Alright, I just watched Dominion with my family the other day, and I've gotta say that I can describe it in one word... RUSHED. The plot with Beta and Maize along with Biosyn was fine, but they just felt like side plots. I came into the movie thinking we were going to see more of humans and dinosaurs fighting in a war zone. You know? Both species fighting against each other to reclaim the dominant spot. That's what they were hinting at I think. And I hate how they did my man Barry. No hate if you loved it. It just felt rushed. Stay home, stay safe.
Darius was doing dishes. Not exactly dangerous, but hey, he was home. He still needed to help around the house with chores. The teen couldn't say that it's been easy to be back in civilization. But he's been doing pretty good. Right? Oh, who was he kidding. It was going horrible. Darius sighed as he thought about his first week home.
It was fine. He had his bed again instead of a trashy couch. Second week in though, that when the problems have started. It was small things that would freak him out. The clattering of dishes, the remotes clinking together. He wasn't in a jungle anymore with bugs trying to eat him. That also meant that it was too quiet.
He was half way into the third week. And things have kind of cooled down. Darius figured that was because his mind was now focused on taking down Mantah Corp. Well, he himself wasn't going to storm Mantah Corp, but someone definitely was going to. Brooklynn had spent so much time working on that video for Jones. The teen hoped the man called or texted him back.
*briiiing*
Huh. Speak of the devil. Darius saw his phone ring, and looked at the contact. It was Jones. The teen picked up, and said, "Hello?"
"Darius, it's Jones. We've got a green light for the op. However, since we will be operating on Costa Rican soil, it needs to be a small op." the man explained. "I'm getting a total of five FBI agents, and a full platoon of Marines."
"Great." Darius exclaimed. "What do you need on my end?"
Jones said, "We need you to get Kenji on the phone with us. He's the one on the island, so he knows about any defenses, he can tell us where Mr. Kong will be, everything that might be useful. One more thing, we need a location for the island."
Darius thought for a second. "We don't know where the island is either. If I got Kenji on the phone, could you trace his phone?"
"We would need him to stay on the line for a few minutes." Jones told him. "But his brief will give us more than enough time."
"I'll get him on the call right now." Darius assured Jones.
"Standing by." Darius put Jones on hold, and called Kenji.
"What's wrong? I thought we said no phones." Kenji's voice said.
"Hey. I'm on the phone with Jones right now. They've got the green light." Darius explains. "They just need you to brief them on the island. Give them an entrance, any potential exits they can cover. But they need this now."
Kenji thought for a second. "Patch me in."
Darius puts Jones into the call with Kenji. "Alright Jones. I've got him on the call."
"Thank you Darius. You can hang up now. Kenji has got it from here." Jones said.
"With all due respect sir, Darius is the one that started this. I thinks it's fair that he knows how it ends." Kenji told the older man. "Besides, he's great at strategy."
Jones gave a low sign, then said, "Fine. Bowman can stay. Now, what can you tell us about the Island defense?"
Kenji starts. "The island is located somewhere near Costa Rica. I can't give you my location though."
"Don't worry. We've got that covered. We're tracking your phone, and we're getting a location in a minute." Jones assured the teen.
"Great." Kenji continued, "As far as I know, there is no defense for the island other than these robot pitbulls called BRAD's. They are robots that roam around the island and they shoot electricity from their mouths. They are super dangerous."
"Is there a way to track their movements? Any specific time they check the island?" Jones asks.
"No they just do it whenever their inventor, Kash tells them to." Kenji explains. "The facility on the island is located near the center of the island. There is a big door that leads you to the entire place. It's full of tunnels, twists, turns. You will need me to help guide you through the building if you want to arrest my father. There are four different biomes that store de-extinct animals. A forest biome on the North side, a Desert Biome on the West, an Arctic biome in the East, and the fourth biome is to the South. It's a jungle biome, but it's still being worked on."
"Okay. We've got the Navy ready to deploy within two hours. We've got your location and we will head there immediately." Jones tells Kenji.
"Wait!" the teen says. "Brooklynn's video should have mentioned that Mantah Corp is developing chips to control dinosaurs."
Jones nodded. "Yes. That's why we want to make a move on this now."
"My dad is not only testing these new chips, he is also hosting a demonstration. A taste of what could be." Kenji said. "He's figured out the problem. Just yesterday, he figured it that he can't use the bigger dinosaurs. But infants and juveniles, he can. He's already taken control of a baby Velociraptor, a couple of other predator infants, and a baby Brachiasours."
