Title: 逃げる手 - The Hand That Bleeds
Rating: T
Summary: "I don't want to be a Hero. I want to be a Healer. My Quirk is made for healing, like my mom's, not fighting so I train to fight like a Hero to be a Healer. I want to help others to the best of my abilities." Hisoka Matsushita, raised by her mother and who never knew her father, never could quite understand where the path she would eventually take would lead her to.

Now To Answer Some Reviews:
Jokes Are Us- Chapter 23: Hisoka knows things now that she didn't know before. She has experienced things that have changed her view of things and overall, even just a little, she's become just a little wiser in certain aspects in her life. It might not be a lot but she's different now. And perhaps my wording is unclear to you or your unable to see it, but I have done character development. Chapter 19: Indeed. Such an innocent story on the surface but once you dive down and see what it is underneath all then reality will blast you in the face, showing what the truth is. Chapter 18: Someone finally said it! I'm so happy! Chapter 17: I am so glad I was able to make them as ominous as I did. You don't know how difficult it is to do that with Stain! I mean, as you said before, he is rational even if he is a bit of a creeper. But he's the type of character I have the most difficulty writing for (at least in the beginning) and it makes me happy to hear that. Chapter 16: Hmmm... A mixture of both, maybe on the more 'creeper' side, if anything else with certain things (like his obsession with All Might, his motives, Haru...). So, if he had more influence over Hisoka I'm sure he'd be more on the of the Papa!Wolf type. Though he did get enough influence her in affect her later on in... interesting ways. Chapter 15: Yeah. Pretty much. You can blame Stain's influence on that. ^^ Chapter 4: Everyone has their own way of writing and things change over time. I've gotten better. Thank you for all of the reviews. I hope you like the chapter.
chaosrin- Hisoka is going to the dark side... Well, there are free cookies over there and maybe if there are free apples Fumikage will follow her. Lol. Don't worry, though, she's not as alone as she thinks she is. The people care for her in their own way, even if it is a tiny bit. Besides, what are they going to without her cooking? Ahaha... Hmm... You've given me some things about their relationship and what it's going to be in the future. To be honest, I've not given it much for some time now. And yes, Hisoka is finally on the path she was meant to be on. Thank you for the review. I hope you like the chapter.
GreyWolfe- That's good you believe because he did see something. What it was? Well, only he knows. Thank you for the review. I hope you like the chapter.
Chapter 58
To Ending Something
Location: Class 1-A, U.A. High School, Northern Musutafu, South of Tokyo, Honshu, Japan
Date: October 13, 20XX
As winter drew closer and fall soon to be over, the days grew shorter, the nights grew longer, and they had changed into their winter uniforms as the temperature difference became more drastic. The last of summer had finally thoroughly faded away. Hisoka honestly didn't mind the cold. It felt refreshing in a way, to be honest.
She liked feeling the cool breeze sometimes during midday when she was in her room and had her sliding glass door open. But they weren't in the dorms. They were in class.
If only she could enjoy it to its fullest extent. But something got in the way of that...
Math lessons...
Hisoka glared down at her textbook and her work before glancing up and scowling more at the equation Ectoplasm-sensei decided to put up.
Why did it have to be math?
"It's not the prettiest of math questions... but try to calculate the definite integral of this equation," the Pro Hero said as he turned towards the class. "Raise your hand if you know the answer."
Brown eyes glanced around, tiredness alight in them - if only she could get a full night's sleep now - as she saw her fellow classmates' reactions. Some were thinking things out like Jiro-san or Fumi, some were just staring off into space wishing to be anywhere than here like Kaminari-san, Ojiro-san, and Mineta-san. Bakugo-san was glaring at his paper, looking ready to explode it any second and Kirishima-san was...
What was he trying to do?
He looked to be... folding his paper into something?
Well, never mind.
The rest of her class was trying to work things out, just as she was, though some were putting in more effort than others. Midoriya-san was scribbling away in his notebook, head bent down with a hand on the back of his head. The noise of his pencil scratching came to a halt when he stood and raised his hand high in the air.
"Midoriya!" Ectoplasm-sensei called.
"It's 107/14," Midoriya-san called out with all the determination his voice could muster.
When Ectoplasm-sensei said he was incorrect, he held a defeated look, grabbing his notebook to see what he got wrong, as he called on, "Yaoyorozu!"
"The answer is 107/28," she answered.
Maybe she should get Momo to tutor her.
"Correct! Now, on to the next page..."
