And, there you go. Hope you guys are still enjoying. Hope you enjoyed the video montage style. I felt like doing something different, and I think I did it well.

Guest 2: I'm glad! I know that the kids sent out a distress beacon in the show, but with Darius being different in this story as opposed to the show, I don't think that he would have a lot of hope. I think that anyone who has dealt with a lot of bad crap in their lives, when one more thing goes wrong, you don't have a whole lot of hope, you just go into survival mode. It doesn't mean that he has no hope, he said that he thinks Dave and Roxie got away and are trying to help them, but if he was twelve in this fanfic like he was in the show, the first thing he would have tried would be to call for help. And frankly, I don't know how to close the plot hole with the distress beacon. Also, nice detail about Mitch being Rexy's first human meal since 1993. Gross, but interesting.

Guest 1: I may or may not try doing Ben and Yaz or Kenji and Yaz. Maybe Ben and Sammy too, but I'm not sure at the moment.

Have a good day, stay home, and stay safe.

Another week went by, and Darius would be lying if he said that he didn't love the sunrise the Island had. It reminded him of Montana and his brother. God, he wanted to go home. Hug his brother tight, and get back to the way that life was. Of course, the only way for life to go back to normal would mean his Mom would need to be alive.

He looked at the watch, and saw that it was almost six. He got up, and woke up the others. Yaz and he were the only ones that could be considered alive at six in the morning. Even though the others were slowly getting used to it, they still had a hard time.

The kids had finally found a shower solution. As the others were eating breakfast, Kenji took a shower. He took his showers first because he takes the longest. Everyone heard him complaining about the water being cold, and rolled their eyes. Darius finished his breakfast, and headed to the guy's side of the base to get a different shirt. His current one was starting to smell. He noticed that he was about to put on his last shirt. He would do his laundry as Kenji and Sammy were doing their scouting.

Everyone hears Kenji's voice say, "No more water. A little help?" Kenji holds out the water container for someone to take.

Darius comes back and grabs the jug. "I got you Kenj."

Yasmina looks at him. "If you keep doing it for him, he will never learn how to do it himself."

"It gives me something to do." Darius says with a shrug.

"Like YOU need more on your plate." Yaz says with a shake of her head.

Darius makes his way down to the river, and what he sees shocks him. "Guys, come quick!" Brooklynn, Sammy, Kenji and Yasmina see what Darius is talking about. "The river is gone." Darius tells them.

"Where did the water go?" Sammy asks.

Yaz is quick to place blame and point at Kenji. "Why don't we ask Mr. Forty-Five-Minute-Shower here?"

The accused teen defends himself. "Hey, looking good is part of my brand. It's not that easy. And no WAY I drained a RIVER."

As the other teens start arguing over who's fault it is, Brooklynn jumped into the river, and starts looking around. She doesn't know what she expects to find. She makes it to the other side, and starts to hear a hum. She quickly shushes the others. They quickly get quiet, but Brooklynn can't hear the hum anymore.

Everyone looks at her, waiting for an explanation. "I hear the hum again." They all groan. They have been hearing about it for weeks now. Every day, she says she hears the hum, and tries to find it, but to no luck. Not listening to the others groaning, she says, "The river must have been drowning out the sound. If I follow the hum, it can lead me-"

"To the frozen patch of flowers." the other teens finish her sentence.

"Oh. I've already told you about that, haven't I?" Brooklynn asks with a sheepish smile.

Kenji shows his frustration. "You mean the frozen patch of flowers you saw once and never found again? Yeah, you might have mentioned it about a hundred times!"

Brooklynn gets irritated back at him. "Um, I'm sorry for wanting to get to the bottom of all this weirdness. I came here to un-"

"Unbox Jurassic World, and that's what I'm going to do." the others interrupt her again.

"I guess I've said that before too." Brooklynn sheepishly smiles again.

Sammy joins Brooklynn on the other side. "Well. I'm going to investigate with Brooklynn. It would be nice to have an adventure for a fun reason, and not a 'facing iminent death' reason."

Yasmina follows Sammy over. "And I've been cooped up for far too long at the camp. I'll go with Sammy."

Darius turns to Kenji who was still with him. "Guess that leaves us to fix the water problem."