"What does this have to do with our assault?" Jones asks.
"I think I see where this is going Jones." Darius said. "A criminal hosting an illegal dog fight with dinosaurs? That's going to attract a lot of heavy hitters. If Kenji can give you the date of this demonstration, you can not only grab Mr. Kon, you might be able to grab some bigger fish. Or at least the people who work for the bigger fish."
"Exactly." Kenji agreed. "From what my dad has said, it sounds like these guys are pretty bad."
"When's the demonstration supposed to take place?" Jones asked.
"It takes place three days from now." Kenji informs them. "If you can, try to start your assault on the afternoon. That's when all the security will mainly focus on protecting the investors and invited guests."
"Okay. We will attack the island at 1200 hours. Twelve hours before op, we will have our submarine tank sit below the shoreline. Once we attack, Kenji, we will make sure that our men know who you are." Jones assured the teen. "We will target everyone else except you."
Darius remembered Mae. "There's someone else you need to rescue. Her name is Mae Turner. She was lied to about what her research was being used for. She is NOT a target."
"Okay. We will make sure to arrest everyone except Mae Turner." Jones assured them. "After we have arrested everyone, we will have choppers lined up for extraction at the entrance of the building. We've got Sat imaging now. We can see the entire building."
Darius and Kenji sighed. "Great." the younger teen said. "I will alert Mae and let her know the plan. You can pick her up at the entrance with me." Kenji tells them.
"Copy that. We will head over in a little bit. Good luck Kenji." After that, Jones hung up his line.
It was just Darius and Kenji now. "Hey, you good man?" Darius asked his friend.
"Yeah." Kenji sighed. "Just stressed out, you know? I mean, we've got the military involved. I just hope my dad decides to not do anything stupid."
Darius assured him, "He just got you back. He cares about you Kenji. I know that he will make sure to do what's best for you. He's a smart man."
"I know." Kenji said. "It's actually Kash I'm worried about." The teen explains, "He's a bit of a psycho. Very trigger happy."
"Just remembered, if things get to hairy, just hide or run to the choppers." Darius said. "Okay? I don't want YOU to do something stupid."
"Yeah, I know." Kenji said. "Well, I've got to get Mae ready, and do some things for my dad. In a little over seventy-two hours, my father will be arrested, and I will have to explain to him why I did what I did. I'll call you once we are done. Bye Darius."
Before the older teen could say anything, the line clicked. Darius sighed, and hoped that Kenji wasn't going to do something horrible.
Three days later
Kenji watched as his father greeted the people and escorted them towards the demonstration room. As Daniel was escorting people through the door that leads to the demonstration room, Kenji checked his watch. When he had a chance, the teen quietly approached his father. "Um, Dad, I'm going to find Kash. He seems like he could use a hand in something."
Daniel nodded. "Okay. Be safe and listen to him. I know that you know this, but in order for me to be a good parent, I have to remind you."
"I will Dad." Kenji turned around to leave. "Good luck with the demonstration." The teen quietly made his way to the entrance of the building.

One of the CIA agents that Jones sent, Agent Snow, was waiting for the green light in her sub/tank. She briefed the soldiers she and her four partners were put in charge of. "Alright guys. We've divided you up into five teams. Listen to your squad leaders. We don't want anything going wrong. Team One, you're in charge of taking the forest Biome to rescue Mae Turner. Teams two, four, and five, your job is to block off the exits in the East, South, and West Biomes. Team three, we are going to arrest Daniel Kon, and Kash Langford. Langford is wanted in multiple countries in Europe for charges of fraud, and governmental destabilization, and cyberterrorism among other things. He has a habit of acting out and putting himself and others in dangerous situations. He is to be considered dangerous. If he steps the wrong way, I want you to shoot him. We don't need him causing chaos."
After a few more minutes, the soldiers get the green light to exit the sub/tank. The five CIA officers break up into their teams, with Snow taking the lead with team two. After a little bit of walking, one of the soldiers who was scouting out the area ahead, said, "The big ass building is just up ahead. But, I've marked one person. I think it might be Kon Jr."
