Another one. Lets go! Stay home, stay safe.

A few minutes went by. Darius and Brooklynn sat on the couch. Darius was sitting on the right side of the couch, with Brooklynn couple feet to his right. He figured he would just inch closer to Brooklynn. He started moving, but Ben sat down a few minutes later with a book. Darius sighed at the failed attempt.

"Hey Ben." Yaz said. "How 'bout a game?" She held up a deck of cards in her hand, and shook it.

Ben declined. "No thanks. Not much of a card person."

"Oh. Okay. Then, how about you help me look for some snacks." Yaz got right behind the couch, and moved the lamps that were behind Darius and Brooklynn closer to each other.

Ben looked at her with confusion. Before he could say anything, Darius got up. "I will Yaz. Let's go." When they got far enough into the kitchen, Darius whispered, "Dude. What are you doing?"

Yaz smirked. "Just being a good wingman. You TOTALLY have a crush on Brooklynn."

"I thought we had already established that." Darius said. "And you're being SUPER weird. Brooklynn's gonna figure out something's up. She's smart enough to figure it out."

Yaz just chuckled. "Go make your move stud."

Darius looked around the kitchen. "It's like talking to a wall." He turned back to look at Yaz. "Can you just chill? I'll 'make my move' when we're all home safely. Okay?" Yaz still smiled, but gave him a nod. As they made their way back to the couch, the door opened. The teens saw that there was nothing. But the sound of robot legs clanked down the hall.

"She said the BRADs weren't allowed in here." Ben whispered.

"Hide." Darius used his right arm to pull Brooklynn off the couch behind him. Using his left hand, he pulled out his gun. He quickly made sure it was loaded, and he pushed Brooklynn towards the kitchen. The robot clanked it's way into the living room. It scanned the room, and scanned halfway into the kitchen. Darius made sure Brooklynn was all the way over and hidden.

The green light moved around the other room. It had finished doing the initial scan. A few minutes passed. Darius was too afraid to make a noise. He poked his head out slightly, and saw what he assumed was the BRAD. The mechanical pitbull looked like it was searching for something on Mae's desk. The BRAD got off the desk, and looked like it was about to walk out of the room. But 8t turned its head to scan under the desk that Yaz and Ben were hiding.

Darius grabbed one of the pans that were hanging on the wall. "Unauthorized life form detected." The BRAD opened its mouth, and sounded like it was charging up electricity. Darius swung the pan under the BRAD'S head. The mechanical head went flying across the room.

Darius sighed. He looked down at his two friends. "You guys good?" Yaz and Ben nodded.

Brooklynn smiled. "Ugh, did you SEE that SWING? It was PERFECT. Nice job. You know, if the football thing doesn't work out, I can see you doing baseball."

Darius smiled. Yaz put her hand on Ben's shoulder. The younger teen asked, "Hey, could you guys give me and Yaz a second?"

"Sure." Brooklynn said. The two teens went to the kitchen.

They could hear Ben talking to Yaz. "Look Yaz. You're an AMAZING person. And I would be lying if I said I didn't think of this as well." Yaz gave him a confused look. "I really like you. More than a friend. But right now, I've just started to find out who I want to be as a person. And I really need to focus on that before I focus on someone else."

Darius fought to hold back the laughter that was trying to force it's way out. He thinks Yaz is hitting on him! I mean, I can see it working, but holy SHIT is this funny! Brooklyn looked at him with confusion. The older teen just shook his head and mouthed that it was nothing.

"Um, Ben..." Darius peaked behind the corner, and locked eyes with Yaz. She saw his face. It was a mix of haha, and what are you gonna do now. She internally groaned. "I totally understand. Thanks for letting me know. And I'll be right here whenever you're ready."

They shared a smile. Ben put a hand on her shoulder, and walked back to the couch. Darius gave her a cocky thumbs up and smile. The door opened a second later, with Mae and Kenii and Sammy following. The doctor looked at the metal head, and saw that Yaz was standing over a BRAD. "What happened here?"

"The damn thing came in a few minutes after you left." Darius said. "Pretty convenient, yeah?"

Mae shook her head. "They are not supposed to be allowed access in here." The doctor looked at Samy. "I apologize for doubting you Sammy. Looks like we DO have to be suspicious of Mantah Corp." Mae walked over to her desk, and put a white cube down.