Hisoka half-listened for the rest of the lesson, staring blankly and absentmindedly copying whatever notes the teacher wrote on the smartboard - whatever she missed she could get it from Fumi or Tsuyu or even Momo. Her mind wandered to other places, pointedly ignoring certain thoughts that surfaced randomly. It honestly felt a bit strange being back in class normally after all that has happened.
There was no sports festival looming over them, inspiring them to become enemy number one with the other classes.
There were no deadlines for exams, wondering if they'd pass or not while battling it out with their teachers.
There were no internships that threatened their sanity or had them ending up in the hospital over and over again.
There was no training in remote areas or kidnappings of students or battling the League of Villains.
There was no... Well, she didn't want to think about either of them right now. There was enough on her plate right now.
She already had her Hero License...
There was no night where her dreams weren't haunted.
So, things were... normal... Relatively, anyway.
She didn't know how to feel about that. So, she did what she usually did and just went with it until something came up and she'd either take care of it all later as other things needed to be taken care of or... Well, that was really unknown. There wasn't any other option at the moment except to go with the flow until she was able to figure some things out - like what she really wanted to do...
Hisoka wished the lunch bell would ring- and there it went.
"Lunch!" Ectoplasm exclaimed, pressing a button to erase the smartboard automatically.
Gathering up her stuff and putting it away, she looked up to see Tsuyu and Fumi standing near the right side of her desk. "You ready for lunch?" Fumi asked, his arms crossed over his chest.
Hisoka pulled out two different colored bento boxes before shaking her head. "I've got to go talk with Recovery Girl about something, so we won't be able to eat together. Sorry." The elder woman had given her some time off due to... recent events... But after talking with Recovery Girl a few days ago, she had said she should be free today during lunch.
Tsuyu tilted her head. "Is it about your internship?"
Hisoka nodded. "Yeah. I'll see you later, kay?"
The trio parted ways with good-byes, Fumi and Tsuyu heading towards the cafeteria while Hisoka made her way towards the infirmary.

Hisoka knocked on the door, sliding it open when she heard Recovery Girl's voice on the other side, "Come in." She let out a breath, glad the other was in and that there wasn't a dire situation that needed her attention elsewhere. Hisoka might not get another chance like this. She needed to do this.
Such a fool.
She needed to change.
She needed to go forward. This wasn't the path she was meant to go down.
She didn't know what she wanted but she'd get there.
When did it even start?
She went in, shoulders back and head up, and stepped inside the room, sliding the door closed behind her with her free hand. Recovery Girl was by her desk, sitting in her tall office chair that squeaked lightly as she turned around. "Hello, Matsushita-chan. Take a seat," she offered to the rolling chair Hisoka had always frequented whenever she came. The elder lady pulled out a canister and two cups, filling them up with green tea as Hisoka sat.
Hisoka set down the bento she made for Recovery Girl beside her along with a pair of clean chopsticks. Receiving one of the cups, she nodded in thanks and took a sip. It was a little sweet but nutty as well that had a bittersweet aftertaste. They sat in comfortable silence, providing a bit of small talk here and there, as they ate. She was glad Recovery Girl liked the food (from the looks of it anyway). She'd ask after they were done. She'd go in with as much gusto as her gut can provide and charge forward to get the results she wanted.
But first, food.
Yes, fo-
"How are you doing?" Recovery Girl asked simply.
Hisoka paused, chopsticks with a bit of rice almost to her mouth, before she glanced up as she lowered her chopsticks. Never mind. The rest of her food can wait for a bit.
She knew why the other asked that. Why it was important for her to know.
Since she saw him on his deathbed.
When he took his last breath. When he said- No!
This wasn't the time for that.
"I've been... okay," Hisoka answered, shrugging a bit. Her appetite went down after that. She didn't like thinking about that - about him. He was there now, though. Just added to the others.
Just another on that long, long list.
With a prompt to explain more from Recovery Girl, she did as told. "I... understand that it's not my fault but I wish I could have done more... Maybe it could have made a difference if I had done more. However, with how my Quirk works... I could have been in a lot of danger if I gave too much." She knew that much. She's fainted too many times to know what her limit was. But still...
Things could have turned out differently, but they were as they were.
So, what made the world any different if she was gone if he could live?
Not. Now.
"I'm sure he knew that or at least guessed it. Maybe that's why he stopped me." Maybe that's why she's watched like a hawk at times.
Brown eyes looked at the elder Pro Heroine in the eyes, looking for any emotions - don'tpityherdon'tpityherdon'tpityher - but there was nothing but understanding. Of course, she knew. She was a healer just like Hisoka. She must have gone through whatever she was going through. What she was going to go through.
