HEYYYYYY, I broke 100,000 words! That doesn't just include the overall story, but also my little monologs at the beginning and ends, like THIS one.

I fixed it. Finally. I fixed the chapter. Hopefully you guys like it better.

Anyways, hope y'all have a good day, and stay home, stay safe.

The Raptor snarled at the three intruders. Kenji and Yaz flinched, but Darius stood still. "Darius." Kenji whispered. "Remind me how we got away last time?"

"Dave and Roxie saved us." Darius answered.

"Oh yeah." Kenji remembered. "What do we do now?"

Darius thought for a second. He quickly calculated how far away the Raptor was from them, and how far away they were from the door. It was a long shot, but if it worked... "Run." he told them.

Not needing to be told twice, Yaz and Kenji bolted, with Darius right behind them. They opened the door, and Darius looked around for anything to help barricade it. A large log was near them, so he quickly grabbed it, and shoved it between the door handles. Blue had already started to claw at the door, trying to open it on the other side. Thankfully, the log held.

The three teens bolted away. But Darius knew that a Raptor wouldn't give up so easily. "We won't outrun her on foot!"

Yaz looked around, and saw something that could help them. "The truck!" A Jurassic World truck. It was stuck between some rocks, but if they could get it started, they might make it.

Yasmina got in the driver's seat, and Kenji got in the passenger seat. Since Darius was behind them, he got in the back seat. "Start the engine!" he shouted. Yaz reached for the keys, but they weren't in the ignition. Kenji and Yasmina looked around for the keys in the front, and Darius looked around for Blue. But he found a tranq gun in the back. He figured if he could, he would use the tranq on Blue. He didn't want to kill her, since she reminded him of his mom. But if it came to it, he would shoot her with his Glock.

BAM! Blue had jumped into the back of the jeep, scaring the teens. The aggressive Raptor kept slamming her body against the Jeep from all sides, trying to break through. Finally, the attack stopped. Blue had disappeared. Darius was amazed and horrified at this new game of Hide and Seek. "Where did she go?" Yaz asked.

"Maybe she went to get her raptor friends?" Kenji suggested.

Darius told them, "We would have been goners before we even got out of the building if she still had a pack. She's alone." He honestly felt bad for her. Her sisters were dead. At least they had each other. She was TRULY alone.

BAM! Blue had jumped onto the hood of the jeep, and started walking on top, trying to crawl it's way in. Yasmina pushes the hand brake, and the three teens start to move. Blue jumped off of the Jeep, and ran after them. They were starting to pick up speed, but Blue wouldn't give up the pursuit. Yasmina steered the Jeep to get in front of Blue, hopefully able to throw the Raptor off, but she didn't calculate that the sudden shift in steering, especially going down hill, would cause the Jeep to flip over.

The Jeep rolled down the hill for a few seconds, but finally stopped after crashing into a rock. They were all upside down. They had put on their seatbelts, and were secure. "Where is she? Anybody have eyes on her?" Darius asked, and unbuckled himself. He landed on the ceiling with a thud.

Kenji and Yaz unbuckled themselves too. "We're fine, thank you for asking." Kenji said. A painful roar was heard outside. Getting out, they saw that Blue had gotten herself trapped under the hood and the rock. The weight of the hood made it impossible for her to escape.

Darius bent down next to her. She lunged her head at him, and he jumped back. Above the rocks, another pack of Compys looked down at the injured Raptor. "Let's get out of here." Kenji said. They started to run, but Darius stopped. He looked back, and saw that Blue was surrounded. Kenji saw that he had stopped running. He grabbed Darius's arm, and started pulling. "Dude, let's go."

"No, wait." Darius shoved his hand off. "They'll kill her."

Kenji couldn't care less. "Not our problem dude. The enemy of my enemy and all that."

"But she wasn't our enemy." Yasmina put her two cents in. "WE trespassed in HER home."

"Well, sorry for not realizing the Compys were also nesting in your place." Kenji said to the Raptor, but still tried to pull them away.

Darius tried to reason with him. "She's no doubt known about us being here since day one. And in that time, she's left us alone, when SO many times, she could have taken us out." He looked at the tranq gun he had grabbed. He opened it, and saw that there wasn't enough to tranq the Compys. Even his gun didn't have enough ammo to take them all out. "We have to hold the Compys back long enough for us to lift the hood off of her."

Yaz looked down, and saw a stick she could use. Kenji turned and ran away from the scene. Yaz scoffed. "Typical." she said, laced with venom.