Kenji looks at him. "What?"

"You want to keep up your shower habits right?" Darius asks him. "Not to mention, survive? Then we go find the water."

Kenji sighs. "Fine. You are going to need me anyways, especially since I know this park like-"

"Like the back of my VIP hand." Everyone interrupts Kenji this time.

"We have been spending WAY too much time together." Kenji says.

As the girls leave to find the hum, Darius tells him, "Grab a stick. We'll leave in a minute." The 2 grab their sticks from the room. Darius grabbed the notebook and pen he had in his hoodie pocket. He found it in the rubble and was just writing down the dinosaurs he and the others have seen. He was doing it for his mom. She wanted to be here so badly, so Darius was going to make her dream come true for her. The others knew about this as well.

Darius and Kenji were walking for a few hours. Kenji was moaning about walking through the jungle, and Darius was going to lose it. He doesn't snap, but he does let Kenji know he is irritated with him. "Why do you hate this place? I mean, we are living with DINOSAURS. This is basically our Jurassic World."

Kenji sighs. "I've been to this place like a gazillion times. If you've seen this place once, you've seen it all."

Darius looks at him with confusion. "You really don't think this place is cool?" Kenji doesn't answer him. Darius says, "Alright, well, I mean, other than the fact that we are living among dinosaurs, I don't know how to help you see this place is cool."

They walk in silence for a little bit until with Kenji taking the lead. Kenji suddenly shouts, "Darius! Get over here quick!" Darius races over as Kenji builds up the suspense. "It's... It's... A dead end?" Darius sees that the river they were following lead them a dead end. "You were right. This place IS the coolest."

Darius rolls his eyes at Kenji's sarcasm. "It's a waterfall, asshole. At least it's supposed to be." Darius took a minute to think. "Of course. It's a dam. We just have to get to the top."

"Yeah, good luck with that." Kenji tells him. "There is no way around this thing, and it's like, a forty foot climb."

Darius stretches his arms and legs. "Then I better get climbing." Darius looked back at the rock wall, and planned a path for himself to climb. "Head back to camp. I'll meet you in a few hours." The football player starts to climb, taking it slow at first, trying to find his footing.

Kenji scoffs, and starts leaving. He gets about 10 feet when he realizes he can't leave Darius alone. They had gone together, and he knew that Yaz would be on his case and NEVER live it down if Kenji was seen at camp without Darius. So with a sigh, he walks to the rock wall. He noticed that Darius was a few feet off the ground. With a grunt, Kenji begins his climb.

Darius looks down and sees Kenji. "I thought I told you to go back to camp."

"You know that Yaz will nag me to death if they make it back to camp and she sees that I am alone." Kenji says as he climbs. He wasn't the most athletic guy to begin with, so this was more of a challenge for him.

Kenji had gotten about 20 feet, and his arms were really hurting. Darius noticed that he couldn't here Kenji's grunts of effort. Looking back down, he says, "How you doing Kenj?"

"Oh, fine." he responds. "Just hanging around."

Finally, after a bunch of almost slips, falls, and breaks, the 2 make it to the last foot of rock. They reach over, and feel a sturdy enough rock to help get them over. With one last piece of effort, Darius and Kenji pull themselves over. They both just lay on the ground for a minute to catch their breath. Darius says to his partner, "That was fun."

Kenji sighs. "Yeah. Because who needs actual fun and enjoyment when you have that?" The rich teen points, and Darius turns his head to see a huge tree trunk blocking the river path.

"Well, at least know what the problem is. All we got to do now is move the tree, and we have out water back." Darius says between pants. He then playfully punches Kenji's arm. "Alright. Let's do this."

Darius gets up and hears Kenji groan some more. If Darius had to listen to him groan for another hour, we was going to give him a new reason to groan. They try for at least an hour. They tried to pick it up, and shove it. They even tried digging on one side. The tree was just too big.

They finally stop and sigh. Darius wasn't ready to give up though. And by dumb luck, 2 stegosauruses came into view. Darius watched as they started to fight. The two teens hid behind the trunk, but Darius watched closely. He wanted to remember as many details as he could for his book. Suddenly, one of the tails hit a rock, and sent it flying in their direction. The stone hits the tree with a loud thud, but the impact caused the tree to move, even if only slightly. This gave Darius an idea.