"What's with the marshmallow?" Darius asked.

Mae explained, "Something happened with the Rexes during feeding time. This thing has something to do with it. I'm going to find out what it did to my dinosaurs."

Darius went back to the kitchen and put the pan back. He also grabbed a drink of water. He looked at himself in the mirror. His beard was still growing. So was Kenji's. Darius had The Weeknd look going for him. It was actually kind of cool looking. He also noticed his scars. Not just the ones from the tiger. The ones from all the times Brooklynn patched him up. It made him look like a badass. Darius noticed that he had lost some muscle on his arms and torso. Most likely from their poor diet of fruit. But it kept them alive. Sure, you could see his ribs a little, but he was one step closer to home. A few hours later, everyone went to bed. Except for Darius. He stayed up. It was for the night watch. But he guessed he didn't NEED to do it. He was just so used to it. DAMN am I going to need some serious therapy or WHAT?

Mae was working on the white cube still. "You know you can go to bed if you want Darius." she told the teen.

He nodded. "I know. It's just a habit."

Mae chuckled. "I remember being young. Being 21 at University was the best time for me. Me and your mother would hit parties and clubs, and go to class hung over, and in some rare occasions, straight up drunk." Darius smiled at the thought of his mother being drunk. She was never overly serious. But like any other kid, he's always wanted to see what his parents did when they were his age. It would give HIM a chance to scold THWM for being so young and carefree. "I didn't realize your mother got sick. I'm sorry I wasn't there for her. But now that you're here, maybe we could-"

Darius had stopped smiling. He interrupted the doctor. "Look Mae. I'm not looking for apologies. I've had WAY to many after she died. And it is nice to meet a friend of my moms. But... I'm not sure of I want to be YOUR friend."

Mae's smile dropped slightly. "I understand. I won't hold it against you." She watched as he went back to watching his friends sleep. Poor kids. They have an entire couch and they somehow made it to the floor. She looked at how Darius watched the five other teens. "Are you the elected leader of the group?"

Darius shook his head. "They needed someone to step up. I knew the little things Mom taught me about dinosaurs, and I had experiance with leading a team. I decided to step up."

"You play on the football team?" Mae asked. Darius nodded. "Sarah had told me you got into football. What do you play?"

"Quarterback. " the teen answered.

"You must be good then." Mae complimented. "Got a Tom Brady of an arm?"

Darius scoffed. "If there's ONE thing I can't stand, it's Tom Brady." They chuckled a little. A few minutes later, Yaz jolted awake from the floor. Darius went over to check on her. "You okay?"

She took a few seconds to look around the room, and she saw Darius. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine. I just... slept in the wrong position. Had a little pain."

Darius eyed her for a second. Mae seemed to buy it. Darius whispered, "Take it from the guy who dealt with his mom's death the wrong way on so many levels. I know what nightmares look like. How long?"

She looked at the floor. "After the Scorpius attack."

Darius sat next to her on the floor. "You wanna talk about it?"

Yaz hesitated, but decided to talk. "The Indominus was fine. A nightmare here and there, but it became normal. And then... The Scorpius was a living Hell. It was a small, killing machine. Even a pack of Compys don't even make me scared. But that was LITERALLY a spawn from Hell. A dinosaur a fraction the size, a literal killing machine." Yaz started to choke up and sob quietly. "And I miss my mom. Which I know isn't fair to you, but I can't imagine how hard it's been for her to accept her kid was dead. She didn't even get to bury my body."

Darius rubbed her back. "I'm sorry. I'm trying to get you guys back. We just need to figure out a way home." Mae started to mumble about something. Darius got up, and went to see what was up. "What's up Doc?"

"You need to wake up the others." Mae said.

Darius did just that. He shook awake Brooklynn, Sammy and Ben. He threw a pillow on Kenji's face. "Come on buddy. Get up."

Kenji groaned. "I'm getting tired of your abuse towards me."

Darius shrugged it off. "Yeah, yeah. I'll buy you a steak when we get home. Everyone listen up. The doc's got some news. Bad from the looks of it."