Darius charged at the Compys and wacked one away with the tranq gun, and kicked another one. Yaz joined him. They were holding them back, but the Compys kept coming. And without Kenji to help lift the truck, they were going to end up getting eaten themselves. Just as more Compys were surrounding them, a couple of shiny objects flew and hit the rocks. The Compys chased after them. Darius and Yaz turned around and saw Kenji had grabbed a bunch of quarters, and he even got a couple of bags of twenty year old chips for his efforts.

They Compys were distracted long enough for the three teens to start lifting the hood off of Blue. She screeched as she struggled to get out, but she did. Everyone collapsed in exhaustion. But when they heard Blue snarl again, they were up on their feet.

Darius put his arms up. The animal hissed at him, and for whatever reason, he said, "Easy Blue." The animal shut it's snout, and looked at him with confusion. "Yeah, you like that nickname, don't you?"

"What are you doing?" Kenji asked. He was about to grab him, but Yaz held him back.

The Raptor seemed to respond to where is hand was. He moved slightly closer, and she moved towards him as well. She snarled a little bit as he moved, but he said, "Easy. You remember me, don't you? You've seen us in the jungle haven't you?" She still snarled, but wasn't looking at him. Darius glanced down, and saw that the tranq gun was in front of his foot. He kicked it out of the way, and started moving forward again. She moved towards him as well.

His hand was close enough to her snout, that he could feel her nostrils breathing on him, smelling him, and no doubt thinking. Darius closed his eyes and waited for Blue to decide if she was going to rip his hand off, or if she was going to just run off. He felt rough skin touch his hand. He opened his eyes, and saw that Blue had put her snout in the palm of his hand. Kenji and Yasmina were in shock. But they were too scared to do anything. Darius let out a soft chuckle. Blue chittered, and snorted. Without anything else, she started running back towards the Visitor's Center. She turned back one last time, looked at Darius, and let out a roar. After that, Blue disappeared.

Darius chuckled a little bit, and gave a few nervous laughs. He turned towards Kenji and Yasmina, and said, "Whooo! I thought I was gonna shit myself." They just stared at him. "What?" he asked.

Yasmina opened her mouth, but Kenji beat her to it. "You touched a fucking Velociraptor!"

Darius let out another laugh. "That was pretty dope."

"No!" Kenji yelled. Darius looked at him with confusion. "No, that was NOT dope!"

"Alright, calm down." Yaz said.

Kenji shoved her hand off his shoulder. "No! That was NOT cool! What if you had failed? What if you got eaten, and then she decided to finish US off for dinner?"

"She's smart Kenji." Darius defended himself. "She used to have a pack. She understands what it takes to take care of a group. And the pen from that night. Why would there be a catwalk over their pen? Why was it so excluded from the Park? It didn't look like it was an attraction."

Kenji shook his head. "It doesn't matter. We got her out. THAT'S when we should just run! Not wait around to be eaten!"

"Kenji, if she wanted to eat us, she would have killed Darius after we got her out." Yasmina said.

Darius told him, "I'll be more careful next time. It's just... Mom studied Raptors. I would listen to her almost every night about what she was learning. I guess I wanted to see if she was right." Darius turned back to where Blue had ran. "Turns out she was."

Kenji shook his head and sighed. "Well, what do we do now?"

"We need to get to Camp. Have to start packing." Darius said. "We also need to get Ben."

"Let's head to Ben first. Make sure that the boat is doing good." Yasmina said.

"I'll radio Brooklynn and Sammy. They've disappeared AGAIN." Darius said. He took out the walkie talkie. "Hey Brooklynn, do you copy? Over."

A few seconds went by. "Loud and clear Darius. What's going on? Over." Brooklynn answered.

"A Compy stole the compass, so me, Kenji and Yaz got it back." Darius said. "We're headed back to the boat, and then headed to Camp. Where are you guys? Over."

"Investigating a mystery. I'll have Sammy explain later. Over." Brooklynn responded.

Darius sighed. "I figured. Alright, well, are you guys going to be long? We still have to prepare to leave. Over."

There was a small pause until Brooklynn continued, "We don't exactly know when we will be back. But we will for SURE be back in time to help finish packing. Over"

The older teen shook his head with a small smirk. "Uh huh. Sure. Alright, well, enjoy the mystery. Stay safe. Over and out." With that, the call ended.

The four teens had made it back to camp. It was around 2 o'clock, and they were just finishing up lunch. Kenji had just finished telling Ben the story of how Darius had actually touched a Velociraptor. "Wow! That's pretty hardcore." Darius chuckled a little. "Of course, not as hardcore as me and Bumpers defeating Toro, buuuuuut..." Everyone groaned and laughed.

Darius playfully slapped his arm, and said, "You little shit." Once the laughter died down, Darius told them, "It was almost like she was remembering something. Maybe she had a human trainer, and what I was doing reminded her of it."