Getting up from behind the tree, Darius tries to get their attention by imitating their grunts and groans, but nothing worked. Kenji kept trying to pull Darius back behind cover, but Darius kept getting free. Finally, Darius got an even better idea. He wasn't sure if it would work, but it was the only idea left in his pocket.

Darius took his fingers and whistles in the direction of the Stegos. He got the attention of one of them. It set it's feet, looking like it was ready to charge. And charge she did. Kenji saw that it was coming their way, but Darius kept him from running. Darius stalled for just a little more, and when the Stegosaurs turns around, Darius shoves him and Kenji out of the way as the tail flung down on the wood.

The plan worked. The area that the tail hit the tree broke, causing the water to push the tree with the water, and down the waterfall. Darius and Kenji cheered. They finally got their water back.

ROAR!

The two teens turned around. "Oh yeah." Darius said as he remembered that they still had an agro dino attacking them. They start running as fast as they can. Kenji and Darius went into the woods, hoping that it would cause the Stego to slow down and get calm again.

It wasn't working. "Now what?!" Kenji asked.

"I don't know!" Darius shouted.

After a few more minutes, the Stego finally calmed down. For good measure, they ran for just a little bit longer. Finally, they stopped running, comfortable with the distance they put between them and the Stego.

The two teens look back at each other, and laugh the adrenalin off. However, their laughter was quickly replaced by silence. They felt a heavy set of thumps getting closer. They heard some trees breaking and see that a bigger dinosaur that looked like a meat eater walk towards them.

It stops in it's tracks when it sees the two teens. It looks at them, and snarls for a minute. Kenji was about to piss his pants because it was a meat eater RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. Darius though realized that it was thinking. Unlike Toro, the T-Rex and this one seem to have some sort of intelligence. THIS caused Darius to be scared.

The carnivore looked at them, and gave a snort before walking right past them. Kenji was still shaking, but Darius was more confused at this point. "Why would it not attack us? We were literally lunch handed to him on a silver platter."

"Who the hell cares?" Kenji says, finally controlling the fear. "We solved the water sitch, now we can get back to camp. Come on." Kenji tries to lead Darius in the opposite direction back to camp, but Darius again shoves his way out of Kenji's grip. "What the hell dude?"

Darius ignores him, and breaks the tree line that the meat eater just went through. And what he saw just might have been the most amazing thing on Earth. Aside from a certain girl. "Oh my God."

Kenji caught up to Darius, and saw that he was looking at a bunch of dinosaurs bunched up in a group. "What are you so interested in now?!"

"Dude, it's a watering hole." Darius said. Kenji finally saw that it wasn't just a bunch of dinosaurs. It was leaf eaters and meat eaters. "One time, Mom met Dr. Grant, and they both came up with the theory that under the right conditions, watering holes could become neutral grounds for predators and prey." Darius started running towards the dinosaur bunch. Kenji was about to try and grab Darius, but Darius turns around and motions for him to follow. "Come on Kenji, get your ass over here!"

Kenji sighs and slowly makes his way to Darius. As he got closer, his mind and body kept telling him to run. But he fought it because he trusted Darius. And he didn't want to cause a panic among the dinosaurs. Finally, Kenji was next to Darius again. But he noticed that they were right next to the dinosaur that they had just ran into.

Darius noticed that Kenji was scared. He put his hand on his shoulder, and says, "It's okay." Darius then takes both his hands, and takes a drink. Kenji soon does the same. They sat there for a few minutes and Darius suddenly heard sniffling. Darius looked at Kenji. "You alright man?" Darius doesn't tease. He has had those moments too.

"It's just so beautiful." Kenji says simply. And Darius couldn't agree more. It was so beautiful. After they had finished getting their water, the two teens make their way back to the trees. They sit there for a few more minutes. Finally, Kenji says, "Alright. You got me." Darius looks at him, confused as to what he means. "This is super cool." Kenji admits, not a drop of sarcasm in his voice.

Darius smiles, and takes out his notebook. He writes in it for a minute, and then closes it. "We should head back. The girls might be back already."

