Third Person POV

"But why mommy, almost everyone is here, only uncle Ouranos is missing. I can just open my presents now and he can give me his present later" came the whining voice of Percy.

"You know why Percy, it's not nice and do you think you'd like it if it happened to you" replied Khione. Percy thought about it for a minute before nodding no. Khione smiled and gently picked Percy up again. She said, "Now come on, you can play with Momos while you wait for your uncle, I'm sure he'll appreciate it". As she finished, Khione and Percy had arrived at the living room where all of his family were and he quickly nodded before his mother gently put him on the ground. He immediately ran away towards where a black-haired boy around his age was. It didn't take long before they were running around the room and doing what children do. Momos as the god of ridicule and scorn was always playing pranks, which seemed to attract the attention of Percy, who always watched him on his sprees. It didn't take Momos long to develop a liking for Percy and soon enough, to feel more relatable to Percy as a brother, he changed his form to always be that to a similar age of Percy.

Khione couldn't help but smile at this sight. She couldn't visit her son often, and moments like this were what made all these sacrifices worth it. Seeing her son happy and living a normal life like most children would make her feel happy, but she knew it wouldn't last long. Almost everyone agreed that Percy should train, but the exact age from which his training would start could not be agreed on. Some wanted him to start it at the age of 8 or 9 where he would be able to experience a largely normal childhood, while some wanted him to start at the age of 6 so he could protect himself earlier. However, it was Chronos who stated that it would appease everyone more or less if he started training at the age of 7, and almost everyone agreed. Of course, the main people who rejected this idea were his parents, Erebus, Khione and Nyx, with Gaia agreeing with them, but the majority won, and a training plan was decided. Percy was currently celebrating his fifth birthday, this just gave Khione 2 years to enjoy a normal Percy, one who would always run to her when she visited, the Percy who when she was present would snuggle himself to Khione when scared. She couldn't deny that she would miss it, but she understood that it would be part of his development as a mortal. Khione sighed as she thought about what it would be like with a Percy who wasn't as scared as he was now. Nyx saw Khione sigh and understood why.

She slowly made her way to Khione who was soo focused on her thought's she didn't notice her arrival. She gently shook her shoulder, snapping Khione out of her thoughts before whispering, "Don't worry, children have to grow up, but that doesn't mean they forget their parents. He may not be the same Percy now, but he will always be your son, and besides, it's his birthday, you should be there with him having fun, not drowning yourself with all these thoughts". Just as Nyx was about to continue, Percy gently tugged the white dress his mother was wearing and said, "Mommy, I'm hungry". Khione immediately smiled and pushed her thoughts out of her mind and she grabbed Percy and lifted him. She decided that it would be better to enjoy the moments she had now rather than sulk about what would happen to him in the future,

"Come on then, I brought some of those blackberry pancakes you love, and your uncles and siblings are almost going to finish them"

Percy replied, "NOOO, not the pancakes mummy. We have to fight them off mummy". Khione couldn't help but giggle at this, but she replied, "Come on then my little knight, we're going to fight them off and you're going to enjoy all the pancakes you want". Percy beamed a smile that just lights up the room, and he nodded before yelling, "CHAAAAARGE!". Everyone stared at the mother and son duo as they fought off the pancake pursuers before Percy rejoiced by eating the pancakes left. Well, almost all the pancakes, after eating 3 of the remaining 6, he gave up from his quest of consuming the delicious delight that was his mother's pancakes. However, during his quest, Percy didn't notice the newest occupant of the room, not until he looked up to find his uncle laughing at him.

He quickly ran into the waiting arms of Ouranos while Yelling, "Uncle, you're finally here, I can finally open the presents". Ouranos couldn't help but smile at the predictability of his nephew. After gently dropping his nephew on the floor, everyone gathered around him in a circle, with him in the middle. The first to give a present were Aether and Hemera surprisingly. They had both decided to work together this time, which was a major to shock to everyone but Percy, who was too impatient about his present to care. As soon as the present landed in his hand, the wrapping paper was ripped to shreds and a small box became visible. Percy didn't wait long and quickly opened it and found a beautiful golden ring inside. It had beautiful carvings along the base with an incredible gem in the middle. It almost seemed to radiate light, which given who it came from wouldn't be surprising. The ring was slightly too big for his finger, but after Aether and Hemera told him to try it on, as he put it on, he found it shrunk to perfectly fit his finger. Hemera explained that it had a magical charm placed on it to always perfectly fit the wearer, but she had left out its hidden form, not wanting her 5-year-old brother to start playing daggers.

