claimed he could make sharper ones with better technology, in other words his kind's technology.)
He then explained that unlike 01, 02 was coated in an alloy of silver and gold, something he called Electrum.(1) When combined properly it became a near invincible coating and instead of simply coating 02 in it he directly infused him with it. Both made them nearly indestructible and either had insanely sharp edges or absorbed and stored both kinetic and electrostatic energy… in other words the two most commonly used energy in battle. 'These two really are the peak of combative capabilities' he explained, both capable of flight, ranged attacks and are nearly impossible to harm, while making their own attacks count in return. Their only weakness would be their connections with those not as powerful as they.
(1) Electrum is both a real alloy in real life (of course without the above properties) made of gold and silver. it is also a substance in the original G1 series that rendered cybertronians coated in the substance invulnerable, leading to one of the few episodes centered around Beachcomber, yet again really destroying physics with how much volume Omega Supreme would actually take up, as well as finally giving a believable reason for one of the many times when Starscream shows no fear of Megatron.