Ben said, "Well, whatever it was, it's definitely a truce of some sort. I've seen it happen between Bumpy and a few other dinosaurs, especially when it comes to territory."

"You're saying that she let me live on the condition that we never go near her home again?" Darius asked.

"I'm saying that you showed enough strength and compassion to her that she ultimately decided that there wasn't anything to fight about." Ben clarified. "You could have let her die at the teeth of the Compys, but you realized that YOU were in the wrong."

Darius nodded. "Well, at least I have a badass story to take home with me." After everyone was done, Darius got to work. "Alright guys, first things first, we have to pack. Start grabbing food, medical supplies, anything."

Once the medical supplies and almost all the food was packed, Darius was about to load them up to Bumpy. "Hey, Darius, Bumpy's been doing a lot the last few days. Could we maybe wait until tomorrow to start taking the stuff to the boat? It's also going to get dark soon. We want to stay in one place, right?"

"Good point Ben." Darius said. "We'll let Bumpy have her rest." He was going to head back up the ladder, but he suddenly remembered. "Kenji! Did you leave the motorcycle at the North-West dock?"

Kenji's voice was heard, "Yeah, I think so. Why?"

"I'm going to go grab it!" Darius told him. "Yaz! You're in charge while I'm gone!"

Darius quickly raced to the North West dock. It was a little after 3. If he ran, he might make it back in time. After a lot of running, he finally got to the dock. He looked for a few seconds, and spotted the green bike on the ground. He lifted it up on it's side, and checked to see if it was damaged, and if it had enough fuel. It did. Darius wasn't going to pretend that he knew how to ride a motorcycle. But he had a few hours to learn.

Turning on the ignition, he got himself familiar with what everything did. If Kenji can do this, so can I. He started riding back to Camp. He picked up speed, and felt like it was similar to riding a bike. The faster you go, the more control you have, but if you go too fast, you're gonna need a doctor. He had gotten the hang of it after a little bit, and started to have fun. This is going to make taking everything to the boat SO much easier.

He had gotten back to camp about two hours later. Darius put the kickstand out, and set the bike to the side. Everyone who was at camp looked at him, and were impressed. "Nice! You were able to ride it!" Yasmina said.

"I figured if Kenji could do it, ANYbody could." Darius replied.

Kenji looked at him with mock offense. "Well, I will have you know that we had a bet going if you would be able to ride it or not. I was on the losing side."

A few hours later, the teens were in bed. Darius was up for the night watch, and finishing up packing the first trip they were going to take to the boat. He checked his Glock and his shotgun. He hasn't used the shotgun since he found it, but he supposed it was a good thing. A semi loud moan was heard from Bumpy, followed by someone shushing her. Looking down over the railing, Darius saw Ben and Bumpy. Ben was rubbing Bumpy, who looked like she was enjoying his company. The older teen climbed down the ladder, and walked towards Ben. "What're you doing up Ben?" Darius asked him.

Ben realized that Darius had heard. He wiped his eyes and then looked at the Camp leader. "Just spending some time with Bumpy. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for us, and she's going to be doing a lot of work. I'm just giving her a pep talk."

Darius noticed a couple of tears on Ben's face. "Are you okay?" Ben didn't answer, but he nodded his head. But Darius saw through it. "If you're worried about her, don't. She's going to be okay."

"I don't know if I can leave her." Ben said, his voice wavering.

Darius didn't really know what to say. "You could bring her with us. We have a boat big enough for her."

Ben scoffed at the idea. "I can't do that. She's been spending so much time lately with the other Ankylosaurs. I know that she has to stay here. It's just hard for me to say goodbye."

Darius pulled the boy into a hug. Ben was confused for a second, but didn't try to pull away. He slowly put his arms around Darius. "I won't try to say I understand how it feels. You've been everything for Bumpy since she hatched. But I understand the feeling when you don't know if you'll be okay with a certain outcome."

"Like how your Mom died?" Ben asked.

"We weren't sure if she was going to pull through." Darius answered honestly. "There were just so many different outcomes that we didn't know which to prepare fore." Looking directly at Ben, he said, "But there is only one outcome with Bumpy. You're going to have to say goodbye." Ben hung his head in sadness again. "But, since Brooklynn and Sammy are most likely going to drag their feet getting back here, I'm not going to rush us getting everything to the boat. You'll have enough time to spend with Bumpy tomorrow."

Ben looked back up at Darius. "Thank you Darius."

The older teen ruffled Ben's hair, and lead him back towards the ladder. "Come on. Let's get to bed."