"After careful analysis of the nutriment sample, I've discovered alarmingly high levels of receptor antagonists, as well as adrenal additives. These MUST have been what caused the elevated combative state to the animals that ingested them." Mae explained.

Kenji looked at Darius. "Dude, the hell is she talking about?"

Darius dumbed it down. "Bad marshmallow. Makes dinos too agro to think. Made the Rexes attack each other."

Kenji nodded his head. "But why would they do that?" Ben asked.

"I don't know." Mae answered. "But it seems more important than ever to get you kids off this island."

"No arguments here." Kenji said, then went into a small coughing fit.

Brooklynn looked at him up and down. "Are you feeling okay?"

Kenji played it off. "I'm fine. Something was caught in my throat. I keep it one hundred all day, every day."

"Good to know." Yaz said. "We'll just make sure you live up to your usual standard. Run from dinosaurs, and almost get us killed."

Kenji let out a half hearted laugh. "Very funny."

Brooklynn sighed. "Great. We are now trying to get off ANOTHER killer dino island." She looked around the room. "Any ideas?"

They thought for a second. Mae gasped. "The supply plane! They replenish everything we need for the biomes and other things every two weeks."

Darius asked an important question. "Where does the plane come from?"

"From the international airport in San Jose." She looked at the tablet to check when it was coming. "But the next plane won't be here for another ten days."

Darius shook his head. "We can't wait that long. We need a solution NOW."

"Maybe we don't have to." Sammy said. "Is there any way that we might be able to make the plane come sooner?"

Mae told her, "I suppose. If there was some kind of emergency."

"If we stopped the Rexes eating the contaminated food, Mantah Corp would notice, right?" Ben asked.

"I guess so." Mae said.

"Then let's kill two birds with one stone." Darius said. "This is the last thing I'm going to ask you guys to do for the dinosaurs. Will you help me do this last thing?" he asked his friends.

"We've got your back." Brooklynn told him.

Kenji spoke up. "Hang on a sec." Everyone looked at him. Darius was wondering if he was going to say they deserved to go home without doing anything else for the dinosaurs. Instead, he pointed out the flawed idea of a plan. "So, we're going to somehow get this plane to come, while at the same time avoiding killer robots. THEN we just sneak on board to the supply plane, and hope Mantah Corp doesn't notice six kids?"

Darius thought for a second. "I mean, yeah?"

Kenji looked at him for a second then sighed. "Okay. Just making sure I understood."

"Me, Brooklynn, and Yaz already went through a similar situation earlier this week." Darius said.

Mae nodded. "Alright. So all we need now is a solid, detailed plan. Give me a second." Mae thought for a little bit. The kids looked around the room.

Darius obviously had a plan in mind. "Mind if I take the lead on this one Doc?" The woman nodded. Darius shared what his plan was. "Step one is fairly simple. Wait for the Rexes to go to sleep. Mae, Ben and Kenji will make sure that they stay away. Sammy and Brooklynn will grab the food, and book it out of there. Me and Yaz will go to the feeding platform, and disable it. Alerting Mantah Corp there is a mechanical failure, and send help. After that, we head straight for the plane."

"Hang on." Kenji said. "Why is Yaz not on dinosaur duty? She's the fastest one here."

Before Yaz could open her mouth, Darius covered for her. "She hasn't been sleeping well lately. And besides, Kenji, you and Ben have gotten faster in our time on Nublar. I trust you guys to keep things calm." Everyone didn't have any doubts about the plan. It was just another Tuesday at Camp Cretaceous.

The next morning, everyone raced to do their jobs. Yaz and Darius waited in the bushes for Brooklynn and Sammy to be done with grabbing the food. "Hey. Thanks for covering for me last night."

Darius nodded. "Any time. I know the signs of PTSD. I'm going to be honest with you, it's going to get worse. You're currently in Disney Land with how bad it is now. But when it gets worse, we'll be right here to help."

"Thanks." Yaz told him.

Darius nodded. They saw Sammy and Brooklynn had ran out of the feeding platform. The two teens raced into the feeding platform. "Find a box. Mae said it would be grey."

A few more minutes of looking, she found it. "Darius, grab some rocks." He tossed her one, and they both started smashing the box. (With the rocks.) It sparked a few seconds later. Darius raised his hand for a high five. Yaz returned it.

