Yang awoke few hours later, feeling rested. The dreams were nice, full of her playing around as much as she wanted.
She didn't think she slept long enough for dad to come back from work, so it's probably still just her, uncle, and her sister.
Then again, she had no idea how long she had been walking in search of that old house.
She got up from the bed, and went to look for her uncle, before stopping as she felt her body ache in pain. She realized now that falling asleep in her armor was probably not smart.
She focused as hard as she could on the desire to have some minions come to her and help her out of her armor just as they had originally helped her put it on.
She felt something in her mind, no more than three minds responding with obedience, and somehow she knew that the minions were coming as she had asked.
Indeed, few minutes later, the minions entered through the door she had left open when she went to take her nap.
One of the Minions, Yang really needed to learn their names, spoke to her aloud.
"What Overlord want?"
And so she told them. In no more than a few moments, they had removed the armor from her entirely. She was shocked at how fast it was. They were really good at this.
"Did you guys see my Uncle on the way here?", Yang hopefully asked.
They shook their heads.
She would have to find him herself then. If she finds her uncle, her sister will probably be with him.
She decided she was gonna see what her sister is doing. If she was in her sleepy-mode, she's gonna go see how the rest of the Minions are doing. If not, well, she always had time to play with her sister!
So, she went to look for them, and she did find her sister wide awake.
"Perfect", Yang thought happily, "she could spend some time with her sister!"
When Ruby noticed Yang, her eyes lit up, and she happily exclaimed, "Yang!"
Yang rushed over to her sister.
"How are you, sis? Had a nice sleep?"
"Uh huh!"
Ruby then noticed the three Minions closely following Yang, and made a cute displeased face.
"What them?", Ruby asked pointing at the Minions, "No like, look mean!"
Yang quickly told them to return to the castle, not wanting them to scare her little sister.
"They are called Minions. But don't worry about that! Let's play!"
"Yay! Play time! Like play time!"
And so they played, under the watchful eye of their Uncle Qrow, and in no time at all, it was time for their father to return home from work.
Tired from work he doesn't exactly give much attention to the kids, or Qrow, until Qrow pulls him away to "talk about something very important that recently happened".
Seeing her sister asleep from playing too much, Yang carried her to her bed, and after realizing she was bored, she decided to sneak off back to her castle. It didn't take long to get there, and once she did, she could hardly believe it was the same place. In a very short time the Minions have cleared out all the ruble that prevented access to the rest of the castle or it's floors, and it looked like they were making significant progress.
Looking around she could find Gnarl, so she sat down on her throne to wait, while she used her Overlord powers to telepathically ask Gnarl to come over. Five minutes later, and he arrived.
"Sorry, Sire, I was underseeing the restoration efforts in your majesty's bed chambers upstairs as well as the few guest rooms we have.", Gnarl explained. He looked at her and continued. "Is something bothering you, Lord? I was not expecting you so soon".
"I'm bored!", Yang childishly declared.
Gnarl chuckled.
"I see, Sire. In that case may I interest you in a story?"
"I like stories! Tell me!", Yang demanded.
"Very well. It's a story about all different kinds of Minions you had yet to meet…", Yang attention seems caught by this statement, "and the lost artifacts –that means items, Sire- of the previous Overlords".
Yang eagerly listened.
"The Minions you see now, all around you, are Brown Minions. But a good Overlord does not only have one kind of Minions. There are actually four kinds of Minions. Brown ones who are toughest of all the Minions. They're never ones to shy away from a fight. In fact, it's quite difficult to get them to stop! Such is their dedication to the fight that Browns can also use many different objects as weapons. Red ones who aren't particularly hardy, so they can't take many hits. But use them in a group, and that's a different story — a story full of flames and burning and screaming! That's because Reds can use and manipulate fire. Greens who are good at sneaking up on things. Use them to guard an area, and they're practically invisible. And, lastly, the Blues. Their healing and magical skills can be most useful. They can resurrect fallen Minions during battle, but Blues are quite fragile, so position them carefully.", Gnarl explained, "A good Overlord knows how to use them all, and how to use them well."
"But if there are all these Minions, why do I only see the Browns?", Yang asked, confused.
"A good question, sire, with a sad answer. When an Overlord dies, the tribes slip up each going their own way. Reds like fiery places, and so they go to look for the hottest places to live in. Green's like jungles, forests, and plants, so they tend to look for those. Blue ones like water, so they usually look for a cave near water. Brown's aren't terribly picky, and usually don't go away at all. While away each tribe looks for a suitable Overlord on their own, although we Browns can proudly say that we found more Overlords than any other tribe. You'll have to find the lost tribes, sire, and their Minions hives. That's one of the ways to make other Minions, aside for birth"
"How do I make more Minions, then?", Yang inquired.
"Harblet, one of the Minions that had rescued you, told me that they gave you brown orbs of energy, correct?"
Yang nodded.
"That is called a life force, Sire. It's the Spark of Life that exists within all living creatures, even the Dark Creatures of Grimm. Not all of them are big or healthy enough to produce amount necessary to make an orb, but the one's that do create it on their death. Only the Overlord and his or hers Minions can interact with it with ease, although some talented Wizards have been known to be able to do it too. Everyone who is magically included should be able to see it, however. Touch the Life Force and it will get absorbed into you. The Life Force is how you make Minions from the Hive, Sire. There are four types of Life Force. Brown, Red, Green, and Blue. Brown can be found in most creatures of Remnant. Red can be found only in creatures of fire. Green can be found in most creatures of Nature, like the ones you would find in a forest, for example. Blue can be found in creatures of water, or in beings very magically inclined. You can use the color of the Life Force to create a Minion of the same color", Gnarl explained.
Yang nodded in understanding.
"Regarding the lost artifacts, Sire, there are many for you to find, each one making you that much better. Some increase your ability to take damage, others the ability to cast spells. Some other artifacts increase your ability to command Minions by strengthening your willpower, other teach you spells", Gnarl listed on, before being interrupted by an excited shout.
"I will find them!"
"Sire?"
"All of them! I'll find them, and it'll be the best adventure ever!"