The next person was Ananke who gave him sunglasses. It was designed to be able to predict what a person was likely to do in the near future, like a prank, but was relatively harmless. It also had a charm placed on it which allowed it to grow over time suiting the wearer. Chronos was next, and he gave him a golden black watch which was also magically charmed and was able to always tell the time, no matter where he was and would never be too small or large for him. Momos didn't give Percy a physical present, but he let Percy in on his latest planned pranks and told Percy he would let Percy participate in them. As hurtful and surprising as it was for the others, this made him happier than all the presents he had received. Momos just couldn't help but laugh at the astounded looks on the faces of Hemera, Aether, Chronos and Ananke. Next was Gaia who gave him a ticket to an amusement park where she said that she would take him with her so they could enjoy a day together. Pontus and Thalassa who had grown close to Percy in the last year had come and had given him a bracelet with some wave carvings upon it. Just as he was about to open his last present, one that had the combined effort of Khione, Nyx, Erebus and Ouranos, there was a knock on the door. Nyx quickly went to open it and gave a small gasp as she looked at the person at the door, but it quickly turned into a smile.

Everyone in the room but Percy smiled as they realised who had come and Percy waited patiently. As Nyx moved to the side, a woman with wavy black hair came into view. She had a pale complexion but had eyes like the galaxies themselves. It didn't take long for Percy to run into the woman while yelling "Grandma Chaos, you came". The woman now identified as Chaos smiled as she heard this and she replied, "Of course I did, I can't miss your 5th birthday now can I."

Everyone in the room smiled as they stared at this sight, before Chaos said, "Come on now, I've got presents for a very lucky bow, and I want to make sure he gets them". Percy couldn't help but jump up and down at this and he quickly ran back and sat down. The present he received from his parents and his uncle was the largest of all of the others. It was clearly a box, but what was in it was unclear. Percy gently opened his present carefully before finding a sleeping baby phoenix in the box. Unlike a normal phoenix which was red, this one was mostly blue and black. It had two large glinting orbs which he was told were pure black with light blue streaks on its wings. Percy couldn't help but get giddy at the sight, and he looked at his parents with a large smile on his face. He gently carried the phoenix in his hand before he started flying it like a child would a paper aeroplane. After his 5th circle, Khione said, "Percy, since he is going to be your pet, we thought it would be nice if you got to name him". Percy couldn't help but get overexcited as this was said and he began running with his phoenix even faster. However, in his head, he was thinking of possible names for his phoenix. He wanted a name that was cool and dope but wasn't unrelated to his phoenix. After he came up with a name, he stopped running and said, "I'm gonna name you Inferno, it's a cool ass name and sounds dope as hell". As he said this, the eyes of the phoenix opened up and he finally got to see its eyes. Within a few seconds, he heard a voice in his head say That name sounds fitting and I will cherish it for a long time. He looked around, trying to find the source of the voice before his eyes settled on Inferno.

Percy quietly asked, "Was it you? the voice in my head". The phoenix nodded, and Percy couldn't help but smile before running around with Inferno. Soon enough though, he was stopped by the voice of Chaos who said, "Now now Percy, you haven't even gotten to see my presents yet". As soon as the sentence escaped her mouth, Percy was at the feet of Chaos looking at her with what looked like puppy dog eyes. Chaos couldn't look away, and within seconds broke down and said, "Fine, you can open them". Percy ran towards the two remaining presents with Inferno on his shoulder. He opened the first box and found a silver necklace with a black raven and he quickly put it on and found it fit him perfectly. The next present was shaped in a rectangle box almost 2/3 his size. He opened it to find a metal sheath with a katana in it. Everyone in the room but Percy stared at Chaos as they saw the weapon on the table. Chaos was unsure as to what the problem was, well, that was until his daughter Nyx mentally told him. He mentally told her it was fine, before telling Percy, "Now Percy, I've just been informed that you are too young to actually use the katana, so until you're 8, your mother is going to keep it somewhere safe, so you don't hurt yourself". Percy immediately deflated at this but nodded, understanding the reason why. Instead of letting this ruin the party, Nyx said, "Now, who wants to have some cake?", and immediately, the party sprung back to life.