Kenji asks, "Why do you write in that notebook? You a bigger dino fan than you let on?"

Darius shakes his head. "Nah. I do it for my mom. She would have loved to have the chance to write about the dinosaurs and now THIS."

"Why don't you do it?" Kenji asks like it had an obvious answer. "Besides, I bet you could make the Doctor Dork super jealous that YOU saw it, and he DIDN'T."

Darius bites his cheek, and looks at his watch. It was noon. With this in mind, he asks, "Want to stay for another hour?"

Kenji laughs. "Why not?" He moves himself to get more comfortable. "This place even has a sweet resting tree."

With that, Darius gets back to writing. He watched the dinosaurs come and go, and at one point, he even saw the Queen Rex. He learned that this was her nickname because she was the original Rex from the first park.

Inevitably, the hour was up. And they still needed to have enough time to walk back to camp and NOT get caught in the dark. The two teens got up, and followed the river back to camp. This time, there was less complaining from Kenji. They walked a little slower though, because they were enjoying the sound of the water. Finally, they got back to camp, and saw that the girls weren't back yet. They still had some time to themselves.

Darius had a chance to do his laundry, so he was down in the laundry area that they had decided on. As he was working on his pants, he heard footsteps coming up behind him. He turned and saw that it was Kenji. "Hey. I know I was a pain in the ass today, but thank you. The watering hole was cool."

Darius smiles. "I was just as stubborn as you. At least we didn't get killed."

Kenji sighs. "Oh man. That was scary. It almost made me shit my pants." They both get a laugh out of it. "What do you think the girls are doing?"

"Well, Brooklynn seems to have conspiracy on the brain, so she may be snooping in other places she didn't get to when the park was open." Darius answers.

Kenji chuckles. "Yeah. I wonder if they are gossiping."

Darius looks at him. "What could they POSSIBLY be gossiping about? And I don't think Yaz is into the whole talk-about-people-behind-their-backs thing."

"Not the bad gossip, the GOOD gossip." Kenji sees that Darius isn't getting what he means. "Us." Kenji says out of frustration. "They are talking about US. How do you not get this?!"

"Why would they be talking about us?" Darius reasons. "We are the ONLY guys here."

Kenji shakes his head. "Yeah. The ONLY GUYS HERE."

Darius finishes up the last of his laundry and picks it up. "You need to get your priorities in order."

Kenji follows Kenji to the dryer area for the laundry. "I'm just saying. There is not ONE girl here that you are interested in?"

Darius starts hanging up his laundry. "No Kenji. I am NOT interested. This isn't Survivor meets Bachelor in Paradise."

"What about Brooklynn?" Kenji suddenly asks.

Darius stops for just a second, then looks at Kenji. "What about Brooklynn?"

"You guys seem to be spending more time together." Kenji points out.

Darius sighs. "Because we do the scouting together."

"Why not send me and Brooklynn together and you with Sammy?" Kenji says, thinking he's got Darius trapped.

"Because you and Sammy need the most mental stimulation." Darius looks back. "You guys like to talk which isn't bad. It just means that you need more human interaction. Me and Brooklynn like our alone time, so if we are scouting the area, we don't mind the silence."

Kenji says, "I'm calling your bullshit. You guys are almost always coming back to camp talking about something." Darius rolls his eyes, and heads back up the ladder, pretty much done with the conversation. "If you really didn't view Brooklynn as more than a friend, you wouldn't be so pressed about it." This causes Darius to stop climbing the ladder for just a second, but long enough for Kenji to know that he made a point. When they reach the top, Kenji continues. "It's not a bad thing. I like Brooklynn a bit too. But you're right. I am one of those guys. I admit that. So, you would be better to her than I would."

Darius sits down on the couch, and sighs. "Will you leave me alone?"

"Not until you admit that you at least think about Brooklynn. And I mean, more than me or Sammy or Yaz." Kenji says, with a small smile. "Of course, you can deny it, but if you deny it, you will essentially be telling me the truth."

Darius sighs. "Alright. Fine, I like Brooklynn." Kenji smiles. "As a friend."

Kenji's smile fades. "*sigh* Alright. Suit yourself. But just so you know, I know you like her MORE than a friend."