Agent Snow grabbed her binoculars, and after breaking the tree line, she saw the figure. He looked like he was carrying tablets? After looking closely, she realized it was Kenji. "That's the kid. Move in slowly. We don't want to make him more nervous that he probably is." Snow and the soldiers walked calmly to the kid. Kenji spotted something moving to his right. He turned his head, and saw that it was a bunch of soldiers, and different people. Agent Snow lifted her wallet, showing the teen her badge. "Agent Snow, CIA."
Kenji nodded. "You guys are right on time. Here." He handed Snow the tablets. She saw that it was schematics. "I snagged these so that way you guys could figure out which exits needed to be blocked off." The tablets were handed to the team leaders. "My dad is already in the middle of his demonstration. We have to move fast. I don't know how much longer it's going to be."
Agent Snow turned to her partners. "Okay, you guys know what to do. Get moving."
Kenji led them inside of the building. One by one, the squads split up until it was just Kenji and Agent Snow's team. "The first person we've gotta grab is Kash. He will pull the plug on everything if he finds out my dad was arrested first. His office is just up ahead. Act like you're arresting me." Snow did as the teen said. Kenji lead them just outside of Kash's office, and burst in when Snow gave the signal.
Kash, who had been monitoring his BRAD's across the island, fell out of his chair when he heard soldiers moving in. "Freeze Langford!" Kash looked, and saw that it was a government agent. "You're under arrest!" Kash sighed, and didn't resist the three soldiers who lifted him up, and cuffed him.
They took him outside, and Kash saw Kenji. "Kid? What happened?" he asked.
"They tracked me here." Kenji lied. Well, not completely. "They must have done it to me before I got here. I'm sorry Kash."
Kash looked at him with disbelief. But the older man knew that if he were to act aggressively, it wouldn't end well for him. All he had to do was wait.
Agent Snow realized that Kenji was putting up an act. So, to keep up the act, she drew her gun and pointed it at Kenji. "Take us to your father. Now."
Kenji was actually scared, but was glad that she understood what he was trying to do. He didn't want his father to be mad at him right away. He would break the news to him later. After a little bit more walking, and leading the people through the building, Kenji got back to the demonstration at 12:07.
Kenji opened the door for Snow, and the agent and soldiers who could ran into the room. "CIA and U.S. Marines! Hands up!" She pointed her gun around the room for everyone to know she was serious. Her head was looking directly at Daniel Kon, and she stepped forward to arrest him. But one of the five enemies in the room thought it was a good idea to draw his gun, and attempt to shoot her. BRR BRR BRR Unfortunately for him, he forgot all about the soldiers with their assault rifles.
Kenji heard the guns, and wanted to go in, and see if his father was okay, but one of the soldiers must have sense what he wanted to do, because he put a hand on his shoulder, and shook his head.
Agent Snow looked back at the soldier who saved her life, and nodded at him. He nodded. back. Looking back at Daniel, she said, "These soldiers are arresting you. You are all under arrest." The soldiers brought in Kenji and Kash. "You all have the right to remain silent. Anything you say from here on out can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to your own attorney. You have the right to contact your attorney for advice before we proceed to questioning. You have the right to ask your lawyer to be present during questioning. If for some reason, you cannot afford an attorney, you will be appointed a lawyer if that is your wish. If you decide to answer any questions now, without a lawyer present, you may stop at any time. Do you understand these rights?" Everyone nodded or said yes. "Having these rights in mind, do any of you wish to speak to me?" No one said a word. "Let's get them going." Agent Snow alerted the other teams that they have five people in custody.
"Copy that." one of the team leaders said. "We've got Ms. Turner. Escorting her to the extraction point now."
As they were being escorted, Daniel got closer to his son, and slipped him something in his pants pocket. "It's going to be okay son. We're going to be fine."
Kenji reached in his pocket, and felt a remote. He realized what his father wanted him to do. One of the protocols for emergency evacuation was to release all the dinosaurs. This was meant to cause chaos everywhere, giving Kenji and his father a chance to get to the escape plane.
Kenji watched as his father was being escorted by the CIA and US Marines. He didn't want this to happen. But he didn't have a choice. Well, he did have a choice. Did he choose family, or does he choose to be responsible? The remote in his pocket felt so heavy.
"UNAUTORIZED LIFE FORMS!" Kenji's body filled with dread. He looked behind him, and everyone saw three tall, black robots. Kash laughed like a madman. The black robots walked forward, and Agent Snow yelled, "Open fire!"