Kenji, Ben, and Mae came running towards them a second later. "Time to go!" Kenji said. Darius was about to ask why, but he heard the Rex roar, and the footsteps coming their way.

Darius turned around and ran. He noticed that Yaz wasn't with them. He turned, and saw that she was frozen in place. "Yaz!" he called out to her. She was punching her leg, trying to break out of the fear. Darius knew she wasn't going to be able to. So, he ran back down, and grabbed her by the arm. "Move it!" he yelled. That seemed to get her out of it. They ran up the hill, and made it out just as the Rex came to the feeding platform.

They met up with the rest of the teens and Mae. They caught their breath. Mae looked at her tablet. "You lot are almost home! The supply plane will be here in four hours!" The teens let out a bunch of cheers of joy. In four hours, they would be on a plane home.

Suddenly, a green light scanned the seven people. A BRAD had found them. "Unauthorized life forms. Elimination Protocol initiated."

Mae stepped in front of the BRAD. "Stop! Stand down!"

The BRAD moved out of the way. "Command override due to unauthorized life forms." The robot aimed it's electric gun at them.

Darius took out his trusty Glock, and shot the BRAD in the throat. That seemed to mess it up. The electricity discharged inside of the BRAD, causing it to freeze and fall down. "RUN!" Darius shouted.

Mae lead them through the forest. After running for a few minutes, she told them, "The airlock that leads to the plane is just up ahead!" The doors opened, and revealed two BRADS. They aimed their electrical guns, and Darius fired two shots at the closest one. It froze and fell to the ground again. Mae quickly checked her tablet for another escape route. "There's another airlock ahead. The only challenge is that we-"

"Duck!" Darius told her. The woman obeyed, and her head was met with a litter of bark. He returned more fire, but none of them got into the throat.

Mae opened another airlock, and the teens followed. The door shut as the BRAD came up behind them. The woman locked the door, and said, "That should slow them down long enough for us to-" The lock on the door clicked open, and the doors revealed the BRAD. The seven people ran. Mae took the lead again. Darius kept shooting. "I'm really beginning to hate those things!" she said.

"Beginning?" Kenji yelled in confusion. An electrical charge hit one of the pipes above their heads. Steam came out, giving them a chance to escape.

Mae lead them to another airlock. A couple more BRADs came out of the steam. Darius needed to think of something fast. He saw the lock, and figured if it worked everywhere else, why wouldn't it work here. Darius shoved the others through the open door. He looked at the lock pad, and shot it twice. As the door close, he got to the other side in the nick of time.

He sighed as he looked at the others. It was then that he noticed that it was cold. They had entered a new biome. He looked around and saw there was snow. It might be fake, but the cold was VERY much real. Yaz spoke up. "I thought you said this was the way to the plane."

"It is." Mae assured them. "We just have to get through this biome. It may be cold, but at least we're the only things here."

Darius's head hurt when he tried to think about the science of it all. "And here I thought Nublar was the trippiest place I've seen."

"And it's DEFINANTLY not helping my cold." Kenji said. Brooklynn looked at him, and walked towards Darius. Kenji realized what he said. "No, I meant OUR cold. We're ALL cold! Because of THIS!"

"Who cares?" Sammy said, who looked like she was suddenly having the time of her life. "I've never seen the snow before! It's SO pretty!" She caught one of the flakes with her mouth.

Yaz decided to ruin the fun. "You do know that it's Mantah Corp snow, right?"

Sammy's eyes widened at the realization. She dramatically tried to get the snow out of her mouth. "The cold is helping with my scars. They've been burning for the last few hours. But we're not going to last long out here. And I just shot our only way of getting back to warmth."

Mae confidently smiled. "No you didn't. Because we have those." Mae showed them two snowmobiles.

Darius nodded. "Alright. Ben, Yaz. You two ride with Mae. The rest of you, come with me." The older teen walked over to one of the snowmobile. He opened the door, and looked around for an emergency bag. He found it, and grabbed it. He opened it up, and found what he was looking for. He put the winter coat on. It was perfect. It had flannel lining. He shoved the bag back into the back seat. Darius helped Kenji and Sammy get in the back seat. Brooklynn got into the passenger seat next to Darius.