True to his word, Darius allowed everyone to take their time in getting the supplies to the boat. He and Kenji had taken the motorcycle and dropped off the medical supplies and a food container, and everyone was doing their own thing for a little bit, Darius checked on the time. It was around 11:15.

"I know we've got about 20 hours before the boat is all patched up, but if you ask me, I would call it good." Kenji said to Darius, who was packing another bag. "I REAAAAALLLY wanted to poke it, but I DIDN'T. Restraint yo." Darius didn't respond to Kenii being and idiot. He just kept looking at his brown field guide book. "You okay man?"

This time, Darius did respond. "Mom worked on Raptors, but her favorite was a Gallimimus. I was supposed to fill out a page or two for the book, but never got around to it."

"Well, just go NOW." Kenji suggested like it explained everything. Darius looked at him with confusion. "Brooklynn and Sammy aren't back from their mystery, Yaz is on a run, and Ben is probably with Bumpy being weird. "

Darius dismissed it. "Yeah, well, I've still got to pack food, water, bathroom supplies. Too much to do." the teen finished as he shook his head.

"I'll do it for you." Kenji said suddenly.

"Really?" Darius asked. "You?"

"Yeah man." Kenji told the older teen, trying to convince him. "Like I always say, 'the more to do, the more I got this.'"

Darius raised his eyebrow. "Never heard you say that in all the time we've been here." Looking down at the book in his hand, he says, "But if you're for SURE that you've got this..."

Kenji stood up, and started pushing him towards the ladder. "Go find your Galileo. I'm telling you dude, I've got this."

Darius smiled. "Thanks Kenji." He grabbed his Glock, checked if it had ammo, since you never knew WHAT was out there, and slid down the ladder. Looking back up at the rich teen, Darius yelled, "I'm on channel six in case of an emergency!"

"An emergency packing supplies?!" Kenji yelled back and laughed. "I've got this!"

"Congratulations! You're officially in charge!" Darius yelled back as he ran off.

After about an hour of searching, Darius finally found the heard. He looked down from the heard on top of a rock. He wrote what he could, did a small sketch, and looked back at them. One of the Gallimimus looked up and spotted him. He smiled at the Gallimimus, who was smaller than the others in her herd, watching him closely. Darius was about to go down there, but his side started to make noise.

skrrrrt "Darius? Darius, do you copy? Over" Kenji's voice came over the walkie talkie.

Darius sighed, and took out his walkie. "What is it Kenji? Over."

"I just want you to know that I've already done one thing, and it was fabulous! Over." Kenji's voice was scaring away the entire herd.

Darius slid down off the rock to chase after them. "Very happy to here that Kenji. Over."

"I swear, I'm going to do such an amazing job and do you proud. Over." Kenji kept going.

"Kenji, you know that you have to actually PACK the stuff, and not just SAY that you are going to do it in order to make me proud, right? Over." Darius countered. After a few seconds of silence, Kenji's voice finally replied.

"Ye-yeah. Yesss. Talk time is over. Ten-four. See you when you get back here. Over and out." Kenji's end clicked off. Darius sighed, and raced to find the herd again.

Finally, after a little more searching, he found them again. Looking out at them, he found the Gallo that had spotted him on the rock. He took a piece of the grass that she was eating, and started walking up to her. She spotted him again, and was a little cautious with him. That made sense. Kenji DID manage to scare her off. But when she saw that he had some of the grass she was eating, she moved closer to the human.

She eyed him up and down before the Gallo decided to accept the grass. Darius sighed, and let out a small laugh. He rubbed her neck with his free hand. "Hey. Good girl. Sorry for the late arrival. I've been busy. Having to step up and lead a bunch of teenagers takes a toll. God, I hope my brother and I weren't this difficult for Mom." His smile fell a little at the mention of his mother. "You were her favorite you know. I failed her before, but I'm glad I get the chance to make up for it." She finished the grass in his hand, and started to use her head to get more pets, kind of like a dog.

Darius chuckled at this. SQUEECK "Darius! D-Darius?" Kenji's voice came over the walkie talkie again, scaring the Gallo away. He was going to chase after her, but he fought against it. That would only make her think that he was after her like a predator. "Darius, are you there?"

The teen sighed, took out his walkie talkie, and answered. "I'm here Kenji. What is it? Over."

Kenji answered, "Oh, nothing. Doing good. Couldn't be better really. How are you? Over."

Darius looked at the walkie with confusion. "Goooooooood. Over."

"Great!" Kenji said. "Listen, I've totally got this, but what would you do if a totally capable, but very scrawny dinosaur went missing? Over."

Darius was so confused now. "What? Have you been drinking again? Kenji, if packing is too much for you to handle, just let me know, and I can head back. Over."