Maybe. Maybe not.
Taking a sigh, she looked down at her half-eaten bento box, unable to look the other in the eye. "Recovery Girl... I..." She needed to move on. To grow stronger. To be able to do what she could. To do more than she could now. Recovery Girl had done so much for her, taught her so much, but this wasn't the place for her. She knows she asked for this, but in the end, this wasn't for her...
Recovery Girl stared at her before taking a long sip of green tea, setting down the cup with a soft clink on her desk beside her. "I understand." Hisoka's head snapped up, blinking in a surprise as Recovery Girl let out a snort. She knew how to snort? "I've been where you're at right now. You know this isn't where you're meant to be. You tried it out, but you know better now. This isn't the place for you. But the real question is, child, what will you do now?"
"I'm not sure, to be honest..."
She placed a hand on Hisoka's shoulder. "You'll know eventually. You have the potential to be great. The future has numerous opportunities just waiting for you so jump ahead and grasp them. You never know when they may just pass you."
Brown eyes stared before a small smile appeared on her lips. "Yes."

Hisoka glanced down at the pager in her hand, her other carrying the now empty bento boxes. The halls were abuzz with other students, their chatter lapping in and out of one another creating some form of a messed up story for Hisoka to distinctly hear. As usual, her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.
So...
She doesn't have an internship anymore.
But she was still going to assist in the infirmary or help Recovery Girl out whenever she was needed. Well, she was the only one, from her knowledge, that had a healing Quirk like hers or Recovery Girl's. Well, maybe there was someone but she didn't hear anything about it so she could only assume.
But now...
Now she...
Well, she could figure that out in a bit. For now, she was going back to class and train hard and she-
"Matsushita," a voice called out to her. Looking behind her, Aizawa-sensei was standing, slouched over with his hands in his pockets like usual. His face showed how tired he was, more so than usual it seemed.
The hallways had died down, only a few students lingering as they made their way to class.
"Aizawa-sensei," Hisoka greeted him, walking to stand in front of him. Brown eyes stared into black, searching for something. Aizawa-sensei... He knew. He knew what she had been planning to do. He knew she'd do this. Why did she care what he'd say about this? "My internship has ended."
"I see."
"I'm going to work hard on what I've missed."
Black eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint appearing in them. "I won't be going easy on you."
"You never go easy on us," she pointed out, giving him an unimpressed look. He gave a shit-eating grin to which she scowled lightly. Aizawa-sensei... "You called my name, so I assume you need me to do something?"
"No," he answered. "Just to tell you your request has been approved for this Sunday."
What?
"Really?" A grin broke out on her face. "Thank you, sensei!" Without realizing it, she threw her arms around him and gave him a quick hug. "You don't know how much this means to me!" Pulling back, she thanked him again before she turned and ran to class. The bell was about to ring, after all.
Let it be said she'd never forget the shocked look sensei had when she left for years to come.

Midnight-sensei had just left, and it was time for their afternoon classes. The panels that held their Hero Outfits opened up; the class grabbed their cases for the afternoon heroic lessons.
"Hey, Mineta! Do you know what this is!?" Kaminari-san asked eagerly, holding up his phone towards the shortest member of Class 1-A.
"'R?' Like R-rated?" Mineta-san asked.
"Nah, it's for all ages!" Kaminari-san shook his head. "Mt. Lady and Edgeshot are forming a team! Kamui Woods is here too! Isn't this amazing?" Kaminari-san exclaimed passionately.
"Mt. Lady... you say!?" Mineta-san went as white as a shirt, beads of sweat rolling down his face.
Hisoka raised an eyebrow, faintly remembering him coming back from his internship with the female Pro Heroine quite frightened of women for about a week. He wouldn't go near any of them, jumping even when seeing a sliver of their shadows or their reflections.
She smirked to herself, finally able to grab her case. That had been a very fun week.
"That's the site 'Lurkers,' right? There have been rumors for a long time now," Jiro-san noted, leaning in to get a better view of what was on Kaminari-san's phone.
"There have been a lot of team ups here recently, huh..." Kirishima-san asked thoughtfully before pulling Bakugo-san into a conversation about how they should pair up in the future. As usual, the blonde-haired boy exploded at him on how he was going to work alone to become the 'Number 1 Pro Hero', mini explosions going off in one hand.
"Mt. Lady's hype is crazy!" Mineta-san shouted, walking along with the others.