The hallways were suddenly filled with the sounds of bullets and electricity flying, hitting metal and ricocheting off of the BRADs. Kash continued to laugh as the soldiers kept firing. Daniel fell to the ground along with the other criminals. Kenji crouched down behind Snow as she reloaded her pistol. She reached for her walkie talkie, and shouted, "All teams! We are under fire! Converge to the exit, and reinforce us!"
"Copy that team two." someone said.
"Headed your way." another told her.
"This is team one! We just came under fire! Sustaining heavy casualties!" the voice said. "We need another escape! We can't get to the exit!"
Kenji sighed, and took out the remote, and pressed the button. I'm gonna regret this. he thought as he heard multiple doors open. Agent Snow ordered her soldiers to retreat back down the hall. Kenji lead the way, running from not only the new, black BRADs, but also the Pitbull Ultrons as well!
A few more twists and turns, and they turned another corner, coming face to face with a big meat eater with a single horn on its snout. One of the soldiers exclaimed, "Oh, sh-" ROAAAAAAAR!
Kenji lead them back the other way towards the BRADs. He knew that he and his father would be okay since they technically were authorized life forms. Kenji ran past Kash, who tripped. The teen turned back to try to help, but the red dinosaur was gaining fast. Kenji ran the other way as Kash struggled to get up. "GAAAAAAAAAAH!" CRUNCH! Kenji grabbed his father's arm, and continued to run.
Goddammit, everything has just gone to hell! Kenji thought. He caught up with Snow and a couple of other soldiers. He watched as one of them got hit by the electro bullets. "SNOW! THIS WAY!" Snow followed Kenji, along with the remaining soldiers. But they were quickly eaten, or electrocuted.
"Command! Where are the choppers?! We need them NOW!" the agent yelled into her phone. After a short conversation, the call ended. She pulled out her walkie talkie again, and shouted, "All teams! Head to the rendezvous! ETA for choppers is ten minutes!"
A few more minutes passed, and Kenji could see the entrance. Along the way, more and more soldiers joined the group, forming a small pack. That was good, because there was safety in numbers. SCREEEEEEECH! "AAAAH!"
One of the soldiers slipped, and was pulled away. Kenji looked back, and saw a bunch of raptors headed their way. The soldiers once again tried to shoot them. But the animals were just too fast. After shrinking their group to Snow, Kenji, Daniel, three agents, and about eight soldiers, the humans were almost outside.
"AHHH! Kenji! Help me! Someone help!" Kenji turned around to see his father being dragged back through the door into the building. The teen, Snow, and a couple of others grabbed onto Daniel's hands! Kenji heard a raptor sniff, and growl while they were engaged in their tug of war.
"Somebody shoot that thing! We need Kon alive!" Snow shouted. The soldiers tried to get a good shot, but with Daniel being thrashed around, there was no clean shot.
Kenji felt his father slipping away from him. The teen closed his eyes as he tried to get a better grip, but the raptor was too strong. "Kenji!"
"DAD!"Kenji yelled as his hands slipped. The almost seventeen year old fell back to the ground, his father no longer screaming. Kenji quickly got up, and tried to go back, but Agent Snow grabbed his shirt.
"It's too late kid." she said. "I am so sorry." She pulled him farther away from the building and towards the incoming choppers. Five choppers landed, and the remaining people climbed into whichever chopper they could get to first. Unfortunately, the red dinosaur broke through the door. A couple of raptors got a few more soldiers, leaving the survival total to five.
Kenji got strapped into his chair, and looked down at the island below. It was now subject to the same fate that Isla Nublar was almost seven months ago. I can't believe that just as quickly as I got my father back, I lost him. Kenji then shook Snow's shoulder. They both put the headphones on. "Did Mae get out okay? I promised her that I would get her out."
Snow called out to the other choppers. "Anybody have a visual on Mae Turner?"
After a few seconds, a new voice came over. "Negative. I'm the only survivor of team one. She got hit by one of those robot things."
Snow looked back at Kenji. "I'm so sorry kid." The young teen hung his head as the choppers flew to one of the command ships.
I'm sorry Mae. I'm sorry Dad. I failed you. I'm SO sorry.
And there we go. What an ending, yeah? I actually was initially joking about Mae dying last chapter, but at the last minute, I was like, what the hell. Anyways, have a good day, stay home, stay safe.