"What? No. You don't need to come back. I've got everything under control, one hundred percent. Over." Kenji's voice said.

Darius was very skeptical. "Alright. So, we've established that I am going to stay here for another few hours, while YOU finish up packing the stuff. I'll be be back in a few hours to help you guys carry the rest of the supplies to the boat. I should let you go so you can do that. Over." He was getting REALLY tired of this back and forth.

"Absolutely. I've got everything on lock. Just one more thing though. Darius, you there? Darius? Dari-" Click! Darius got fed up with Kenji and his bullshit, and just turned off the walkie talkie.

He spent almost another good hour searching for the heard. A loud sound of panicking roars were heard on his left. The Gallo herd that he had been chasing were backing away from something. Thinking that it could be a predator, Darius took out his gun, and made sure that it was loaded. After looking for a few seconds, he noticed that they were roaring at a tree.

When he moved closer to inspect what was spooking them, Darius saw what looked like… quills? He was about to take one out of the tree when he heard a branch crack above his head. Darius jumped back out of the way as a huge dinosaur fell onto the ground. Looking closer, Darius saw that it wasn't just ANY dinosaur. It looked like that grey dinosaur that he and Kenji ran into all those weeks ago. When he saw the snout, Darius saw that it WAS the dinosaur that he and Kenji ran into. The teen looked around, and the Gallos were gone, but he could still here their yells of fear.

Darius got up off the ground, and started walking back to camp. He also took out his field guide book, and started looking through his notes. "What kind of dinosaur kills its prey and stashes it in a tree like a bird or a scorpion?" Darius thought out loud. "This isn't right. It's not natural."

That's when Darius notices that the Ankylo wasn't even touched. It just lay there dead. No blood, no stench. "She didn't eat it. It's killing for sport. This isn't natural."

"The Indominus isn't natural either." Yaz shoots. Darius nods his head. She made a good point.

The teen's eyes widened. Oh no. Oh God, please not ANOTHER one! SNAP! Darius turned his head in the direction of the snap. He reached behind his back to grab the gun. There was some rustling in the bushes in front of him. He raised his gun to fire at whatever would come out.

Brooklynn was the first thing to come out of the bush. She was running so fast that she ended up knocking over Darius when she ran into him. Darius was on the ground, confused by what just happened. He groaned at the impact his chest and back had received. He opened his eyes, and saw a bundle of pink on his chest. "Brooklynn?" He looked up, and saw Sammy helping her up. "What's wrong? Are you guys okay?" Brooklynn and Sammy started talking over each other fast and loud, making it impossible for Darius to understand ANYthing. "Whoa whoa whoa! Slow down!"

They calmed down enough to try again. Brooklynn went first. "We found Wu's lab. The one where he made the Indominus and... OTHER hybrid dinosaurs."

"There's another hybrid?" Darius asked, shocked. He was right, but that wasn't the answer he wanted.

Sammy continued, "He called the Indominus Rex a success. And this new one, he called it the Scorpius Rex, and it's a thousand times crazier."

"There's another hybrid." Darius muttered again. "We need to get off the Island." The three teens ran as fast as they could towards camp. "Ugh. I should have stayed and packed with Kenji." He took out his walkie talkie, and radioed ahead to Kenji. "Kenji, come in." No reply. "Kenji, do you copy?!"

shkrr. "Loud and clear Darius. What's up?"

"We need to get out of here, right now!" Darius said. "I'm with Brooklynn and Sammy. We're headed your way to help grab the supplies. There's another hybrid, worse than the Indominus, and it's about to go on a killing spree! Grab what supplies you can, and we will meet you at the boat."

"Um, yeah. About the supplies..." Kenji's voice said.

Darius realized that he never did the supplies. "Ugh, KENJI! I left you in charge, because you said you had everything handled. We need that stuff, so what's your plan asshole?"

"Um, uh, we could..." Kenji struggled to find words. Darius regretted putting him in charge. Finally, Kenji's confidence came through. "Yaz will run to the boat, and get it started. Ben and I will pack up the essentials. Darius, Brooklynn, Sammy, swing by camp, and help us carry the supplies."

No use staying mad, Darius thought. "Copy that. See you soon." He clicked off the radio, and the three teens kept running to camp.

"You left Kenji in charge?" Brooklynn asked. "Why?"

"He told me he could handle it." Darius answered her. "There's no reason to be mad now. He's got a plan, and against my better judgement, I trust him."

"You think he knows what he's doing?" Sammy asked.

"I wouldn't go THAT far." Darius admitted.

After a lot of running, the three teens finally see the blue fence surrounding their camp. When they got to the bottom of the ladder, Darius called out, "We're here! What can we do?"