"When we become Pro Heroes, let's form a team, too!" Ashido-san declared, holding her case with both hands as they headed for the door. "Uraraka! You'll make me float, okay? And I'll make it rain acid!" She cackled.
"Isn't that a bit harsh?" Uraraka-san asked, frowning.
"And I can get a boost from Sero's tape!"
"What are you talking about?" Sero-san raised an eyebrow, waiting in line to get his case.
"Shoji and Jiro will do reconnaissance! Team Rainy Day!"
"Wooo!" Jiro-san cheered lightly, pumping a fist in the air.
"And if anyone gets hurt badly enough, Hisoka-chan will just heal us up! She can provide a frontal assault and whoop their asses too!"
Hisoka looked towards the hyperactive girl with a tilt of her head, giving her a questioning look. The idea of teaming up with others, especially if they're people she knew and worked well enough with, didn't sound too bad. Her Quirk worked best that way or by providing first aid...
Wait...
Medic. Combat...
She might be onto something.
Before she connected it all, Fumi patted her shoulder, shaking her away from her thoughts, nodding in agreement as he passed her. "Fear the one who knows how to heal and hurt you just as easily."
Hisoka snorted as she saw some of the boys pale while some of her female classmates laughed good-naturedly.
"Hey! Hey! What about us?!" Kaminari-san and Mineta-san asked.
Ashido-san said without hesitation, "No thanks!"
"Teaming up is not just about your quirks. How compatible your personalities are is important, too," Momo explained, not really noticing how sad it got the two boys.
"Yaomomo, that's overkill," Hagakure-san sighed. She only received a confused look from Momo.
"Everyone, please get moving! Changing time is almost over!" Iida-san shouted, arm raised.
It was nice to see everyone so optimistic and looking forward to the future. Hisoka chatted with Fumi and Tsuyu after they had all changed and loaded up the bus to head towards Ground Gamma. (There had been a change of plans with the lesson they were originally going to have with Cementoss. It was changed to Monday. They were learning something new today.)
The three of them teaming up wouldn't be so bad. Having a three-formation team would be pretty cool with each of them providing support to one another. Each of their weaknesses were more or less covered by the other two. Hisoka could provide support and close range while Fumi and Tsuyu could do long-range attacks in case they were up against a group of Villains. It could also be the other way around with Hisoka's darts providing different opportunities while Fumi and Tsuyu got up close and did some real damage.
Maybe they could even open a Hero Office together in the far future.
It wasn't such a bad idea...
Location: Ground Gamma, Near U.A. High School, Northern Musutafu, South of Tokyo, Honshu, Japan

Ground Gamma was a large construction site that had many densely packed lanes and sharp corners that made it into a confusing labyrinth. They were all given a pair of capture tape and a communicator with a cryptic message from Aizawa-sensei to find the intruder who had snuck in, who was hiding somewhere amongst the labyrinth, and they were to bring them back to him. They were allowed to work alone or in teams up to three. They were also not given any clues other than the person wasn't a student.
This was teaching them something new?
Well, in a way it could be, or so she guessed.
Maybe it was to teach them to search for clues in order to find things or maybe it was for them to work together on limited information. Otherwise, this was just simply a mixture of hide and seek and chase. Hisoka thought of it that way, anyway.
Hisoka went the high road, climbing up one of the highest spots she could find - somewhere in the center of the construction site. Kneeling down, she perched and began looking around distractedly and distantly hearing the sounds of clangs and clanks of her classmates around her. The angered, explosive shouts from Bakugo-san didn't help. Glancing around, she saw Midoriya-san race around and there seemed to be steam rising somewhere in the south - most likely Ashido-san burning things with her acid - and ice shooting up somewhere in the north section - Shoto might have found them.
At least the soft breeze was nice and slow. It was very much welcomed as it brushed against her skin, sending chills all around her body.
"I wonder who Aizawa-sensei brought in..." This was just another ploy made by him like during the Quirk Test at the beginning of the school year or the time they were thrown over a cliff's edge when they had gone to train in the forest.
Now then...
Should she go along and try and find this mysterious intruder or should she just sit back, relax, and enjoy this breeze?
Author's Note: And another chapter is done! With a cliff hanger too! :p Lol. Yeah, I had nothing else going on at the moment after a lot of homework piling up (even when I get it back down over and over again) and I got a good grade on my exam, so this was a good treat to finish up. For both you and me.
I hope you like it so leave a review. ^^
There's also one chapter left of this Arc.
Drawing Time! It's a simple drawing this time around. Something nice and warm for this romance month. (Just remove the spaced and it should work.)