Mae's voice came over the radio. "Darius? Can you guys hear me?"

Darius grabbed the radio. "Loud and clear."

"Great." Mae said. "Follow behind me. We've got a plenty of time to get past this biome. Let me know if you guys need anything."

A couple of hours had passed. It was MUCH faster to drive on the biomes than walk on foot. Duh, but after everything they've been through, they get to have a little bit of a duh moment without being mocked for it. "Hey, Mae. Can we get an update on the plane arrival?"

Mae's voice came on a few seconds later. "Still an hour an a half. We're almost through the biome. Just a few miles to go."

"Thanks." Darius hung up.

Brooklynn smiled. "In a few hours, we're not only going to be on a plane, we're going to be back on main land."

"It's kind of weird to think about it." Darius admitted.

Sammy sighed. "I can't wait to get home to my family. What are the chances I'm going to be grounded for life for sneaking away?"

Kenji told her, "That's not going to be important. Not right away at least. They'll be happy to see you. But once they remember HOW you got here, then yes. You will be grounded for life."

The teens got a chuckle out of that. The snowmobile in front of them suddenly came to a stop. Darius stopped their snowmobile, and everyone got out. He got closer to Mae, and saw that there was a big dinosaur in front of them. But it looked like a Stegosaurs. "What's this?" he asked.

Mae was stroking the dinosaur's nose. "His name is Peirce. I've practically raised him. He's not supposed to be in this cold for who knows how long." The big dinosaur groaned, and landed on it's side. Mae checked her tablet. "He's going into hypothermic shock. I have to move him NOW out of here, anywhere really. Or he'll die."

Yaz asked, "What about the supply plane? It's going to be here in over an hour, but we still need time to sneak aboard."

Mae nodded. "Yaz is right. You guys go ahead with the snowmobile. I'll stay here, and get him back to the desert biome."

"You can't move him by yourself." Brooklynn said. "What if some of us go ahead to the plane, and delay it? The rest of us stay and help you move the dinosaur."

Sammy said, "The only way we're going to save him is use both vehicles."

Darius sighed. He was torn. Save Peirce, or get his friends on the plane? "Just once, when you have to do the right thing, I would like to see you put this group first instead of playing hero." Kenji's voice came into his mind. He sighed. I'm sorry Mom. Darius turned around, and looked at the group. "You guys get in one of the snowmobiles. Help Kenji get warm. Turn the heat on all the way. Huddle next to each other. I'll think of some options with Mae." They obeyed. Darius watched them. He sighed.

"What's the plan Darius?" Mae asked. "You're pretty good at coming up with things on the spot."

Darius looked down, and prepared himself to answer her. "I'm not going to help you." Mae looked slightly hurt. Darius shook his head. "I want to help. I really do. But I can't ask them to do this. They've done so much. They deserve to go home. They're my team. Family even. I have to do what's best for them, even if it it means sacrificing what I would do." Mae nodded sadly. Darius continued, "We know where we are. We know how to get back. We'll come back for you with REAL help, okay?"

Mae nodded again. "You're a good person Darius." she told him. "Your mother would be proud of you. Tell your brother I am sorry. To both of you." Mae wiped a tear coming down her face. "Here." She handed him the tablet with the map pulled up. Two dots were on the screen, showing where they were. "You might need a map. Good luck."

"You too." Darius said. He ran back to the snowmobile everyone was in. He opened the door, and got in.

"What's the plan Darius?" Sammy asked him.

He didn't answer. He buckled himself up, and set the tablet down. "Darius?" Ben asked. The teen still didn't answer. He gripped the wheel, and stepped on the gas, full throttle. The teens gasped, and were shocked about what was happening. They looked out the back window, and saw Mae and Peirce disappear in the snow.

Sammy still protested. "Darius, what are you doing? You can't just leave them!"

Darius said, "It's what's best for all of us."

Ben spoke up. "But, if it were Bumpy-"

"This is an entirely new island." Darius said. "New situations. I don't feel right either, but making that plane is going to be what's best for all of us."

Yaz looked at him through the rear view mirror, and said a silent thank you. He nodded his eyes. Kenji also looked at him through the mirror. He shared a silent conversation. You decided we would just leave.