"Here!" Ben yelled. The slide made a noise, and Darius grabbed the water container that they had collected. A few more bags were loaded onto Bumpy and the motorcycle they had.

"Alright, Ben, Kenji, Sammy, ride with Bumpy. I'll take Brooklynn on the motorcycle." Darius ordered. The five teens were about to go, but they saw Yasmina coming back.

"Yaz?" Kenji asked. "Why aren't you on the boat?"

"The storm is getting worse." she explained. "The surf is too intense to cast off, and the boat is taking on water. Only way to leave is when the seas calm down."

Sammy whimpered, and said, "So, we're stuck here? With the Scorpius on the loose?"

Kenji tried to keep the spirits up. "No prob. Escaping and hiding from killer dinos is kind of our specialty."

"No THIS killer dino." Brooklynn said.

"From what Sammy and Brooklynn told me, this dinosaur is pretty bad." Darius said. Everyone looked his direction. "I'm not going to try to give you guys a hopeful speech. We've been watching the dinosaurs and studying their movements since the first day we were stuck here. And because of their normal behavior, we've been lucky. But if the Scorpius is on a rampage, all bets are off. We have fifteen hours before the boat was supposed to be ready. We'll be lucky to see daylight if we survive this." Darius sighed, and sat down on the slide.

Kenji put his hand on his shoulder. "Don't beat yourself up. There wasn't anything you could have done."

Darius's head shot up, his eyes narrowed, and he shoved Kenji's arm off his shoulder. "YOU could have done the one thing YOU asked to do. THEN we could have made it on time."

Kenji defended himself. "Well, I'm sorry that I didn't anticipate the new Franken-Dino. My bad."

"You told me that you had everything handled. And like an idiot, I believed you." Darius told him. They were both getting in each other's faces.

"I DID. And then, Ben of The Jungle ran off, and I had to go looking for him!" Kenji pointed towards Ben.

Ben snapped. "I didn't ASK you to follow me. And besides, weather or not I was here, you could have packed more than your own bag and hair gel."

Darius turned his attention on Ben. "I don't care that you spent some time with Bumpy before we left. But YOU should have at least told Ben where you were going instead of just running off. I'm sorry that you have to leave Bumpy behind. But that's NO excuse to run off alone."

The oldest teen had started walking towards Ben, but Brooklynn got in front of Darius. "Okay, okay. We get it. We've all made mistakes today. Right now, we need to focus on a way to survive the Scorpius."

This helped Darius calm down, and get back into leader mode. "Alright. Let's shorten the perimeter fence. I'll prep the guns just in case." The teens started going to do their jobs.

"We could use some of the rubble to fortify the fence maybe." Kenji suggested, trying his best to be helpful now.

Darius was still frustrated at him, so all he could say was, "Yeah. Good idea." The teen climbed up the ladder, and grabbed the shotgun, and started loading as much as he could. He took out his Glock, and checked the ammo inside. It was fine for now. He searched for the bullets, and found the shotgun and Glock ammo. He put the shotgun bullets in his left pocket, and put a spare magazine for the Glock in his back pocket. After putting the Glock in the front of his pants, and leaving the shotgun against the wall, he slid down to help the others where he could.

Brooklynn and Ben were moving something, and she watched as Sammy and Yaz talked. She could hear some of what they were saying. "You're my best friend Yaz. And even if this is our last night, I'm glad that we got to know each other."

"You're my best friend too." Yaz said, her voice breaking slightly. "My first even." The two girls e,braced each other in a hug. Brooklynn sighed. You've spent all this time with him, and slowly, you realized that you liked him. No, not like, LOVE him. His selflessness, his passion, his empathy, his patience. This may be my last chance to tell him.

Brooklynn took a deep breath and followed Darius. She saw him looking through his back pack, probably looking for more ammo. She let out a small cough, causing him to turn around. "Hey, you good?" he asked her. She raised an eyebrow. "Riiiiight." he backtracked. "Potential last day alive, another killer dinosaur loose. Stupid question."

She took another deep breath started walking towards him, and said, "Look, there is a high chance that we don't make it out alive tonight, and before that happenes, there is something I want to tell you." Darius started walking towards her to meet her in the middle. "I love you Darius. I know that the timing sucks, but I realized it too late. If I had known sooner, I would have told you. I love you."

Darius looked her in the eyes. All sorts of emotions running inside. Joy, anger, depression. Everything in between. He watched as Brooklynn took her hands, grabbed him by the cheeks, and pulled him into a kiss.

For a brief moment, Darius allowed himself to act on the feelings he kept inside for so long. As Brooklynn held on tight to his neck and head, Darius wrapped his arms around her waist. But before he pulled her closer, he forced his feelings back down, and gently pulled away from her.