Darius watches as Kenji leaves. A few minutes later, Kenji comes back with some bottles. Alcoholic bottles. "Where did you get those?"

"Found them on Main Street when we were looking for food." Kenji explains. "Been saving them for later." Darius sighs again. "You look like you could use a drink."

Darius watches Kenji set down the bottles of Vodka and shot glasses. "Dude, it's not even five o'clock. Besides, we can't drink. We need to stay focused on surviving, which means we can't be impaired."

Kenii opens up the cork on one of the bottles. "Well, like the song says, 'it's five o'clock somewhere'." Kenji pours himself a shot.

Darius grabs Kenji's arm before he could put the glass to his lips. "At least wait until five our time."

Kenji groans and sets the bottle and glass down. "Fine."

Kenji waited and waited. Darius sat on the couch and kept his eye on Kenji. A few minutes later, they hear footsteps climbing the ladder. A head of pink hair appears. "Looks like you guys fixed sitch." Brooklynn said.

The others cheered. Darius asked, "Did you guys find the flowers?"

The girls looked at Darius. "Uhhh, no. But we did find THIS!" Brooklynn pulled out a... Key card.

Kenji sat down on the couch, and he and Darius looked at each other, then back at the girls. "Were you guys looking for that?" Darius asked again.

"Kind of!" Brooklynn cheered, and the other two cheered as well.

Kenji and Darius said, "Yeah. Woohoo. Good luck with... Whatever you're using that thing for."

Sammy suddenly says, "You know, we have been through a lot today, and if Ester Stone was here, she would say-"

"Life is hard, so any day that goes somewhat right deserves to be celebrated with a party." Kenji said. Darius and the others looked at him. He immediately sat down. "It's a great show, okay? The relationship between Ester and her dad is really moving."

"Okay." Sammy said. "Well, in the spirit of Ester Stone, lets..."

Kenji raced to grab five mugs, water, and poured the alcohol he found into the cups. "PARRRRRTY!" Kenji shouted as he raised his cup. Everyone else did so, but were slow to take a drink for the alcohol. Kenji however, didn't hesitate. Kenji suddenly made a face as he swallowed. "Wow. That's the good stuff. Talk about spared no expense."

Darius didn't know what he was doing. He knew it wasn't the best idea, but he thought, they had been through a lot. He takes a small sip, instead of a gulp like Kenji, who already looked a little tipsy. "Hoo. That's stronger than the Vodka sold at the ."

The girls imitated Darius and took a small sip . Once everyone did, Kenji took out what looked like a Walkman. "Check THIS out."

Kenji pressed play.

One, two, one two three
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah

The teens recognized the song instantly. Sammy and Brooklynn started dancing, with Kenji pouring himself another shot. Darius smiled as he watched the others have fun. Yazmina was still standing, and started nodding her head to the beat.

Never had much faith in love or miracles (Miracles)

Kenji had handed everyone some more Vodka, and the girls started drinking a little bit more. He looked at Darius, offering more, but Darius just waved him off.

You bring me to my knees
You make me testify

By the second verse, everyone else was dancing. Darius was watching them on the couch, just letting them enjoy the music. Brooklynn saw that he wasn't dancing, and motioned for him to get up. He shakes his head. He was feeling the effects of the alcohol. Kenji was basically gone and the others, he was going to assume didn't drink alcohol much, so if they drank anymore Vodka, he would need to be the one to stay awake. Or at least, wake up with the less painful hangover.

Brooklynn went over to the couch and pulled Darius up by his arms. Now he was up, and was pulled closer to the others. He decided to just do what Yaz was doing, and just nodding along to the beat. It was actually a while since he was at a dance. The last one he went to was when he was 15. It was during the Valentines Day dance at his school. It's not one of his better memories. The night was nice, but at the end... Darius just shoved his feelings down, and decided to enjoy it.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
Can I just stay here?
Spend the rest of my days here?

Darius reflected on those lyrics. Here he was, Brooklynn dancing with him, on an Island full of killer DINOSAURS. They could all get eaten or killed at any time. Yet, here he was, asking himself the exact same thing? Can he just stay in this moment? Must be the Vodka talking.

By the end of the song, Darius was laughing along with everyone else. He was making sure that he didn't have any more drinks, so he was being more careful than say Yasmina.