Yeah I did. Darius nodded.

Kenji raised his eye brow slightly. Even though we could have saved him.

Darius nodded again. Yeah. But this is the right thing for the group. You said it yourself. I needed to put them first more.

Kenji looked away with a nod. The rest of the ride was silent. Darius tried to look at Brooklynn. She didn't move her head towards him. Damn it! He checked the map when they got to the end of the biome. They got out, and found the airlock. Darius checked the tablet. It would be here in ten minutes. "We gotta hurry." he told the group.

They made their way through the airlock, and to the airfield. The tablet silently beeped. It had arrived. They looked around, and saw a plane landing. It looked like a cargo plane. Darius motioned for the others to follow him. A couple of people were on the landing zone. It was going to make their escape difficult. But not impossible. The cargo plane started unloading. Darius and his friends hid underneath the plane. They were wondering how they were going to get on. Kenji remembered the movie, Catch Me If You Can. He grabbed Darius, and pointed upwards on the tires. Darius gave him a look. Kenji nodded. Darius thought for a second. The best option.

He motioned for the girls to come to the landing gear. Darius pointed upwards. Brooklynn looked at him like he was crazy. He shrugged, and helped her get up the tires. Sammy was next, followed by Yaz. Ben climbed up next. Kenji and Darius were the last ones to climb. Before Kenji started to climb, he looked down at Darius. "Hey. Thank you. I know you've been trying to get us home this entire time, and you've done a good job. I think that we're all too exhausted to save another dinosaur."

Darius nodded. "We deserve to go home. I may think one thing, but getting home is what's best for them." The two teens climbed up. Brooklynn helped Darius up when he reached the top. The six teens saw that the ramp for the plane was closed. A few minutes later, the plane started to take off. They were on their way home.

The lights above them shined. It kept them awake. Their hearts were pumping so hard. It felt unreal. For the last six months, they've been running from dinosaurs, trying to get home. And now, they were almost there. Costa Rica, here we come. Darius thought. It was going to be another two hours before they landed. The others had decided to rest. Brooklynn was sitting next to Darius. He finally decided to ask her. "Did I do the right thing?" Brooklynn looked at him. "Leaving Mae alone to watch Peirce die? Why was this situation different from all the other times we decided to save dinosaurs?"

Brooklynn reminded him, "We all decided we didn't want to hunt the Scorpius Rexes. But we did because we didn't get a chance to run back to the boat. We had to deal with it then and there. With Peirce, we had a choice. And after everything we've helped each other get through, I would say that you did what you thought was best. Thanks to you, we're going home. Was I mad at you at first? Yes. But I'm glad that we're going home now."

They sat in comfortable silence. Brooklynn fell asleep on his shoulder. Darius watched her.

Maybe I should ask her when we land.

No. That's stupid.

Wait. Weren't we on opposite sides last time?

Hey. Opinions change.

Fair enough. So, why shouldn't he ask her out?

Because you now have all the time in the world! You're going to get home, and you're going to be able to not worry about getting eaten. You're no longer running for your life. You can finally relax. And she's not going anywhere.

Except maybe back to London.

So ask for everyone's number when you land. That way, you can stay in touch easily. He lives in the twenty first century. Long distance relationships have a better chance of success.

A few hours later, the plane started to shake. Everyone woke up. "Guess that means we're landing." Darius told them. The plane continued to fly, but they could feel the altitude decrease. They heard the landing gear open up. Once the tires hit the pavement, they slid back a little bit. They grabbed onto one of the nets they used to hold cargo in place. A few more minutes, and they stopped. Darius heard the engine was still running. But he figured that would be the best time to get out. "Let's go! Down the landing gear!" The teens made a mad dash. They slid down the landing gear, and looked around.

They were at the airport. They could see the name on one of the terminals. The six teens ran towards the airport. Finally, they were back to Costa Rica. A few minutes later, they made it closer to the building. They were right where baggage was sent. "Hey!" A voice yelled. The six teens turned to the voice. "Qué están haciendo ustedes niños aquí?" Darius smiled. They were going to be okay.

And THAT'S where I leave you all! Ha ha! They're finally home! Don't worry, this isn't the end. Anyways, have a good day, stay home, stay safe.