"No you don't." he said. She opened her eyes, and looked at him with confusion. "Brooklynn," Darius said, "you don't love me. This is just a spur of the moment thing, like the gyrosphere." She slowly started to shake her head. Before Brooklynn could get another word out, Darius quickly said, "And I don't love you. And even if I did, we wouldn't be able to make it work. We live very different lives." It broke his heart to say that to Beooklynn. He could barely meet her eyes as he said what he said. "I'm sorry, but I don't love you."

Brooklynn closed her eyes. She nodded when Darius stopped talking. The teen just whuspered, "I'm sorry." Then she walked off.

Darius closed his eyes and looked away to keep himself from breaking down. Once he opened his eyes again, he saw Yaz out of the corner of his eye. "You're just going to leave her like that?" she asked. "After everything you guys have been through?"

Darius shook his head. "Don't start with me Yaz. And like I said, I don't love her."

"Bullshit." the younger teen said. "I've seen how you talk to her, look at her, act around her. I would be lying if I said I didn't have a crush on you in the beginning. You both like each other. Everyone else aside from Ben can see that. You're a good person Darius. But you're a bad friend for what you said to Brooklynn just now."

She turned to walk away. And in a fit of rage, he picked up the alcohol bottle near him, and chucked it at the base of the tree. The glass shattered loudly and Yaz flinched. "Who the hell do you think you are to lecture ME about who's a bad friend? You're a bitch to Brooklynn and Sammy, Fadoula. It's a miracle that Sammy wants to be friends with you."

Yaz turned around, and looked at him dead in the eyes. "My dad left me when I was twelve. That was about the time I started running for my school. I developed trust issues because of it. When I finally was able to find a boyfriend, I constantly thought that he was just using me. I pushed him away after a while because I was scared. You're doing the same thing to Brooklynn. You're scared of losing someone again, which is okay. But pushing away every new person that comes into your life isn't the way to go. But if that's what you do, then you really don't deserve her. Just like I didn't deserve him." Finished, she turned back, and started walking to find Sammy or Kenji.

Darius stood alone with his guns in hand. He knew she was right. He didn't deserve Brooklynn. He was just as bad as Kenji, if not worse. The horn on the jeep suddenly blared, and the noise caused Kenji to fall off of the ladder. He was half way up, so the fall wasn't too bad.

"Sorry!" Brooklynn said.

Darius and Kenji came to a different conclusion. "Hey!" Kenji shouted at Darius. "If the horn has power, we might want to use the battery for an electric fence."

Darius and Kenji moved towards the Jeep. "Brooklynn, pop the hood!" Darius told her. She obeyed, and Kenji and Darius started to work on getting the battery out.

"Does anybody have wires?" Kenji asked.

After a little bit of searching, they found some jumper cables in the Jeep. Darius set the battery down on the inside of the fence. Once everyone, besides Bumpy, was inside the fence, Kenji carefully put the cables on the fence. He took a piece of wood, and threw it at the fence. It cracked the wood, showing that the fence was electrified. Darius and Kenji smiled.

Kenji was about to walk away, but Darius put his hand on his shoulder. Kenji was confused, but Darius said, "You did a good job." He looked at Kenji. "I'm sorry for taking my frustration out on you."

Kenji smiled again. "Thanks. I'm sorry too."

A flash of lightning came across the sky, followed by the sound of thunder. The noise started to scare Bumpy, who didn't have Ben to calm her down. She roared in panic as the thunder and lightning filled the sky. She ran off, with Ben calling her. But he couldn't do anything with the fence electrified. RRRHOOOOOOOAAAAAAWWWLEE!

A terrible scream filled the air around them. It didn't sound like any dinosaur that Darius heard before. "Everyone up top, NOW." Brooklynn and Sammy were already up, with Kenji, Yaz, Ben, and Darius climbing up. Kenji flipped the table on it's side so he and whoever was hiding with him would have more cover. Sammy hid with Kenji behind the table. Yaz hid with Ben near the side, and Brooklynn hid with Kenji and Sammy. Darius took a deep breath, and cocked the shotgun, prepping himself for a bloodbath.

Lighting and thunder filled the sky again. The unnatural howl and screech filled the air again. A herd of Paras ran past the camp. A few seconds later, a black figure landed on one of the stragglers. It bit down on the neck, and moved onto the next one. Darius couldn't believe what he was seeing. The figure let out another howl, and started to chase after the herd again. But then it started to rain. Normally, that would be good, since that could help throw off the predator's smell. But the droplets hit the electrical fence, causing it to light up, and flicker and buzz.