The Walkman went on to play track two.

California love

Darius smiled at this. "Well, whoever made this playlist has SOME good taste in music."

"It'ss Dave'ss playlist." Kenji said, slurring his words a little. "Found it in his bunk junk." He started to crack himself up. "Hehehe. Bunk Junk."

Darius shook his head, as he knew that in the morning, he wouldn't be able to function for a few hours.

After a mix of 90's Hip Hop and Rock party songs, the playlist started to change into a slow dance tune. This helped the party calm down. Kenji was passed out on the table. Darius looked at him. Ha. And he acts like the party animal. The only ones left awake were Brooklynn and he. This might have been her first time drinking, since she looked to be almost as drunk as Kenji, who had passed out maybe forty minutes ago. Darius looked at the watch, and noticed that it was about 7:00. Great party Kenji.

Darius started to turn off the lights around the base. He saw that Sammy and Yasmina were sleeping in there makeshift beds. Darius still couldn't help but chuckle seeing Kenji sprawled out on the table. "Guess once you slow it down, he can't go any longer." Brooklynn said, giggling.

Darius laughed at this as well. He grabbed the Walkman and turned down the volume. Darius made his way to the couch, and sat on the opposite side where Brooklynn was. Once he sat down though, Brooklynn scooted closer to him. Darius felt her put her head on his shoulder. "I can't believe that Kenji actually made us have a good time."

"When he cares about something, he can make it happen." Darius said with a nod.

You left me hanging from a thread we once swung from together

Darius felt Brooklynn snuggle closer. He looked at her. "You like this song?"

Brooklynn nodded. "My dad would play this song on his guitar while Paul sang." The two sat in silence, and looked up. They saw shooting stars again. The song played as they watched.

I'm sorry
I did not mean to hurt my little girl
It's beyond me
I cannot carry the weight of a heavy world

Darius remembered his Mom singing this to him at times. He started wondering if this meant something. He just brushed it off as Brooklynn started to hum/sing the first part of the second verse. He never heard her sing before, and she sounded nice.

Darius felt like the second part of the verse was his feelings for Brooklynn and how he was scared to tell Brooklynn his feelings because he was still dealing with his mom's death.

You make me think of someone wonderful, but I can't place her
I wake up every morning wishing one more time to face her

He really liked her. If Darius could just talk to his mom one more time, even if she started scolding him for the way he dealt with her death, he would be happy. He just wanted to talk to her about everything. About Brooklynn. He tried to think if his mom would approve of her. She wasn't so happy with the first girl Darius introduced. He found out why after his mom's death. She got frustrated with him a few weeks after, and wasn't very kind of his feelings. He was starting to get to know Brooklynn a little bit. And she was polar opposite of his first girlfriend. Darius hoped that his mom would have liked her.

Darius and Brooklynn finished humming the song, and looked down at each other. They both smiled, and locked gazes. The two teens moved their heads closer to each other. They closed their eyes, as their lips were just a centimeter apart. Darius could smell the alcohol in her breath, and he was sure she could smell it in his breath as well. Darius leaned in all the way and began to kiss... Brooklynn's cheek. He opened his eyes, and saw that her head had slumped down and faintly heard her start to snore. Darius sighed, and laid his head back down.

"Hehehehehehehaaaaaaa." Darius shot his head up and saw Kenji pointing his finger at him. "You got rejected. A near miss is still a miss. Hahaha."

Darius rolled his eyes, and sighed. "Kenji." Said boy turns his head to Darius. "You're drunk." Kenji nods. "This is a dream." "Okayyyyhehehe." "So you did NOT see me and Brooklynn almost kiss. Now, go back to sleep."

Kenji sighs and turns to get himself comfy on the table instead of his actual bed. "Even in my dreams, Darius is still an asshole."

Darius shakes his head, and keeps himself from laughing. He looked at the stars one last time, and made his wish once again. Darius sighs and goes to sleep. He hoped that the alcohol wouldn't put him in too deep a sleep.

And there is chapter ten. There you go. Hope you enjoyed. This isn't my best writing, so I'm very unhappy with how this turned out slightly. Anyways, hope you guys have a good day, and stay home, stay safe.