The Scorpius heard the buzz, and looked in the direction of the fence. It moved towards the fence, and the six teens froze. Darius slowly moved the shotgun into a position he could fire. The Scorpius growled, and accidentally hit it's side on the fence, giving it a shocking welcome. With a cry, it jumped back. It growled before launching itself headfirst into the fence. The painful roar from the Scorpius caused the teens to whimper and cry in fear.

The Scorpius had enough, and stopped shocking itself. It growled, trying to listen to the prey it heard a second ago. "Maybe it won't see us." Sammy whispered. Darius had to fight to keep his groan and frustration inside. The Scorpius stood on two legs, and gave out a loud scream that sounded vaguely human. It looked like a porcupine, had the figure of a raptor, could stand like a human, and sounded like a demon. While everyone else screamed, Darius held himself together, and shot a bullet at the monster. The Scorpius stopped roaring, and felt it's jawline where Darius is assuming the bullet hit.

It growled, and started roaring again. The lighting flashed, causing Darius to lose track of the monster. Everyone started to panic even more. "Where did it go?" Brooklynn asked.

"I don't see it." Ben said.

"I don't like Hide and Seek." Sammy whimpered.

Darius cocked the shotgun again. He looked around the base of the camp, but couldn't find anything. Suddenly, a low roar was heard above them. Darius was SURE that the Scorpius was behind him. He clenched his jaw. The monster screeched again, and Darius quickly turned and aimed the gun. He fired another shot at it's face. It hit again, causing the Scorpius to shake it's head, trying to work through the pain.

The lightning flashed again, and the monster from Hell leaped off of the tree like a scorpion. Darius shot another one at it's chest, causing the ugly bastard to stumble onto the base. Darius fell back, and the Scorpius struggled to climb. Darius kept firing at it's face as Ben and Brooklynn pulled him back. The Scorpius had scrambled enough and started getting onto the floor. Yasmina had tripped, and fell to the ground on her side. Ben had to move out of the way to dodge the Scorpius's hand and he fell over the railing, also hitting the ground.

The Scorpius knocked over a bunch of boxes, and they hit Kenji, causing him to also hit the ground hard and onto some pieces of the shattered Vodka bottle.

Darius had emptied the ammo out of the gun. He was quickly trying to reload as the Scorpius turned it's attention onto him. Darius had moved in front of Brooklynn and Sammy. Darius saw that it was bleeding. It wasn't too bad, but now Darius knew. So a demon CAN bleed.

The Scorpius was about to lunge, but the lighting struck a tree. The monster turned it's head, and was memorized at it, like a moth drawn to a flame.

The three teens took this as a chance to escape. Darius was closer to the slide, so he went first, followed by Sammy and Brooklynn. Darius finally reloaded enough when he hit the ground. He ran as fast as he could to help Ben and Kenji get up. Sammy was right behind him. Brooklynn however, was last. And the fire on the tree had went out, causing the Scorpius to resume it's attack.

The monster landed in front of Brooklynn, it's tail flinging around. Brooklynn took a step back, but was suddenly flown backwards, and hit the support beam of the base. She landed on her side near Yaz, who saw her fly. "Hey, you okay?" Yasmina asked.

Brooklynn nodded. "Yeah. I'm fine."

Darius, Ben, Sammy, and Kenji were trapped. The electrical fence in hindsight might have been a bad idea since they can't escape anymore. The Scorpius roared at Darius, who fired a couple of more bullets at the monster. The Scorpius had enough, and bit down on the barrel of the shotgun. Darius fired one more shot in it's mouth. The gun was still ripped away from his grip, but the Scorpius was now hurting on the inside.

Darius took out his Glock as the Scorpius recovered. Darius was about to shoot and the Scorpius was about to lunge, but everyone heard another roar slash howl in the distance. Nobody knew what it was, but the Scorpius forgot all about the kids, and started running in the direction of the noise.

The rain was still falling. Everyone was wet, injured, and tired. "I don't understand. Why did it run away?" Yaz asked.

"I don't know." Darius sighed. The face of the Scorpius Rex wasn't going away any time soon. "Maybe it found something better than us."

Kenji started to chuckle. The danger had passed, so she was feeling pretty good. "Oh, that was scary. Nice shooting." he complemented Darius.

He smiled at him, and turned to Brooklynn. But quickly gasped at her. "Brooklynn?"

The pink haired girl looked down, and saw a bunch of quills sticking out from her side. They had penetrated her pink, fake leather jacket. "Wow. I didn't even feel them enter." Without another word, Brooklynn started to lose focus and fall to the ground.

The last thing she saw was Darius running to catch her. "Brooklynn? BROOKLYNN!" His voice rang in her ears as she lost consciousness.
